[AROMA] oZoP Mods- System Animations - 8 full w/5 add-ons [v1.1 - July 30] - LG V20 Themes, Apps, and Mods

oZoP Development Projects are on the way!!!
I know development for this device has almost come to a stop and I want to make it clear,
LG v20 DEVELOPMENT IS ALIVE and FAR FROM DEAD!!!
Trust me, when you start playing with oZoP projects you will understand...
It may take me a long time for initial releases and I don't post updates weekly or for that matter even monthly, I build my projects for Final version ready!!
You've already seen my Aroma Boot/Shutdown animation project.
This is the second installment, just another of many sections that will be available in my full oZoP Aroma zip, hence the project Title
ONE ZIP ONE PLACE
System Transition Animations mod
By flashing this zip you will be given a bunch of choices for different system animation style for screen/window transitions, keyboard/toast views and many others. You will get an additional option to tweak a little for unique styles!!
So I give you this, UNIVERSAL for MOST devices Aroma installer to give users the option for different choices!
This zip will work for MOST device running ANY Rom with ANY version Android 5.0+!
How to use the ozop-restore.zip to revert/recovery quickly without the need to restore or reinstall the whole Rom:
And just to be safe, I have included in my scripts and files a method that will create a flashable restore zip of your files before the mods does its thing!
The restore zip will be inside the new "ozop" folder that has been created and the zip is named "ozop-restore.zip"
If something doesn't play nice, just flash the zip and you'll be back to the way it was before you flashed the mod
NOTE: the script will delete any existing restore zips EVERY TIME you flash a new option, meaning that if you flash the mod again, your original system files will be replace with the file you flash previously!
If you want to have a permanent back up of the original file, you will need to rename the zip inside the ozop folder to whatever, just can't have the same name or it gets replaces everything you flash the mod
BUG REPORT:
Code:
MIUI choice causing boot issues for some users (works fine for me), so be prepared to you the restore.zip if needed. Will look into a fix for future releases
Report bug properly to get my support
Of course there are many way to properly report bugs and ALL of these ways have one thing in common, THEY ALL REQUIRE VERY DETAILED NOTES of the issue!
I'm moy goimg to go deep into how detailed you could get because lets face it, most people that report improperly are the ones who don't read and probably are going to read this! HaHaHa...
To get support from me I only ask for some simple things
1. What device, and rom you are running
2. What is the issue (no boot, fc everywhere, fc only certain app etc...)
3. Which option did you select
4. Did you get the install log
5. Did you use the restore.zip option to get back running
6. Do other choices share the same effect
That looks like a lot, but it really is the minimum amout of info need to troubleshoot!
Provide me that and I'll do my best to fix things and make this fun for everyone.
If you post things like
"Doesn't work", "bootloop" or anyone other similar post that have no value and help development is no way, actually these kinds of post only put development behind amd slow progress die the fact that anyone who cam help has to waste their time reading it!
If these kind of post ever come up, its best to ignore the lazy person and not clog the thread with flaming replies as that too slows development!
Anyway, I don't expect there to be many if any bugs! Been tested by myself and confirmed with users of this device!
Now grab the download and enjoy!

Deep Sleep Fix possibly... This worked for me, but not confirmed from others yet?
Steps I took to fix deepsleep are as follows;
1. Flash kernel (which means the need to flash root method (magick or supersu)
2. Flash attatched deepsleep fix
3. If its not already fixed reboot one more time.

Resource post
This is a quick tutorial to making a flashable zip of
Part 1 - Complete (compiled) files and
Screen Recording of the quick simple steps
Quick guide with detailed steps below
1. Download and extract the template file attatched below
2. Copy the file/files from your system using file manager of your choice
3. Paste the file/files to the "system" folder of the exctracted template folder (make sure the file path and names match EXACTLY as they are in your phones system)
4. Archive to "zip" the 4 folders in the template work area (data, META-INF, system and vrtheme)
You have now created a flashable zip which can be used to restore your files if and when you need. Just reboot to recovery and flash the zip.
Detailed step of of the above.
First is to download the attachment and extract everything to a location on your phone which is were you will be working.
The process is very simple
Basically you need to copy the location and folder directories of the file of which you want to make the backup.
Apk path as shown from Tib
Example, you want to create a flashable backup of the stock launcher.
Locate the file in the system (if you don't know the location there are apps in the Playstore that can assist with this)
Most files you would work with would be in system/app, system/priv-app or framework.
This example we are looking for the LGHome files. Using Titanium Backup I was able to locate the path of the files which is in system/priv-app/LGHome.
You will want to copy the main folder (LGHome) and all the contents within.
Now you will want to open the work area with the extracted files from my template.
You will be working in the folder labeled "system" (vrtheme instructions will be added later for more features)
The MOST IMPORTANT detail is that you copy the path with all folders and files being spelled the EXACT SAME, punctuation does matter you must match to exactly!
Since the "system" folder is already there, you will only need to create a new folder names "priv-app" now inside that folder you will add the LGHome folder and files it contains.
Do this same process for anything else you need.
Now that the folder and files have been added to the exact same location and are named the exact same you can archive the files as a zip.
You want to highlight the data, META-INF, system and vrtheme folder and then using the app of your choice (I use Root Explorer or Solid Explorer) hit archive and create the zip.
Now you can move the new zip to a convenient spot for easy flashing or leave it where it is, just as long as you know where it is and how to get to it from TWRP.
Now you have successfully created a flashable zip backup and can make changes as you wish. All you have to do it you run across problems is reboot to recovery and flash the backup zip you just made.
Part 2 - Injecting individual files with automated back-up flashable restore zip, the injectable files include images, xml, classes.dex amd resources.arsc
Vrtheme_template_includes_chrome_navbar_iOS_signalbars
Optimize Snapdragon 820 fixed version I only made this zip as per request. The mod file is not mine. I only added Aroma support for backup/restore and push the mod file.
The original thread is here
Good luck and happy experimenting!

