Info on S8+ app lock - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi,
My previous smartphone was an op3 and had a very nice feature : open app with fingerprint or pattern. I tried different apps but none I like or do not have any ads, In your opinion, can you do a porting from the op3 to s8 +?

Not works, other solutions ?

Install Applock from Playstore

Want Fingr print lock?
Install This https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cms.lock&hl=en

Both have publicity

You really don't need Secure Folder Applock, or any other Applock Apps, for S8.
Just set Fingerprint protection, or any other, and all your Apps are safe. If phone is stolen or lost nobody can use Gmap, Whatsapp, etc.... They will be forced to factory reset your stolen, lost phone and your Google/Samsung account is lost forever, on this phone.
No need to make things complex when they are very easy.

Earlier I use samsung's F480 (with BADA OS, I guess). It has an option of locking any one application for eg. messages.
Is there any such software or anything which will allow me do the same.

Not sure what you mean with your thread title. But you can use titanium back up to freeze programs and not allow them to run.
There is tons of apps in market that allows you to lock apps with password.
My favorite is this one Application Protection.

Blocking camera

Hello All,
I've been trying long time to block the camera.
What I'm trying to do is to block it so no other app could use it.
but - The block should not be permanently
After rooting and mounting the device for RW, I have tried to rename the driver folder in the following path: sys/devices/virtual/camera but this doesn't work because there are no permissions to edit these files (kernel?).
I really hope that someone here have idea how to solve this issue.. must be a way to crack it..
Thanks,
Put black tape over the camera, easy, cheap, not permanent.
Boom.

can't use that option.
Use Titanium Backup app to "freeze" camera app.
If you ever need it again, just "defrost".
Done

Obvious solution - don't use any apps that require the permissions for camera control.
Alternatively get the app 'Permissions Denied' (free) from Play store and revoke camera control from the apps in question.
You can do it manually / scheduled too by removing the corresponding Group (every permission is a Unix Group) from the App's Username (each app has it's own username in the format app_[APPID])

I can't use the "obvious solution" you mentioned..
I have tried "permissions denied" app, I even tried the pro version.. This doesn't work.. ..
Do you familiar with another app?
what about simple command in the emulator?
must be a way... what is it??

Disable exchange security mod?

Hello people,
I know there is a mod to disable security on stock email exchange app, but I am not able to find the single mod to use/install/flash over the current setup I have. Some ROMs feature this mod as a standard, but not ARHD.
Can anyone show me the right way or tell me how to get this mod to work on the note 2?
Here you go:
http://db.tt/347dsPGQ
You need to copy it to system/apps/ the change permissions to rw, r, r and owner to root/root. Use something like root explorer.
Then reboot into recovery wipe dalvik cache and reboot.
Also make sure you remove all exchange accounts before coping thw file.

Exactly which Exchange Security features are disabled?
All of them?
Does it prevent the admin from executing a remote wipe?
Any documentation I can look at?

+1. Would like to know what exactly is disabled. I'm kinda freaked by the possibility of someone remotely erasing my device or forcing me to use pin/password etc.

It will only disable the need for a pin lock. The device administration is still active.

Thanks Dekala, that answers my question. Unfortunately this means for my purposes this hack is useless.
For the rest of you that share my sentiment over Information Security Personnel having the ability to wipe your device remotely, there is a "lesser" evil.
That is, buy Touchdown HD. Though I havent tested it yet, from what I've read so far, if the Admins decide to remotely wipe your device, it will only wipe the Touchdown Exchange Account files. It wont wipe your device, just the corporate mail account files.

Sorry Guys I uploaded the wrong apk check now
as for kitkat I am doing tests for compatibility
Cool, works now. Nice work, wyk02!
I hid Xposed and SuperSU for Snapchat and logins are still blocked.
I'm pretty sure most people are gonna try that, so I'll save you five minutes.

Snapcheck checks for Xposed (because of Snapprefs), but I guess they don't check for the app. Just noting that for anyone who tries it; saving time.
Hy there,
This module caused a heavy lag/freeze and bootloop for me. Managed start the phone again (idk how), and removed it from xposed, now everything's working fine.
Phone: Sony Z2 (D6503) with pre-rooted android MM (6.01)
This works perfect to hide @Shaftamle keyboards from play services so they don't fc. Thank you!!
Did it works for hide Snapchat?
Android Pay would be another nice app if this would work using this method. I know I've tried others like root cloak etc. and other methods but they don't work unfortunately.

Hello,
Sadly it's still laggy, and still causes bootlop.
I try to post a log from mega (file was too big for pastebin, and I don't know how to upload it here yet)
mega.nz/#!EYcklQBK!thsSDn0V7CS4lykUTdFr6gP9g27OOjQQsAYGW2Wtx8k
And ofc I don't have enough posts
Tried hiding Messenger from Facebook and it worked lol.
Tested on Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 TW 4.4.2
Just a little suggestion ....
Add a little note for example; color the row of the app that's been hidden from any other app so you know which apps are hidden just by opening the main apps menu.

If i can suggest one more thing [emoji5] ...
When you select an app from the main menu, then get into the 2nd internal one; remove the auto focus on the text box so that you dont have to see the keyboard everytime.
And show a toast message to say for example "the app is hidden now" when you press the button.
Thanks so much for your work.

upload new versions if you'd like to check again. it fixed a bootloop on my device which happened after a system crash (some weird case)
turns out it was class cast exception on a return argument, and the caller turned out to be system app.

Calculator App?

I was surprised that there isn't a stock calculator app. What lightweight ad free app are people using for calculator?
There is a stock calculator. It is just hidden in the toolkit app in the app drawer. I dragged it out to the home screen, and it is pretty similar (the same?) as the Google calculator. Just a different color.

Is there a way to get it out of the toolkit app? It's a bit annoying having to go into it every time to use the built in calculator.

I can't tell if it happened immediately after the last nougat update or recently. I can see it in system apps using solid Explorer but cannot start it. Solid Explorer claims it's corrupt.
