Can't access my phone and TWRP shell doesn't seem to work... (sh: [cmd]: not found) - Lenovo Vibe K5 Questions & Answers

Hey fellas! I'm having an embarrassing, kinda weird but yet simple problem...
First of all, you need to know I disabled the system default keyboard to use exclusively Smart Keyboard Pro. Everything was going good, as IME's always had worked as expected, until now.
Last night phone run out of battery and shut down. When I turned it back on, I tried to put the password and I've encountered a very particular issue: Only Google Voice was available, which is exactly the IME that doesn't work at the lock screen. Obviously, I can't switch to SKP as the device is locked and ADB won't recognize my phone (didn't tried Download mode yet).
What can I do to fix this? I tried to run Shell commands on TWRP Terminal but none of them worked ("sh: [cmd]: not found").
Maybe enable/set default SKP from ADB? Disable Google Voice? Delete password flashing some zip file?
DISCLAIMER: I know exactly what the password is, I'm only trying to fix this (honestly very stupid) issue!

Success!
Thanks for all the replies!
As shiryd suggested, I finally found the right zip file to get rid of the password.
Nice!

LBE Security Locks up device *Solution*

Hi all, originally this was to be a plea for help since I installed LBE Security only to have it lock up my device (AOKP 5.1 Preview ROM)
I failed to uninstall it via ADB (probably because I am an idiot rather than it being uninstallable) and I couldn't use my phone.
My phone would boot fine and operate normally until LBE started, as soon as that happened it froze and returned me to the lock screen. Lock screen would be unresponsive and crack (go black) and relaunch, This loop continued for a while before the phone would reboot to CWM. Attempts to uninstall via ADB were fruitless although that's probably because I am a muppet and was not doing it right!
HOWEVER I managed to fix it, so for anyone in a similar position try this.
Reboot Recovery
Fix Permissions
There, that was simple wasn't it! Don't know WHY I decided to try that but it had rebooted to recovery so I thought might as well try! Permissions has previously fixed a few spontations issues for me so this is a reminder to all. If you have a problem! Try fix permissions!
Anyway, this thread will most likely be buried deep into XDA never to be seen again but on the off chance it helps someone I'll post it here.
Cheers for being a great community XDA

I messed up, please help

Long story short i deleted my data/app file(accidentaly). Sony xperia S android 4.2.1 i think... Dont ask how that happened. So right after i deleted it by mistake everything started crashing many apps stopped working. Immediatly after doing that i restored a restore point and rebooted. As you would expect my phone is password protected, but when i klick the password slot id doesnt show the keyboard nor the option to change keyboard because i was using swift key keyboard. Now i cannot enter my phone, so i think that i should do s factory reset but i cant do that. I know that i saw a factory reset option on the sony software updater on my pc because i wanted to update my phone. Also when i tried to root my phone i could not flash it some broken driver issue (was not able to fix) so i finally rooted it with the root tool kit. Well please help me with this. Also i assume that the restore point didnt work. Please help :crying: :crying:
Hmm. So you deleted your /data/app folder and most of the apps are gone? Whoops! lol And you are rooted. Do you have a custom recovery? I'm assuming so since you said you tried to restore a backup, is that correct? It would probably just be easiest to factory reset in recovery as that will remove the password and then when it boots, you can restore the keyboard app. Other option is trying to remove the password in recovery (has to be custom) with adb commands as you won't be able to while booted due to the password.

Well the thing is that im not near a pc for the next few days, but i have a tablet which has the device input to usb output cable. So i was wondering if theres a app that turns my android tablet into a keyboard for my phone. Ive been looking but only found bluetooth and wireles keyboard wich wont do me any good since my phone is locked. Also is there an app that could hack my phone since its rooted.
Pretty sure you're out of luck without the PC.

Factory Mode

I've been battling this issue for a few hours now being my resourceful self scavenging the web for information and ideas to try. However I am reaching a roadblock on this issue so I'm hoping somebody here is able to help me out.
My friend dropped off a tablet for me to look at today. He said that it did something during an update and wouldn't work normal again afterwards. The tablet boots up normally but is missing lots of basic functionality (Keyboard, settings crashes on some tasks, cant add a google account, play store..ect) The tablet was rooted but doesn't seem to get root privileges now. Strange thing when i hold the volume down it comes up into "factory Mode" I don't believe this is what is suppose to happen because all the videos i watch goes into fastboot/recovery mode.
To save you some time...Things that i have tried:
-Reset to factory Settings
-Clear eMMC via Factory Mode
-Tried a few programs(nexus toolkit,Skipsoft Toolkit) I could do any ADB tasks but anything that it needs to boot to fastboot for it fails, which really limits what i can do with these tools.
-Installed Google Keyboard via ADB command on PC Win7/8, Installed Terminal trying to disable Factory Mode and Enable User Mode however unable to do this without Root Privileges.
One last thing i have yet to try waiting until the 28th to get my hands on another identical tablet. Was going to try to make an android backup file and then restore it with the non-working tablet. Not sure if this would do anything but figured it might be worth a shot.
Sorry for the long post but wanted to explain the situation correctly. I will post pictures with the detail on the tablet. This is my first post on here so hopefully my explanations are clear enough!

Boot Loop on Kyocera Hydro Icon

I ordered my Kyocera Hydro Icon from Freedompop and got it yesterday. I tried Root Genius, which seemed to work (by which I mean it asks me if I want to give root access to apps that need it, but does not allow user of the "su" command in Terminal Emulator). I then used a root app uninstaller and uninstalled a couple very harmless seeming things that the app said was safe to remove. Various forums said safe to remove. However, after doing that I'm now on a boot loop.
I did a factory reset from the boot menu (hold buttons, go to wipe data, etc.). However, my system still has the same issue and reboots unless I'm in Airplane mode (for the record, many people have reported this, and it's pretty obvious that some company triggers a reboot remotely when they don't like what they see on your phone, and that's why disconnecting prevents reboot). There were some Freedompop apps I uninstalled before, and they are still uninstalled after factory reset. I probably can't even return the phone because the KingoRoot app is installed and I can't remove it. I installed SuperSU, not sure exactly how it works, but it keeps telling me it wants to update and I can't go out of airplane mode to use the Internet.
So, after spending over 24 hours straight on this problem, frustrated the entire time, I found my way here. Though I was skeptical (having had much bad luck so far), I thought maybe a stock ROM would work. However, all links to any kind of ROM for this device on these forums were dead.
My understanding is the source was released for this device here:
tiny url .c om / ppbnlwo (used tinyurl to make it shorter so I could post it; goes to Kyocera Developer Support Downloads)
I'd like to know the following:
1) Will a ROM fix my device, removing Kinguser and all root-related changes I made?
2) Is there a ROM that someone can provide me with (along with instructions hopefully) to help me with this?
Thank you.

Secure boot confusion

Hey hey,
I have a problem with the encryption on my ROG Phone.
Whenever I get a new device, one of the first things I do is to enable the requirement of a password before booting.
This worked for a while but is now miraculously disabled with apparently no way of enabling it?
Before I could only see a black screen where I was prompted to enter my password. Nothing else worked, which is desired.
Now after having changed exactly nothing myself it boots completely on its own without the need of a password and then asks for one to access the phone.
I feel that this is a security risk. Any know ways of fixing this except for a factory reset?