Thanks OP. Will play around with this tomorrow!

Thank you for reporting, but I will need to update the OP it looks like. Apparently this only plays nicely with "Stock" based roms!
Just so I cam be sure of this, can you tell me which option you selected? Or if you did multiple (hopefully yoivread the OP section for "using the restore zip" because the restore zip only stays current to the previous flash, meaning unless you backed up the original restore zip after your first selection, it will get overridden everytime to flash a new selections which, unless you backed up the first one, would be placing the messed up files into the restore zip when changed to different style.)
Anyway
The OP is updated with link to fixed version 1a.
If there are other issues, PLEASE GIVE ME DETAIL ABOUT AS MUCH STUFF AS POSSIBLE AND MAKE SURE TO CLICL "YES" FOR INSTALL LOG TO UPLOAD FOR MY TO STUDY,
Thanks everyone

I can't remember that one, now I gotta change just so I can see!
I've meant to make a quick screen recording of each option, but it takes too long and I've got too many other things going on! Hint, hint anyone...
If anyone can just create the screen recordings, i will edit and convert for thread sharing.

Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes when the animations get changed, they need to settle in a bit. Then they get smoother, not always though. Play with animation speed in dev options to fine tune.
As for the InCallUI mods, I'm still waiting for feedback...
I don't want to post something that won't be compatible with peoples setups. Once I get some more feedback from users running other devices, I'll create a thread for the mod.
It can always wait until the full oZoP is ready..

Using missing links animations

Very cool stuff! Using missing link and loving it! Would be nice if we can have a preview of them all so we know what we're flashing prior too. Thanks for your work and sharing this..

I appreciate all the feedback and kind comments! Thank you all.
With the interest level I've seen here and the initial compatibility issue, I been putting in some extra work to get things cleaned up, looking nice and running smooth so when the full oZoP is ready it all comes together nicely!
That being said, I've updated the OP with a new version 1.1. Its not really much the average users will notice, just some script stuff, a couple of different things with drvice info in Aroma recovery tool and added more device support.
Nothing new with the actual animation so update if you choose.
I made this mods yrs ago and have been porting for devices along the way and it always is mentioned that previews would be nice and I've alwats agreed!
The thing is, probably are starting to get the idea what oZoP is by now...
With that said, this mod is one very small part of 1 sections of the full oZoP!
The thing with these previews for the full system animations is that there are a lot of views and behaviors to try and capture for a quick preview.
Then we start editing the recording to prepare the video to be converted so it can be shared directly in the thread.
All this takes a good amount of time and I simply have to many other things to work in the project and real life of course...
I have asked several times over the yrs, that is we all want to have previews could we team up some users and myself to make it happen, but unfortunately nobody has stepped up and offerd to help which is where we are now...
I have made some VERY short, very quick previews of just a couple of animations to try and help you guys out.
I will try to add more short previews as I find time, but that's the best I can offer being a one man crew...
PREVIEWS:
Note: these are just very quick runs and don't cover all of the various transitions, but you kindof get the idea...

More to come, hope you enjoy

Love your navbar. Hints on name and where you got it? ?

I attempted both full system and partial. I used the MIUI and Stock options. Don't worry, my device is working fine.

Flashed ios animation through the very nice and entertaining aroma on my h918 running MEGAROM v5. Very happy!! Great job! Much better than stock that's for sure!

Do you have any issues with 10k modified? Like Bluetooth or anything?
Does the battery last on that kernel ?
What exactly is modified about it ?
I'd like to try it if it's running smoothly .

