How to disable NFC sound on Android Nougat (7.1.2) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
As i'm a fan of using Dimple.io (a NFC customisable button sticker), aswell using other NFC compatible devices like my Sony camera. I get annoyed by the sound my phone makes with every NFC tag. On previous Android versions i alsways was able to disable the NFC sound true an Xposed installer bypass. Unfortunatly the current Xposed installer for Nougat has not been stable for me for daily use and i'm looking for other options. I already had found a solution by decompiling the system app NfcNci.apk, and replacing the sound with an silent sound. Unfortunatly the recompiled apk file somehow gets corrupted and i get FC's after rebooting.
Are there any other ways to get this fixed somehow? Been waiting to install Android Nougat on my Oneplus One for this reason only and since i heard there was an Xposed Installer available, i gave it a shot.
I'm on the latest Resurrection Remix rom
Thanks in advance.

Oneplus X Greenify experimental features not working.

Hi, after I rooted my Oneplus X and installed all necessary features like Xposed installer etc I cant get Greenify (donation package) to work, specifically the GCM Push notifications. It gives me an error that the ROM is incompatible. Is there any way for me to fix this?
Thanks!
Same here.
Haven't seen a fix yet...
Maybe it'll be OK on CM12.1 builds once they're available?

anyone with some idea how to fix that ?

Yeah it was Desire that caused that.
Some others stopped at 99%, but booted up after waiting 10-25 minutes.
Also no Sony sound mods have worked for me.
They might boot fine and add extra options, but EQ never work.
I'm guessing my FW version is the issue.

ZTE Z7 Max (NX505J) - IR Not Working

I'm deeply puzzled, and a bit annoyed my shiny new Z7 Max doesn't seem to have working infrared. I can see the thing, but software can't.
Bought the phone off Feebay, has a "Westone" logo on the back, along with China Mobile. ROM seems stock, shows as Android 5.1.1 and has no obvious bloatware.
The reception seems no better than on my old THL T6 pro, but the GPS is vastly better (can even get a lock indoors). Both hate having two sims (from the same provider) fitted - Another reason I upgraded, and another irritation, but one I can live with.
There was something about explore Nubia OS when it first started, and I'm used to KitKat, so there might be some tweaks or other away from stock I don't know of.
What's bothering me is I can't find any sign of an IR app on it, and anything I've downloaded just says the phone doesn't have an IR port.
Anyone got any ideas? Or known working/ stable roms where the IR *does* function?
I'm using MoKee, and it seems to work; can control my tv, which is all i've used it for. The app that comes with the ROM is called Infrared control.
This is the one I bought ebay.co.uk/itm/272424574812
I can't find any hint of IR software on the phone as it reached me, so will see if the seller can help (unlikely) and then.. Gasp.. invalidate my warranty by finding a rom that *does* operate the features the phone was sold as having.
I imported mine, but it also came running android 5.1 and with play store. Unfortunately I didn't try out IR before installing custom ROM, and can't remember if there was any IR app installed.
The app which comes with MoKee appears to be a Nubia app though.

I can't find a download for the IR app that came with the phone, so may as well go for a different rom I guess.
Are there any known/ annoying bugs in Mokee?
Nothing I've noticed, but there's some stuff I haven't tested, like second SIM, Bluetooth audio and tap to pay. Probably other stuff too. Do a backup first and you've got nothing much to lose.

I recieved mine yesterday from GearBest. It also has the Westone logo on it and aside from missing the IR app was also missing the FM Radio.
After a little searching around I found a German forum from where I downloaded the, what seem to been stock, apks.
Now my FM Radio is working fine, but IR is still not functioning. An IR Romote App sugested a library is missing....
P.M. If you want the links, since I cannot post them due to new member restrictions.
I wasn't worried about FM radio, but did notice there was no sign of it.
I looked around for the IR app, but kept getting rather suspicious looking, definitely not, IR things in disguise.. Sigh.
It sounds like you've made some inroads though, fingers crossed there's a solution to this (though slapping a non stock rom on isn't a problem, *if* all features work relaibly).
Edit to add:
I've found an official ROM and copied the control and control test apks from it.. But although the app loads/ runs, there's still no sign of life from the IR led itself. No doubt I'm missing something the OS requires, it's been a while since I played with these things (and I wasn't very good at it then!).
I have same problem i extracted from 3.84 romofficial the 2 apk ir control and zfm radio only radio works hope there is a solution out there....
I bought the phone from china bangood and no help is provided...
Infrared works on z7 Max bought from banggood on CM12.1 ROM (www.needrom.com)
But i like the 5.1.1 oficiall rom is there any way to make it work i fixfmradio by finding an zfwapp.apk from previous official rom i also install ircontrol.apk and its the nubia one but is notworking pls help me enable ir here

