Soft screen glass
The overall build quality is ok. The only downside is the lack of gorilla glass. The hardened glass used on the Mi Note 2 scratches easily. Use of a screen protector is recommended.

I love the overall feel of the phone. It's very comfortable to hold in the hand, it's light as a feather. The metal sides feel premium, the glass display is a joy to use and look at while reading text.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector

What is the best (quality and cost) tempered glass screen protector for the G3? I previously had an M8 and bought my first ever tempered glass screen protector, Zagg Glass. It was fantastic, looked and felt like there was nothing there and the application process took 20 seconds. However, I'm sure there are other ones out there that are just as good quality wise but far less expensive. Thanks.
I use this one myself and like it a lot. Nice fit, ultra thin, rounded edges, crystal clear and a 9 hardness. Very satisfied with this one.
Orzly
Just perfect
I use one by Pthink. 9H hardness, very clear, and very very smooth coating which does not leave fingerprints or oil! very satisfied with this purchase and was around $12 on amazon. I prefer this one due to the cutouts up top.
Can you please use the long thread already dedicated to this tooic instead of making a New one please...

I recommend Bepak H+ have used it on my G3 and HTC M8
My nano.tr was great for about 3 days. Now its coming up in 2 places
I refuse to buy another Spigen Nano t.r after 5 of them with countless issues. Ive had them stop sticking for no reason, crack without ever dropping my phone and the list goes on.
I bought a Mime ghost glass and its a huge improvement. It also only cost 28 with free shipping from their website. Great screen protector especially compared to Spigen.

Any chance you could post a pic, I ordered one and am anxious to see what it looks like exactly.
I use zagg, and it's amazing. I also have the circle wireless case, and the front flap was not affected in any way.
I just got my pThink screen protector in today. It is a perfect fit. Couldn't be happier with the quality and price. I definitely recommend compared to the ones with the big cutout up top...this just has one for the speaker grill and ambient light sensors.
are there any tempered glass screen protector that does not leave any fingerprint behind?

If there were I would assume the same layer/technique would be applied on the original Gorilla Glass screen as well.
Some do claim they repel finger prints, that's usually just marketing BS though

I've been using a Tech Armor glass screen saver for the last few days and it shows fewer fingerprints than the stock screen. It feels smoother than the regular screen which may have something to do with it. It still gets prints, just not as many and they seem to wipe off easier. Very please with it for $10.

The cutout is for the speaker grill and the proximity sensor etc. It does not have an opening for the front facing camera. I've had it for a few days now and LOVE it. The beveled edge is super smooth on the outside edge and the cutout.

I bought the one carried in the VZW stores and it really cut down on the fingerprint / smudges - I could really tell the difference. But that protector was .4mm thickness and touch sensitivity became an issue for me. So I bought the .2mm iCarez protector. The thickness was just right, but the oleophobic properties are not as good as the VZW protector.
As always, YMMV.
Based on the reviews in this thread I ordered the pThink protector (Free Prime 2-Day shipping FTMFW).
I can't say enough good stuff about this screen protector. It is available on Amazon for around $11(with free prime shipping if you have it). There are a variety of good tempered glass screen protectors. Most of them simply notch out the top near where the speaker, light sensor and proximity sensor are located. This one has a perfectly aligned oval shaped cutout giving it a much more OEM looking appearance. Like most, the edges are pleasantly rounded.
The package is straight forward, complete with requisite chinglish on the outside. The package is generic, saying it includes a 'homer(sic) button' cover. Which doesn't make sense, and sure enough it doesn't include. Opening it up, you see all of the included materials. Nothing outstanding here other than the actual instructions seem to be in normal English! I didn't look closely but I didn't see any chinglish.
Installation is a breeze but good prep ensures success. I cleaned the screen extensively to remove all traces of oil and dust. Since I am a chemist I used chloroform to degrease the screen. I also used it to degrease my fingers (not something I recommend but it works). Once the screen was clean, I applied the tempered glass screen protector by VERY VERY VERY gently lowering it by its sides. I can't stress the very gently enough. If you do it gentle enough it will rest just above the surface and you can use your fingernail to maneuver the screen protector into perfect position. Then just touch down on the screen and watch the "bubble" of bonding spread across the screen, it just drives the air out. The rigidity of the screen protector results in a perfect bubble-free finish. I couldn't believe how easy it was. Once the screen protector was on, I wiped it down with the included microfiber cloth.
Initial impressions? Damn! It's truly crystal clear, I can't seem to find any visual distortion. Touch feels slightly changed due to the oleophobic surface but its clearly glass and feels like a touchscreen. There is ZERO effect on the touchscreen performance. Also, the oleophobic surface DRAMATICALLY reduces the amount of smudges, it doesn't prevent them but its a huge reduction. I have a few pics of the package before installation. Once I cleaned the screen, I lost my camera (my phone is the camera so I couldn't use it). The edges of the screen protector are within fractions of a mm of the display edges. This is necessary to make installation a little easier and to prevent bubbles. I truly could NOT be happier!
I'm really happy with a Bepak one. Rounded edges, smooth, and feels really great to touch. No scratches at all till now with some rough usage.
Although reading the reviews about the pThink one, I'm going to give that a try when something happens to the current Bepak one.

