Anyway to add button to navbar that toggles the notification panel? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Themes, Apps, and Mods

Looking for an APK if possible or if anyone could point me in the right direction to have this feature on my navbar versus having to reach to the top of the phone to swipe down.

hi. you can use custom navigation bar from the play store. I use it and it works great.

I can just highly recommend using a third party launcher like nova and a simple swipe down gesture to open the notification bar.

I have BxActions app installed. (re Bixby button)
I have configured the Bixby button to
one press.... back
double press... Notifications
long press... settings tray /tiles
As i use Nova Prime launcher
i can call Google Assistant
on any page or web page.
Unfortunately i have paid version o bxActions
that adds extra functionality.
With only Bixby home disabled
the above back, notification, settings tray works fast and no hiccups.
Above is just something to consider
if you wanted to.

Are you annoyed by accidental navigation key clicks?

I am using a Galaxy Nexus. Most of the time, keys on the navigation bar are not touched by accident. But when playing a game I often touch the soft key accidentally. Because many games require to touch controls on the edge of the screen, which is very close to the navigation bar. iOS, on the other hand, does not have this problem, because apps use the full screen, and there is one hardware button. Also, I often accidentally swipe up from the bottom to launch Google Now, when actually I wanted to scroll up. There is no menu to disable that swipe up action, except disabling the Google Now. I want to use Google Now but not by swiping up. I would prefer just a icon on my home screen to launch Now.
I already saw some custom ROMs have a feature to toggle the navigation bar, but I think there must be some official solution to this. The solutions I can think of;
1. The custom ROM way. Add toggle menu to the power menu.
2. Make the buttons as physical buttons not capacitive buttons.
3. Add another physical key on the side to enable/disable navigation bar.
4. Swipe from left to right on the navigation bar to lock it. Swipe again to unlock it.
5. Long pressing Home toggles the navigation bar. On first long press, the home button is changed to a lock icon. To unlock the bar, long press the lock icon.
6. Or Google Now is launched by long pressing of the multitasking button.
What do you think? Do you have the same troubles?

You can kinds of disable it using SwipeLaunch Disabler.

Honestly probably all nexus owners experience this problem although I personally give it up for awesome stock launcher and features and being able to easily hack it.

instead of home button

please tell me how to set to go to home without home button. i could use gestures with gmd gesture control (as i have bought it) but my problem is i dont have any idea on what way to set it. if i choose double tap i have trouble while typing. if i do it by swiping down and left for exampe i have trouble while scrolling the page. please tell me another way to do it. i prefer it to be with one finger. you can tell me a way to do it with gmd app or whichever other app.
or tell me if there is a way to enable on screen navigation bar (soft keys) on note 2 jelly bean. i have tried editing the built.prop file but keep getting systemui crashes.

Themer menu

Hi I love theme and so far it has been working very well for me with limited bugs. However I have one big issue with the design. I frequently accidentally open the themer menu by long pressing the screen when I'm trying to interact with widgets or other on screen elements. It is especially cumbersome when dealing with apps that create on screen overlays . I really like how Nova allows you to choose how to open their menu. Even if you don't change how the menu is opened can you change the long press delay. I feel if it was a little longer, like the stock Google launcher it would be perfect.
Themer with Nova Launcher? Dont know what you mean.

Hi,
Are you sure you are long pressing on the homescreen and not double tapping? You are able to disable the double-tap gesture in the Gesture settings (via the Themer Settings) however the long press gesture is built into the app. In the future this gesture might be added to the gesture list. Sorry for the inconvenience.

No I have disabled the double tap gesture. I just wish I could also disable the long press gesture or even increase the long press delay just slightly. Thanks for the information though.

Back button App for LG V10?

Hi guys
just checking if anyone knows whether there exists a stand alone app that can be used to simulate the soft back key or the home key in the Android navigation bar? I am not refer to those virtual back button apps.
I am asking because the LG V10 does not have hardware keys but it has a secondary screen, I can put such Back Button App on the second screen and disable the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen (LG V10 can hide the navigation bar).
I know there is an app for Samsung Edge phone to support the back/home button on the Edge's second screen. unfortunately, that app is only for Edge phone.
I know in the Play store, there are many virtual back button apps. All of them will put a virtual button some where on the screen. that is not ideal for my purpose.
Please let me know if anyone knows or can develop one.
Thanks
Try LMT launcher. You can set up your own configuration and it doesn't block your screen at all - swipe from any portion you set up.

Thanks for the suggestion, I installed the Pie Control from Google Play store as the LTM launcher is not there.
The Pie Control serves the purpose well. awesome!
Thanks!
I hide mine, enabled when using the launcher, when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen it shows and you can use the virtual buttons. I prefer that over the other options.

I'm looking for this too. I installed MyHomeButton from the play store and was able to put a home and recent softkey on my second screen, but now I still need a back button.

All in one gestures on the playstore allows you to create a back soft key that you can add to the second screen.
really need a back button and home button.
I think they should have put a home button right where the big LG symbol is on the bottom of the phone.
@Amd4life Exactly! Why not use that extra hardware space to put in extra buttons? Home, back, recent apps, shortcut key...

Android - how to simulate long press of home button

Hi, I'm trying to simulate a long press of the home button in order to launch 'Google now on tap' as my phone (elephone p9000, stock 6.0, rooted) has got rid of the navigation bar in favour of a single capacitive button, which uses the long press function to launch recent apps instead of Google now on tap and I can't find any other way to launch this service. You can bring the navigation bar back but this interferes with other functionality I have set up now. Can anyone please tell me either an app that can run a script to simulate the home key long press or alternatively another way to create a shortcut to launch Google now on tap as right now I'm having to go into settings reactivate the navigation bar, long press home and then deactivate it after. Not exactly streamlined! Thanks for any advice.
Would be great to be able to assign Google now on tap to the fast access Button on the left. I miss it myself and dont want to use one Screen Navigation.

There's actually 2 very straightforward ways of doing this, one of which is I thought I'd tried but obviously not very well. You can launch the Now on Tap feature by assigning it to a gesture in either LMT pie control or another 3rd party app called All In 1 Gestures. If this isn't clear just ask.
Anybody figured this? What would the shortcut show up as using a third party app. I can see Google but how would you access Google now on tap? Doesn't show up as a shortcut.