VillainROM 3.0 for Samsung Galaxy S 2
So that old thread was long... Very long... It had good memories, but it's time to move on to a new thread, as 10k posts is just too much, and there are some more changes this time round. First off, it's as usual, a CWM flashable zip file. But, in a slight change of direction in light of Ninpo and Netarchy's Ninphetamine kernel being more complete, version 2.0.5 is now included. That is newer than the version released in the thread, but it will be updated in due course.
So for now, here's what's new in Version 3.0
- Fully deodexed
- Introduction of Ninphetamine kernel into the ROM (version 2.0.5 with BLN etc) - Note that BLN doesn't work with the stock SMS app, but Handcent is fine. I will look at ways to trigger BLN from the Messaging app later
- Install the BLN app from the market to use this
- Removal of Diginotar root certificates from the trusted store, given they are about as secure as a paper bank vault.
- All the usual stuff, although VRTweaks will be added from scratch again, since this seems a newer and better base.
- Re-addition of SIP since Samsung thinks you should be deprived of it.
Additionally, this is a way to try out the official KI3 ROM, without the bootloader being touched, thus allowing the USB jig to continue to working. To re-iterate, VR never flashes radios or bootloaders, so is safe. Stock ROMs, and other custom ROMs which are ODIN flashed, or indeed ZIPs, can and do sometimes flash these things without telling you. Just be aware - Samsung knows about the USB jig resetting the counter, and is on it...
Install procedure, and other details to come in following posts.
Contributing VRTweaks to VillainROM
Iff you want your tweak in VillainTweaks (with full credits etc) then please PM LennyUK with a description, screenshot if you have one to hand and a direct link (xda attachment, dropbox or your own server) No file hosts please.
We will add them to VRTweaks, so users can install them without having to download files to their phone. Likewise, if users find nice tweaks, let Lenny know
VillainROM Installation Instructions
To follow these instructions we presume you already have access to Clockworkmod recovery, and are able to put the zip file onto the SD card, and flash it.
If you are coming from a ROM other than VillainROM 1.2 or above, then you should carry out a full wipe. In fact, you should be carrying out a full wipe anyway, but it's not strictly 100% necessary if you are just coming from the previous version.
Coming from Another ROM
Ensure CWM recovery is available, do a CWM/nandroid backup and titanium backup, and put the zip onto the root of the internal SD.
Enter CWM, carry out a factory reset, and cache wipe, and flash the ROM via "Install zip from SD" option.
Reboot the phone into VillainROM, bearing in mind the first boot may take some time on the boot animation.
To use BLN
Ensure you are using the included Ninphetamine kernel, and install this app from the market (free, paid version with more features available)
VillainROM Download Link
You can download VillainROM 3.0 (2.3.5) from this link
Alternatively, you can download ou can download VillainROM 2.5 from this link (2.3.4 base)
IF YOU THINK THE ROM ISN'T ROOTED, INSTALL SUPERUSER FROM THE MARKET. IF YOU WANT CWM APP, GET IT FROM THE ATTACHMENTS LIST

Super happy fun times
OK, so I think it's time to explain what this is about. It's born from the idea that came about on IRC, for a way to make a theme once for a ROM, rather than have to adjust it for each incremental update for a given ROM or ROMs.
As a user, you don't need to know much - just flash this zip like a regular zip, and you'll get your theme running. But you should be able to apply themes to any device, ROM, and version of the ROM, without it causing adverse effects. That means less time spent by themers making the original theme, and less time spent modifying it constantly for new versions of ROMs.
As a themer? Well, here is the information:
Inside the zip, in the vrtheme folder, you can create a folder called "system" and "data". The former is required, the latter is not required unless you wanted to theme a data app (strongly not recommended, unless you know the app will be there on every phone)
Inside the system or data folder, create a subfolder "app", and in these, make subfolders named EXACTLY after the APK name. For example, to theme the Browser, you need a folder called "Browser.apk". It must be correctly capitalised.
Within there, place the files you require for your theme, in the relevant locations. So most PNGs will be in res/drawable-hdpi/. You can put in xml files too (those which are not in resources.arsc), if you compile them via apktool, and extract them with a zip tool.
In the vrtheme folder, as well as system and data folder, one called "raw" can exist. Within here, you can place files to be copied verbatim to the ROM (for example, modified JAR files). Note that using this may make the theme device dependent (read WILL make it device dependent)
And that's about it.
Features
Will modify APKs in a ROM, without changing signatures, and can be used on any ROM where the filenames of themed files is the same.
Should not need updated between versions of a ROM
Zipaligns all APKs before installation
Stores a backup of all files being modified in /cache/vrtheme-backup/
Requires no coding abilities or editing of files - just drag and drop
Can copy "raw" files, though at risk of not working on other devices (well, let's face it, it won't work on likely a slightly different ROM, so this feature is not recommended or encouraged)
Credits

Nothing evil or complicated - just a few little things. You should not charge for access to this code. That includes a zip containing this, or a derivative of it. So please don't sell themes using it. That's not particularly cool. If you want to use it commercially for some reason, get in touch with us.
If you spot a bug or error, and find a fix, please reply in this thread and let us know, or post the changes you made. If you're going to distribute the changed version, it is expected that you share the change made by contacting us, or posting it here.
Finally, don't be a douche - don't rip this off or call it your own, and leave all headers and comments identifying the origin of the code in place. Don't rename this to match your ROM or "team" name - it's not cool, and it's not yours to go and adjust. I chose to make this a readable "plain" script, but can easily obfuscate and encrypt it if you want to be a douche.

