Need Help Choosing Between MEDIATEK & SNAPDRAGON.. - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hello Mates,
Well, I'm new to this forum, but not to the droid world, so I'll cut to the chase ..
I'm planning on buying my next Droid, RN4 , Need some clarifications from hands-on users, so..
1) Need LTE Band 1 & 41 (Already Checked specs for both Indian & Global, According to that Indian SD Don't have These bands but MEDIATEK has These) Need Confirmation on this , So Can You Mates please check & reply ?..
2) VOLTE,
SD - Yes or No
MTK - Yes or No
3) Fast Charging ?
MTK & SD ?
4) MEDIATEK or SNAPDRAGON (Need Your Opinions)
Thanks a Lot for your time & replies ..

dude fast charging is overrated imho....no by default it is disabled or not possible CMIIW unless you want to fry your phone, Volte yes, about bands i don't know check a site like banggood, gearbest etc or from where you are gonna buy it.
Snapdragon always for me....for some reason when i see mtk i feel like i am getting something cheap, something that wont work well after a while

I'm Redmi Note 4 MTK user, and according to the list of support bands from Engineering Mode, LTE band 1 and band 41 are supported. See my screenshot at the end of this reply.

I currently using developer ROM and VoLTE option available on the settings. Though I never check this because I don't use network with VoLTE capability.

The SD variant doesn't support Qualcomm QuickCharge[emoji769], and the MTK variant doesn't support Mediatek PumpExpress[emoji769].

If you intend to use this device as daily driver, I recommend the SD variant. Also it has better upgrade chances to Nougat and O.
List of all bands supported in MTK variant. Screenshot taken from MTK Engineering Mode:

Go 4 Sd Variant, it has more Active topics abt Roms and Other tools compared to MTK Version.

Thanks a lot Mate for the Info...I Searched Some Sites..I'm gonna go with Note 4x (Global) SD Version instead of note 4 ..cause it has the LTE bands I need & I felt like I should try SD instead of MTK cause I never used one..So I'm gonna try out SD this time & see ..
Thanks a lot for your time mate ..

Hi Ashraf,
Gr8 build again.
I have a few questions -
1- How is the ROM management as MiUi is usually RAM hungry
2- How is the battery backup on this ROM. any better than stock
Thnx
Flashed MiUi 6 and the ROM is really impressive, thnx Ashraf
As I thought to update here for any user who is Still willing to flash this ROM, it is worth to do. Everything works perfectly
I'll do a small review after few days with most aspects covered
Thnx

You need adb drivers installed on the computer and check the driver status in the computer, if the drivers are not installed properly, the SP tool will not work.
Also, to begin flash, you need to click on the correct button on the SP flash tool
I would recomend to view a video on youtube if you havent flashed a ROM before using SP flash

@Mohammed.nooman looks like you are using UnOfficial 3.5-BlissPopCM12_5.1.1 on your innjoo i2 device can you please upload a download link so that we can download and get benifit from it.

Hi all,
not sure if this phone is sold with different names in different countries,
but does my phone innjoo fire (Standard) correspond with this innjoo i2? or the i2s?
dual sim 16GB onboard 1GB ram
only difference I can see so far is the camera location, mine is in the corner, i2 looks in the middle, but specs identical,
can anybody explain this?

The Chipset is different in your device (MT6582 - Quadcore) than the one in i2 (MT6592 - Octacore)
I2 has only 1GB RAm, ur device has 2GB
i2 has HD screen (720p) urs is lower resolution
so there is a big chance this will not work
I do not have that device so can't port it either

FDD LTE Baseband 20 (800) unlock?

Hi will it be possible to unlock the FDD LTE baseband B20 (800) on the 32gig Pro Version ?
The used this chip, is a SKY77643-11 and he did all basebands. http://www.skyworksinc.com/Product/3065/SKY77643-11
Teardown there u can see the inbulit baseband chip
i think is posible... wait a few weeks...
Really, you can unlock basebands? If someone can unlock 700 Mhz (Band 28) that would be insane, they would sell like hotcakes in Australia.

Looks like you need to:
1) Root your phone
2) install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobileuncle.toolbox
3) go to "Engineer Mode" -> "Engineer Mode (MTK)" -> "Bands"
But I don't know if this tool is for changing or just checking bands ( but that's where the screenshot was taken from)
I don't want to check it because we know that it don't have the lte 20.
You don't neeed to root yout MTK phone to run the buillt in Engineer Mode app. Just open the dialer and enter *#*#3646633#*#*
Be very careful what you do in Engineer Mode.

Any news ?
And then any news?its possible this or want any code?
you don't need to try and the engineer mode can not add any band even wcdma or LTE
Would it be possible to flaseband from 2014819 (Brazil Version) in order to open different bands? Isn't this something that would be controlled from the baseband layer?
Edit:: 2014819 has Qualcomm SOC, no doubtful
This MTK chip support any band (worldwide) but Xiaomi need to pay a lot of money for just one band. So they just bought 3 for int version.
The best way is to open a Thread and collect money. I think our chinese friends will help us ^^

can we flash this to current rn3pro? or will we all get the update normally?
If it's identical and same hardware specs then good news. There should be no problems flashing it.
I hope that will be possible with software update. Then RN3 will be unbeatable

There are 2 choices, Full netcom and double netcom.
Double Netcom(MTK): http://bigota.d.miui.com/6.6.17/hennessy_images_6.6.17_20160523.0000.23_5.0_cn_f1f61b75ae.tgz

Does this mean band 20 is on route?
He might be talking about different links. The screen shot shows the Chinese global 7.3.6.0 running android 6. I couldn't find any links like that. It might be a custom rom(unofficial) in that screenshot.

It's 100% the same specs like the normal RN3 Pro and with FDD B20.

does the 8a global M1908C3KG have lte band 2 or not?

I have searched a lot and many sites say it does (https://www.frequencycheck.com/mode...-32gb-m1908c3kg-xiaomi-olive-lite#frequencies)
others say it does not:
https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/80c65232
the thing is I have not been able to get LTE signal in Mexico (movistar) which uses B2, I only get umts/Hspa+
and the icon is a H+
So not sure if I have not configured it properly , I have it setup as LTE PREFERED, seems to me as if it does not have B4, how can I be sure?
Boot images patched with Magisk for specific MIUI versions (flashing these images will root your device, as if it wasn't more obvious).
(Warning: Flashing the images on different MIUI versions might break things like WiFi and sound, hence be sure that the image version matches the one with your own ROM version. Also, do take a backup of your important data as this might wipe storage)View attachment 4901393View attachment 4901395

Question Root Realme GT 5G (RMX2202) ...Global Version?

Hiya folks,
I've recently flashed the global ROM onto my originally-China variant Realme GT 5G RMX2202 device -- and I'm wondering if anyone has rooted this thing.
I did some searching and found references to a "Kingroot" APK that does so... but it looks a bit sketchy, so I was hoping anyone who has experience in this department could post what has worked for you
Thanks much!

Pardon delay; lost my home to a landslide. Le suck.
1) Thanks for the app tip, downloaded and checked, unfortunately it's still L3 security level.
2) After flashing the global ROM I didn't need to change the region; Google Assistant worked!
3) Yes that's the right thread!

Lemme ask you something else (or anyone that sees this comment), did you have issues with the Chinese rom where you sometimes missed calls? Like there's no record of the call ever happening as if you had no signal (no missed call in the log, whoever was calling went straight to voicemail, etc) I've been having that issue since day one but since I don't call much it doesn't really bother me, that being said I'm wondering if the international rom would fix that (or the Android 12 update). I've searched around but it does seem like I'm a isolated case
