LYB - OS Android / halo keyboard - Lenovo Yoga Book Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi all,
I have an issue with the "right click" on the halo keyboard. Before I have chatted with fb support from Lenovo.
Their solutions were: 1) try with the rectangles on the side from the touch pad on halo keyboard (picture). My answer: I don't have rectangles, just 5 dots (picture)
2) You see the five dots below the space bar? the dots in the middle is for you to scroll up and down, left and right. You will start movie from the middle then move towards where you want to scroll. The two dots on the left and right are for the click. Try it. My answer: I'am trying to correct a word wich was misspelled using the option "right click" on it. But following these steps, seems like doesn't work
Now you know what I have tried. Is there an option a I didn't see or try it before? any hotkey? or crtl+? lol
Thank you!

Last update from Lenovo:
Sorry about that. Windows does have the left and the right click, however the android version does have the scroll only. You could try holding the option from the screen then see if you will get options popped up.
My answer: **** I would like to ask to someone from the IT (I don't know if this is the way to do it).
It is very important when you write or efit not to switch from one to another.
Is like having a mouse and the touch pad, to do certains things you have to switch from one to another.
It is ok, there is solution for the issue. But it is not correct, there is a correct way on windows, but need to be also on this kind of device too.
Please if its not here to elevate this complaint/ask, tell me where to.
Thank you
Sorry for your lost time reading this, but might help someone else with this issue

[Q] how to turn off copy/paste?

Hi All,
Is there a way to diabled the new copy and paste feature?
I ask because I can not longer edit text, if i make a typo and touch to move the cursor back, it just highlights the entire word. Touch it again ans it de-selects.
This annoyence is compounded by the lack of left and right cursor keys to move though text.
Is it just me or does anyone find this annoying?
Thanks
Dave
Hi
I just accidently found the answer to my question.
If you are editing text, say for a text message, touch the text and keep you finger/thumb on the screen. I little green text curser appears above where you are touching.
You can then drag this to the correct place in the text that you wish to edit.
Thanks Everyone.
Dave
Yep i already knew that
Sometimes is good to actually read the little intro or some tips and tricks in the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 page. After all, they exist for some reason
But WP7 is very easy to manage. Here is a tip: if you need something, just press and hold to see more options appear... This can be done almost everywhere

Text Message

I just saw (by sheer accident) a box pop up when I was about to reply to a text that I had just received.
I had never seen this box pop up before so I don't know what I did or how I touched the screen or just why the box appeared.
I should have taken more time to read the four options in the box but as soon as I read the "voice option to reply" I touched it and sent my first voice (printed) message.
The box had four choices that were arranged in a square pattern: not in a list. It was a very small box.
What did I do to bring that box up?
I can't get it to happen again.
Dan
Evidently few if any people have seen this little box jump up before when texting.
I wonder if a developer would be kind enough to offer some insight to a newbie?
Ok.....I should have taken a screenshot of this box: but I didn't.
And I can't get it to reappear no matter what I do..
A dev knows all about what I'm referring to.....but it may be way down at the bottom of the list of interest.
Although we've heard it said that "there are no dumb questions" : that is usually said by people who already know the answers and they are being nice.
I don't like to leave posts at xda that make little sense and then when I find out what my inexperience left me wondering about just never follow up.
Who knows.....maybe someone else is also curious as to what I was talking about.
The "box" I was trying to access again was simply a Swift Key 3 keyboard stroke that allows you to shortcut a text message.
The SK3 symbol on the keyboard is the stroke I accidentally hit and was not prepared for (or had ever seen) its pop up prompt.

On installation: Is there an alternative way to click Next?

Hi
My Nook has only one small area that no longer accepts input, but that area covers exactly the area where the Next button is during installation of a ROM.
Installation screens don't rotate, they start in landscape mode with the N button to the right.
Is there an alternate way to click Next, maybe a way to activate a voice command? Or maybe a way to force the screen to rotate?
Are my only options to either alter the source code to make the Next buttons show up a bit higher on the screen, or to get my screen replaced?
Thanks for all feedback.

If you feel like messing around, you could try to use ADB on TWRP to pull your /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db, edit it with SQL, find the value that means rotation and set it to whatever value seems correct (I can't use touch events. ****ty Touchscreen Firmware Flasher app crashed on me and left me with no driver). Sorry if this is very sketchy, but it's all I know off the top of my head. You could also try out other ROMs (I know some do rotate the setup screen) or use MIUI. Cool, but not very useful. I wish someone with the correct knowledge could make a port and us, the ones who only know the hands-on stuff, could beta-test these things... Very nifty.

Simple question but I need help!

This should be an easy answer I imagine but I'm in dire need as I can't figure it out. At the bottom there used to be 3 dots on the front screen and I could swipe it to get to all the tabs I created. My son got ahold of it and hit a bunch of buttons and now there's only 1 and I can't access anything. I looked through the settings UThis should be an easy answer I imagine but I'm in dire need as I can't figure it out. Tab S3 split screen multi window problem

Lucky though I am to suffer such trivial problems on my journey through life, I'd be very grateful if anyone has a solution to this particular Rich World problem.
On my Tab S3 I am in landscape and Split Screen Multi window mode. I want to change the app in the Left Hand pane. If I press the Recents button I am only ever given the option to change the apps in the Right Hand pane. It does not matter which pane, left or right, is in focus I can only change the app in the right hand pane.
The only way I can figure to change the app in the left hand pane is to 1. Swop the panes about so Left pane becomes Right pane. 2. Hit the Recents button and select the new app. 3. Swop the panes back. That's rubbish! Does anyone know if there is an easier way to change the Left hand app?
Why do I want this? I am right handed. I like to use the stylus with Samsung Notes in the right hand pane. I keep whatever app I am referring to or watching in the left hand pane and I like to change to different apps there fairly regularly. All this daft swopping is dementing me. I could just do my writing in the left hand pane but that is also rubbish as it feels awkward.
Really like the Tab but wondering if I should have got an iPad Pro for my notetaking.
Ok this is pretty trivial i know, hence plenty views but no replies! I'll leave it up in case someone else is puzzling about what multi window does and doesn't do.

It's not trivial. But it is how the multi-window is implemented by Google in Android Nougat. So there isn't a solution unless Google change their mind on the implementation.