" OK folks... A quick vote -
You can have the VR2.4 ROM odexed, tomorrow. Or deodexed, with a laggy (or non-present) stock browser tonight.
What do we think? I don't have my odexed files handy and ain't re-loading it all in again... "
Is this still the case ?

haha, nice one!!
First of all, thanks for the great work!!
In the meanwhile, could you please further collaborate on the reason for your move from an odexed framework towards the fully deodexed framework?
We know that we will be missing the smooth scrolling of the browser, but what will we get on the other side?

- Replaced Boot Animation
Updated Features v1.1

IT ROM.v1.1**NEW**
IT ROM v1
Installation:
- Download, then extract IT ROM.
- Place ROM into /sdcard/clockwork/backup
- Boot into Recovery
- Wipe Cache / Dalvik Cache
- Restore
Future Updates:
Version 1.2- (ETA: Undetermined)
- Add Mobile Bravia Engine
- Add script for SetInstallLocation 2 (not sure if this will work as a pre-installed feature as it requires a line command prompt, then a reboot)
- Add a Theme Chooser app for the XperianceIT Themes (this one may take me a bit, not very good at app creation)
Some themes from my Theme Thread:
(Original Theme Thread)
"Purple Haze"
"Blood Lust" w/Toggles
"Pink Passion" w/Notification Toggles
"White Elegance w/Toggles"
"Blue Void" w/Toggles
"Blue Void" w/o Toggles
If any of you have any suggestions on new tweaks, mods, or would like to see certain apps included into this ROM as system apps, please let me know.
Special Thanks:
- Hogwarts, for taking the time to teach and mentor me on building a ROM. His COLA ROM can be found HERE
Nice man! My only suggestion would be to offer a CWR ZIP to change the font to something more readable.

Ok, Got the "Activity Market (in app market)not responding.
Force close or wait" a few times when first
starting it, but then seemed to striaghten up after I just waited a couple mins.
Other than that, so far all is working. Talk,Wifi,Bluetooth,GPS,, All Good.
Nice Job my man.
OK awesome. I think it has to sync all your Google info first. Other than that how you like it?

Well with a locked boot loader any "custom" ROM are all going to be about the same. Since we cant overclock, or upgrade past 2.3.3 yet. They are all just tweaked a little differently, like my ROM in comparison to COLA, has only a few minor differences... IT-ROM has the camera mod built in, has toggles built in to the theme, carrier name removed, and a few other cosmetic changes.... the next update will have tweaks built into the build.prop, adds a green dialer theme, and replaces font with stock font. This is my first attempt at playing with roms. It was more of a learning tool for me to get the basics down for removing system app, replacing system app, and what not.

Well you think that but it wont work
Cola has to have /data/ to work
I'm the one who design it so trust me I know.
Once you loose data the rom is broken.

Hey thats awesome info! I was wanting to do something like that but wasnt sure how to make a update.zip, and really didnt want peope to have to reflash the entire ROM again, i know how frustrating it is to have to re-do all your desktops, and widgets, and re-enter al your accounts and sync info.
Would you mind PM'ing me, or post it here, on how to make the symlinks, i am 100% unfamiliar with doing that. (im still learning all of this) Even if it doesnt work with the COLA based ROM, i'd stil like to learn this for future projects, and well, just cause its something I dont know how to do, and I ike to learn.

I know a little bit too, don't worry. You need to keep the Setup Wizard APK which, if absent, breaks the Home button in case of a data wipe. Plus, even if you put a /data folder, it can be empty.
XIT, I think the best that you can do for the symlinks is to grab another ROM (from the Play if possible), unzip it and check its symlinks. I'm not too sure of what symlinks your ROM needs. You can see the symlinks in the update script file in the Meta-Inf folder.

wont work.
locked bootloader cant flash a whole filesystem and datasystem
thats why UK rom has to be flashed as nandroid
1-2 files with the wifimodules work because your just pushing something
but when you try to
format /system
push /system
format /data
push /data
it basicly is going to wipe out CWM recovery in the process because if ur aware the CWM resides in system folder
so yes it wont work for locked bootloader
also I wouldn't keep setup wizard because it is a costly file to keep when it's never needed
the cost is about 1.2 mb not including data if i remember correctly.
so its gone.
when you use nandroid backup you dont need it anyway
I think you're right, I forgot about where the cwm was.

ya i know because i've tried it myself
i created update .zip and the CWM would always return error
i could never get it to work as many times as i tried
I like it, very nice. Plenty of space, apps and drawer loads faster. I implamented the "adb shell, pm setInstallLocation 2, exit". That way I can choose pretty much any app to be moved to sd or installed to sd. Stable rom so far today, no issues.

