MIUI v7.1.2.0 LHPCNCK *PREROOTED
Perfect, clean, prerooted stock MIUI v7.1.2.0 for Redmi 3.
Also, this is only solution so far to get root on Redmi 3 with locked bootloader.
* Download MIUI ROM Flashing Tool (link below instructions)
* Download MIUI v7.1.2.0 LHPCNCK *PREROOTED package file (link below instructions)
* Decompress downloaded ROM file
* Boot Redmi 3 into bootloader mode.
From switched off state, hold VOL+, VOL-, POWER for exactly 15 seconds (screen will be black and stays that way through the whole process of flashing)
* Flash your new ROM package with MiFlash and wait until the progress bar inside MiFlash turns fully green, which means the ROM has been successfully installed.
Then your device should automatically boot to the new version
Credit for prerooted rom goes to: greatslon @ miui.com (siema SLONIU)

If this is the same ROM as here then it will receive official updates, but after update you will lose ROOT and all cleared (chinese apps) will be back.

I use this ROM and i get notification that a new update is available. But the update is not applied.
There is a new prerooted rom v7.1.3.0 :
Im downloading it now. Will report back after flashing.

Im trying to flash it now. I think you will loose all settings, but not sure.
I use titanium backup to backup and restore all.

Wow, thanks a lot for the thread and updates. I struggled for days trying to get around the locked bootloader, as the 7.1.1 stock release had critical bugs supporting multi-language input (activating English/Hebrew keyboard caused GPS and Camera activation to crash the operating system and cause immediate restart). Now, using 7.1.3 ROM with full download mode everything is smooth and stable. Now we can enjoy the phone

There are many (at least for keyboard input options, which is the main focus for me). Please state which are important for you and I'll look into the long list (starts with Afrikaans and end with Zulu)...

OK, in this case, then Hungarian is supported only as input language, not an option as UI language... This (UI Language) is still limited to English and 2 variants of Chinese...

How to flash
1. Download Miui_MM_3_Redmi2.zip and a-gapps package.
2. Reboot to twrp recovery
3. make backup of current rom
4. Now wipe data, cache, system and dalvik cache
5. now flash Miui_MM_3_Redmi2.zip and a-gapps
6. when flashing completes reboot to system
7. wait till rom boots, and it will take some time to load miui 8 setup.
Note. It shows no sim card...but dont worry it is fine. Sims are loaded properly ...
for Volte and data you need to set APN in setting.
Note2- Only for porters. If anyone is trying porting and editing chinese rom...and you want to delete chinese apps...you only need to delete superSU zip in rom. Chinese devs are containing their chinese app in SuperSu zip.

oh srry i forgot to mention....keyboard is removed because it was chinese and i didnt added any other keyboard to reduce rom size....
you can skip skip setup...and then install any keyboard apk from backup and then enable it ....
it will work fine...

I cant skip setup because in my previous miui rom i was signed in....so it asks me to type in my password stating this device was signed in using an account.
Im in love with this rom it was kind of my dream...please help

i was also signed in..but i didnt get this and i skipped setup.
Now go in this below link and download Google keyboard for arm device.
Dont download arm64 .....
and then flash it...it should work...

restore your old miui backup and turn off find device...
use that miui for 10-30 min with data ON
then flash this rom...
and then check is it saying same...

1. yes miui themes working... I tried only 2-5 themes...
2. It is a dirty port taking cm13 as base. So it is not containing data and system seperate images or .dat file...
It is having file system same as KK rom zip files.
3. Ota will not work.

No, it doesn't officially support Samsung but it should be working fine with apps except syetem ui and settings

You have to open settings and tick allow dangerous overlays. Then they will be shown.

Even if I tick it they don't show up. When I install the theme I get an error "Themer rejected theme installed on samsung" as you can see in the screenshot.

Yes, there is another one solution that you have to install the old version of substratum like 855 I'm using.
The reason why you didn't see other themes is the developer manages to keep your device safe with supported themes only.

Thanks foe the suggestion, do you know if it's safe to uninstall substratum but not the overlays? When I install the older version of substratum do I have to uninstall the overlays also or can I just swap the two versions of the substratum app?

It'd be better you uninstall the overlays first.Btw I remember they will be automatically deleted after you have uninstalled the substratum app.

To apply "dangerous overlays", that is, system UI overlays like the ones bellow you need to get a Samsung compatible theme. I recommend Swift Black for Samsung, and Black panel.

I saw that the Chinese version of Honor 9 has a 3D creator option in the camera app, I have the global version of Honor 9 and that option is missing (it has the 3D panorama but it is not the same).
Is there a way to add the 3D creator option?

Pressing "more" should take you to the camera mode downloader, if not 3D portrait isn't there, then it's not available to you.

I'm rooted and have costum recovery, I have no idea what the procedure would be (unroot, stock recovery, update, costum recovery, re-root) and will all my settings will be kept.
Seems like a huge hassle, maybe it is better to have costume ROM once oreo will available

This is extra weird. I tried changing the DPI back to 360 and it didn't change back, it remained at 480.
build.prop in 'system' folder is missing the definition, then I found there's another build.prop in 'vendor' folder (I remember changing the setting in the system folder).
So I changed the setting in the vendor folder, DPI didn't change, I copied the setting to build.prop in system folder too, and it didn't change.
I tried clearing Dalvik and Cache, restart, still no change in DPI.

No, I didn't uninstall anything.
Tried changing DPI back, see above, didn't work (DPI didn't revert back)

That will suck big time, though I can use Titanium backup to backup apps, but system settings is not kept, such a waste of time.
If there's no other option i might try it, though I can't recall if I had the option when I first got the phone (the first thing I did was to root it)

I'm a privacy freak , that seems like an online backup, and only God knows what data is sent with the backup. I prefer local backup with Titanium.

Well, I tried factory reset, DPI returned to default, no 3D Creator option.
I emailed Honor UK support a couple of days ago, waiting for a reply.....

Hmm, I think way back I had changed my dpi from 320 ( I think ) to 280 or something like that. Could also be the bulgarian language, maybe I should've installed it with english set on the phone. I don't bother that much tho
why does it take so long to flash? The battery has ran out even it was 100% when flash

I use twrp 3.0. About 4 hours and i had still seen the screen appear every boot, so i canceled it and flashed rom again, then flashed the kernel skymelon 9 (not with the asop ui pack) and it's ok now. Anyway, i still not have this asop ui yet

you can find link to the latest recovery image in the first post. with that recovery everything should be fine.

yes you can, kernel is the same as on Concept-ify as far as i know.
