Based on latest LOLLIPOP with MICRO GAPS and OPEN GAPS 1024 x 600 and 800 x 480 from @dsa8310.
Sharing with you my custom modified rom with LP image.

- added screen saver with speed, clock and apps shortcut ported from well known developer @Malaysk (null null still present)
(if someone need: screen saver in the attachement - replace with root explorer: system - app - mtcscreenclock

- 1024 x 600 resolutions has different radio and bluetooth apk
- included all xposed modules and fast google maps
- remember to enable all xposed modules and copy folder contents to external gps card!!!

All configuration files must be on the external map in the mtc-manager directory.
1. The module carries the functionality of xposed-mcu , which does not allow the radio to go to sleep during the scrolling of the starter.
- when receiving a signal to turn off the module delays for 5 seconds, if at that moment the power reappears, nothing happens, in the absence of power, the radio recovers into sleep.
Due to the features of the implementation of the inclusion in our MCU, the screen goes out for the time of voltage failure.
This functionality can be disabled in settings.ini:

2. The module has a white list of applications that does not allow the system to close necessary services and applications when going to sleep and when pressing the "Acceleration" button in the blind. Thus, the module allows to refuse from using mtc-wakeup-service .

It may not work on all firmware.

Also the screensaver will not start when talking on the phone, the rear view camera, navigation and turning off the radio.
If instead of a beautiful clock MTCSreenClock.apk a screensaver with a standard digital clock on a black background is called, you need to make sure that the MTCScreenClock application is installed.
If the application is installed, you can try setting screenPackage and screenClass parameters in settings.ini
5. Also in the module there is a "backup" for correct sound adjustment in MTC-Volume and MTC-Service .

6. Re-designation of OBD-device bluetooth.
Device names must be listed in the settings.ini file in obd_device parameter, separated by commas, in the form in which they are visible in the standard hands-free application. You can specify not names, but parts of names, for example:

7. Set the list of programs that are switched by the MODE button,

For correct sound switching, the applications used must be managed (play / pause) programmatically via intents. If the player does not support the start and stop playback of external intents, then you have to manually switch the sound.
When you click on the MODE button, the active application is searched for in the running list. Next, the application is sent a command (configurable in mode.ini) to close or pause the audio stream. After that, the default activation for the next application is launched and the application is sent a command to start playback (also configured in mode.ini)

Is it clean install, all apps/data are going to be wiped and must be installed again?
Is there a way to backup current firmware/apps, like twrp image or something (in case something goes wrong)?

Backup with titanium backup all your apps you want.
wipe data/factory reset from recovery, then flash the image with clear all
With titanium backup restore your apps back, thats it.

1. Did you activate xposed mtc manager module in xposed app ?
2. Can you post picture, I didn't experienced this issue on my unit using the same image...
3. Please note this is 1024 x 600 resolution image...flashing on 800 x 480 can couse this issues you have...

I added screen saver in latest version. But still don't know why you have problems with resolution. I can upload stock apps and you can try if there is also problem or not...
What are the performance benefits from the dsa8310 rom on a 1gb ram headunit?
I'm currently running dsa8310 latest 5.1.1. on my 1gb headunit. What sort of advantages will I see if I flash to your rom?

Hard to say without knowing the exact version of his ROM youre running currently, but generally its a good idea to update the software as it is on any computer/smartphone/tablet. You shouldnt have to wipe data if youre already using it.
Read the thread to see the improvements that have been made recently - he lists them all.

Could you check whether 800 x 480 img file is properly formatted ? I'm unable to mount or extract it. Getting an error saying the img file is corrupted. Will try to download again and try.

1) I'm unable to see the task bar/notification drawer at the top. I'm on the default launcher. Do i need to enable it anywhere ? Check the photos below:

2) I couldn't find google maps installed by default. So i installed the latest version from the play store. Its working fine (fast and responsive), but it doesn't show up in the selection list when i press the navi button on the player (to set it as the default navigation app). 1. Hm...really don't know what happend to statusbar... try to disable / untick all xposed modules and reboot to see if some of xposed modules is cousing problems... I hope you did wipe all data / factory reset and then clear all and install from usb/sd and after that you can try wipe all data again and reboot, but everything should work because it's the same image from dsa's just added all the xposed modules...,
2. Yes, I forgot it, I updated image again and here: just copy folder in the rar with root explorer to system/app and change permisions just Maps.apk to r-r-w (664) reboot.
Try just to find your launcher in the android settings - apps and clear data.

