Increase headphone volume - Honor 9 Questions & Answers

There is a way by root explorer to increase the volume of the music in headphones? Thanks

Yeah, but if you do this then you will void the warranty and also you will not get OS OTA updates.

What values i must change?

Have you tried any app from the playstore?

Apps on playstore not work

In Call Volume Boost w/ Root

Now that we have root for our Z3v's... I've been playing around with trying to find/edit the files that control our phones speaker volumes (both in call earpiece volume and speaker phone volume). I don't necessarily need to increase the speaker volume for playing music because most of the time I'm using bluetooth, but I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in that as well.
I'd like to be able to just modify the phones system files rather than use some sort of booster app.
From what I'm been able to find, the file located in /system/etc/ called mixer_paths.xml is what our device uses to control volume parameters. I've seen where other devices have had these types of files modified in order to boost max volumes.
Is this something we can do with our phones? The in call volume, both earpiece and speaker phone are just TOOOO quite for me.
This is about as far as I can comfortably go as I'm not a developer/programmer.
Anyone out there comfortable helping out with this idea? Is it possible.

I also would like to know how to increase the volumes
I think it's almost comical how low the audio levels out of the headphone jack are. I don't know if this can be fixed or what but even playing at full volume it seems too low.

I've been using the Sound Mod from Z3 Development version 3.3 with Dolby Digital Plus (I think it has beast audio) & the volume on the headphones is so loud at the second click up. They even have a way to go back to stock.

I'm using the beast audio mod as well. Good stuff.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread.... You say you're using the sound mod. Did you flash that in recovery?
Checking this out first, just got root today and don't want a shiny new paperweight anytime soon

I did flash the sound mod through recovery but it only boosted speaker volumes, not in call volumes. I used the one without Dolby.

Wow so we can flash .zip files in recovery now? Again just making sure, just rooted and there isn't a ton of info out there for our device atm. Thanks in advance
I flashed it in the dual recovery as well. Just make a backup first because the zip they have to take it back to stock isn't for our phone. In other words if you ever want to go back you should wipe & reload the backup. And make sure you don't install the lollipop version.

Does this mod increase speaker volume in general? Like listening to music?

Low mic volume

I have really low mic volume on calls, people cannot hear me. I have read of lines you can edit in buldprop for other phones to increase mic volume. Has anyone else had this issue, and knows a solution?
Easiest way to don't mess with this is using special app that can modify it, maybe try one of them. I think the best way i using boeffla kernel as it has much more options aswell
Galaxy volume modifier, but you'll need to manually set the permissions for the volume file afterwards, requires root.

I've also been searching for a way to fix the low headphone volume, sadly to no avail. There seems to be a number of mixer_path_*.xml files that contain the settings for the audio, but nothing obvious like the other huawei devices to increase the gain solely on the headphones.
Hoping someone else has more luck and/or patience than I in finding a resolution.

Quick update, I've found which of the mixer_volumes_*.xml files my Honor 9 (STF-L09, UK) uses for the volume options; got this by removing them all from /product/etc/audio/hi6403 and putting each xml file back one by one.
EDIT: forgot which XML it was mixer_volumes_STF-Oversea_ce
Now just need to go through the XML file and see what of the options are available for the headphones, will keep you posted.

pubg volume or any other app volume solution

Hey ppol... Many pol are upset with poco f1 for its low volume while playing games like pubg, enemies footsteps are so unheard and u get killed....
Even after setting up the mi sound enhancement nothing seems to be working,
Heres the solution which i have been using successfully,
1) adjust the equalizer and earphones in ur mi enhancement.
2) download volume booster by goodev from google store.
3) before running any app... Related to sound, switch on volume booster, i am using only 10% of the enhancement as thats sufficient for my ears and headphones, as i have noticed till 20% boost it becomes extremely loud... Ahead of that is a persons individual choice.
And vola now u can play pubg, in ur wired or wireless headphones loud and clear. And plz. Dont forget to switch off the volume booster app after u have played the game as without earphones this app also boosts the speakers of the phone (not good for speaker life) and even drains the battery if its running in background.
And the best part no root is required!!!
Kindly note i am not responsible for nything goes wrong or ur phone or ear gets damaged kindly install and use the app at ur own risk and plz. Dont go deaf loud.

I am using 10.1.3.0 itself, there are no changes in this version as well related to sound, in fact i think deep bass has taken a hit in this update.
Anyways its a option i suggested, some ppol need loud earing some ppol... Need low earing, its just the matter if anyone requires lil bit of more loud volume.

We've been discussing general Poco F1 low volume level in another current thread in this forum. I suggested investigating sound booster apps available from the Play Store. I've heard of this problem with other Android devices and people have looked at this route to improve the volume level for music, media, ringtones, etc. I've no idea how well these apps work but it is probably worth looking into as a possible solution to your problem.

Equalizers dropping volume, is there a fix?

Hi everyone, as stupid as it sounds, after many years of using android I just noticed that using equalizers ( and i've tried many of them ) causes the volume to drop. I have discovered that this is standard behaviour since android lowers everything by -6dB to avoid clipping when setting frequencies to +6dB.
Since my phone can't really drive my headphones much, is there a way to bypass this behaviour without using apps or rooting the phone?
Note that the maximum Volume is limited by the hardware. So the only way to have equalizing at maximum Volume is to lower the overall volume. You may be able to work around this by using an audio player that ships its own audio library or has an amplification function. Maybe BlackPlayer works. Note that this will only change the behavior of the music player and that you may experience clipping.
If you want to do changes for all apps there is no way around a custom kernel (or rooting at least) that I am aware of.
The thing is that the stock presets inclued for example in my JBL Headphones app work fine, but as soon as i try to modify one of them the volume drops. This is true for other equalizers too, for example the stock samsung one. It has something to do with how the personalization is handled i guess.
I am currently using a rooted phone with MyAndroidTools to check inside the databases to see if i can find something to tweak but no luck so far.
