Correct, video right now will "load" endlessly
You can fall-back to software decoding either explicitly through an app that allows for that or by deleting these lines in /system/etc/media_codecs.xml

Am hoping to see an update soon but I am checking it out, awesome, just a few bugs that need to be cleaned up. I understand that though

Progress for 07-09-2017
Graphics allocator fixups:
* Fixed issue where the recents menu wouldn't show previews for the apps
* Fixed issue where the system wouldn't allow taking screenshots
Surfaceflinger "GPU-to-CPU" fixups:
* Fixed screen artifacts when taking screenshots
* Fixed screen artifacts when rotating screen
Not uploading build for today...

Progress for 09-09-2017
* Fixed issue which caused boot to hang for 30 seconds without doing anything (fixed all boot crashes)
* Fixed GPS
* Fixed screen artifacts in recent app switcher (fixed all screen artifacts)
* Allow the system to fall back to software video decoding (good for watching 720p, not 1080p, video)

Awesome! So glad to hear this! was wondering if I could message you personally? is that okay?

I gave this one a try on my spare tab. Which was running full AICwith no probs. I flashed the new ROM with a full wipe and format. It loaded and sorta ran...aside from the fact that the native keyboard kept crashing and would not allow any numerical input before doing so. Made it hard to see much more of the system. I'm guessing that it is supposed to play nice with Magisk.
Will keep trying the installs as they come... ;-DeanoD

In the default keyboard, if you long press Q you write a 1, W you get a 2, and so on for all decimals

Tkz for the rom work great so far. Videos playing ok with AC3 player. New test browser but deliver what is needed.
Rooting is on plans?

:good: Great

So nice to see the note 10 2014 still get this nice support. Thanks dude!

Keyboard fix...
I got this up and running and installed Hacker's Keyboard (my go to kb) and it works fine. A few settings are still "touchy" and there is a screen lag with input.
But, it is a GREAT start. Keep up the great work. ;-DeanoD

Testing...testing 1 2 3....
I usually like to test a new ROM and beat the crap out of it by just digging around to see what happens. I've found one of the best ways to determine how responsive the system is by running a standard solitaire app. With this build being so new and raw at this point, I'm being a bit more gentle with it.
Had my first freeze and lock-up already. Just wondering if it would be of any help if I were to post the saved post crash log files, and would I be sble to upload them here? But the pen input has something to do with the crashes just like it still does with the AICP Nougat ROM. Hope I can be of some small help. ;-DeanoD

Hi Guys,
I would like to present you smart stay with functionality similar to S3 Smart Stay. Currently this will be in beta and i am looking for beta tester for this app.
Requirements:
- Own a S2 or other phones with front camera.
- Preferably owning other phones with front camera.
- Willing to report back the status and offer improvements.
Disclaimer:
- I am not responsible for any damage done to your phone, yourself or anyone else. ^^
Usage:
- always keep your camera facing you and stay at least a Distance away for the camera to see you.
FAQ.
what is Smart Stay / Active Stay ?
Smart Stay keeps the screen turned on till the user is viewing it. The front camera uses the eye tracking technology to save the power.
Why is the screen off when i am in front of the phone?
Camera requires a distance to capture your pretty face. Maintain ada distance for it to work properly.
When will you release the beta?
15th june.
Beta Starts: 15th June
Beta END: 29th June
What can i expect at the end of beta?
Both the lite and Pro version will be available.
Will it consume lots of Resources?
Any app runs in background will but so little you wont notice.
BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD THE APP, PLEASE READ:
* The beta app will come with a limited functionality and should be regarded as limited time beta trial.
* This app is by no means related to SAMSUNG, it's a private project
* At the end of the beta testing, Lite version will be provided and discount will be given for those who have provided a feedback on this page. (Good or bad)

only heard briefly about this
but "Smart Stay keeps the screen turned on till the user is viewing it." is that correct? means will turn off when i am viewing it?
if not, will it turn on if i get close to it? or still gotta use power button?
AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note Stock Gingerbread
It works perfectly on my galaxy note using stock rom. Only Problem is the SHUTTER SOUND. I tried to turn on the option for shutter sound. It works, but my only concern is it works by changing profile from regular to silent every 8-9 seconds. I wish there was some other kind of fix to it rather than changing profiles.
Anyhow, it is a great app and I love it so far. Great work.

