Uncryption unsuccessfully - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

When i flash any rom with zxc recovery at booting it say uncryption unsuccessfully plz enter the correct password
I try wipe cache and data

Format your data partition!
+ Plus when flashing roms also patch the boot image so it does not get encrypted on next boot of rom.
SuperSu/Magisk and Custom Kernels have the above patch, plus a script called FED patcher.
TWRP doesn't work well with encrypted devices.

Format data
This is encrypted by the company..so to avoid this first you need to take a backup of the internal storage and then copy the ROM files and gapps in the SD card ..now open twrp recovery then click on wipe then format data...then type yes
This will format the internal data ..(SO PLEASE TAKE A BACK)
..Now install the ROM using sd card and enjoy the ROM..
Hope this solves your issue

If you are rooted and have CWM Recovery:
1. Boot into recovery
2. Mounts & storage
3. Format sdcard
_ full wipe does not format internal SD.
The phone uses a single partition for it's app/data storage and internal sdcard.
So all you can do is delete all the contents ("rm -rf /mnt/sdcard/*" in Terminal) but not format it.
Enter this code but ###WARNING### there will not be any other dialog or yes or no option, after you enter the last "#" it will start to factory reset. I tried it and it cleaned out my internal SD card.
*2767*3855# Full
factory reset (Don't dial
it does not ask you to
confirm unless you have
problem)
Read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827817
Or, go here Megawipe
Copy the required zip to your SDcard and reboot into CWM recovery. Install the zip and your sd card will be completely and utterly wiped.
WARNING ... make sure you have a flashable rom on your ext sd card before you do this because your sd card will NOT be accessible after you do this wipe!!
Remember the warning above!!

[Q] how to delete all files that have accumulated from flashing custom roms

I want to remove files that have accumulated from other roms. In others words like stock, but with custom rom. I like Beanstown106 with SD swap.
Thats a little tricky with sd swap but you will have to painstakingly go file by file and see if it's something you have deleted to something that you are still using. If you have any apps that created a folder and are gone for good then you are safe to delete. But avoid any system app folders and anything that you are still using like pictures, music and so on avoid.

thx for help
I'm installing cleanrom ace 4.9 my goto rom next to beanstown106. No SD swap and I was thinking of formating SD card. Now how do I erase what a factory reset won't delete.
I usually wipe EVErYTahING wenever i flash something new sd card and all just to start from scratch but all i got on sd card is pix and music so its easyily backed up

from recovery, format internal and external sd. that will wipe everything out completely.
I did consider formating from recovery. I'm just scare of deleting the OS and my phone ending up being useless. I did research and what I read it won't. Any advise is welcome THX to everyone.

How would it end up being useless? Its no different than a pc...your reformatting and installing the OS on a clean slate.
I was thinking if I formated the internal it would delete recovery as well. And had no way of installing a new rom. Thx again really help full.

I want to clean up my directory structure. If I format the internal and external sd using recovery (TWRP) to wipe everything, what rom will boot? Will my custom rom boot or will the original verizon rom boot? Will I have to unlock the bootloader again? Thanks.

you will lose all data and need to reflash the rom in recovery...no you will not have to unlock again, nothing performed from recovery will overwrite the boot.img.
I was scared of the losing my OS as well, but it's not that hard. Treat it as two steps. Formatting your sDCard, and then prepping your SdCard by doing a Nandroid backup to your SdCard, and copying a flashable ROM (and kernel if your ROM does not flash a kernel) to your SdCard. Before formatting your SdCard copy anything you want to keep to your computer. I just copy the whole card to my computer.
Reboot and do your data resets and wipes, including internal storage (format data in twrp) Then flash your ROM that you put on your ext SdCard. Your nandroid backup is your insurance. Worst case you boot into recovery and restore your backup.
(But you should still have a working toolkit or ADB on your computer and you can recover from any screw up)
As long as you have what you need on your (ext) SdCard before wiping internal storage, and you only do a data reset and cache wipes and only do 'format data' you will be fine.

wiping is done before flashing not after flashing !!
proper wiping include wipe data/factore reset wipe cache format system and wipe dalvik cache.
next tiime use philz recovery and chose the option clean wipe for installing new rom option.
for the time being just do the wipe i mentioned before and flash any roms available in your sdcard / ext sd card.
if you dont have any roms on your sd card then try adb push rom.zip to the root of sdcard. read more / google adb to know how to push files to sd card. this wont flash the rom.zip but will copy files to your sd card so that you can flash them through the recovery...

Flash kernel which has the ability to mount sd card in recovery. For example, TWRP recovery in AOSX has that ability. From there on you will be able to flash any rom zip.

I have some confusion regarding ROM installation. The usual step to install rom, for eg is
How to Install:
1. Download the ROM
2. Extract boot.img and flash it
3. Copy the ROM to your SD Card
4. Boot into recovery
5. Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, and system
6. Install the ROM
7. Reboot

because it doesn't get deleted that way, it won't wipe internal memory (or in other words, our virtual SD card), you will ipe data, cache, dalvik cache, and system

wiping data partition makes internal storage un-decrytable to twrp recovery

hello,
As I face some issues with my rom thought to do a fresh start by resetting the data partition via orange fox recovery which bases on twrp and try to flash another rom. but once I wiped the data partition recovery could not decrypt the internal storage data on the next boot. honestly, this issue happens to me several times, and thus thought to start a thread for some helping hands for this issue. if anybody faces this please let me know the solution. thanks
somehow I got the data partition decrypted by re-flashing the same rom

You didn't get it decrypted. It's still encrypted but since you flashed the same rom that was there, the encrypted data partition is readable again. If you try to install a different rom you must FORMAT data partition to decrypt it. Wiping is different from formatting.

Well Me too faced this with "Curtana"
I forced to use SD card to copy the rom to phone and install it.
( I will test today Pixel experience Recovery to make sure )
Recovery tested:
-Pitch black recovery project
-twrp by mauronofrio
You could have sideloaded the ROM from your computer. No need to use separate SD card for ROM installation and it's also faster.
