AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
With the rebrand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now actually LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

It's a Nexus - You tell...
FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see, if your device is build on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them (as long as they are LOS based), but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. Xposed is not yet available for nougat (officialy), however there are unofficial versions. You will need to use the version arm64/arm for SDK 25.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, your preferred root solution and reboot. Or you might just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. Boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again if you don't want to loose root, and then reboot.
A2. LOS based kernels sometimes come as a flashable ZIP file too. You can flash them together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue, if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, clear Cache & ART/Dalvik cache and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. How do I enable software buttons?
A. Settings -> Navigation -> Enable navigation bar. The bar can be configured separately in its settings.
Q I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A Check this out, if that doesn't work for you ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just flash Magisk again!
Q I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the root section in the AICP Extras menu.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-Ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How To Flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download needed Factory Images from Google (bootloader, radio and vendor) OR from my 2nd post (Current: 8.1.0 (OPM7.181205.001, Dec 2018)) and flash them via FASTBOOT in Bootloader Mode.
2. Download the ROM, GApps and Magisk 18.0 (or higher) (Optional) then transfer them to your device
2a. Google Apps: I'm using micro package from OpenGAPPS. Also you can find the link for latest GAPPS in my 3rd post.
3. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended)
4. Wipe system, Cache, data and ART/Dalvik cache
5. Flash ROM Zipfile
6. Flash/Install GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work)
7. Flash/Install the root solution of choice (optional) - Magisk 18.0 or higher versions works pretty nice!
8. Reboot to system
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the buildin OTA app that needs TWRP recovery installed to work.
You can still use LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery.
Zip gets saved in the "AICP_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery.
The ROM has GApps persistance in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
No need to flash root solution on every OTA update (= ROM Update) If you are on Magisk 18.0 or higher!
Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk v18.0 or higher

How to get my Fi Project SIM Discovered ? all credits goes to @flashblue. Please go and thank him
flashblue said:
I'd suggest these steps to get your Project Fi SIM discovered:
1. Go to post #1 and install the ROM completely following the instructions.
2. Setup your phone, but skip the window about inserting the SIM card.
3. When your phone is setup (it will be without Fi service) go to settings and choose security.
4. Make sure you select "none" as the security option. You don't want a pin for sure.
5. Reboot into "Recovery" and follow the steps in post #1 to install the ROM and Vendor image.
6. Your phone should boot normally and discover the Fi SIM card.
As you can see from my post count I am new at helping anyone. Hopefully I did this right

First I would like to say Thank you for sharing the rom. Quick question though. Will there be a flashable zip eventually? Don't have access to a laptop.

It would depend on what you're coming from what you need to flash and how. If you're on Nougat, then you'd have to fastboot flash the October radio and bootloader and maybe the vendor to be safe. In fact, it's better to flash the full factory image for a completely new Android release, then flash a custom ROM.
The OP has always said the ROM is a zip, as all custom ROMs are. You have to flash the radio and bootloader with fastboot, but you can flash any of the other IMG file partitions with TWRP and flashable zips.
There's a 7 point guide in the OP that's very clear about installation.

Templates were really outdated... Sorry for confusion... Now all should be fine ?
ROM itself is flashable via recovery zip. Although, factory images for bootloader, radio and vendor should be flashed via fastboot in bootloader mode.
To All:
You may want to test open commits on Gerrit with some new additions:
Link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1z9h6r3XzxTREU4NUM1VFkyOEE/view?usp=drivesdk
If you are on oreo build already, flash dirty, clean caches and reboot.
This is my current build already - it has same build date whit the build from Jenkins while it includes open changes...
Cheerz

Thanks for your efforts. I flashed this last night and it is almost flawless so far. Except there is no night light. How can I enable night light in this ROM?

I am not getting this.. does that mean after this build whenever we have to dirty flash the new build, we have to flash only the Rom ( root/kernel optional) and no need to flash gapps evrytime I dirty update to a new build?
Sorry for a dumb question.:silly:
Thanks!

If you flashed magisk at first boot, don't do it. Flash without magisk, let it boot, go through the setup process and now you can flash it. My experience with most of the current roms.

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and then changed to be based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
We changed again for Android Q with a base of AOSP repositories and some additions from LineageOS for device specific repositories.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out, if it concerns our code base. This ROM isn't LineageOS supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:

* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look here to see what day your device is built on.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels officially?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. Information about Xposed, EdXposed or Riru Core can be obtained from the XPosed General forums .
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the flashing instructions...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, this is the usual behaviour on flashing a new official build by (or using) the build-in updater service.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot" as the destination, then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash and reboot afterwards.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat AND the model name. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Q. You don't need to install any Add-ons, simply download the latest ROM and GApps, then follow the flashing instructions and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine though.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
NOTE:
WE ARE ENCRYPTED (FILE BASED FORCED ENCRYPTION). So if you are unencrypted format data partition or use any no_verity solution you want. We don't support it.
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended). Bluspark twrp recovery recommended.
3. Wipe the System, Cache, and Data (you might need to format the data partition in some cases!).
4. Flash firmware. Actual one is 10.0.0-H1. Download.
5. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
6. Reboot to TWRP recovery.
7. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work) and Magisk (optional too if you want a root solution).
8. Reboot and set up your device.
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 20.3 don't usually need to be flashed on every dirty flash.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
TWRP recovery is needed to be able to flash using the built-in OTA app.
Please make sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery, keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!
On encrypted devices you will have to enter your PIN/password in TWRP before the process starts.