Now that I think about it - there are a couple issues with the app.
1.) Called the same as Samsung's. I can see them having an issue with that.
2.) He's going to charge for the premium app - but I'm sure someone can/will port the S3 Smart Stay apk over. So it'll all depend on how much you get with that premium app..
Still a good effort though.
i have a xperia s and it says no frontface camera detected

I did a little cleaning.
@ the guy who started this all and ppl that have an attitude like him:
When do you people understand that these devs owe you NOTHING, ZIP, NADA, RIEN, ZERO, NIENTE, NICHTS in whatever language you want to hear it. They develop what they want, when they want. If you don't have the right phone for the rom, your problem. This is called xda-developers forum not *****ing users forum.
So to come here and complain on a rom devs thread about the lack of roms for your phone is not only off topic (and alone for that a violation of xda rules) but also an unfriendly act against that developer.
We will not tolerate that in the future.
Way to blow that all out of the water...I respect u all chill

That is actually "expected" by default
Since I use the "staging" cpu frequency "designed" from nik3r
So CPU0 is limited to 1.3 and CPU1-3 are set to stepwise
increased values up to 1.6
I didnt see a effect on performance so far on the long "run"
(just better battery )
but you are maybe right that after a reboot or initial flash
there are maybe some effects on performance since lots
of things are done there

Ok, so it should be fine when I leave it (just untick the "Set on Boot" right?) ? Good.
Hell yeah! Unicorn porn!
Just FYI I did some benchmarking to compare the "staging" CPU frequencies with full 204-1700MHz, the difference was less than 7% on CPU and 2% on GPU which more then justifies the increase in battery life and decrease in temperatures
So the choppiness you experienced was probably due to media scanner mapping your music or some similar one-time task.
And I can't stress enough: don't use SetCPU or similar on One X+. They are not designed for tegra and do things wrong by only setting up the active cores. Most of the time you only have one core active, so the others are not set and that results in very unpredictable behaviour.

[Mod][Xposed] Snapshare

Hey guys, sad announcement unfortunately.
I knew it was coming soon, since they were actively blocking my mods. I just received a cease and desist letter from Snapchat's lawyers for infringement of their intellectual property. And they're right, I am infringing their intellectual property. I won't be taking any further risks and will comply with their requirements to settle. I have and am going to remove everything, including SnapMod, Keepchat and Snapshare.
It's been a fun ride. I really loved developing it and really improved my skills. But I knew it had to stop some time. I understand they're not happy with it and there's no other option than to honour their requests. I'm going to think of something else to develop, of course it'll be open source. Something like an app (don't know what yet) or rom development for example. New challenges, new things to learn.
I'm going to remove everything from AndroidFileHost and the Xposed repository, ask the mods to close this thread and remove it after a few days, when most of you have had the chance to read this message.
I'm really sorry guys, I hope you understand I have to quit. I do understand them. Thanks for being such a loyal community.

1.6
-- Added preferences. You can now choose if an image rotates, and whether it will crop or scale.
1.5.2
-- Fixed a bug which didn't attempt to try to work for newer versions.
1.5.1
-- Support added for new beta versions.
1.4

1.2
-- Proper handling of video deletion.
1.1a
-- Fixed version to work with newest Snapchat version 3.0.4

So far only Portrait videos are supported, as Landscape videos are shown scaled down in Portrait mode in the upper half of the screen.
Also, if the video is too large, which can happen quickly if recorded with an external app, Snapchat will refuse to send the video. I actually don't even now if you can share any other videos than the ones originally created with Snapchat and saved before sending. Or videos saved by the Keepchat mod.
1.0
-- First working release. Only image sharing supported.

