Battery consumption overnight xenonhd - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I'm curious to see what kind of battery consumption people are getting on this rom. I'm running it now, and my battery will lose ~10 % over the course of about 6-7 hours of sleep. I just may be use to my old note 5 which would go down maybe 5% over the same amount of time? Also use accubattery app to see average screen on and off % usage per hour:
Screen on: 11.3%/hr
Screen off: 1.8%/hr
Let me know what kind of stats u all have, thanks!

Whatsapp, Snapchat and Instagram are probably the biggest culprits for me, but I had those installed on my old note 5 also. Is yours similar overnight?

I only experience 0-2% drain overnight when I had the 5X. But I was on custom ROMs and my tweaks. Which ROM are you in now?

Lmfao yeah that happens. But you can get Power Saver form the market. It really works. What it does is clock down the processor depending on what profile you set the app to.
Even though, today I haven't used the phone much and it's been discharging from 16 hrs and it's still at 60% (with Power Saver turned off). I've only used it for light texting today and that's it. 3G is what sucks the battery dry. Sometimes I use Edge only (2G) and the battery lasts me a whole day and more. The other day it lasted me a whole 24 hrs and it was still at about 19% left. I'm guessing the battery can last long or short depending on the usage.

With Juggernaut Rom, brightness turned down and web/wifi off I can literally get like 3 days almost if I'm not texting heavily. As soon as I turn internet on I'd say a max of 12 hours. The best battery life I ever got out of it was BeastMod, CPU underlocked to just 1ghz and brightness turned down. Even with web on, still got me almost 2 days - sync off.

Batt stats are very inaccurate, most appear to drain quickly in the first 80% then slowly for the last 20%. However its worth doing an 8 hr charge every so often (preferably with phone off) because battery uptake can get lazy over time. Particularly with Samsung.

Nope, I usually use my phone for music playing and web browsing over wifi.
If I only listen 2 music(8-9hrs a day), the battery goes down to only 35%. And Gaming depends which type of of games are played, in case of HD gaming(which demands more than 40MB RAM. the charge will drop at a rate of abt 10% every half an hr. Based on my daily experience.
Thks for the reply. Nevertheless a good rom. I shall continue even if battery drain abit much.

The post I responded to was talking about gaming + music all day. If 8 hours of music gets you to 35% then it will only take (by your calcs) 1.5 hours gaming to kill the battery inside that same 8 hours. Hence me saying 5-8 hours.

12 hrs is not a good battery life I usually get around 18-22 hrs with moderate use, wifi on for 6-7 hrs. I have removed all the bloatware, which itself eliminates useless battery draining processes.
End of the day it all depends on your settings and use. But Leaked JB is well known for bad battery life. Hope that gets fixed in official release.

My battery life was crap on leaked JB. Cant remember exactly on how long it lasted but it didnt feel long compared to other roms.
At first batterytime was not so good, but after 2-3 charging cycles, and disabling all bloatware it's quite good, easily lasting 2 days with lite to moderate use. Seeing the same on NeatRom Lite 4.0
Debloated, philz kernel and stock battery...
Crap imo. But also seem to have a few wakelocks. eBay I think...

It looks like batterydrain is good when not using the phone much, but not so with more use. I have been using it a bit more than usual today, and after about 7 hours from unplugged, and a little more than 3 hour total screen time (minimum brightness), and 1,5 hour web-browsing, 1 hour playing music, the battery was below 15% (screen using 45% of battery) and I'm really not too happy anymore...

Battery Life Finally!

Battery Life used to be decent at best now custom Rom and tweaks 5+ hours on with 2-3 hours of on screen and only 57% not bad...
Anyone notice a gain in battery on different ROMS?