wow, Aicp is out and from @GreekDragon.. Welcome it is a long time from IceCold kernel
OMG! AICP is here! OP5T dev is starting moving for real...
Do we need to be decrypted or can we flash on encrypted? You're going to get this question a million times so I think you should mention it in the op.
Thanks!
Will give it a try - thanks.

I think you need to be decrypted - see step 3A.
Ok, if you are from OB2 OOS , you need fully format data and all otherwise you will face bootlop ( I tried ) haha..
so fully format, clean flash rom, gapps, reboot. If u want root flash magisk.
rom is really great, so many features ..but I feel it is kinda laggy xD
P.S
after flashing ob1 , rom is smoother all good now
Yup, because we are on ob1 firmware. Ob2 is not merged and makes it laggy, gives fingerprint issues, etc...
:good: more info
WELCOME AICP!!!! One of my favorite ROMS
Will definitely give it a try. But my first concern is about the camera.. how is it performing?
I'm encrypted. How can I make myself decrypted? I'm new with this sorry. But I've been flashing roms for a while now. It's just strange that all roms I have tried requires people to be encrypted.. and this one requires decrypted. Thank you for the hard work dev and hope to hear frod you..

To decrypt you need to format data (not wipe) in twrp.
It will wipe the whole sotrage on your phone, so take a backup first (pictures, downloads etc).

I appreciate your reply mate.. if decrypting means wiping my internal storage.. that means I'm gonna delete everything right? Including the rom file in my internal storage?

Yes, that's right. So you need a pc or otg to take an external backup. But you need to do this only once.

Got you! Thank you so much for the information.. lastly, I am currently using a custom rom based on OnePlus 5T Oreo Beta 2. Do I need to do anything else before flashing apart from formating data for decryption?

Mate, how exactly did you flash ob1 in this portion? Coz I was able to get this ROM to boot up but as what you've mention with this comment, there is a terrible lag and my settings keeps crashing when trying to add a finger print . please help me out..
Do you need no verity zip to stay decrypted?

Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.

A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A. Check this out. If that doesn't work for you, ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just re-flash Magisk!
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)

6. Reboot and set up your device, enable developer settings and in them OEM unlock/Advanced reboot/USB tethering.
7. Reboot back into TWRP recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
The procedure might vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 17.2 doesn't usually require to be flashed on every dirty flash. Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time. Unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine.

You can't update official 13.1 to unofficial 14.0. you should either wait until official 14.0 releases so that you can update the current 13.1 build or wipe and clean flash unofficial builds.

I recommend clean flashing as per my instructions in the first place, you might be able to dirty flash from Oreo but there will probably be a lot of issues from dirty flashing

For aicp you can go from official to unofficial and vice versa just fine, no data wipe needed (although you should clean flash anyway for a new Android version)

1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, and Data (you might need to format the data partition!).
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work)
6. Reboot and set up your device
7. Reboot back into TWRP recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 20.4 don't usually need to be flashed on every dirty flash.
Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise, you should be fine.

With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and we was based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
For Android 11 we are now full AOSP-based.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.
*
*/
Feature list (rough overview)
In the beginning we would like to thank:
GZOSP team
LineageOS & CM (R.I.P.) team

@semdoc
@SpiritCroc

plus the rest of the crazy bunch that we call "team"
...
We are paying for servers that build nightlies/weeklies and everything that comes with it, so EVERY DONATION will really be appreciated and be used to cover those expenses.
Thank you!!

Yes it is too early ;-)
casting doesn't work, same bug as the aicp16.1-version(in earlier releases)??
Thanks for the build! Really appreciate your hard work. Because of you I am still able to use my favorite HTC Smartphone.
One thing I didn't find above was the GApps. There's no link and OpenGApps 12 not available on their page. So I flashed NikGApps basic package.

Hi guys, I'm new here, I've a M9 with stock Android7.
I would like to flash a custom rom on it, and already successfully unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP on it.
I cant find any mention about S-ON state, What is exactly S-ON means for me?
Can I flash this custom ROM to S-ON state stock android, or should i gain S-OFF before?

Since you have unlocked bootloader, you are free to flash custom rom. I believe S-on or -off dosnt matter.
At first clean install didn't worked for me either then I made a dirty flash and then flashed NikGapps, it worked however 'QuickHome' Launcher had crash loop then I made the pixel launcher as default and everything went back normal except Wi-Fi.
Anyone having problems with wi-fi? when turn on wi-fi, it finds and connect to the network after sometime it disconnects and never find any other wi-fi until I delete the saved networks. Is there any fix for that?
Also how could I handle the overheating? it's overheating much worst then before
