OK Google Anywhere - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hello friends,
I need a help. I have a kenzo running Resurrection Remix Final build (7.1.2).
The problem is "Ok google" detection while Screen off and Charging is not working. I have enabled Ok google anywhere in Google assistant settings. It is working fine when the screen is On, but not when charging. Google app is installed as system app. It used work while I was on MM.
Some people are saying that they are getting it working while charging and screen off. I need ok google anywhere even when the screen is Off. for that I have installed assistant enabler xposed framework and checked the "OK Google anywhere" option. But no luck.
I have read somewhere that google has removed the support for OK Google detection for devices other that pixel to make it exclusive to Google phones. If its right then how can some people (with the same device modal) get this feature working. Am I missing something ?
So please can anyone help me to get it back ?
or point me to the solution ?
Thanks in advance

Maybe you can edit build prop to a pixel device? & for me it works only when screen is on

does it really work if I change the modal name. Editing buildprop may interfere with other stuff though..

I found this tutorial and decided to make a video of it for you.It would work only with snapdragon 800 devices running Kitkat 4.4+ and rooted. This won't work otherwise at the moment.Make sure you update to the latest play services and Google search apps.

Yes it works
But sometimes when google search get killed you have tap it again to make this work.
Is there anyway to keep this alive?
Works like a charm! Does this "mod" bring a battery hit?

This is now avaliable for non_root users as well.

Open Google NowSearch for “OK Google everywhere”Click any link [may be unnecessary but I did it]Back out to Google NowGo to Settings>VoiceAudio History and Anywhere Detection should now be available as settings.

Using it now. Only works with English (US) as far as I can tell. Anyone knows if this thing uses the low power sensor processor portion of the snapdragon 800?
I don't seem to get an option for Debug in google search to enable those options. what went wrong?
Hi Guys,
Just now I found where is my problem with "ok google". The LG On-Screen-Phone notification system is somehow incompatible with the OK Google keyword detection.
To disable it, go to Settings > General > System > Accessibility > Services and disable the On-Screen-Phone notifications.
After the change of the open search everything worked. But I still had a problem with detection on the desktop. Here it turned out that only works with the Google search widget 4x1.
Already everything is perfect.

Most likely not. It just runs as a background app and keeps a wakelock when the phone is charging. To use the low power sensor of the SD800 it would require some deep kernel coding.
Sorted...didn't had the latest google search...installed the update from play store and voila the steps mentioned worked! Thanks

The Complete Pixel Experience

For this you must have root, Xposed, and TWRP.
The attached flash able zip includes:
-Pixel Launcher
-Pixel Dialer
-Static wallpapers
-Boot animation
-Ringtones
-Notifications
-UI sounds
For some reason xda is not allowing me to post the zip so here is the download link: https://www.mediafire.com/?jzfi51r10c35rdb
Simply download the zip, reboot to TWRP, flash, reboot
I take no credit whatsoever for this zip. This is the zip that was taken from the article here: https://www.google.com/amp/phandroid.com/2016/10/21/pixel-features-apps-any-android-phone/amp/
To get Google Assistant:
1) Download and install the latest Google apk from APK mirror. It should be at least version 6.6.14.21 and have a target of Android 7.0.
2) Download Xposed Module "Assistant Enabler". Activate and reboot.
3) Once rebooted, clear data and cache of Google App. Google Assistant should now pop up when you long press the home button.
Note: "OK Google" does not work.

Yes I have. The only minor issues are that OK Google for Google Assistant doesn't work as I mentioned and for some reason all of the new sounds show up under Music instead of Ringtones in Settings

Cool. I flashed the file. Dialer is in fact there but it is still using stock ZTE In call UI. Anyway to use Google Dialer for in call ui? I am about to try to get Google Assistant working.
Thanks.
Did you set the Pixel dialer as the default dialer app in Settings? If that doesn't work you can delete the stock dialer app with a system app remover like I did
Can confirm OK Google is not working which is annoying but everything else is pretty dope.

Might be worth a try-
In order to make OK Google work on my Nexus 6, I had to set my phone language to English (UK), also set search language, google assistant language, voice language... basically everything language related to English(UK).
The reason is a bug related to English(US) language file. All these information along with a detailed guide can be found in Nexus 6P section.
It might also require a app data wipe for the Google application.
My Axon 7 hasn't arrived yet, so I am unable to test myself.

For some reason the Axon 7 (US) doesn't have UK English as a language option so this won't work

I may be wrong, but I remember reading that "OK Google", in Google Assistant, only works with Nougat (Android 7.0+) phones.
You could anyways use Nova Launcher instead to get "ok Google" to work. With latest beta you can almost make it exactly like the pixel launder

So when you get or receive a call is the stock android dialer interface ? Or the Zte interface with a small picture on the upper right-side ? Thanks.
I'm using Google Dialer v ...rc8 without root but the calling interface is still the Zte one.