this is the infrared apk (cn.nubia.control v3.0.1.1011) from the CM12.1 that works 100% in the CM12.1 ROM, you can try it on your ROM and see.
Note: - i beleive it has to be a system app but you can try installing as normal and see if it works, if not then you will have to make it a system app, also the Z7 Max has to be rooted to be able to do as below.
Here's how to make it a system app -
1). Install the attached app as usual.
2). use an explorer app like 'Root Explorer' and
move "ZTE_IRControl.apk" (which will very likely be in /data/app)
to /system/priv-app
then restart phone and then try the infrared app.
.
.
.
I can't install apk ..... Phone is rooted
---------- Post added at 03:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:35 PM ----------
This apk doesn't install I have the phone rooted and my ircontrol.apk that I got from previous ROM I install it doesn't work then move it to system/priv-app reboot still not working I'm loving this phone but I don't like that ir is not working
I got mine from Banggood as well. Here's how I got both FM and IR working. All referenced apps unless otherwise stated can be found on Needrom under the Z7 Max section.
Phone needs to be rooted - use the utility "Z7 Max All In One Tool v3.3.0" to root and install TWRP, followed by SuperSU ZIP file from Chainfire via TWRP.
Extract the nubia_IRControl1.apk and nubia_ZFM.apk from the Stock ROM V3.89. Place them in your SDCard/microSD card.
Under Settings > Security - Allow installation from Unknown Sources, install the IR and FM APKs.
I used 3C Toolbox Pro from Play Store to move both apps to the system folder. Both runs nicely in the stock Nubia 3.96 that came on the phone.
Further on, I flashed the ResurrectionRemix Nougat Rom dated Feb 03, 2017, both IR and FM apps are already included and working. Both the stock and RR ROMs were working nicely, I just wanted the latest security patch by moving to RR.
For starters thank you very much for your help I already root my device with kingroot and I copy the twoapks from previous ROM 3.89 and install them then made them system apps by copying them to priv-app with root explorer
The problem is that the IR still not working can you help me skittle bit more cause I don't won't to change ROM I like this 3.96 please advise...please
finally I flashed the ResurrectionRemix Nougat Rom dated Feb 03, 2017, both IR and FM apps are already included and working...do you have a link of official rom 3.96??
Unfortunately I cannot find a download for 3.96, the latest available is 3.89 from Needrom.
hi
i too have the same issues, basically the IR has not been built into the lollipop rom. any help greatly appreciated as i love this rom
Radio is working on 3.96 but not ir only in RR nougat
Had other things take my attention off this problem - Glad to see lots of useful info in the thread now
I'd better get downloading and faffing.

Technical explanation
For some reason OnePlus has patched the Background Dex Optimization service. I think it's related to the aggressive optimization OOS 4.5 pushes (it uses the "speed" compiler filter everywhere) and also implements some filtering of some apps (see the blacklist add lines in the backtrace).
Note that the Background Dex Optimizer as shipped by OOS will not obey the pm.dexopt.bg-dexopt property and will always use "speed" irrespective of the pm.dexopt.bg-dexopt setting. Gah...
In their patching, OnePlus made the com.android.server.pm.PackageDexOptimizer.getOatFileCompilerFilter() framework function call the dalvik.system.DexFile.getOatFileCompilerFilter() native function.
dalvik.system.DexFile.getOatFileCompilerFilter() is implemented in OOS by /system/lib64/libart.so.
And Xposed replaces /system/lib64/libart.so with its own version, which does not contain dalvik.system.DexFile.getOatFileCompilerFilter().
When the OOS phone is left charging and reaches 100% battery, a timer starts. 1h after reaching 100% battery, the Background Dex Optimization runs, and promptly crashes. Since this is in the Android system, the whole phone soft-reboots.
The module works by hooking com.android.server.pm.PackageDexOptimizer.getOatFileCompilerFilter() and having it return null instead of calling the native method dalvik.system.DexFile.getOatFileCompilerFilter(). That's what the native method returns anyways, so no functionality should be lost.
Device Status
Working and tested on:
OnePlus 5 running OOS 4.5.12, Magisk 14.2 and Xposed 88.0.