Protection on screen ?

Is phone has protective glass or any type of gorilla glass thank you ?

Unfortunately, the Honor 5X does not have Gorilla glass. It comes with a fully laminated screen to help protect against scratches and minor wear and tear.

it does not have gorilla glass, bt still offers the same protection as gorilla
If you're afraid about protection, you can buy a tempered glass
While it does come with a screen protector, I found this really decreased the display quality and removed it.
Unfortunately, Honor has opted to use a unbranded screen material for the phone, which you really can't call it anything besides it being really called just "OGS" or One Glass Solution. But, the screen is just as good as branded materials like Gorilla Glass 3 and such, hence from test that videos have shown (JerryRigEvery's durability test on the Honor 5X)

You're right, I would prefer clarity over heavy protection

i just watched the durability video of bonor 5x in that channel(jerryRig) seems like honor 5x has a durable glass which is on par with other devices.
I am waiting for him to do the test on honor 8
considering the reports of easy scratching glass on the honor 8, it wont probably survive the scratch test
Level 5 at max
maybe back side will get scratched at level 3or 4

Very good quality
Awesoem
Not bad, but black version has that matte black back, which easily scratches. Seems like screen doesn't have any kind of hardened glass
Not bad for a $200 CAD phone. I like the aluminum in the back and glass screen. Hate the plastic bands on top and the bottom though, easily scratched and don't look too nice. Also, the screen's not gorilla glass, just tempered glass which makes it a little more prone to scratching and breaking.
I'm going to put a tempered screen protector as soon as it arrives in the mail, the original plastic film it comes with will do until then.
Quite good as compared to others at this price. But The lack of gorilla Screen protection is tge main drawback. And secondly, the Charging port was so easily damaged..
Delicate, asthetic (gold and white version), precision finish adds a touch of quality. HOWEVER I was largely disappointed with how its software uses the hardware. My earlier moto g3 was far superior when it came to the software handling the hardware, especially the modem part, the modem in note 4 sucks when it comes to handling data. The octa core handling sure needs improvement. Xiaomi should spend more time in speeding up the core handling software to give its users a feel of the powerful ram and the usage of the 8 cores. If possible they should give the option for the users to use pure android or miui option.
MTK note 4. One piece billet case, lovely machining etc. Can't be beaten in this price range.

metal plate at the rear panel is very thin and get dented easily and can damage the battery inside.
happened with my phone but i opened the rear panel and straighted it up with some tools now its good as new
I have blue colour model. And it looks premium . The mobile is thin if we look at 5000mah battery . No manufacturing defects on body , perfectly smooth and feels good when we hold it in hand. The metal body is beautiful.

I can’t say that the glass is strong enough. Still got a scratch. Oleophobicity at height
Don't have complaints other than the glass. Already some minor scratches and chips on the glass which is noticable only from certain angles. Feels solid and premium in the hand.

Only complaint about build quality and aesthetics is that the Aura Glow back is such a fingerprint magnet. Like nothing I've been seen.
Here's my question: if Whitestone Dome can make a screen protector that collects virtually zero fingerprints, why can't Samsung use the same coating for their back glass?
Samsung is brand which makes great build quality phones with top notch materials (Eg: Display) which you can find in the market.
My aura white is premium build. Nice weight to it but does get tiring at times but something I can live with.
Feels much more premium than galaxy s models.
As for the finger prints, hardly any on the white but as for whitestone why cant they make a back glass cover?
No other device I have held in hand feels and looks as premium and well built as the note10+

Agreed! I was just thinking about how great the phone feels while resting on your pinky. Sounds super weird to say but the weight distribution is so we'll balanced and the flat bottom of the phone so smooth that I don't get the kind of pinky irritation and/or numbness I would get with other phones. I remember the iPhone XS Max being so heavy on my pinky it would cause discomfort after a while. I know this is the epitome of first world problems and even feels weird to say but I never heard any reviewer mentioning this tidbit.

Completely agree, quality build is really good. I just noticed how precise the side buttons are, for example the "click" on volume buttons feels really good.
This is a major point versus Huawei and other chinese brand devices that definitely feel like toys in comparison.
The phone is well balanced and very thin even a good case on it. Owing to it's a pretty much nonexistent bezel it spends 24x7 in a it's Bolt case.
With the right case it's pretty much a what the active phones should have been plus it can molt its skin if it's damaged.
It's pulled some descent G's in falls in the case and is none the worse for the tumbles.
In the case accidental touches just aren't an issue while still having full screen access. In the right case it has an open feel about it while still being well protected.
Using it without a case though is downright scary as it's a slippery bugger.
Water/dust sealing and buttons seem top notch.
The curve screen is perfect for One Handed Operation+ and now I'm wondering how I lived the savage life without it.
Plus it adds to the screen and overall phone strength in spite of what some think. No detectable frame flex.
A high performance laptop in my hand... too cool.
Build Q is excellent. This heavily used N10+ looks and feels identical to my new one.
Switches, jack, seams are all still tight as the new one. It's held up extremely well. No detectable display degradation of any kind. Only repair has been a replacement battery.
