Buying A New Android Box. Which Is Best To Go With? - Android Stick & Console AMLogic based Computers

I'm looking to buy a new Android TV Box and I'm just wondering which it's best to go with. I had an s905x X96 box a couple of months back and it performed well but lacked bluetooth and had a 100m LAN port and 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi. I'm looking for one with dual band Wi-Fi and a 1000m LAN port and might aswell have bluetooth so I have all the features. I was looking at an RK3368 based device on amazon but I think s905x and s912 seem to have the best firmware support so would it be worth my while getting another s905x or is the s912 much better since they have octa-core?
Thanks.

S912 is the future. S905x is now.

TV Box for gaming, good or bad?

hey, I am kind of a game addict, like Call of Duty, and bumped into a piece of box, wondering if I can play games with a box connecting to my 4K TV, that would be supurb.
the box running Amlogic s812 and Android 5.1, I checked that Amlogic s812 is an decent chipset. can anyone help? http://www.maxconsole.com/cgi-bin/maxconsole/rknewz.pl?function=detail&id=RKSID00000000000000004096&cat=UNDERGROUND-ANDROID
Hi the Tv box you selected will do the job just fine. The s812 box's are the best there is right now..I will be getting the Tronfy MX4 Telos for review soon but in the meantime hear is my review for the tronfy MX4 (not the Telos)model but very much the same tv box..http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-tv/android-sticks/tronfy-mx-iv-review-t3122800

MX4 telos or beelink s82 plus

beelink s82 plus is cheaper , yet come with no OTA and Gigabit Ethernet http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_142710.html Tronfy mx4 telos, using Amlogic s812 as well, shipped with OTA and Gigabit Ethernet, with a higher price http://www.tinydeal.com/tronfy-px2zuah-p-154403.html as far as i know Gigabit is counts highly in gaming and video streaming. so should i pay the extra money for Tronfy smart box?

TV Box with Amlogic S912

So far, how many tv box with Amlogic S912 can you find? which are you think of the best tv box with s912?
Hi,
I'd like to test the new S912 chip. I'm struggeling between Nexbox A1, T95Z Plus and R-Box Pro. It seems that the R-Box Pro is currently the only box, where you can choose between 2 GB and 3 GB Ram. So that's my favorite so far... I'm not sure, if you really have an advantage of the 1GB additional memory, but for only 8-10 USD/EUR more I would take the version with higher memory.

Jim

hi, i have the same idea with you, are these boxes have miracast function? thanks...
Received this today, nothing on screen when plugged in, with multiple cables, on all inputs into working outlets. Remote doesn't do anything. What am I doing wrong?

Advice on Android TV device

I'm looking to get an Android TV device and I am overwhelmed with options. I want something that is fully unlockable with an active development community. What originally got me interested was the Amazon Fire TV but after reading up it seems the new units are no longer rootable/unlockable. That lead me down the path to other devices. I think I've settled on the AMLogic based devices (if there are other suggestion I'm open). It looks like there are basically 3.
S905 - Older chip and stuck with Android 5 roms
S905x - Newer with 4k but performance is not as good at the S905. More dev/roms available
S912 - 8 core. Has DVB S2/T2 support (not sure what that does for me though) Does not seem to be a lot of dev for this. Only one thread I saw.
Based on these assumptions I'm leaning toward a X96 - S905x 2GB/16GB model for $42.99.
Also. Do the non Amazon devices support Amazon video? My current chromecast's do not and that is one reason for the upgrade.
I am in a similat boot here
Decided on the X96 because I found the page for the firmware updates before I found a link to buy the box LOL
Apart from the missing BT a great box considering the usual limitations.
Amazon video only works on Amazon devices AFAIK but I don't use it.
Same story for Android TV, great hype about it but I think it is just a crippled launcher with really limited content showing up - mainly Youtube and Google but nothing else.
The S912 seems to be the affordable alternative if you need BT and a bit more computing power for games but S905D boxes are slowly turning up.
Same for devices running on Android7 and offering up to 3GB/32GB.
But Android7 for TV boxes is in an early beta to say it nice with a lot of bugs and half cooked menu structures - better to wait a bit longer if you ask me.
And since the hardware for these boxes is literally identical within the families it comes down to personal preference and what can be modded or not.
Personally I am starting to think that despite the huge price tag the Shield is still the best option in terms of quality, hardware and support.
DVB is for terrestial and satellite TV.
Thanks. I did not realize there was no BT on the S905x boxes. My only concern there is I was planning to use a wireless BT keyboard with it.
Almost all wireless keyboards that come with a dongle will work, for example the Logitech and MS ones, same for the dirt cheap and tiny touchpad keyboards you get on Ebay.
BT is only a problem if you need it for game controllers, weather stations or to pair some speakers to it.
I see. I went ahead and ordered a X96 that included a mini keyboard last night. I figure for $47.98, including shipping, what the heck right? I'll have a cheap new toy to play with.
Once you played enough you will start playing even more when you try different custom roms
hi please help i flashed wrong twrp recovery i think now my amlogic smartbox failed to boot in recovery mode and the main problem is my smartbox Encryption Unsuccessful Factory reset, when i click factory reset nothing happend please guide how to solve this

Recommended android tv ROM for BEELINK GT1 ULTIMATE?

Hello everyone.
I have a BEELINK GT1 ULTIMATE TV box based on the amlogic s912 chipset, and I've been using superceleron's android TV ROM for a couple of years. Lately the TV box is a bit slow, so I thought to upgrade to a newer ROM.
Which ROM is recommended as of today, especially in terms of speed and stability?
I'm looking only for Android TV ROMs.
Thanks in advance!!
I found this video, it might help:
