3rd party camera capable of HEVC shooting - LG V30 Questions & Answers

if there's 3rd party app in PlayMarket that's capable to store UHD 4K video directly in H.265 HEVC format?
SD Spectra is definitely capable of H265 compressing AFAIK

Up

I've found out that FiLMiC Plus is capable to shoot and compress to h265/HEVC straight

Galaxy A5 2017 4k recording with opencamera vs stock video camera

I read somewhere here that you can record 4k with open camera the resolution of the video is 3264 x 1836 which is 4k but youtube does not show 4k option.
The video recorded with opencamera looks way better than the stock Samsung video recording .So is smasung playing tricks with us?
New video this time 100mbs bitrate
How did you do it? I don't know how I have to configure the Opencamera's app to record in 4K.
Thank you very much!

You enable camera2 API and you change the resolution to highest and you can also change the video/audio bitrate you can experiment yourself .But Don't know if there is a difference between 1080p high bitrate vs 4k high bitrate to be honest haven't test it
wtf 4k video?
is 120 fps 1080p or 60 fps 1080p possible? btw I'm on a7 2017 but that shouldn't make much of a difference

How to play x265 4k/UHD video files on Mido?

I've read that our snapdragon chipset should support hardware acceleration for hevc but I am not able to play in a decent way x265 4k samples.
After several test with Mx player, Kodi, VLC and an alpha version of MPV, I realized that none of them is able to play the file with using HW acceleration.
There is any way to play UDH video files with our device?
Many thanks,
Alessio
PS:I am on Arrow Pie rom and Franco kernel performance profile

My idea is to use the phone to play x265 4k video in my 4k television though hdmi cable but it is out of topic.
The question is how to play them since our SoC should support HW accelerated hevc reproduction.
4k is a job for 8xx sd . Our device can't handle that heat. 720p 8bit hevc is the limit here

Seems like it really doesn't work.
I've got a $25 Android TV box at home that can play 2160p 10bit x265 movies without a problems. Maybe you should spend a few bucks to make your TV smart
Ok, many thanks for your answer!

Playing HDR videos via local media? and video playback in general?

Just been reading reviews of this phone and it's sibling the 6.2 and how both have HDR screens but apps like Netflix and YouTube don't let you select the HDR option on videos, but what about local video files such as MKVs through video players such as VLC, MX Player ect. does it properly display the video in HDR as it should look?
I won't link but there are plenty of HDR sample videos to download online in a variety of formats and containers if you are curious and want to test them
Thank you in advance!
