Low light - Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Real Life Review

At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the Xiaomi Mi Note 2's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.

the worst front camera I've ever used

It is not that bad, but very often software goes to very high ISO value, instead of using incorporated flash LED. It focus correctly, but darker part of the picture is very grained, due to high noise. Choosing manually areas where to focus and kick ISO values does improve a bit overall picture quality.

Great in low light especially selfies
gcam mod improves the lowlight auto hdr performance significant. but its out of the box a surprisingly good camera.
Hello again, I use now for selfies, the Oneplus Camera. Although it only makes pictures in 4.1 MP but those are the best that I can do right now. If I find an improvement or even maybe a solution, I'll contact you here.

I can say the low light photo in RN5 is quite good. But not perfect. At least the noise is minimized and smoothed, you can still see dirtiness on bright wall or complete black area of the photos and blurred edge.
Of course you cant compare it with Gcam HDR+ Enc that took 5 seconds to capture. It's almost like it was not taken using phone.
