[MOD] Remove the annoying blur behind system dialogs - LG V20 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Flashable ZIP might come later, I don't know.
I'm not responsible if things break! Follow the guide and they shouldn't.
This was made on the H918 10K base, but should work on other ROMs/devices as well.
Instructions:
Download the lge-res.apk attached.
Push it to your device somewhere.
Use a root browser and navigate to /system/framework/lge-res/.
Rename lge-res.apk to lge-res.apk.old. (ODEXED users, rename the oat/ folder to oat1/.)
Copy the modified lge-res.apk over and set its permissions to 0644 (rw-r--r--).
Reboot and have no more blur behind dialogs.
I may add more tweaks to this as I find them.

I like the blur lol but that's me. Can I make a request since you're a bad mofo lol. If possible can you get rid of the annoying pop ups when battery is low? I get them at 15% and 5%.

When the battery level is low. I have spare batteries so these pop ups are just annoying. And when the battery level is at 5% the screen brightness goes all the way down automatically

What up bro? Good to see u pop in and still using this phone!
So what battery popup are you talking about?
Nevermind, I see the reference about that in the first page.
Yes, you are correct, you need access to the global database to control that popup, or wait for oZoP to have the option to set low battery and critical low to a lower range.
Right now i have it going down to 3% because any lower isnt good. I'll leave it at 3% unless anyone objects snd woukd prefer to go to 1%?
U ready for some oZoP? Getting very close to an initial release...

How about this, I'll lower the trigger to 0% which will basically remove thw popup. It might trigger once you hit zero, but the phone might shut off first?
You will have to install the oZoP ConTroL mod option from my full oZoP Aroma zip (once its released) to have control of this. Also remember that by default, all the options are set to stock. So you will have to use the oZoP ConTroL app and change thw low battery trigger to what you want.
Also, I see you 714 and I keep forgetting to say representing 949 OC!
Been living in NB since 2002! Well actually since 05', lived in Aliso Viejo for 2 yrs. Gotta love So Cal!

What I Have... What Do you Want

Until we have kernel access and and or a recovery/bootlader i have started making small mods and themes to my devices , this is one of them... if you would like it let me know... if you would like something else , let me know as well just please do so in an orderly way Meaning make sure no one has requested this ahead of you
Is there a way you can make a Simpsons theme?
Speaking practically, is there a way you can remove the persistent AT&T from the notification bar?
I've also read requests elsewhere for a black notification bar.
Ultimately, I don't know the extent to which you can tweak things, so I'm just going straight for the jugular regarding the things that bother me most.
Thanks for going ahead and sharing this, and putting yourself out there for requests.

I will dbl check but as of now i think att&t has to stay :-( but i can def put together a black notification bar theme
In the other thread about the black bar, the OP was able to remove the ATT. However, during the edits, something happened that now we get FC in settings. OP is trying to fix it, but if you can take a look too to speed things up?

Sweet, i'd really appreciate it.
It maybe a stretch but I ran CM6.1 before this phone and I miss the phone/ringer/messaging/unlock and gesture functions. If you can get one or both going that would be sweet. Also I miss having my lock screen music controls.
Moved to themes and apps as not android development
Its possible to remove the AT&T from the notification bar. Change framework-res.apk/res/layout/status_bar.xml, and carrier length and padding to zero on line 5.

Not to be rude...I'm thankful for people trying to mod the Atrix...but it would appear all you did was change the background and the default colorscheme for certain aspects, which appear broken without modding the way the aspects actually interact.

You are very non-observant. Did you not see the notification bar? That's the big deal in this theme. Different icons and the nice looking shaded black bar, oh and the settings menu. I like it and I think it looks awesome.

lol well sir you are in the themeing section not the development, currently with out a recovery custom roms can not exist and even what i have made i havent released because it would be dangerous to people like you also the menu appears broken as you call it because currently honeycomb is optimized for tablets this came from a Xoom system dump
I will add version tomorrow with non split menu , i did it on purpose as i liked the look and the honeycomb version of part grey part transparent didnt render on atrix right. I will also fix an over sight in a transparent submenu that i noticed today it made sub menu hard to read, any how its just a theme and im just posting alot of new looks if you notice a problem let me know ill fix , better to get bugs out before the roms
thanks for the work will try it once updates are finished

Ok As for the comments about the pulled down notification bar cracking , its not a crack its the design , same with the current menu's do you think i dont know how to use FILL ? you know the thing with the Paint bucket spilled? i made choices for the way i liked them if you dont its ok , but dont call it broken
Few more updates made i fixed what was actually broken and changed a few of the menus

