Best audio mod for honor 8 - Honor 8 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello friends, just figured out a way to get awesome audio output from my honor 8.
Check out this link to get the latest Dolby audio mod and flash it.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/soundmod-axon-7-dolby-atmos-t3412342.
The speaker on the Honor 8 is a bit underwhelming but once you hook up a near decent earphone you are game.
Be sure to get at least a mid range earphone and voila! you wont believe the difference it'll make.
N.B: I am currently using the Axon 7 mod paired with a Xiaomi hybrid pro HD in-ears.

Hi, I am new to android and I am using honor 8 with Android 5.0.1.
I have never played with mods and would like to learn a thing or two about the Axon audio mod. I did go through the link you had provided. but would appreciate if I could get a tutorial from scratch.
thanks

Is it not possible to fix it?

You'll have to root and install TWRP first.
To do that, simply search the forums for root and TWRP for Honor 8. There are lots of excellent tutorials available.
When that is done, simply follow the link in my post to download the Dolby axon audio mod by Ahrion, flash it using TWRP and download Poweramp music player from the playstore. After installation, go to settings, audio settings and untick the default option then select musicFX.
You wont believe it when you hit the play button to start your favourite song or watch videos. Its better heard than told as its a whole new experience.
Best of luck sir.

To answer your question, you need to first unlock your bootloader, flash TWRP, format data to remove encryption, flash Magisk, then flash Dolby.

Magisk module of V4A works for any phone for sure 100%. I like it more because it's more flexible. Dolby Atmos just makes it louder and a little clearer for me.

[MOD][PORT][N]aptX codec working for Axon 7 (somehow)

https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/themes/mod-aptx-codec-t3521228?nocache=1
I found this thread about the OnePlus 3 aptx working codec, that as Axon 7 does not receive official support for standard AptX. It works flawlessly, at least with my headphones LG Infinia HBS900, but only after turning on/off button on headphones. Check presence of the codec with Catlog. Working only on Android N (BadBoys 3.1 now). It should work with Lineage to, worh to make a try.
Really great news since I'm having 2 LG Tone Platinum that's support AptX HD but does this work on stock android and bootloader locked?
I'm not willing to sacrifice 3 year warranty here in Europe and second one I know there's option to re locked bootloader and get back to stock unofficial through XDA but I'm not having the knowledge and don't want to risk as I never done root or unlocking bootloader since I didn't find any benefit on that.

@paatha13
Why would you sacrifice 3 years 3 years warranty. Zte can only deny your warranty by proofing that there is a software error.. (EU law)
You can revert to stock by reflashing stock rom.
Post a step by step explaining how to install this? Also does it work on stock ROMs?

It does, on nougat. B15 and B19. I have been using it for a while.
Just go into the link OP posted and download aptx-hd zip from that thread. Flash it in TWRP and you are done.

Thanks. Two more quick questions:
- After a new ROM is installed and everything is wiped, I assume I'd have to flash this again and it's not off safe in some other partition or something?
- How do I know it's working?

-Yes, you need to flash it again as it installs itself on the system partition in the libs folder.
-Just install MatLog from the playstore to access the logs in real time and grant it root access. Then, filter the logs by typing aptx in the filter bar of MatLog. It won't find anything yet until you start playing your music via bluetooth to your paired aptx/aptx HD device.
(You have to start MatLog BEFORE playing the music via bluetooth or it won't find anything!)
It's kind of disappointing ZTE didn't include official AptX HD support on Axon 7 from beginning.
Not everyone prefer wired headphones but a lot of people prefer Bluetooth wireless stereo headset.
But since there's a way of doing it even now I assume ZTE could implement it in future update.

Well let's hope will see support on Axon 8.
Or why not even different HiFi audio protocol like LDAC that Sony offering on their device witch is on par or even better than AptX HD bring.
One thing is sure my next device must include HIFi audio or else not gone take.
As much Axon 8 is brilliant device no HIFi audio no party to me.

Can flash AptX/AptXHD on official ROM?
Do I also need a custom TWRP?
Has anyone already tried out the aptx-HD-version on their current A2017U or G stock rom?
According to that thread, Lineage OS already supports AptX. Does the device support aptx-hd?
Does This still work on latest Stock Roms like B04 on G version?
Thanks!
I found this magisk module : https://github.com/Love4Taylor/Magisk-aptX-HD-Enabler
i didn't have aptX device don't know if it's working

Woah momma, that's like $1,350 worth of BT equipment! I'm always afraid of buying nice buds since they always seem to short out on me eventually. I have been avoiding BT, but have heard some great things about the Q5. How do you like it? Have you used it with lesser buds/cans?

I still like using V4A with my external DAC. It allows me to add FET Compression and customize the sound further using different impulse responses via the Convolver Module. I also listen to Spotify occasionally and the Spectrum Extension Module is nice for lossy media.

There are two modules the official one and the minimal one (by ShadySquirrel). To use OP's configz, you will need the full version.
Thx
I'll give my two cents and say that the convolver in this profile makes everything sound so bassy it's terrible. Disabling that however makes it sound great!

Audio output of Redmi 5 Plus

What is the Audio output of Redmi 5 Plus? does it support 24-bit/192khz audio or Hi-Fi output? I am using Power-amp and it shows native output as 16-bit/48khz. There is an option to activate 24-bit/192khz output but I am not sure whether it works or not. I really need some clarification

I use custom miui roms. Such as mi-globe and miuipro because I like miui which is half of the reason I purchased a miui device. Far as custom aosp I think the most feature packed rom is havoc OS.
Resurrection Remix the masterpiece of course.
I'm getting an Error 7 so following some instructions on youtube for getting around that. Hopefully it works
Edit: the how to fix video worked perfect. Installed resurrection remix and it's a great rom. So so so much better than the stock mui 10. It comes with AudioFX installed but need to figure out how to get viper4android installed. I did it through magisk but it doesn't show up as an app in the drawer but shows up on a list in magisk.
I suggest you installing Havoc Os
If you like Pixel stock Android with extra options, I suggest you to install Pixel Experience Plus. For me, is the best stable of all AOSP custom roms for this device.