[MOD] Flash-aholicsTool 5.4.2012.0 - ICS and NFC Support

This is a windows based tool that I created to add things that I like to existing Gingerbread ROM's and to Hellraise I9100 Gingerbread ROM's (Samsung or CM7/MIUI/CM9 based) and I have decided to share it with you guys. One thing this is great for is flashing the updates of a ROM you use on a regular basis, I got sick of having to keep putting my custom init.d files (mostly that I would forget) and editing the Build.prop on the android was a pain in the butt so this tool helps me and hopefully you guys will find it useful too.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
How it works:
1. First you select a ROM that you have downloaded using the button to the right of the "Selected ROM" textbox.
2. Select what options you want to do to the ROM (like adding systems apps, init.d files, and custom Build.prop parameters, or Hellraise it!)
3. Click "Build ROM" and the program then unzips the ROM, apply's the user selected options and rebuilds the zip file so it is ready for flashing.
4. Copy the zip file to your phone and flash away!
5. If your phone does not boot try these 3 things before giving up (one of these should get you going)
a. Flash the same zip again
b. Remake the ROM using a different kernel
c. Remake the ROM using a different modem (making sure you selected the modem from the right type)
6. Always remember to wipe cache and Dalvik, and factory reset if you are coming from a different ROM, just like always.
How to Hellraise:
1. First you select a ROM that you have downloaded using the button to the right of the "Selected ROM" textbox.
2. Check the "Hellraise the ROM" check box.
3. Select if it is an ICS ROM.
4. Select a kernel from the dropdown list of kernels (I have included the Kernel from CM7 and MIUI and also included latest Siyah)
5. Select a modem from the dropdown, being careful to select the modem type for the ROM you are Hellraising (You will see 2 lists in the above picture, 1 for Samsung based and one for CM7/MIUI.
6. Click "Build ROM" and the program then unzips the ROM, apply's the user selected options and rebuilds the zip file so it is ready for flashing.
7. Always remember to wipe cache and Dalvik, and factory reset if you are coming from a different ROM, just like always.
8. Copy the zip file to your phone and flash away!
How to remove device specific checks (this is what prevents some of the I9100 ROMS from installing on our phone:
1. Check the "Strip out device specific script calls" box
How to add Init.d files to the ROM:
1. Just click the one you want to add from the "Add Init.d Files" section so you see a check mark next to it, all files will be added to the ROM that have a check mark on them. WARNING: the loopy_smoothness init.d file contains some of my custom lines in it to work with MIUI, so if you are not using MIUI you will need to modify it!!!
2. To add your own Init.d items, navigate to the "Initd" sub directory for this program and copy your custom files to that folder (make sure there is no extention on the file name) and then restart the program and they will show up in the list.
How to add Build.prop items to the ROM:
1. Just click the one you want to add from the "Build.prop Mods" section so you see a check mark next to it, all files will be added to the ROM's build.prop file that have a check mark on them.
2. To add your own Build.prop items, navigate to the "BuildProp" sub directory for this program and copy your custom files to that folder (make sure you add ".build.prop" to the end of the file name) and then restart the program and they will show up in the list.
How to add System/App Files:
1. Just click the one you want to add from the "Add System/App Files" section so you see a check mark next to it, all files will be added to the ROM's System/App directory that have a check mark on them.
2. To add your own System apps, navigate to the "CustomSystemApps" sub directory for this program and copy your system apk's to that folder and then restart the program and they will show up in the list. I primarily use it for QuickOffice and CM7's camera.
How to append to the new zip file:
1. Just type something in the "Append This to New Zip" field. Make sure you don't use wierd characters that windows/phone wont understand.
Applying an MIUI theme:
1. Place your favorite MIUI theme (they are the files with .mtz extension in the "MIUI/Theme" directory on your internal sdcard) in the "MIUIThemes" subdirectory of my program to ge them to show in the list.
2. Select the one you want to apply to the ROM from the "MIUI Themes" selection dropdown and it will then be automatically applied to the ROM, its that easy!
Text Editor:
I have also included a text editor to edit scripts and Build.prop modifications so you can modify them anyway you want. Simply select a file from the list and then click the "Edit File" button to the right of the list (there is one for init.d files and one for Build.prop Mods).

