Stable 100% bug-free AOSP marshmallow ROM for Redmi note 3? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hi, I'm sorry if this question is asked way too frequently, but the thing is, when I bought the redmi note 3 over a year ago, I had planned to install a near stock Android ROM. But after searching for a good ROM, I found that none of the AOSP ROMs back then supported VOLTE, which I absolutely require for Jio. Even now when I search for marshmallow ROMs, most of them either don't support VOLTE or have some other bugs like dual SIM not working which makes those ROMs unfit for daily use. The reason I don't want to use Nougat is because of xposed unavailability. Is there stable 100% bug-free near stock android marshmallow ROM for redmi note 3? I would appreciate if people would recommend me a good ROM ONLY if they have personally tested & confirmed that the ROM is indeed 100% bug-free & VOLTE works. I don't want to flash a ROM, then find out it has bugs, then move back again to MiUI. If there is no such ROM, then I'll just continue using MiUI. Thanks.

I've been using this rom for months now and it's great! Security patches are still being updated every month.

Redmi 3 Pro: most purer-stable Rom out there?

Hi
Whats up?
Bought the Redmi Note 3 Pro Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 Hexa Core 3GB/32GB version.
After read a lot and especially the ROMs suitable for Redmi 3 Pro thread
I read that the MIUI's rom is onerous the phone with so much bloatware apps(cleanmaster, antivrus, Micloud and so more).
So, what is the most stable rooted rom w/o bugs at the area? (Read that the CM13 still have some annoying bugs)
I'm totally noob at the beginning after buying a new device
Saw the MIUI 8 V6.7.7 -BUT- still prefer more "puerer" rom and ofcoarse - with the least Lags as possible.
Prefer a rom that comes rooted comes with twrp + gapps installed that keeps the great battery life of the RN3 PRO.
Looking for: Clean+fast-NO LAG+comes with recovery(twrp preferred) and Play store.
What would be the most suitable for my needs?
Is there a "tut's" for how to?
Thanks very much for your help
I think twrp and gapps need to be installed seperately for every rom.
For twrp there are several guides but first step is always "unlock your bootloader". You have to either use unofficial unlock method or request permission from xiaomi.
The CM roms i tested were stable but for me there was the bug that the battery is stuck at 50%. Another bug that a lot of users face is a not working fingerprint sensor.
you can check here for a overview and possible fixes http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/fingerprint-battery-issues-custom-roms-t3429464
I am on Krexus. I suggest you the same. No major bugs.

Hi,
What about MIUI? Maybe the most stable-without bloatware out there?
I want something that close to clean android but still have some few hacks.
Thanks!!!
Miui 7 xiaomi.eu stable 7.3.2. Xiaomi.eu dev 6.5.5 is stable enough too, less stable and good rom is best MIUI 8 rom xiaomi.eu dev 6.7.21, that version od miui 8 is best actually. Of course you should unlock bootloader firstly.
Smiui is great for me awesome battery !!!
@ Pawel978
I'm not sure I understood you.
The best roms for you opinion are:
1) Miui 7 xiaomi.eu stable 7.3.2
2) Xiaomi.eu dev 6.5.5
What do you meant to say in this sentence?
"less stable and good rom is best MIUI 8 rom xiaomi.eu dev 6.7.21"
It not stable but still the best MIUI Rom?
I suggest reading through this reddit wiki first. As for which rom is the most stable and bug free, I'd say Mokee.
Thanks very much!!
Cm13 from santosh is the most stable but not the lightest
Krexus is the lightest/fastest but not the best battery
RR is polyvalent with lots of (useless for me) features, quite stable
Slim is pretty good compromise between speed/stability
I think slim is very small but meaningful customazings and very good from the battery power I have 8.5 hours sot or infinitive os is almost as but both are pretty good
@aaz03 and @noobstyle1337
Thanks for summerized for me the most recommanded roms for my needs.
Guess I will chose between:
Cm13
Slim
All best!!

