Brando Curved Glass Protector / Does it have same large bezel as original OP5 glass? - OnePlus 5 Accessories

Hey folks,
does anyone of you have already bough this glass protector?
I'd like to buy it but as I got to ship it to Germany I want to be sure, that it doesn't have such a large bezel as the one from OP.
That one covered up too much of the screen. Then I bought one from China and although the pictures showed a thin bezel it was exactly the same as the OP one. Later they added a note to the article.
So now I'd like to buy this one.
Brando Workshop Full Screen Coverage Curved Glass Protector (OnePlus 5) - Black
Does anyone have any experience with this one?
Thanks.

With such a generic description id guess it's crap like the rest. If a company can't put any effort in the product description id doubt any effort goes in the product itself

Well, in general I would agree but Brando has a really great brand reputation. I don't know if they want to put it at risk. That's the reason why I'm asking.
Had about 15 protectors since the early XDA days and none was bad...

Cheap screen protectors - any good?

Looking at some cheap screen protectors for the Hermes. I have seen these are on eBay at £1.99 for 6. The seller offers "buy 2, get 1 free", so including postage (£1.99 to UK) it works out at 18 screen protectors for £3.98.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290056291809 (or search for item 290056291809).
But are they any good? Or would I be wasting my money?
The general rule is: if a manufacturer sells screen protectors in packs of several, it means the mfg himself does not think it will last for a long time.
Martin Field Overlay Plus lasted 3 years on my SE P800, and wasn't need to be replaced when P800 retired.
Treo 650 screen protectors
I use the one made for the 650 from Palm. Works well, fits well. Lasted well on my Treo.
the multi packs arent any good...and i think you'll be wasting you money...

You may be right. They arrived yesterday, and seem to be of quite good quality. The one I have tried appears to work OK (i.e., it doesn't affect my use of the screen, and it does put a protective layer over the glass screen).
However, the ones which I received are just a little bit too small to cover the screen (about 2.5mm too short and 1mm too narrow), so I will be contacting the seller about this.
I'm not actually worried about how long they last. Even if I have to replace the protector every month, I have enough to last me for 18 months - and I'll certainly be replacing my Vario 2 for a new toy before then!
Then again, I'm still not convinced that I need a screen protector. Before the Vario 2, I have had an XDA Exec, XDA IIi, XDA II and more iPaqs than I can remember. I never used a screen protector on any of them, and I have never ever had any screen problems.
You can get exim spucs off ebay for £3. I highly recommend these.

if you dont mind crying when you scatch your screen, then no!
I can only agree with the other posts I used the cheaper screen protectors in the past, thinking its ok when they scratch I'll just replace it, but it's true you get what you pay for, I have just paid £6 for a single protector and well it's brilliant, it sucked it's self to the screen No bubbles At All, Feels better to use the screen and up to yet not scratches.
ShieldZone's invisibleSHIELD looks really good. Pay once, protect forever.

The Bodyguardz (case protective film) NOT GOOD ???

Hi there
I'm new here and my English is not that good, so sorry for any mistakes I made.
I'm using a T-mobile TP2 (may be not using I just waiting for it to be delivered)
>>>>> I wondered that why there no body talking about " The Bodyguardz "
at all? Is it not good? ( cuz I just purchased 1)
All I heard is the story about the Invisibleshield but according to the pictures
shown in both websites I though that Bodyguardz is more protective because
it also protect the rear sides around the phone. In contrast, the
Invisibleshield is just on the back and front side of the phone.
Moreover, one box of the Bodyguardz has 2 set of the films in it, although
the price per box is higher.
So I just wonder that is it not good? (the Bodyguardz)
I would highly reccomend the bodyguardz skin over any other skin. i had it for my android and the texture and feel is really good. i compared it to my friends invishield and the invishield is not good at all. it makes the screeen not as responsive and it feels sqishy as opposed to bodyguardz that feels hard but not to hard.
customer service at bodyguardz is great. it also comes with to body guards. invishield only comes with one. they both have "free" lifetime replacements.
(i mean invisibleshield)
i use to promote and love zagg but after two mysterious scuff that cant be remove i decide to go with bodyguardz...they are much better plus you get 2 instead of one and shipping is much faster and much better customer service