Three questions:

I've tried a few more times and it works now.
Yes I'm using snapshare 2.0.0 and the snap chat version is 5.0.27.3

Mine didn't actually load the image the first time. I figured it was because I hadn't opened Snapchat in a long while (i.e. wasn't running in the background). After I backed out and re-shared the image to Snapshare a second time, it worked perfectly.
Maybe that counts as a bug. Whoops...
Edit: Duplicated in both the beta and the new 2.0 stable, Snapchat 5.0.27.3.

I have it too, I'll look into it, but it's strange. I thought it did occur in previous versions by amcgavin too.
It occurs when Snapchat hasn't been opened (in a while), however the second time I share it always works.

I found out that for example file managers share videos in a different manner. I added support for that, I hope that solves your problem. That version will be released in several minutes. Please test it and report back.
If it doesn't solve your problem, please enable debugging in settings and share your Xposed Log with me.

Thanks for supporting the i9300! @dhiru1602 are you the device maintainer?
The new improvements on the hardware composer are included on the latest nightlies, right? Are there any noticeable differences on the system's smoothness?
very good rom
Performance is great, if the support for exynos4 just started and this is the result, then i'm really curious what will happen in the coming weeks.

notification background can be changed to any custom background??? cause this black background is really boring,i remember cm7 rom had that and since that i never found a rom with that option.after 1 year i still see same black background with same options, like,to change battery, clock and signal icons.running cm11 atm and there are some themes that changes notification background but i cant have my own background,i feel like in jail with not much options available.if there is any mod for that, please give me a link.will still try that rom cause im curious. Thanks
Does this ROM have that HWComposer fixed ?
I can confirm yes some graphical glitches are gone , but 3D performance is not good at all ,stutters and not smooth at all
Installed the ROM... 2 hours and no issues found... Will test further and report if any issues...
Thanks dhiru

I must say that, rom is really good, really really good also found that notification background can be changed which is super awesome.found no problems on that rom, works like a charm i tested all.the only thing that bothers me is that keyboard,i must always switch if i want put numbers and switch again back for letters.if you could managed to put s5 keyboard would be crazy awesome cause this keyboard to me is boring and kinda primitive.i will stick on that rom and thank you for your hard work for us.you did really good

Nice Rom but is it possible to flash a custom kernel?
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9300 mit Tapatalk
@dhiru1602
Was wondering if you could include the OmniROM circle w/ percentage battery icon instead of the CM11 circle w/ battery icon.
The OmniROM battery icon is less conjusted than the CM11 one of the same type and is easily readable.
Can I also ask if the following issue has been fixed in this ROM:
Low volume level when recording voice / video?
Is this the only issue that hasn't been fixed as yet in OmniROM and it's been really frustrating getting the devs to look into it and getting it fixed.
Can you install the Option "Move to EXTSD Card"?
Thank you so much, keyboard works and looks awesome ty again

@dhiru1602 sorry for the noob question. Had you look at this?
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/69221/
Some suggestions:
- Black edition (white is always so bright in the evening (and my wife complains about it )
- Extra menu options tweak when long pressing power button: Screenshot and Data ON/OFF (i use those alot)
- Under Device Control, is there another way to save settings and tick what has to be kept after reboot?
- Possibility to easily overclock with MAX CPU to 1704MHz with a slider (as on Boeffla kernel)
- CPU Governor: plz add: zzmoove with all profiles
* standard: this is the governors standard stock configuration as it comes out of the box
* tunable: this allows you to set each and every parameter of the governor as you like it (for experts, donation app only)
* optimal: profile created by user ZaneZam to have a slightly tuned governor for nice performance and good battery life
* battery: profile created by user ZaneZam to have strong battery savings (expect some lags however)
* battery yank: profile created by user Yank555 to have strong battery savings (less lags than profile before)
* battery extreme yank: profile created by user Yank555 to have extreme battery savings
* performance: profile created by user ZaneZam with focus on very good performance and less battery life
* insane: profile created by user ZaneZam with focus on pure performance
-*- I suppose most current custom kernels (Boeffla, yank, Arter, etc...) will not work descent on this rom
So is the camera here fully fixed?
And what about the low voice in recordings?
Thanks

