Photo quality is not exceptional but it's not bad either.

Photo quality is flat out amazing.

Mind-blowing output. Day by day my love towards my device increasing.

As expected really good.

exceptionally well. photos are just too good for a smartphone level

photo quality is really good.

extraordinary good.

Wide aperture mode is fantastic.

Folks, post some pictures in full resolution.I will post later today. For me,camera is good but Honor 9 and P10 have a better cameras.

Can't get blur effect in aperture or portrait mode after oreo update. Also image quality have decreased. Very poor from Huawei development team.

Main camera is catching up. It gives painting feeling and there is visible noise in pictures.

AF is inaccurate at best (always seems to back-focus). Too much sharpening applied to the image files. Macro (close-up) performance is abysmal, cannot focus close at all. Colours, contrast, speed, dedicated shutter button, and other features are all quite good though. It's mostly better than my OnePlus One, but for close-ups the One beats it soundly.
With Macro you need to find the right distance to get clear pictures, same goes with any camera
Set with manual focus to minimum. It simply doesn't have a close minimum focus distance. It's just not designed for closeups.

Generally photo results are great, unless for:
1. HDR is less realistic, I would say same HDR quality with my 4 yo Redmi phone.
2. AI mode in direct sunlight will destroy skin tone, I should turn it off several times.
3. Bokeh effect from main back cameras is sometimes struggling to isolate objects.
For comparison, MiA1 produces better bokeh, I think because it used zoom lense which brings more natural looks (you never get bokeh on wide lenses in DSLR, right?)
