Battery settings display - LG V30 Questions & Answers

New to LG and I am wondering if there is a quick way to see battery usage info. The only way I can see now is settings--->battery---->battery usage. is there anything for the pull down shade, or a long press that will bring you to the same place? thanks

This is Android 7, so you can create shortcuts to any activity. Download "QuickShortcutMaker" app and search for Settings/com.android.settings.fuelgauge.PowerUsageSummary activity, then create a shortcut and battery usage screen will be available in a single touch

If it's like on G6 you should find a "shortcut for settings" option in widgets

Thanks so much for the shortcut tip....worked perfectly! Thanks again

HTC Home Battery Level Indicator

I just installed HTC Home via HHC. Very nice today plugin, I had never used it before. Is there a way to put a battery level icon somewhere on the today screen? Is there one in HTC Home? I wasn't able to find it if there is.
Thanks,
Jeff
p.s. I am running DCD 3.2.5 if that matters at all.
Vista Hide Battery Gauge
Unzip this and Put this executable in the Windows \ Startup, folder.
It'll place a sweet multi-colored battery bar on the top of your screen when you restart...and there it will remain.

Thank you. I was hoping to find something that sits on the titlebar on the today screen and any running programs (next to the clock). I have been unable to find anything. I found a program called Batti last night, which is very similar to the one you mentioned. It works pretty well.
Jeff
SmartMonitor* can do this. Many themes use it for RAM, GSM and battery level indications.
* Hope Proper doesn't mind if I link his site.

Thank you. I installed the cab, but I don't see anything. Is there supposed to be a setting or something that I need to configure?
Thanks,
Jeff
I personally like a program called Quickmenu. It will not only give you a cascading start menu but will alot show the battery level in % format but will also display available RAM. All dont in 2 lines in the top right corner of your screen. It will aslo free RAM aswell as give you a shortcut for soft resets within the menu.

I was just looking over the screen shot of your today screen, and you have the 1X icon, the network strength icon, the ringer icon, and the battery level icon. How did you get that battery level icon? That is the one I want, but it seemed to have gone away when I installed a DCD rom.
I have a clock in place of the battery level.
Jeff
you can either use the hhc settings or go into the registry and change hklm software/microsoft/shell and change the value of showtitlebarclock.

Remove clock on top bar
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\]
"ShowTitleBarClock"=0 (disable)
"ShowTitleBarClock"=1 (enable)
When you remove the clock it will replace it with the battery.

That's where I got it from. I will attach the zip file with just the HTC Home images. All you need to do is copy them into your windows folder.

[Tutorial] Data Toggle *Save Your Battery!*

Ok so those of you who own the Photon have probably noticed Motorola buried the Data Toggle option deep in menus we're not used to finding them in. None of the current Toggle / Widget apps support access to this menu with a single click.
**3G always on tends to drain your battery as it constantly searches to connect to a data signal. Turning it off when not needed will increase your battery life. Please note, this is not a 4G toggle...that is separate. This toggle will switch off 2G/3G radio only.**
EarlyMon (Android Forums) pointed out a free Toggle App, that with some exploration and trial I was able to come up with a work-around that allows a single press Data Toggle.
Here's a quick tutorial:
1. Download Widgetsoid2.x and install.
2. Long-press on Home Screen, and select "Widgets"
3. Scroll down to Widgetsoid Switcher 1x1
4. 1st option on the toolbar down on the bottom is "Network" select that.
5. Select "Mobile Data"
6. Next go to Theme...and customize the look you want for the toggle.
7. Select Apply on lower menu bar
8. A menu will pop up asking if you want to "Edit Global Preferences"...Choose Yes
9. The first Tab from top is "Data Toggle Mode"
10. Select "Root Toggle"
11. Press your BACK key...and it will return you to your Home Screen.
Done... There's your Data Toggle!
Sorry for my ignorance but why would this be needed...