This said, i have a question : What's the difference between the first firmware (released 14/08 i think) that works really good on my unit RK 3188 (1024*600) and the release of today ?
Also my only "problem" is the text "null null" (like here : https://ibb.co/dL3dU5) on the screensaver which i think it correspond normally to the weather in Malaysk's rom. So i tried to install the weather app provided by Malaysk called "MTCWeather.apk" but it does not work. I have to precise that the display of the speed works OK.
Does this new release correct this little issue ?

There is no so much difference, just added new screen clock, but there will be still null null. It won't work because it's settings are part of android settings from Malaysk.
You should try lockclock apk (its related to weather app)
If you find a solution I can update system image to get weather fully working, but I was not bothering with that, because then system will also use more ram etc...I will try to remove the null null item...

@Hal9k_'s MTCD ROM has a screen lock, I asked him how he did it and he said he just added back the original Android code.
EDIT : Lol, stupid me you said "lockclock" not screen lock ! Doh !

what is ad hoc? ad hoc is peer to peer connection between two wifi without the need of access point router, so u can use wireless tether on another android, and you can play remote control tools like ar.drone

i have set my own provider dns in build.prop file.. you must change it according to your own provider DNS, above patch make dns back to google DNS, i suggest you to edit it and find the right DNS according to your provider.. otherwise data / internet will not work

Just trying this build, and for me this is one of the best build i ever tried...
testing for a while, and so far everything works like charms...thanks lesjaw....
this is a few things that i found in this build...
Themes is fantastis
Mobile Network works like charms, for the very first time i can browsing without have to change anything, like ppp ect
Camera and Camcoder works perfect, green image or anything
Very Fast
CMIIW, but so far this build is already 99% english
There is no problem with scynch, either with time, or facebook contact (i have that problem before)
Screenshots are dead? just two "x"s ??

what language do you want? it is possible but currently not so many language are avalaible..
I'm switching from MIUI free beer and woman 5/11 , ofcourse I can switch with my current data.img .
One thing is making me anxious, it's the battery.
How much does it consume on standby ? on MIUI 5/11 it shows 3-4 mA ..
It's almost better than in WinMo .. I will give this one a shot and I hope it satisfy my needs

usually i get around 5 ma in standby.. i have tweetdeck with FB and Twitter account sync for every 3 minutes, 3 Gmail account, i account is a high traffic mailist..almost hundreds to thousand emails a day..
in my experience most of MIUI build has the same battery consume on standby..

Personally, i love the battery icon in this build, especially when charging...
for percentage, u can download batteryindicator.apk from market...
but what do you mean by "animation between screens?"

no..i'm sorry..all MIUI build cant do themes.. we must manually add it to framework-res.apk .. anyway this build is base on N1 RodrigezStyle which is modified enough.. i'm really sure if we can apply the theme it breaks the build..

and because it is now stable and an actual improvment to the old 5.8 build.
this is the basic rom. everything works. there is still a few 100 mb to be removed as i finish cleaning things up. and it needs a rewrite to the aroma installer. but for now its a good clean start.
based on 4.4.4 (freeza's deodex)
all features from 5,8 build except aroma installer.