I have yet to have a phone that did not get improved via battery life from a custom ROM, even just a debloated and streamlined version of the stock one. Fully stock roms tend to just have too much crap on, and in, them to have wrangle out max battery life, max performance, or a truly optimal mix of both.
Using NOS underclocked to 1GHz undervolted 75mv across the board all set to conservative and 10 hours later 3+ hours of screen on data downloading GPS etc 60% Battery Remaining... Very nice

I can't complain. NO Root or Custom Roms...Stock. Pleased and v/surprised at same time. Yesterday was crazy good. Can't remember exact bat stats, but about 2 hrs talk, 20+ SMS and MMS, NO Wifi, NO Bluetooth, maybe 15 min browsing, appx. 15 min GPS and Screen couple hrs. No tricks or apks, just always turn off locations, wifi and bluetooth when not using ans auto-sync always off. Also disabled many bloat apks that I will never use.

I'm getting 16-20 hours with around 4 hours on time. I'm underclocked and undervolted , brightness at 25% most of the time, and I just supercharged my phone so I'm waiting to see if that'll help it. I know I've got my standby battery drain down to one percent every 2.5hours. Left it off the charger last night and it was at 98% when I woke up 5.5 hours later. Just gotta play with the settings and tweaks.

Is keeping Wi-Fi on all the time better for battery?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I get good battery life most of the time. But I am at the ball fields with my kids a lot with no way of charging mine or my wife's phone.
So I got me an Anker portable battery and it saves me all the time. I purchased the Astro E4 13000mAh Dual USB so me and my wife can charge our phones at the same time without looking for a outlet or going to the car. We can both charge our phones 3 times each on this thing before its dead.

As far as battery life is concerned, wifi > 3g > 4g.
But if you're not connected to a wifi network, leaving wifi on will drain your battery. It may not be by much, but I always turn wifi off when I'm not on wifi.

Only getting about 4-5 hours of Screen-on time? This might help!

Hi.
I am used to get about 4h30min-5 hours max but after doing this little trick I am getting 3 hours 20 minutes with 55% battery left.
The trick is to go into settings- apps- all, find android system and force close it. Don't worry, it will start up again immediately but the battery draining process seem to be killed.
Android OS is no longer the one causing the most battery drain. Android system has settled down too. Check it out!
(It seems like I got another problem to solve - Facebook is draining a whole lot now cos it's using the GPS. Still getting amazing battery life though!)

Coming from a Droid RAZR, you learn a lot of tricks to milk battery life. Trust me, the things I had to do to get those numbers aren't worth it. The drop off in the battery graph is when I got home and was able to turn everything back on and use it normally.
Right now, I average 18 hrs battery, and 5 hrs screen-on:
I am on stock ROM 11A.
Rooted and TWRP
Screen brightness set to auto/60% max
GPS and WiFi toggled on when I need it.
Everything on EXCEPT WiFi and Verizon location services
No disabled or frozen system apps or processes.
4 push emails.
I average 600 texts a month.
I average 6-8 GB on 4G a month.

For your Facebook GPS wakelock, let it connect and lock onto your GPS and the wakelock should stop. If you're closing up Facebook before it has a chance to lock, it will create the wakelock. If you don't want FB to connect to your GPS, make sure GPS is off before you open FB. Also, turning off GPS while in FB before it can lock will create the wakelock as well.

Actually, the numbers are legit. I will admit though, I've never been able to get close to that again. My average when I first got the phone was between 6-7 hours screen on time and about 12 hours battery life. Those 2 days, I just happened to be working massive overtime. Almost all of the screen on time was the second day. The dropoff on the graph was when I got home, turned everything on, and actually used it. It also helped that my work provides me a work phone which I was using during that time instead.
I have tried to hit those numbers again, but I can't, it was a one time deal which is why I took a screenshot. In my head, I'm telling my self that the battery is starting to get worn, but the truth is, I can't put it down long enough or put up with all of the disabled features.
The best I've been able to do since then is 18 hours battery life, about 3 hours screen on. And, 7 hours screen on, 10 hours battery. At this point, I no longer care. I'm happy with my 15 hours battery and 4-5 hours screen on.
It would be more if the battery wasn't starting to wear out....