Thanks, mate it's good to hear that!
Yes, I agree that their services is quite good.
Do you have any special techniques or tips&tricks concerning the installation process to share?
I think it's harder to install the Bodyguardz compared to Invisible shield becaus the Bodyguardz had many small rear pieces.
just few things...
be patient and the blow dryer is your friend. fyi... if you order more bodyguardz dont order the liquid. they will give you one with every order. with that said dont be scared to be generous with the liquid while applying.
You guys helped me to make my decision. I'm going to order a Bodyguardz kit. Thanx.
I also bit the bullet and ordered a Bodyguardz kit--will let you guys know how it goes.
Hi there shawndh and nuron!
Nice to have you guys on board. Hope you could share some experiences or tips & tricks
after you applied it. I'm waiting for it to arrive too and start to worried about the
installation processes.
Don't forget to let us know how it goes. : )
Cheers!
bodyguardz
Hello everyone
Dude, my english is not very strong either lol, since we r both Thai rite, I mean Mr.what150 and I, lol. However, I hav a question.
I just hav my Invisible Shield installed on my standard HTC TP2 and I agreed that I don't really feel comfortable with it, u know, kind of rubber feel
Also, it doesn't cover the whole thing like bodyguardz, just half of the chrome part T_T. Is there any bodyguard on sell on Internet fer mai EUROPEAN standard HTC TP2? If there's any, please.
p.s. somebody says the bodyguards protection quality is not as good as Invisible Shield's ? Is that true ?
what150, mines is schedule to arrive in like September 9th because I picked the free shipping haha. From the instructional videos, it looks like keeping your hands and phone clean and using the solution is the key. For the corners and edges, they recommend using a blow dryer in 5-second intervals in order to get them sticky again if it is too wet.
Zagg for Touch Pro 2
I bought a Zagg invisibleSHIELD for the stock HTC TP2 which is what they had for my T-Mobile TP2 and after one hour got it on as best as I could. Looked like [email protected] Then I read that Zagg was making a T-Mobile model. So I got an RMA number for a HTC model and was told to buy a T-Mobile TP2 one. Well I used the one on my phone and noticed that as time went one the top front cover was peeling back more and more (I keep my phone in my jean pocket). Well I got to look at the Zagg website and I see that the T-Mobile one covers the front and back with no wrap over the top. If this is the case then the peeling will happen again with the new T-Mobile TP2 model. Can anyone confirm this design?
TIA,

Generic Screen Protector for TF

Hi All,
I just found this generic screen protector for TF:
http://poshelpdesk.web137.discountasp.net/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=1609&idcategory=0#details
Never used products from this company before, so kind of hesitant on purchasing it.
Just thought that I pass this info to the forum.
Mike
Found another one on ebay:
http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_kw=scr..._Tablet_Accessories&hash=item45fa4ceff6&vil=1
Still overpriced. I think $6 would be reasonable for a tablet screen protector.
Custom made for Eee Pad
I purchased a custom made one on Amazon yesterday, has all the cutouts according to the listings and has a dry application, Ill give a review once I get it. Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/Asus-Eee-Pad-Crystal-clear-dirt-repellent/dp/B0051401L8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1306422323&sr=8-8

bought the item from ebay for $7.99. If it sucks, i think i can live with it. Right now, it looks so naked without a protector and anything this pretty and naked is asking for trouble.

I snagged it also. What sold me was the statement that it "covers the entire glass area". Not just the screen portion one obviously presumes.