Installation instructions
NEW INSTALL PROCEDURE (simplified):
wipe data / factory reset.
flash 5.8.zip
that is the only file you need.
when you flash it , you will see options for part 1 and 2.
install part 1.
reboot to system.
flash 5.8.zip
install part 2.
choose options,
fix permissions, reboot.
the new installer will walk you through the install easily and quickly.
MY INSTALL PROCEDURE:
Figured I'd write these down so that there was no confusion. These are the steps I take to ensure a proper install.
There may be other methods that work just fine, however, this works every time for me and is most compatible.
If you have any problems.. before you get angry, you may want to try this way first.
While doing this, it's safe to ignore all references to "unable to mount '/usbstorage.'" This is just recovery looking for a usb otg device.
Nothing to worry about here. Just pretend it doesn't exist. It's looking for a usb stick or hd.
1. >Copy minin3.mj4.R4x.zip to your memory card. (internal or external - I use the external card for backups and rom installs,
and have never run into an issue though my card is only 16gb. If you have any issues here try from the internal card and remove the external.
In my case external_sd/roms/minin3/minin3.mj4.R4ultimate.zip)
2. >Boot phone to recovery. (from power off - volume up+home+power)
I use TWRP recovery Version - 2.6.3.7. However, if you run into issues you may try going back to version - 2.6.3.2
3. >press "wipe"
>press "advanced wipe"
>check "Dalvik Cache" , "System" , "Data" , "cache"
(you may be able to get away with not wiping data, but once again, I highly recommend it)
>swipe to Wipe
>look for "wipe complete successful" at the top of the screen
(once agian ignore all references to "unable to mount '/usbstorage')
>press "back"
>press the little house icon in the bottom left (sort of anyway)
>press "reboot"
>press "recovery"
>swipe to reboot
>press "do not install"
(phone will then reboot back to recovery)
4. >press "install"
>navigate to your rom file
(in my case, I pressed on the grey bar that says "storage: internal storage" and selected "micro sdcard" (the external sd)
I then selected the folder "minin3" from the bottom box, then the file "minin3.mj4.R4ultimate.zip")
>swipe to confirm flash
(ignore "unable to mount /usbstorage")
>wait aprox 1-3 minutes while it does its thing.. you should then see "successful" and some buttons
>press "reboot system"
5. >Initial phone setup is optional. In my case, I just skip it all and log in after. Works both ways.
(either way, get through the setup wizard until you are on the desktop)
>boot back into recovery (either power off, or reboot and hold vol+ and home)
6. >press "install"
>navigate back to the rom file (for me once again minin3/minin3.mj4.R4ultimate.zip)
>swipe to confirm flash (give it a minute to do its thing)
>press the little home button again in the bottom left
7. >press "advanced"
>press "fix permissions"
>swipe to confirm (this should be very quick)
>press "reboot system"
8. phone should boot to dashboard
9. >now would be a good time to also open both viper4android apps and let them install the drivers
>choose whatever setting you like for viper4android and choose cortex neon for xhifi.
At this point you should be ready to go with all the major stuff ready and known bugs squashed.
11. >reboot
12. >enjoy MiniN3 v5.4
(If dirty flashing (not wiping before hand - epecially data) you still may want to boot and flash a second time, and then fix permissions in case I missed anything.. it won't hurt either way)
UPDATE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS>
FULLY INSTALL PREVIOUS VERSION (in this case 5.4)
then reboot to recovery, flash the update, and before rebooting go to advanced>fix permissions.
then reboot.

Apparently issue was taken with how we were running the thread.
In an attempt to keep us in the rules the following changes were made.
Even though all users were getting updates as I thought they were stable. We are not allowed to have anything that looks like your paying to get extra features.
Some issues were also taken with the donation wording.
Until we decide a final solution. This is what will happen for the immediate future.....
ALL CONTRIBUTORS have been moved to the "test group"
For you guys nothing really changes.
The folder your using stays the same though the label will change from contributor folder to test folder.
New additions to the test group will be at my discretion only. Anyone may contact me by PM or email and ask for a slot. I can accept or deny them at will.
From time to time I will invite users from the thread who have shown a commitment to the rom.
I will also invite those who contribute something useful to the rom. (If they have work in it they should have access at all points)
The test group will then continue the same job as the contributor group was doing previously. Really for this part it's just a name change. As things are deemed stable (by me again no one else gets a say here) they will be released to everyone.
I'm not sure how else this will effect the future of this rom on xda. Though I will be maintaining development for my own use anyway.
So for the moment. As far as you guys are concerned. No real changes.

yes i have not messed with the theme, yet.
however wanam xposed is installed so you can change pretty much any color in the whole rom easily.

thats what i like to hear. version two coming in the next day or so. mostly done.another 80 mb removed but added some functionality back.
re added gallery mostly just so it was possible to change lockscreen wallpaper. cleaned up some bugs added some smaller stuff back. still looking like right around 550mb with some of the functions returned.i am going to keep the stock installed apps very light but want it to come out of the box with everything needed to use.anything else can just be grabbed from the market. just finishing up what to add back.and finding a place to host it and get it uploaded with my slow poke internet,

To get root access, you have to type in Factory settings instead of 126 -> *#hct#root# and then ok (just once!).