Change Log:
5.4.2012.0
1. Added NFC support to options
2. Added a few new kernels and modems
3. Added option to import kernels and modems so you can update the list anytime you want (just click the appropriate import button, select a zip file with a modem or kernel in it, give it a name and BAM, you added it!
3.22.2012.0
1. Added ICS kernel from Fenny (works with most Sammy/AOKP/CM9)
2. Added on screen button enable/disable function (not that we need it know but I already added it)
3.3.2012.0
1. Added ICS kernels from Entropy and Myself to the package.
2.23.2012.0
1. Changed zip algorithm to try and help those stuborn ROM again (status 7 should be gone now). I verified that CheckROM v6 and miuiandroid.com ROM are now working.
2. Speed up zip/unzip process
3. The hang on building the zip file should be gone now too.
4. Added 2nd version of 3G tweeks for build.prop (got from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1510532)
5. ICS ROM's seem to be working now too for the purpose of removing the device specific checks to get them to install.
2.17.2012.0
1. Added text editor for any file (on top menu under "File")
2. Changed "Build ROM" button to "Execute" and gives you 4 options (to give you guys alot of flexibility).
Full build from zip (same thing as the old "Build ROM" button)
Build zip file from "Build" directory
Extract ROM and apply options ONLY
Extract ROM ONLY
3. Changed the way kernel and modems are changed, seems to help some of the stuborn ROM's like MiuiDano.
2.16.2012.0
1. Added wifi fix in nvram_net.txt for those ROM's that need it.
2. Added checkbox to change device name to I777 for people that don't like seeing the I9100 and for market issues.
3. Change multi-threading routine to speed things up and hopefully fix the problem with the zip creation stalling.
4. Added 3 options for hellraising: GB-CM7/MIUI based (slimmed down hellraise), GB-Samsung Based (full hellraise), and ICS CM7/MIUI.
5. Create init.d directory automatically if you select any init.d files and it doesn't exist in the ROM.
6. Before unzipping this version if you plan to replace older version, delete all the directories beginning with "Replacements" then unzip and replace all files and folders.
2.15.2012
1. Added check mark for removal of device specific checks
2. Fixed init.d file copy errors.
3. Added ICS support, only tested AdyScorpiusMIUI v4 and stopped there cus I liked it. Just a few warnings, you will get no sound if you make a call and the USB stuff seems to be messed up so you won't be able to transfer files using USB once the ROM is on there and the hard button issue of course. Other than that, everything else is working including the face-unlock, ENJOY!
4. To get AdyScorpiusMIUI v4 to work, check the Hellraise button, check "This is an ICS ROM", pick the ICS kernel, and check the "Strip out device...". Thats it.
5. Always make a backup before flashing!!!
2.9.2012
1. Added applying your favorite MIUI theme (of course only use this option if you are working on an MIUI theme)
2. Tried to speed up the zipping portion a bit too
Quick list of ROM's put together thanks to this tool:
[ROM] Foxhound 3.0
[ROM] AdyScorpiusMIUI
[ROM] MIUI.us 2.2.17 | WIUI
[ROM] Turkbey V33
[ROM] CriskeloRom V38
[ROM] HydrOxyG3NMODV4

It takes 34 seconds total on my 64 bit machine, about 2 minutes on my slower 32 bit laptop. I will recompile it a different way and re-upload it for you to try, I will reply to this again when the new version is up? In the mean time, try compatibility mode and also try another ROM for the fun of it.

A big hello to everyone seems to be the right words to start with.
A couple of weeks ago i've decided to say goodbye to HTC after many years and got my hands on a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Running around with a stock version felt bad so i've started flashing custom roms within 2 hours after unboxing it. After flashing many of the custom roms i started working on a pesonal rom and started off with the DevBase by ALEXNDR and went on until i had a stable deodexed version with just those tiny changes to make my day. Now i think it's time to share the rom and find out what all of you think about it. Don`t forget i`m new to the world of Samsung and learning every single day, don`t expect high class development at first, it will get better as we roll.
Main goal of this thread and rom is to create a smooth and most of all stable rom that is friendly towards the battery, there's enought higly developed roms out there for those that seek all the extra`s for their daily driver. I will start providing flashable zips containing fixes, mods and add-ons once i get to know my way around the N4 and Samsungs way of buiding their roms.
Please read all the info posted in this thread before flashing! Make sure you know what you're doing just to be on the safe side. Before posting anything i have tested and flashed it many times but this doesn`t mean there is no risk involved in flashing my work. I'm not responsible for bricked devices or other issues you may face after flashing my work! Keep this in mind when you decide to flash anything provided in this thread.
Changelog between ALEXANDR's DevBase BOD2 and Project N4 B1.1:
- Fully Deodexed
- Added 5 way Reboot options
- pushed device overall volume a little less compared to B1.0
- Added Modded Camera
- Added Modded Telecom.apk removing ascending ringtone volume
- Cleaned the app list without loosing functionality
- Added Latest AdBlocking hosts file
- Added Memory Leak Fix ( thanks to robocik )
Note:
You'll need the latest modem and bootloader files to run this rom, if you`re running the wrong versions you`ll end up in a bootloop! The proper modem and bootloader files can be found in the download folder along with the Rom zip. I trust you all know how to use Odin in order to flash them
Changelog between ALEXANDR's DevBase BOC5 and Project N4 B1.0:
- Fully Deodexed
- Added 5 way Reboot options
- pushed device overall volume
- Cleaned the app list without loosing functionality
- Added Latest AdBlocking hosts file
- Added Memory Leak Fix ( thanks to robocik )
None as far as i know, so please share if you find one.
Always make sure you're running latest bootloader and modem before flashing this rom to prevent bootloop.
Also make sure you're running latest TWRP of CWM recovery.
Download the rom zip file and check MD5 checksum.
Copy the rom zip file to your (ext.) storage.
Reboot in to recovery and flash the rom zip file.
When flashing is done reboot your device and wait patiently untill the boot finishes ( This can take a while ).
When you're on stock before flashing this no wipe is needed for a safe flash, if you're running a different rom
or when you do run in to trouble a wipe in recovery will save your day,

