question about charger and fast charging - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

hey I bought today the redmi note 4 with the Snapdragon 625.. in the box included a strange charger that is not supported here. they gave me an adapter together. well my question is simple.
1. why this charger since the phone is global version and it should be have the EU charger with the 2 things on it ?
2. which fast charger should I buy to charge the phone faster than the stock? does the rn4 supports fast charging?

This is the stock charger.. it shouldn't be like that.. in EU why don't have wall holes for these charges.. the RN4 is genuine I checked it.. but I don't know why this charger was in that box.

That's the UK power outlet. United Kingdom is also in Europe (intended as continent), so shops have also RN4 Global version with UK charger.
I know that RN4 doesn't support fast charging, but with some custom kernel it could.

Says don't use the charger on the UK .

Buy any Charger that is Rated at 5V 2Amp Output Rating.
RN4 don't support QC, so Buying fast Charger is useless.

My RN4 (snapdragon - 8.2.10.0 global stable ROM) gets charged very fast! In about 2 hrs it's charged completely from 15 % to 100 %
I charge it with original charger from the box. Also with my Laptop it's very fast (USB 3.0)

Charging speed

To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.

last week i bought a Redmi 5 Plus 4gb/ 64gb Global then i tried to test charge time and quick charge.. 3-4 times with a qualcomm QC 3.0 charger and another QC 2.0 charger.. The results are similar: all about 2 hour.. the charge time with Xiaomi's own 2A Charger it take about 2 and half hour. i know its good but not so good.. By the way i notice that when test with QC3.0 charger it can not charge with 12V.. (i used a usb tester to see voltage and Current) i just saw 9.30v as max voltage. its behave look like QC2.0 not QC3.0
Snapdragon 625 should be support QC3.0 isnt it?
Are there anyone test quick charge?
I have a QC 2.0 charger,takes about 2 hour to fully charge my R5 phone... don't have tester to measure voltage,but phone doesn't heats up,its around 28 C when charging.Charger does
all my qc3.0 tests take 2 hours too. i see my qc 3.0 charger work as qc 2.0 charger. maybe my charger not work as qc 3.0 maybe our phone not support qc 3.0 we will see... i will buy a new qc 3.0 charger and i will test it again then i share the results here too.
using moto g4 plus turbo charger . charging speed 2600+mah . takes approx 1 n half hr.

thats good score :good::good: but i ordered another qc3.0 adaptor from aliexpress it has 3 port, i will share the score about a mont later
I think it has QC 2.0 instead of 3.0
A QC 3.0 charger is backward compatible.

welll my new charger delivered me from china, so i tested it a few times. its better than my qc2.0 charger and my other qc3 car charger ( i think its not qc3.0 its just qc2.0 ) My new charger is not as good as expected.. charge time is an hour and 45 minutes. .. its mean 15 min better than qc.2.0 ... i saw 10.1v and 1,35 amp on my usb tester, it could be 12v... Anyway we can see that the phone supports qc 3.0 but not at all its need powerfull and good qualty QC3.0 charger, so if you want to buy a QC3 charger i I recommend that you need to research well.

I'm using my old charger from vivo , is this normal charging speed?
I tried a charger that is certified by Qualcomm with QC3.0 and got around 2470 mAh (4.171 V)
PLease help! I am facing some battery calibration issues. The phone hardly charges up to 100% no matter how long you charge it. It just gets stuck at 96% or 97% and then the phone goes off at 19% on usage. I have tried different calibration apps to no avail. I even did a clean flash using the miflash tool, still no luck. Somebody help o

You are not alone. R5 plus and some another xiaomi device, sometimes we see this problem. And there is no software solution. Wipe, mi flash, battery calibrationi root... I tried everything but no luck.
Only solution is;
Remove the back cover (i did it, its not so difficult.)
Remove the battery connector plug
Wait a few seconds
Plug it back.
Thats done. Problem solved.

Original mi 9 mdy-10-el 27w wall charger

Were i can by the original MI 9 MDY-10-EL 27W wall charger? Not EH, it's USA, Chinese plug adapter, with EU plug connector (Web, online shop). I don't need the wireless charger 20W, i bought it already. Mi France sell both for 50€, it's expensive. I found another one at Aliexpress, 18 USD, but I don't trust the seller, he has only 3 buyers and there is no aftersale expressions. On the other side, other products from this seller are poorly rated.
Bought 2 of those, can confirm 100% original at https://www.gearbest.com/chargers---power-adapters/pp_009422733270.html?wid=1433363

I bought a charger from there too, I tried 2 adapters (US to EU) and 2 cables (original Xiaomi cable and Baseus 5A cable), but I never get over 3300 mA. So which cable do you use? and which plug adapter?
And do you see Charging Turbo while charging? Because I don't. I'm running Xiaomi.eu ROM as well.
I have screens posted on another thread in this subsection charging it at over 4800mah if you don't want to believe me. Use the search function.
EDIT: Yes, turbo charging is instant, also am using xiaomi.eu

Which app didi you use to measure it?
I get something around 3800 ma/h with the official one I bought at a Xiaomi store here in Shanghai.
I use ampere and accu battery for measuring.

Ampere Pro. By the way I use the official cable that came with the phone.
Also, keep in mind the charging amps will fluctuate during the whole process, as in ANY lithium battery in the world. To better have an idea, monitor the charging when the phone is around 30%~40% charged.
The guys asks for the EL version, specifically said he does not want the EH version, but what do you all do ? Recommend the EH version, of course.
Great help you are.
I can't find the EL version anywhere except bundled with the 20W charging pad. I don't understand why it is so hard to find
Thank you all. I didn't find it. I bought the original EH version from Gearbest, with gocomma EU plug adapter. It shows charge turbo.
I have a turbo showing adapter which has that distinctive "l" icon, but it never goes up around 2300-2400 amps. I'm assuming it's fake. So just getting turbo sign or a case without printing errors doesn't necessarily mean that the brick you got is genuine.