I already have it looking "Pixel" with the latest Nova Beta... I also have "Ok Google" working with the standard Google app..... Just not sure if it would link to "Google Assistant"?
If someone tries it with Nova and gets it to work, I'd like to know?
Thanks for sharing
Is Pixel dialer working? If yes can you send SS?

Because Xiaomi are an ecosystem company, like Google. They'd rather we used their apps; measures to restrict use of Google Apps enforce this
Edit: having had that little hissy fit, I just installed it fine

Anyone tested this? Fast? Good Battery?
Since it's not in the not working list but also not in the working list I'll ask even though I basically know the answer already.
Is VoLTE/WiFi or IMS services working on 17.1? It's quite literally the only reason I'm still on stock based as in the office building I work there's limited 3G reception and I usually rely on VoWiFi.
I wonder if VpFX is working with this rom, anybody tried viper?

Ok, I found a bug: it isn't possible to hide navbar and notification bar. If xou select this option, the app lineageos setup crashed. Extended desktop doesn't work.
Btw. Is it possible to get dark theming for telefon, messager, contacts app? Maybe a other theming engine like substratum or hexinstaller?
I saw Vendor is only for NoForceEncrypt. What if i wanted forced encrypt, where to get the img file. Thank you, please.

You misunderstand that! With this vendor file you can select without and with encryption! See security setup!
Without that file, encryption is set to on all the time!

1 - seems to be an issue with lineage at the moment as far as we can tell. (aswell as a few other bugs in their trees at the moment)
2+3 - works fine for me and all the other n9/s9/s9+ users of this rom on telegram, mailbox set the correct number by default for me and i can edit it aswell just tried, loudspeaker/bluetooth speaker is working fine for calling.
Feel free to share logcat if possible, would be interesting to see what has broken it on your setup and not for anyone else, thanks
edit -
just saw you edited your post and removed 2+3, glad you got it sorted.
And whats about dark theming in telefon, sms, contacts app? Any suggestions?

No clue, wait for lineage to update them in their repos i guess, i don't like 3rd party theming apps.
I am using google contacts and messages, but keeping the stock dialer for native call recording.
Seems pretty sweet but Android Auto is kind of important. You think a fix is possible?
Why is it not mentioned in the instructions that Flashable_G96XF_Firmware_TWRP_DTAD_r2.zip is needed to be able to boot? Without it, a boot loop occurs.
Also, "Hey Google" isn't working properly. It turns itself off after enabling it. I used Open GApps nano. Someone got it working?

I previously flashed BL_G960FXXU7DTB4.zip from the Telegram channel before flashing the ROM itself. I see that there's now a new BL on the channel: DTAA instead of DTB4. IDK if flashing the DTB4 BL instead of DTAA could've been the reason I wasn't able to boot earlier without flashing the firmware zip.
I'd rather not and discuss it here. When I toggle the "Hey Google" switch on, go back a page to Assistant settings and go back to Assistant Devices > Phone again, the switch is turned off. Even during the time the switch stays on if I stay on the page, Hey Google can't be triggered.

Energy Ring app - working for anyone?

Anyone get this to work on their Pixel 4a? I saw this thread, went to check it out on the play store. Installed it, tried to activate it but the app said my device isn't supported. Strange because it says right in the app description "supports Google Pixel4a"
Which exact one did you download...
It works perfectly fine for me
Yep works great for me
It didn't work for me either. At first, I thought it might have something to do with having changed the device fingerprint via MagiskHide Props Config to a Pixel 3a in order to pass SafetyNet. I set it back to a 4a and rebooted but it still didn't work. Perhaps there is something else that's interfering

you have to allow energy ring to get a inerne connection
without it won´t work at the first start
after the first start id dont need internet
Works for me, just using the Universal Edition out of the play store.
After a bit of searching I got rid of the battery percentage from the Settings and the normal battery icon by using the Activity Launcher app. So much cooler with just the ring.
The ring idea would have been great if Google had cooked it directly into Android, it's a lot cooler and turns the punch hole screen lens into more of a feature.
Anyone else with an issue on Android 12? It seems to render the top of the screen non-responsive in apps/home screen. Only place it doesn't seem to have this effect, is in Settings.

Yes, I experienced this issue on my Pixel 4a after the A12 install. Very odd. Had to uninstall Energy Ring to resolve it.
It works flawlessly for me even after all a12 updates to present.
I use Energy Ring - Universal Edition on my Pixel 4a running Stock Pixel A12 and it works perfectly