@LeeDroid just for being my friend, tutor and master in development.
@The Great Dane for becomming my friend and putting up with me even in the darkers hours. Thank you for seeing the things the way i see them and backing me up in times of need!
Since this is based on ALEXANDR DevBase all additional options also go for this rom. Visit his thread and thank him for his hard work! Below i copy/pasted the additional features ( i know i`m lazy ) hoping he won`t mind. Please let me know if you do mind my lazyness so i can remove the text below.
Additional info that comes with this ALEXNDR.N910FXXU1BOC5 based rom:
1. Base:
- Multi CSC (list of natively supported CSC as above) (*)
- Removed KNOX (apps, agent, container, etc..)
- Rooted (SuperSU 2.46 app + binary), BusyBox 1.23.1
- Odexed (original, untouched framework & apps)
- All original features are present and works
- Able to write to extSdCard by all applications
- No visual changes (100% stock look)
- Stock kernel
- Safe De-Bloated (more info below)What does it mean and why is it called "safe"?
- ONLY apps available in stores are removed from DevBase, so you can easy (re)install any of these app if you like
- ONLY pre-installed system apps are removed, DevBase installer never touch any updated app nor app installed manually from store
Thus, the following conclusions can be drawn:
1. If you install my DevBase directly over stock ROM without performing "Wipe data" - in most cases almost all these apps will remain untouched, because almost all apps have been updated already (stored on /data). But then you will be able to remove any useless app using the "Application manager", like any other app. Removed manually app will not appear again until you use my DevBase while updating.
2. If you perform "Wipe data" while installing my DevBase - then all apps listed below will be removed. If you would like to use any of these apps - just install it manually from appropriate store. Installed manually app will not be removed during the next DevBase update.
Removed apps list:
Chrome
Drive
Dropbox
Evernote
Facebook
FB Messenger
FB Pages Manager
Flipboard
Google+ / Photos
Hangouts
Instagram
PEN.UP
Play Books
Play Games
Play Movies
Play Music
Play Newsstand
Smart Remote
WhatsApp
2. Init.d Support (*):
- Init.d support without need of use custom kernel (details)
3. CscFeature MOD (*) (enabled some built-in, hidden features):
- Added shutter sound menu in Camera
- Sending/receiving MMS without data on
- Added "Exit Internet" option to stock browser
- Added call button in Phone Logs
- Added "Call/Message block" option in Settings
- Added symbols as secondary keys in Samsung keyboard
- Call Recording (manual control, added "Record" button)
(*) - these options can be controlled by editing options.prop file (you can find such file in ZIP's root directory). Just place modified options.prop file (use e.g. Notepad++ to edit) in the root directory of internal emulated scdard (/data/media/0) or extSdCard (recommended if you plan to format internal emulated sdcard) and then start the installation.
Footnote:
After being around in the HTC corners of XDA it`s very nice to find out how kind the developers are within the Note 4 section of our beloved forums! Didn`t expect to meet so many nice people after having my share of "*****fights" in the HTC section. I do hope to make some new friends on this side, and will never forget the few friends that sticked with me in the HTC section.

If only I could, HTC features all hang on HTC Framework and Launcher so I don't think we've got much chance of porting it to the Note 4.

I will as soon as I update the rom, still hoping to get some feedback to find out if the rom is also stable and smooth for others.
Thanks for your great job!
Could you please add volume buttons skip tracks function?
I think that would be amazing, nobody did it until now and it's something very useful.
Cheers.