It's open gaps version because kitkat doesn't need micro g with 1 gb of ram. If someone else will be interested in MicroG I will give a try

I've tested the ROM and everything is working well.
Screensaver don't work, I've activate the modules and placed the folders on GPS Card.
But the Screensaver don't appear.
To get root acsees , you have to type in Factorysetings instead of 126 -> *#hct#root# and then ok.
Overall a good ROM with some cool futures, hope you can fix the screensaver issue.

I installed and tested 800 x 480 version on my RK3188 unit. Most of the functions are working flawlessly. Noticed a couple of things that i wanted to let you know:
1) The bluetooth app appears out of scale on the screen. Number 0 in the dial pad is cut off, and the refresh button on the contacts is also not visible. Please have a look at the screenshots below:

First of all, many thanks to Malaysk for this great firmware. Probably the best firmware for KI Pros with Widevine L3.
It is posible to extract the apk of your DTV app to install in another firmware? It has more better UI than the stock one.

If you want oscam shareable over the network give a try to LibreELEC. It has TVHeadend and Oscam. (I can't post with links. Search in the web)
You can also install LibreELEC in a micro SD card and keep the Malasyk's rom in the nand, to get the best of both OS.
Thanks for the job, but, as I get to see the weather info on the launcher but not when I'm watching the SAT? It's a povo annoying to watch a movie and have the weather fixed
Thanks work all perfecto except kodi that have image with judder or little jump , spmc work better for 3.0 versión , in 2.5 kodi work 100 %. Your dtv work very well

Thank you for the custom rom which in my humble opinion is a vast improvement over the stock firmware but I have a couple of questions:
A) Has anybody been able to get the channel editor to work with the custom rom? When I try I get ‘Failed to pull ‘/data/data/th.dtv/dvb_s_mw_s1’.
B) Does anyone know of an android tv remote app that can control the functions of the box.All the ones I have tried fail to find the box on my network.

All my firmware is based on the manufacturer's on the factory firmware. The last firmware was made on the basis of the factory firmware from September 5, 2017. Here she is factory firmware from September 5, 2017 - https://yadi.sk/d/VBSXohsx3PfSd3

you are developer ... if you dont know why this files listed .. just say i dont know... not any firmware over the net are trusted.. and i think you agree with... this why i am asking you...

one things more... do you have any android 6.0.1 for this box. so can use other system.img for uncorex or vision smart pro as they are with engima2 and no fault with audio sysnc

I extract and compared Original Flash able Firmware from Mecool from date " KI_PRO_AVL6862-NMF26Q-20170519.183520.V0321.img" there are no such File inside lib at all..
But the firmware i posted above and its OTA had this file... but i am not sure what are those file for, and why they are in lib. developer of this custom firmware seem he don't know too..
for more sure i will never play this based firmware unless i know what for this file and its content.. as i said other boxes never had such teetz and neither mr google .. .

The malaysk firmware is suitable for dvb-c as it allows you to enter the frequency,ssid and NetID.
Project Stand alone Linux DVB-S2-T2-C Engima2 on S905D KI Pro
First Thank to Malaysk for his Custom Rom.
all of you know engima2 are basis of Linux Sat receiver, i mentioned above my post. i searched and found 2 Firmware for same developer One from date 20170412 belong to 1/8 GB S905D and other one 20170922 belong to 2/8 GB S905D , both are included the requires "lib" inside the apk.
from 04.22 just the DVBS2-T2-C with Oscam biss. power..etc. but the one from 09.22 are the same onky it include IPTV too with all ibs. interesting ..
important : as these apk stand alone . so need to chmod the i2c bus in init_amlogic,rc