Attention beta testers:
Please let your device run on power overnight and send me the Xposed log file.
You should see many lines with the "OOSDEX" prefix.
Trying it now, thanks very much!
Does this effect mm at all or simply n?
I only found this problem on OOS 4.5.x, which is Nougat. The package won't install on anything but N or above. Did you experience a similar crash on a MM OOS ROM?
Thank you!!! Really hope this works! Noticed this when my alarm didn't go off 2 days ago.. Last night I woke up a few times and when i looked at my phone it asked asked my code. This happened 3 times , so at least 3 reboots while on charger.
My 3T (running OB 15) charged just fine without crashing last night.
I guess it's a good thing that I'm sticking with it for now. OxygenOS open beta roms are about as close to perfect as it gets when you add magisk, xposed, and substratum. I love custom roms as much as anyone else, but OOS is hands down the best stock ROM. Remaining close to AOSP gives it the versatility that other stock roms lack.

I'm happy to hear that your phone didn't crash overnight. Did you have the module enabled?
If so, can you share your Xposed log from that night? Right now the module has lots of logging, which I will pare down later, but I'd like to check everything is working fine.
@Fif_ does your module work on v88.1?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
Haven't tried, waiting for the systemless update for 88.1.
Given that the module is very simple, if Xposed 88.1 works for you, the module should work. Please report back and share your Xposed log in any case. Thanks.
I added a technical explanation to the project description, in case anyone's interested in understanding what happens.
Still no reports of success of failures, with 219 downloads so far. It's working fine for everyone I guess, or I'd hear more complaints...
Hi Fif_,
Thanks for the fix. Have you reported this issue to rovo? Seems like an xposed framework bug to me. Shouldn't it be fix in the framework itself? But anyway good job!
Working great so far on my OnePlus 5, OOS 4.5.12, Magisk 14.2, and official Xposed 88.1. I also attached my xposed log for you since you requested some.

I agree, this seems like something that in the end should be fixed within the framework itself.

I'm happy to hear that your phone didn't crash overnight. Did you have the module enabled?
If so, can you share your Xposed log from that night? Right now the module has lots of logging, which I will pare down later, but I'd like to check everything is working fine.

No, it wasn't installed. I'm on open beta, so I don't think this bug applies since my 3T didn't experience a crash as far as I can tell. I'll give my phone a couple more battery cycles and let you know if this bug affects us 3/3T open beta users.

Thanks for the log. Everything happened as I expected on your phone.
I'm not sure if this is an Xposed framework issue. Have you read the technical explanation?
I see the situation this way: @rovo89 publishes the official Xposed framework based upon AOSP sources. Then third parties publish modified Xposed frameworks for specific ROMs. There's Wanam Xposed for Samsung phones. There another one for MIUI. There are surely others.
For us, OOS users, a simple mod using the framework itself is sufficient to make the official AOSP-based Xposed work on OOS. I think this is better than having a forked OOS-specific Xposed framework.

Hmm, you do make a good point, but with the current release rovo is working on samsung and miui compatibility (ex: v88.1). It seems like he is trying to make it as universal as possible instead of having a different version for each phone.
i have the same soft reboot issue. it happens only when the phone is on the charger for a longer time and in flight mode. i'll try your module. thanks!
Working great, no reboots all night. Time for a build without all the debug code in the logs
Working great! Thanks for the fix :good: Slow testing of course because of waiting for full charge and then next another hour of waiting for a crash. Which did not occur anymore, so it works! :good:

Yeah it was a long debugging session...

[Guide] Enable Ambient Display Gestures Using Magisk.

I was looking around for various customisation mods and found this link. I tested it on Havoc OS-Final build and it seems to be working flawlessly with wave to wake function and i am able to customise the watch style using Havoc Settings (Under Lock Screen--> Clock Style). All Credit goes to original Developer for this amazing module. Also attached the file for convenient usage.

Doesn't work on Stock ROM
Doesn't work with Vanilla Stock ROM, Rooted.
I don't know how much different this module is from the one available on official Magisk Module download repo but the latter sure doesn't work. It's for AOSP/near AOSP ROMs. Since Asus is not Android One, doesn't qualify ATM.
worked (Aex v7.3, reloaded A10, maybe other Rom can too), thank you. I extracted the magisk module, then pushed it to /system/priv-app