After installing the layers you want in substratum lite you reboot. Then you go back into substratum lite. Enable all layers. Reboot again for system to pick up theme. After you reboot from now on you will need to go into substatum lite then 3 dot menu hit restart system UI.

At first, I am sorry for that happened to your device.
If you have Magisk (every rooted user have this now)
Substratum installs Magisk Module with overlays. So disabling/removing Magisk Modules will also disable/remove all overlays installed with Substratum.
The safe recovery was in your hands but may be you got panic so early.
If you had TWRP Recovery
You just needed to install Substratum Rescue zip file in recovery. That zip is placed in your device storage by Substratum itself.
But I gues you were not having TWRP (That I don't know how and why)
So Safeboot was fine for you. But.....Oops.
=======
It was just a theme, it was not playing with the system or affectinf the system.
UI crashes after enabling substratum themes means....theme doesnt get installed properly and etc.
When you changed from normal substratim tl lite one, did you disabled overlays from substratum?, Then uninstall overlays from substratum?, Then reboot system
After reboot uninstall substratum..
And then install lite substratum, then install theme, reboot, enable.
As you said, you are using Substratum first time so obviously, there should lack of knowledge because there are many changes after Android 9 but Substratum never got updated after that so its partially compatible with our latest software devices.
But lack of knowledge, thats fine. Its just not you only. But blaming someone or someone's work just because you are not having much knowledge its wrong.
For your extra knowledge- As of today, Lite version is more stable than the normal Substratum.
As in a first try when you installed theme, its get installed but incompletely as you have mentioned above and also we can see screenshots.
So them was compatible, but what I can guess is when you changed to lite one, you messed it by mistake and results are in your hand.

Cool it.
Earlier on I removed my posts and have requested a clean up... Way before you mentioned this.
I responded here because he did, I also contacted via PM.
Also you may want to clarify your instructions too buddy, first thing you see here is an APK. Nothing to do with magisk mentioned.
Just a thought

Any substratum theme is an Apk file
Substratum itself is an Apk file
Any android app is an Apk file
Substratum do install its Magisk Module and save overlays there that works systemlessly as Magisk works like that.
For an example, check screenshots below, this module is created by Substratum Lite.
Other OnePlus 6/7/8/9 Pro/Non-Pro users already using this theme without any issues.
I am responding very softly as I always do as I have patience obviuosly. Dont take my any word hard but please its already clear about your lack of knowledge about Substratum but its not a bad thing at all, its usual thing with many users including me in many cases. But not accepting the truth again and again is wrong.
And check first post again, instructions already given.
Yes You cleared all your posts. Thats really nice of you. Thanks.
When you posted your issue...
before it got resooved, you already messud up with the device.
Again sorry about your data loss.

It's cool, don't worry about the data, my important stuff is safe on cloud sync, it's just banking apps I need to set up again so will need to call them and work 2FA.
My knowledge with substratum is patchy.
In the past I've installed the app, obtained a theme from the play store and then installed overlays in substratum, then enabled and rebooted to finalize the changes.
Most themes worked but some didn't, there used to be a recovery from recovery (TWRP) but I wasn't at home so couldn't get it.
Also safe mode wouldn't load up as the phone would only say:
System has stopped working
Wait
Close
So I would not have been able to disable the module if that was the cause, that recovery method would have worked perhaps, however I needed my phone at the time so had to commit to wiping system, again my fault.
As I said before my OOS was stock, 11.0.10.10BA
One mod: center clock that alters OPSystemUI.apk
Could have been that perhaps, but nothing else was installed.
Your one did indeed work, it was just the colours on settings that was different.
I've used this opportunity to jump back to a custom ROM, I only came back to OOS so I could pull the boot image and patch it for my guide, so people can use them, has helped a good few people out.
[Mod Edit] (Derogatory comment removed) I posted my findings, not sure what else I could have done differently?
Anyway, my phone's nicely themed now so I'm all good.
Appreciate your work btw, it does look nice.
PS: maybe advise to use the lite version of substratum.
Disable any mods before installation
Might make the difference.

Cool. But always remember to take these conversations to PM directly to the same person that is involved and avoid spamming in any thread.
And for any work/theme/mod you must always ask support/complain/feedback to that mod/theme thread or any group created by the same developer(s) of that theme/mod if that exists. Also avoid compaining to any other person, instead do ask support in that theme/mod thread
Now lets stop this topic
Peace

[Thread Cleaned] All that negative energy... On a Sunday no less! Let's just assume there was some steam that needed to be vented and let's hope the frustrations are behind us now. Remember that we're still all just people that share a passion for tech. And with such passion there inevitably comes a passionate discussion from time to time. It happens. I do heartily invite the involved parties to get in touch with one another to talk this out if needed. Just don't let it linger in here and please keep it polite and respectful.
Thank you and have a great remainder of your Sunday folks