Nillkin Full Body Tempered Glass Screen Protector w/ black frame

To keep from cluttering up the Deff screen protector thread, I wanted to start a thread on the Nillkin Full Body Protector with the black frame.
-I am still awaiting for my shipment to arrive, but wanted a place to discuss this protector further. Once I receive it I will post pics and details about the install if someone else hasn't by then.
I ordered one from ebay for $10.99. They can be found from $10.99 and up here:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...=Motorola+Nexus+6+Nillkin+full+glass&_sacat=0
Official Nillkin Page here:
http://www.nillkin.com/english/proshow.asp?mid=2&sid=0&tid=0&cid=1&scid=13&id=5109&page=1
Its been noted there appear to be 2 versions of images on the ebay listings, both saying Nillkin, but the official Nillkin page above shows the image that has the larger cutout by the speaker for the proximity sensor it seems, while the other ebay image shows a cutout separate for the proximity. Perhaps one of the images is from an early test run, and it has been revised to the newer design on their official site?
P.S. I know there is a thread for "tempered glass screen protectors" with posts regarding this protector, but I wanted a place to only discuss this particular product and share images/reviews of it specifically.
Interested as this states its specifically made to deal with the curve on the N6 screen.
20+ days for shipping?! That pretty ridiculous seeing as how people are ordering protectors from the same region and having them shipped halfway across the world in half the time.
when you do receive it please let us know the total shipping time also. Thanks

The other brands are from the same region, but they have them sent to a warehouse in California to allow faster shipping. Mine was shipped on the 20th and I live in Ohio, so we'll see how long it takes to get here (and hopefully it arrives safely from overseas).
Just ordered a couple will post my experience, my replacement N6 hasnt been too kind to tempered glass protectors as just about every single one has had HALO, only one that didnt was the vzw protector but that was very fragile and cracked after a wk.
Just ordered one for my phone! I will post some feedback when it eventually arrives.
Ordered from this person: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nillkin-C...750?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33a14da66e
Looks like junk. Went to their site and look at some of the graphics.

Remember that in China they just manufacture the products and after that the only difference is the retail packaging.
I had a Nillkin glass protector on my m8 and it was awesome. Great quality and very thick. Whether or not the N6 one is good or not who knows but they do make a good product.

Ha! Now I see it. That's funny. Too lazy to try and make them look real.
Since I always use a case, not sure if these would play well together. I guess a SP that goes to the curve on the side of the screen but not beyond is better for case users.

I have the Ringke Max case and it doesnt lip inwards towards the screen as much. Its support to allow screen protectors, so I hope this one applies too.
the graphics may me questionable.

Guys, really? Its just a graphic illustration of how theirs is "better". Its not supposed to look real. You'll see similar illustrations on nearly every screen protector site.

I would guess that it is a similar/same size as the deff. I use a diztronic tpu case, which has a lip & the deff fits perfectly inside that lip. So perfect that you can't see the edge of the protector. Sorry for the plug of a different brand, just comparing as I think they would be the same size.
Mines in IL 6 hours ago via tracking. I'm in Ohio. Should have it in 1 to 2 days.
I bought one directly from the store in China, should be here super soon. But I'm holding out on it...cashed out a lot for my InvisibleShield HDX and not risking another glass halo TGSP. Will wait for @ryancell to post

Just wondering if anyone has found a good screen protector. I got one off Amazon. Glass temp. But the top doesn't seem to stick as well as it should. I have to press down hard in order to get notifications tab down. Anyone have a good one worth getting??

I don't think you ever will. I've spent today looking at all of the different ones offered on Amazon. Almost all fail fakespot. Most seem to be just rebranded cheap junk from China with fake unverified purchase reviews (and most with the same number of reviews and same pics no less). The rest just seem to be filled with mixed reviews, with most negatives already reflected here on XDA.
If the "official" one from OnePlus isn't very good, I doubt we will find anything better at this point. The case and glass company late comers are finally getting their releases out and I haven't seen any glowing reviews yet.
On a side note, why the heck do they put black borders on these? Bad enough they have to shorten the width because of curved screen, now you have these borders that can actually block content.