Please help me pick a custom Rom, overwhelmed

Finally managed to officially unlock bootloader, but since I started that process over 2 weeks ago, a lot has happened in the Rom and development forum. I was originally going for CM13, but I'm not longer sure if that's a good idea.
I mostly use my phone as a music player, and it runs most of the day while I'm at work. I occasionally send calls and text messages.
I got the RMN3 for the battery and significantly larger screen than what I had before. Phone plans in canada are god awful and as such I got literally no data on my plan, so outside of home wifi, I got no internet on it.
The reason I want a custom rom is mainly to remove bloat and improve battery life, and maybe add a few functions/ behaviours.
I don't really care about the fingerprint sensor, should it not work, but having the camera non-functional is a no-go.
I'm not really interested in constantly having to flash an update on my phone. I just want one good, stable rom with little to no bloat that will do what I'll ask it to, with a good battery life, without crashing. Updating once every month or so would be reasonable. I heard that Android 7(+) had some battery life improvements (Doze?) so I'm conflicted as to rom and android versions.
I'm pretty new to Android, and I'm completely overwhelmed by the many different types of roms, along with the many different versions of the same rom (Example: many CM14/14.1 builds).
There's a lot of guides, but most of them seem out of date.
Device: Global Dev, Kenzo
Any suggestions? (If possible, please also include which version of TWRP you would recommend)
I personnally own the Kate version and flashed the official CM13 ROM built for Kenzo on it.
Everything is working fine for me, including the fingerprint sensor and the camera.
I also use the phone to listen to music all day at work and it worked really well with good battery life.
About the TWRP version I used, honestly I don't remember very well since I tried a few and the reason was something to do with the Kate device I believe, so you may not have to use the same version of TWRP.

any stable rom with interactive gov
Hi, you mentioned stock ROM (not Cyanogen or Nexus experience, just stock). Where could I get that from?
I'm on beanstalk ROM (android 7.1) loving it!
Try krexus-CAF!
You could go for the official build of RR with Radon kernel
welcome to the race, mate
well if you want to improve battery life you are recomended to flash AOSP-Based roms . miui and cm-based roms have battery drain issue (i can't explain why, but i can say that because i tried them)
my recomendation would be Cardinal AOSP
try rr remix 5.7.4 with radon kernel...

Now for real: Which is the most stable "6.0 and up" ROM for the Galaxy Alpha G850F?

Now for real: Which is the most stable "6.0 and up" ROM for the Galaxy Alpha G850F?
I'm sick of it... finding the stock ROM is a pain in the ass and all custom Roms above Lollipop are mostly unusable as daily drivers.
Resurrection Remix and Lineage OS got problems with recognizing phone rotation... youtube gets literally unusable.
Epsil ROM and other Lollipop ROMs got harsh slowdowns after some days that can only be fixed by restarting.
Is there any ROM from Marshmallow upwards that is stable enough to get used as an daily driver?
From my experience, no. There is not even plenty of roms above Marshmallow for this device, only the cyanogenmod/lineage and their RR versions.
i see only stock rom is the best for Galaxy Alpha with all fully feature
Yeah, tried all of the ROMS. Epsil is the most stable atm

Ep rom's more smooth than stock rom but consuming more battery when ide
Stock huh?
The normal firmware of my phone is a ****ing bugfest.
Epsil and Resurrection Remix were nearly perfect, but both got that funny problem that turning the phone won't work after some time.
I don't really care about my phone not recognizing rotation, but I can't stand this pesky bug breaking all sound when somebody calls me as I listen to music. I'm currently trying all of CM/Lineage/RR based ROMs to see if there's any without that problem. If everything fails, I'll either stick to whichever TouchWiz based one with working stock bluetooth equalizer, or go back to full stock/rooted stock.
Hi, and what did you choose as daily driver rom?
Modpunks LOS14.1 is nice but only if camera support wasn't a meme due to changes to how nougat handles camera
I think it's better to try to port an A5 or A7 rom because A7 have same SoC with the alpha

Actually, only the A7 shares the same SoC, the A5 does not.
The A7 also sports the 5.0.2 Android so, there's no point in doing that...
Hello, i am in a DIRE need of 7.0(+) ROM (which has working GSM and GPS) for a friends device.
He absolutely need to play Pokemon GO which was recently updated and the default (5.0.2) ROM is no longer supported. Phone will be used ONLY for that.
Can you give me any hints please? Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Uhm, it seems like there is requirement only for Android 6:

Happy New Year!
I will suggest to try Kyasu Cyanogen 12.1 Rom.
The only problem that he is stop to developing at Lollipop 5.1 for SM-G850F.
Quite pity...
I never really wanted to dig up an old thread, but I was still using a Galaxy Alpha until a few weeks ago.
Just to be clear: there is absolutely NO custom rom (> lollipop) to use, right? You cannot make calls with any "final" "fully working" "best rom". So every real CustomROM is useless, or am I wrong?