First tip - remove the bit about deleting batterystats.
This file is used to maintain, across reboots, low-level data about the kinds of operations the device and your apps are doing between battery changes. That is, it is solely used to compute the blame for battery usage shown in the "Battery Use" UI in settings.
That is, it has deeply significant things like "app X held a wake lock for 2 minutes" and "the screen was on at 60% brightness for 10 minutes."
It has no impact on the current battery level shown to you.
It has no impact on your battery life.
Deleting it is not going to do anything to make your more device more fantastic and wonderful... well, unless you have some deep hatred for seeing anything shown in the battery usage UI. And anyway, it is reset every time you unplug from power with a relatively full charge (thus why the battery usage UI data resets at that point), so this would be a much easier way to make it go away.
That lot comes from here (for more info click it!)

Ok, great initiative. Good luck.
My personal feedback. There are two mods that for me are indinspensable: 1) battery percentage and 2) Lidroid mod (14 icons). CRT on-off is to impress girls and I leave this mod at your choice.
Is it possible to have a CWM package that has Battery percentage and Lidroid mod included?
Meanwhile I am downloading and I would suggest to check the first link as it seems not working.

[Q] Regarding MIUI/CM7, pulling an app over?

Hey Guys!
I've been trying to find a way to keep the softkey light on S2 on MIUI turned off (COMPLETELY, not auto brightness values for button to 0) but there really isn't a way...
I've noticed in CM7 there is a Galaxy SII settings app that can be found independently in Titanium Backup. That app has the option to turn off the softkey backlight completely.
Do you think it's possible to drag that app from CM7 and Install it on MIUI to turn off the keylight? Considering from what I've read MIUI is based partly on CM right?
Go to display setting. Turn on auto brightness and beneath it will be advanced settings or something. Then there should be automatic backlight tab or Light Levels. Click on Edit Other levels.. Underneath button, make the value(should be 225 or 250) go to 0. You're good to go. You can turn off auto brightness then.
Pretty sure the OP said "COMPLETELY, not auto brightness values for button to 0"...Wait...He did
OP - there are various scripts around the place which claim to achieve this. I also use Miui & setting the auto brightness to zero used to work. This stopped working early in the the new year so something has obviously changed in Miui's builds.
I can't vouch for the usefulness of these scripts as I've learned to live with this issue, and I don't have a link for same. Try a Google search & append XDA to your search terms. This should yield something for you.
Edit to add - With regard to pulling over an app from CM7, obviously Miui is CM based so it might work. I guess you can only try it & find out. Can't see how it could do any harm given it's only an app.
@Mistah Thanks loads dude, I've tried some of the scripts from some of the searches I did and nothing seems to work you're right.
I'll give it a shot and see how it goes, but I don't think if i get the APK out i can just install it normally right? I'd have to put it in system>app then do a reboot for it to go in nicely?
I'll test it and report it back here tmrw thanks!
No worries
Yeah I'm not surprised the scripts don't work. Yeah give it a try, put it in /system/app & also might wanna mount /system rw before you install it (if you need to, use an app like Remount to do this). Yeah do a reboot after you've installed it & cross your fingers.
Will be awaiting your report with baited breath

Pm-ed! Thanks!
Replied. Doesn't work & I doubt it will.
I wrote a script which works for me on all kernels with init.d support, here's a link:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27703769/Permanently Disable Softkey Backlight.zip
If the flashable zip doesnt work just copy the script and set correct permissions (755). Please report back, because I haven't used the script for a while now...
BLN doesn't work on the script, though. I have located the file which contains the value for the backlight and changed its permissions, this disables the phone to change this value and thus keeping it off. This file is on a different location on almost every phone, so most scripts work on only one particular device.

Have you considered making this installed by Aroma giving the user the ability to pick and choose which mods will best suit there needs? Take a look at my Not Now ROMand check out the installer scripts if you are looking for ideas? If you want help or have questions on getting Aroma going with your ROM, I'm here just ask. If not, all good and keep up the good work. Always good to see more options available here for us. Thanks

Yeah
That is one thing I am looking at enabling next.
That and trying to remove the S-Finder and Quick Connect things at the top of the pull down menu.
I will look over yours then.
Thank you. I didn't even think of that.

Check it out and if you have questions let me know.
Don't know if this is exactly the mod you are wanting in regards to s-finder but here is a flashable mod to remove the big buttons right below the slider and puts a small shortcut in top left corner