Thank you bonuzzz and Valera1978. This OmniROM directly built from source is out of the box the smoothest and reactive ROM I've seen on the T-900, and it's also fully Open Source AOSP. I have been fortunate to run this version in alpha and beta over the past 4 or 5 days and I have not seen any extraordinary issues with the release., on the contrary it's the most reactive ROM currently existing for the T-900.
Note for v.2 - Be very patient in flashing v2, from that system format starts in TWRP until extraction kicks in there's currently a delay of up to 3 minutes
Just as under the SM-T900 cm11 tread, I have performed some functionality testing of the device and some extra features, they are shown below as working, not working or not tested. The functionality grid was developed based on weaknesses in earlier AOSP builds and ports for the large format Samsung Tab/Note Pro family:
- mtp - to activate go to Settings/About tablet/ and tap 8 times on Build number - The menu will now have Settings/{ } Developer options/ activated. Check mark USB debugging notify.
- adb
- External SD - working out of the box
- Ext4 SD card mounting on external SD card - Unfortunately, I don't have a free SD Card to test with, if someone is interested in performing the test and report back it would be great, but theoretically it should work
- USB OTG including USB storage
- Off-mode charging
- Encryption - failed restoration of encrypted backup data in TWRP 2.8.1.1, but this must be a TWRP issue - Encryption process in ROM takes about an hour to perform, if someone is interested in performing the test and report back it would be great, but theoretically it should work
-----------------------------------------
- Lid sensor
- IR blaster - I've used IR2.0
- OC settings - located in Settings/Performance/ if you swipe right between the grids a"power menu" is shown where a multitude of performance settings and information is available, most of them currently not used.
- Advanced reboot - to activate go to Settings/About tablet/ and tap 8 times on Build number - The menu will now have Settings/{ } Developer options/. Check mark Advanced reboot.
- Screen Rotation only seem to react if the app has a default setting. You can use the Set Orientation, or the Ultimate Rotation Control app to pick the rotation you desire.
-----------------------------------------
- Play Store
- Google Play movies download and playback
- Google Play streaming Movies & TV
- DRM - tested with Audible, Google Books and Amazon Kindle
-----------------------------------------
- Zona
- Popcorn Time - need upgrade to latest version 2.3 beta, includes built-in VPN and Chromecast support with subtitles, earlier version timed out
- YouTube 1080p playback - 1440p will work w. v5.9.0.12, but I believe this to be a false positive
- Netflix
-----------------------------------------
- Chromecast with #MirrorEnabler hack, allowing for screen cast
- MHL connector
- Miracast
-----------------------------------------
- Capacitive lights - I assume this is the backlights for the capacitive buttons
- Capacitive keys
- Home button - correct function performed
- Brightness manual + auto
- Vibrator
-----------------------------------------
- GPS lock and voice directed navigation
- WiFi both 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz are working
- Bluetooth
- Microphone
- Audio on both speakers
- Headphones
-----------------------------------------
- Camera - in progress the camera "works", but does not allow for single shots to be taken, and crashes in video mode, but panorama shots are working
- Torch as of v2
- Camera Sensors as of v2
-----------------------------------------
- Xposed Framework and modules - need re-initialization after each boot (common to all cm ROM's)
- Superuser - installation of SuperSU from TWRP is recommended - make sure to enter into SuperSU settings and execute "Install SuperSU backup script", under the CUSTOM ROM label, before re-flashing a ROM update.
- Hangouts Dialer phone calls via Hangouts
-----------------------------------------
All fixes are in progress and will hopefully be sorted out in the new upcoming release
The following are standard limitations and options for OmniROM:
Write access to your external SD-card works out of the box, but just in case i suggest to d/l JRummy's SD KitKat Fixer
init.d support also works out of the box, otherwise d/l Uni-init by Ryuinferno.
If you think to much heat is building up use Performance/Governor set to ondemand, or conservative and I/O Schedduler to bfq, in addition to increase battery time you can set Wi-Fi/Advanced/Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep/ to Only when plugged in and make sure the Wi-Fi/Advanced/Wi-Fi optimization/ is checked and reduce Display/Sleep/ to below 1 minute. You can also use some apps to improve battery eg Easy Battery Saver, or the more sophisticated AutoCon+ Save Battery & Data and and to put hanging apps to hibernation Greenify that I believe require Xposed Installer. To improve charging time, you can use an app eg Faster Charger. Finally, I have also used PurePerformances in order to further improve the performances and VIPER4AndroidFX to allow for louder speaker sound and enhanced listening experience.
new version is released. sensors are fixed. camera is not working yet
I have read about, and been curious about, omnirom for a long time now. I love this tab smt 900 but have not had a lot of luck with development so far. I am a tinkerer, i like to flash a rom, tweak to my satisfaction and run it for a long time. I will stay here for a few days to see if it gains speed and these issues are fixed. If so, it looks like a great daily driver. Currently running the cm build that @arcadia2uk helped with. THANK YOU ALL for your efforts and contributions so people like me can have so much fun. Looking forward to it.