I never noticed a problem with the last RR. The camera crashes were easy to solve
As someone who wants to get an old phone to fool around with, the G850W sounds boring as it's yet another 801 phone, but I think the Exynos G850F would be interesting. Is there a good 6.0+ ROM yet as of 2023?

Best Android Pie Rom for battery life

Hello,
So I bought the Pocophone F1 and it's in his way to my house. Probably I will not keep the MIU software and use a rom like I did with my others smartphones. I was looking for a subject where they could detail about the roms and their battery life, because some roms are new to me, but didn't found anything.
Do you know a good rom with battery life improvement? Not sure about lineage, beacause there's too much features that I will not use.
Miui 10 8.11.2 based on android pie.. best battery life.. unlocked your bootloader .then flash Sphinx Kernel by Milouk.. .even the asus rog phone beat the performance..

Have you been trying others rom with the pocophone?
The Sphinx Kernel looks pretty good.
I am flashaholic and i love lineage OS but so far i have not installed any rom for now..im satisfied with the stock rom ( Miui ) maybe in the near future . .. for now i am enjoying Miui. ..Sphinx kernel makes the pocophone beast.. milouk has a good reputation his known for being smart , intelligent and a humble developer back in the days with Nexus device. And lots of users are happy to see him working with our devices so Cheers!!!!
LiquidRemix (9.0) rom have very good battery life. Before I was on Miui 9 latest. LiquidRemix rom has better battery life and performance for me. I saw Havoc rom recent one but I have not try it yet.
I had flashed the los, I felt it had not customisations at all..lol..
I tried nitrogen os..
But now I m using latest global beta..
Currently the miui provides the best battery backup and best performance.. just flash the sphinx kernel..
Battery backup is very good on all roms but best on miui

Well you convinced me! Maybe for roms is too soon, because most of them have something that is not working yet. I always thought that the MIUI was not taking the full advantage of the battery and management was not that good.
When you bought the phone, did he came with the clean stock miui? Or you had to flash it?
Your thought was wrong..Battey management and performance are fluid ...You can install MiuP https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sid.miuilatestupdates&hl=en there's a hidden settings , Go to Power mode and select Performance. .you cant' find these settings to your stock settings , it will activate battery performance. I am using my device for two days moderate usage of gaming , Pubg and Vainglory...i suggest turn off the notification setting with this app because it's very annoying popping up news every 30 mins..Good Luck!!!
Thank You very much bamz1117 for your advice. Once I'll get the phone I will flash the kernel and install the to access to hidden settings.
Your Welcome...Hit thanks if you like @DarkyX_90
All roms have excellent battery backup and ram usage but if you want just a close to stock android rom with minimal features, your best bet would be the Lineage OS. Install a GApps Pico build and you're good to go.
Most of the time I'm on lineage but currently I'm trying out the havoc os and loving its rich customization features
I would, but there's no thanks button
NOS is great for me. Full on stability and it's smooth. I was using MIUI PIE 8.11.8 and thought it's awesome until I flashed NOS rom. Everything is awesome now. Modded gcam does the job well too.
My suggestion would be to try MIUI PIE first and when you're bored with it, try NOS. You won't go back to MIUI ever.
that's fine it's a Q and A poll so you cant find a thanks button.... see this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/miui-10-stable-global-version-rolled-t3858866
Hey I got today the phone I was already to make everything, and the first thing I wanted to do was to update the miui. I have some questions because I am new with MIUI. On updates I have "10.0.4.0". I presume the " 8.11.2" is from the "developer rom", right?
1 - If yes, can it be dowloaded through the miui update on my smartphone? Or it's like a normal rom with TWRP?
2 - I went to http://en.miui.com/ and I just can found the " 8.10.25" version. Where did you get the 8.11.2?
3 - Any way to know which features may not work with the developer rom?
4 - The "8.11.2" has most languages available, or just because it's an advance version, it's just in english?
@DarkyX_90 Good to know you already have your phone ..this a Q and Q poll ..can you go to this thread so that i can help you out regarding your questions..https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/miui-10-stable-global-version-rolled-t3858866
Oh yes you right, I am sorry. Let's keep this topic as it is.
If anyone have thoughts about the battery and roms share with us.

MIUI rom builder

https://mi-globe.com/rom-builder-features/?id=57&codename=beryllium&phone=Pocophone+F1

Well , the globe rom is based on xiaomi.eu rom , but in addition it gives you the ability to customize it ( disable daemon service , pre installed magisk , disable stock apps like browser and such , optimize gps location , and much more )
I have been using it as my mainly driver for almost a month , no complaints here .
