Hey fellas!
I've been using my opx since it came out and I would never pick a different phone, but recently my front glass cracked after falling. The display is fine, but every service I went to tells me they only replace both. Is there a way to replace just the broken glass? Also where could I get a spare one? Is Aliexpress good enough?

Same thing here mate. You can buy just the screen, but replacing just the screen is very hard. I haven't bought the screen myself so I can't help you with that.

I wouldn't recommend trying to repair it yourself.

So... I failed, and the glass has one crack on it that stretches from one side of the screen to the other near the bottom. Most people wouldn't mind it, and it could in fact be taken as maybe just a worse than usual scratch. I care a lot about it though, and it bugs the living sh** outta me! >:O
I was wondering if anyone could provide me with a step by step manual screen replacement tutorial, or video of some sort. I would get it fixed by some third party store, except they're charging over like $200... And I can't get warranty from Rogers since I'm a Fido customer, and because it wasn't even bought directly from Rogers. Or maybe there's some other solution to fix the screen? Like I heard of that scratch filling screen, maybe that'll do something.

Just fyi, on the Razr the glass and display are glued together making it impossible to replace just the glass.

Im also looking to find a way to defuse the two i have two RAZRs one with cracked glass one with cracked lcd wondering if i can make one with all the good parts and sell the other for parts but all ive heard is how to seperate the two but not how to place them together..

Few weeks ago, I dropped my DX too, although damage was less. I read about digitizer replacement on HTC devices (in general) and I read it's not that easy as on Samsung devices. One guy tried to replace digitizer and he ended up with broken LCD panel. You can also buy whole module (LCD screen + digitizer) but it's like a roll of a dice - you can get good lcd and you can get bad lcd too. It's a risk. You can send it to local repair centre. I was told it would cost about 100-120€. From then, I knew, I have to live with that broken screen. lol

Does anybody have experience with that shop? The price is ok, I would even order a new back cover there (because mine is a bit broken, too).
Hard to replace
I've tried to replace the touch screen (only the glass). In eBay it's about 25$ or something like that.
It hard, very hard to replace. I've ended with a broken LCD, because when try to separate the glass from LCD, LCD broke.
For me, it's better to replace the whole screen, not only the glass. I've seen it for 51$ in eBay, but worth it.

Look a few posts above, my post #3 contains a link (that's the shop I used, lcd + digitizer are stil working well).
Firday the 13th... aaaand I dropped my Desire X smack on the corner, leaving me with a nice mosaic of cracks all over.

Did you remove the digitizer from the lcd? If yes, I actually don't know what to do; but I used a complete assembly of lcd and digitizer as replacement. It's sticking at the four corners, at least for me.
Its is sticking but slight gap near the ui keys .....
I think there is dust between the screen and the digitizer

Well finally broke my screen on my G3.. only appears that i broke the glass and not lcd/digitzer but from what I'm reading it's all sealed and not worth my time to try to separate?
I found this site that has LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly with Front Housing (No Small Parts) for $89 which doesn't seem horrible. Just not sure what they mean by no small parts, I'm assuming they're referring to the cameras and motherboards.. Can anyone verify this is my best route? New to fixing phones, worked on plenty of small electronics just not a phone but I'm not near an upgrade and actually like this phone so replacing isn't an option.
Thanks for any help.. the broken section is causing my phone to do some wild things. =o/

No, do not waste your time attempting to separate the glass from the LCD, you WILL break the LCD.
You would come out a little bit cheaper ordering the glass and LCD assembly alone BUT it can be kind of a hassle sticking that part down.
Ordering it with the frame/housing is 100% how I recommend going about the screen repair for a G3 since it comes glued to the frame/housing... it's less of a hassle you'd have to worry about. Just transfer all of the internals to the new frame and you're golden.
However, I will recommend that you order the screen from the link I provided below... as the warranty on this screen will be good for 1 year, plus it's even a little cheaper. They are just currently back ordered until the 7th, but it's well worth it for a 1 year warranty.

you are right, the small parts include camera, lcd foam, speaker, and so on, my customer had bought the vs985 lcd here, you can take a look, hope this will help you
My screen had a crack in it i had a tmo g3 layn round that had a bad sim reader so i jus swaped the motherboard and bam no more crack in my screen

That's what I found for you, it seems to be a Chinese company (but OP is Chinese also), so you might want to give it a try if that works for you, the also posted a YouTube guide on how to replace it

You should contact OnePlus first and see what they will charge. For the full screen on a OnePlus 3 was like $85 or so, which was cheaper than eBay.

I got my replacement screen in the last couple of months - £80 for it...not great but I couldn't live with the scratch it had
I managed to get my camera glass broken even without dropping it. I don't know how. They said camera glass is 25€ here in Europe. Screen is for quite a good price. They said it's like 95€ which is not that bad considering that on the it's 120 part only.

So as you all may know how fragile this phone is & with the lack of a full surround case (and brains) the top of the phone is essentially asking to be smashed.
So it finally happened, as I was walking, the phone slipped out of my pocket & landed on the pavement, the top right hand portion of the glass is chipped & there's a very small hairline crack on the glass itself, the digitizer itself is fine, however the front glass absorbed the damage causing it to crack & chip, I was wondering if it's actually possible to just heat the front glass, remove it & stick on a new glass like the one available in the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Display-To...202764?hash=item3d793f64cc:g:B7oAAOSwhJFb5xgu
Or would I have to go out of my way to get an entire screen & tear down the phone to replace it, there aren't many videos on this phones repair, plus I can only seem to find the front glass. Any information & help will be appreciated.

Hey were you successful in replacing the glass? I see some on Amazon for $30. I'm in the same boat now. If i have to replace the whole display for several hundred dollars I'd rather just bin the phone and buy a different brand.