That is the exact setup I am using on the SM T900. XHalo and Floatifications. It is close to halo on PA. I am on the cm 11 ROM but I am confident the ROM is irrelevant as to functionality.
I'm a huge fan of OmniROM and very happy to have it on my T900.
I'm shocked this project hasn't gathered more interest, CM is becoming convoluted while Omni, strictly IMHO, is generally a lighter/cleaner ROM.

Good question... There is nothing to release. Onmi L is very unstable for this tab because it doesn't have support of exynos platform. I dont have enough time and patience to port everything to omni. So I recommend to take a look to CM11.

Man, I'm sorry to hear you say that.
I'm running Omni on my T900 and love it. Everything runs fine for me. The only problem I run into, frequently, is the sensor issue. Basically I can't get the screen-rotation working with any consistency. Every now and then I can play with display auto-rotate settings (disabling, running an app while in a certain orientation, then enabling auto-rotate again .. things like this) that will prompt a rotation. However, 95% of the time I can't get the screen to rotate.
Other than that, I have zero problems with your port to the T900. It would be great if you would stick it out, it's a great alternative to CM!
Thanks again!

P.S. Isn't the T900 the SWEETEST tablet you have ever put your hands on?!?!?
Reporting back...
Hi,
I installed OmniROM and was immediately pleased with 1 thing in particular...OmniROM's brightness level (on the brightest level), seemed to be brighter than CM12. I liked the status bar mods (network in / out counters), date / time mods but would nice to be able to adjust colors indepently and also support theming. The camera works fine. I do have issues with auto rotation and hard keys backlight don't illuminate. Other than these 2 items, the ROM boots very fast, stable & responsive. Great job & will keep an eye out for updates. I am happy to be a test / data point and will be running OmniROM as my daily driver for the time being.
Kind Regards,

Any reason why T320 is not have this ROM? Its Snapdragon based so I would have thought it would be easier.
The camera stopped working for me or perhaps wasn't working fully before. Any chance on an update that will fix camera?
Appreciate it...

Appreciate the tip.
I actually went back to CM12 but miss a lot of things about OmniROM. I am rather surprised there are not more custom ROMs available in general for the Tab Pro 12.2" (SM-T900) [Beanstalk, Slim, PAC, etc.]. You would think there would be given the greatness of this tablet regarding size and performance. I keep patiently hoping and waiting with optimism.