Keeping your Data on consistently uses battery. The radio constantly cycles in search of data signal. Turning it off when you don't need it can boost battery life significantly.
Oh ok that makes sense... thanks for answering my question

I think this is especially helpful for those with poor signal quality that fades in and out all day long.
Good tip.
Data enabler on the market works for one touch
something i bought way back and I wasnt really impressed was switchpro widget
switchpro widget's data toggle doesnt work on photon. a shame
sweet, thanks. Is there any way to reduce the size of the icon? I couldn't find the option in Themes.
When adding it as a widget you can select its size. 1x1, 1x2, etc.

Unfortunately, 1x1 is just a little too big
You could try using Multicon widget app and make them really tiny.
TS out
Just as a heads up, I recommend you guys download Tasker if you really want to have control over your battery usage. Its not free, but that 6 bucks is worth every penny. There have been multiple articles on Lifehacker regarding this tool. I used it to create many different tasks that help reduce power draw, including a basic Mobile Data On/Off Toggle. Its an extremely powerful tool.

Yes...but it's EFFIN ugly...lmao!
Also in Notification
If you do not like the app icon you have the option of not showing the widget on the home screen but in the notifications area, give it try.

Oh good find!
10 chars....
what about beautiful widgets? they have one for mobile or juice defender witch turns off data when ur screen is off and its free
I use Beautiful Widgets and the data toggle doesn't work. Most won't...have only found these two so far. I prefer a toggle over auto off on screen off, as I use my phone alot...and don't always need a data connection.
I followed OP's instructions to use Widgetsoid2.x and it worked like a charm. Thanks!
Cool - thanks developer - so this is the recommended way to "manually" turn off/on 3g? Why didn't the android OS have this built in like the other network things like, radio / wifi / bluetooth / 4g /etc?

Nifty new Launcher

Thank me later ^_^

Thanks. (It's later now. Lol)
Over engineering. Pull down the notifications bar, pull down the Quickly bar, then select app. I can find it in my app drawer faster than that with just one click and no swipes But to each his own!
OAN: Did anybody check out Vire launcher they documented on xda homepage? It's pretty sweet, but I'm so used to LauncherPro+ that I can't switch to it.
I like it ok but I tend to stick with sense, holo and go.

I think the idea is its supposed to be a solution for accessing app's while in other apps, eg. multi-tasking without going back to the home screen first and then app drawer(which is a minimum of two clicks and possible a swipe or two).
With that said, I think that pie launcher, lmt or something, is a much better solution.

Ahhh kind of like a long home press, except you can specify the apps instead of using recent apps. I'm not that big of a multitasker but that's not a bad idea

[Q] Double tap home screen action

I was just curious if there is a way to set the action for when I double tap the screen. Maybe I missed it in the settings somewhere. I have an LG phone and use double tap to wake and put my phone to sleep. With Themer it just opens the settings dialog.

I found the setting but cant seem to find a system default setting. Knock on and off is one of the LG G2's best features. It would be nice if it could be used with Themer. Could it be considered for a future release?
Other than that great app.

Try knocking the status bar if you have that enabled. It should work.

Question App locked and won't close

So I use Indeed a lot asI am looking for new employment. But when I go to close out all the apps open Indeed has a lock icon and will not close out. How do I disable this lock so I can close indeed fully to conserve battery power?

Tap the square icon next to the home button (I know it's Back, and Home, but i'm not sure the name of the square button).
On the list of open apps, touch and hold on the task you want to lock/unlock for a second or two. A dialog will open with the option to lock/unlock the app.
My phone is a little wonky. When I bought the phone it never had the back, home and square buttons on the bottom of the screen. I am including another screenshot to show you what I see when I am on the home screen.
I figured it out. although this phone is an android the OS works similar to an Apple or an iPhone Man Am I glad this is only a temporary phone. I despise iPhones.

You can change it in settings for your future android phones, by the way