Well, I did not find it even like that. I only found some pictures of it on here, from a French guy who had it bundled with his Mi 9, and on some Russian forum.
I don't get it why Xiaomi does not sell it separately.
But it won't matter when the 40W version arrives for the Mi 9 Pro.

Xiaomi "Turbo Charge" 27W only works with the Xiaomi 27W adapter which is NOT QC4 (still QC3, with proprietary solution for 27W delivery)

Turbo Charge 27W work also with Baseus Wall Charger http://https://sklep.telforceone.pl/en-gb/product/2223356/2237051/baseus-wall-charger-pps-qc-usb-pd-45w-white-with-display
or Baseus PPS car charger. Max power is 27W. When i use a original cable and conect to USB-A port in charger my phone display "Charge Turbo" so its QC 3.0 dual channel charging.
When i use USB-C to USB-C cable and PD socket (QC 4.0+) charging similar speed (usually 10V, 2,7A) phone display only fast charging. I test also POCOPHONE F1 and Charge Turbo displays only when i use PD socket.
Anyone know where I can get the UK variant from? I hate using those nasty adapter plugs...
Hi, it's me again. I found and bought MDY-10-EL 27W wall charger, from Aliexpress. The cable is thinner than the original one, but never mind. The charger shows charge turbo while charging and it's ok. But, I can't connect this charger with the original 20W wireless charger! I tried with the sellers cable and the original cable, nothing! When i put the Mi 9, even without transparent case, on the wireless charger, it can be seen nothing!? There is no signs of charging? Besides, with the other 27W fast charger US plug (MDY-10-EH), i have no problems. Wireless charging is working. What can i do with this charger MDY-10-EL, to make it working with 20W wireless charger?
Just one notice. The wireless 20W charger is functional with the original Mi 9 18W charger. The phone can be charged. It's not fast charging, but it's charging! On the contrary, the fast 27W charger is not working with the wireless charger!?

Redmi Note 8 - 18w charger

I got 5v 2a charger (10w) with my phone. I see that it supports 18w. Does it mean that it supports Qualcomm quick charge 3.0? Did you guys got normal charger or fast one?
Sent from my Redmi Note 8 using Tapatalk
In my China model, I got the 18W Quick Charge 3 charger. I might've seen somewhere which says it supports QC4 but it's still 18W
With my Indian model, 18W fast charger is provided which outputs : 5v=3A/9V=2A/12V=1.5A
I also got 10w charger. It does't support 18w, qc3 charging so you have to separately buy 18w qc3 charger.
I have the global version and I only got the 10W charger
Where can u see that , got a MDY-10-EF with mine.

Newest compatible 18W QC 3.0 Charger models are:

Hi guys, I use an original Xiaomi 30w I do not know if it is recommended, it is very fast it takes between 60/70 min 10/100%
I would just say that unless you really need the faster charge, it's probably better for the battery to charge it slower. General suggestion for li-ion batteries though I suppose you can't be sure for this particular case. Maybe 1.8x higher current has no significant effect on battery life.
Hello what is the UK version of the MDY-10-EF charger called ?
Thanks for the link. It's around 6$ in my country locally.

i wonder if 18W charger is good enough for long lige of the battery life.
i am very skeptical about charging the phone with 18W battery charger,
i am afraid that this charger could harm the life of the battery, so i more in the side that says, i will stay with the 10W typical charger.
Does anybody agree with that?

Agree.
18W charger only make the battery getting more heat, which is bad for battery.
I only use 18W charger if I'm in a rush.
Now I'm thinking to get myself a Blackshark funcooler and see if it able to reduce battery temperature while on fast charging.

Question 120w charger for global Red Magic 7

Hello guys, has anyone tried using 120w charger with global version? I know it fast charges the China version but maybe ours too? While ordering the phone, I want to add 2nd charger for work and it would be nice to get the fastest charger.
The hardware is the same, BUT it won't work on Global rom for now, maybe after they release the source code. You can flash China rom, but no-one had 120W charger to test that out, but in theory it should work (on CN rom)
Does anybody know if the 120w charger work with Global redmagic 7 now?
I just tried using a xiaomi 120w charger and it only took 40 watts

Question Best powerbank with fast charging ?

Hello XDA,
I own a Google Pixel 6 and I'm looking for the powerbank that charge the fastest the Google Pixel 6.
I read that the battery need the PD 3.0 and the PPS.
I'm located in Europe (France) but as long as the website ships to France, I'm interested.
Because for the moment, I only found Australian and American websites that doesn't ship to France or products are no longer available
PS : I own a "Charging - Dual USB 12V Car Charger" from Quadlock :
https://www.quadlockcase.com/collec...al-usb-12v-car-charger?variant=13525858582603
I'd like to know if it's the fastest car charger for the Pixel 6
It has 18W.
Thank you in advance.
I am also in EU (Bulgaria) and bought the xiaomi 50w 20000 mah power bank. It can both charge and be charged at 50W which is great. If it is available in France check it.

I have several of the ROMOSS Sense 6PS+ series. It only supports 18W (USB-PD) but is really fast. Do you really need the extra 3W?
Sorry, I just checked and they are hard to find now. But I would definitely recommend ROMOSS, none of mine have been faulty. The only problem is they do sell a lot of different models and the specs vary wildly, so you do have to check them carefully even if they look the same
