Can't install Magisk v14 on my Sony Xperia Z5 compact running Android 6.0.1 - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello to the community!
Because my question in the "Magisk General Support / Discussion"-discussion wasn't answered yet and nobody could help me I try it in this discussion:
I have two Sony Xperia devices on which I want to install "Magisk v14", both running Android Marshmallow (Android 6.0.1):
Sony Xperia Z5 compact (E5823; Android build E5823_32.2.A.0.253_1298-1220_R2C)
Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet compact (LTE; SGP621; Android build SGP621_23.1.A.1.28_1289-9163_R6C)
This is my procedure to install "Magisk v14" having in mind that its mandatory to use an original stock rom without installed super user solution, but with custom recovery and virtually restored trim area so that the device looks like never has been unlocked or rooted:
download the appropriate ".tft" file via "XperiFirm"
download the appropriate "TWRP" image (version 3.0.2-0)
extracting the kernel with "Flashtool 0.9.23"
building a boot image using "Trim Area - Proof Of Concept" (great tool to virtually restore your original TA Partition. Your phone looks like never have been unlocked or rooted). Building options were: Include recovery image, dm-verity disabled, Sony RIC disabled
flashing boot image with "Flashtool 0.9.23"
installing "Magisk v14" with "TWRP 3.0.2-0"
On both devices I was able to boot into recovery and install the "Magisk v14" zip file without error.
But only the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet compact boots into Android after "Magisk v14" installation.
The Sony Xperia Z5 compact stucks in a boot loop so that I have to install the "Magisk Uninstaller" to remove "Magisk v14" completely. Then my Sony Xperia Z5 compact starts up without problems. I then tried installation with clearing Dalvik cache, but I got stuck into a boot loop again.
Does anyone made similar experiences or has a solution?

[Q] Sony xperia z tablet not loading recovery mode. How can I flash zip files?

Hello Xda Developers!
I'm a total dummy in android dev. I was follwing this tutorial on xda-developers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2776752 on how to install call function on Sony Xperia Z tablet. However, I noticed the tablet wouldn't let me load recovery mode (in step 4) to install XTZ-Call&USSD Enabler v2.zip. Is there another way I can install this without entering recovery mode or is add recovery mode feature to the phone.
Thanks
Sony does not ship with recovery installed you need to install yourself, if rooted then you will have no problem installing, the latest version 2.8.19 is working fine for me. Look it up in general section by [NUT]

Xperia Z5 Compact E5823, tried to root, shows "Starting apps"

Hi
I have SonyXperia Z5 Compact E5823.
I tried to get root on my device, but it is a failure.
My device stuck with below message every time boots up.
Android is starting
Starting apps...
I did below process.
- Unlocked Bootloader
- flashed FTF file with E5823_32.2.A.0.253_Customized HK
- Wrote boot.img by Z5C_AndroPlusKernel_v20.zip(14,501KB)
- Wrote recovery.img(31,212KB)
- Wrote "SuperSU in System-Mode" by UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-SYSTEMMODE.zip(4,234KB)
I can enter only TWRP mode.
Any ideas on how I can get root on this device?

Bro, use AndroPlusKernel v34 or above as that is compatible with 32.2.A.0.253
Flash ftf, boot.img, recovery.img, boot the Phone till home screen and then Flash SuperSu.
Bootloop Issue could be SuperSU system mode. Any specific reason for Installing SuperSu in system mode??
If some specific apps can't detect root means you can check this Post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66140836&postcount=5493
Awesome!!
Special thanks for your answer!!
I did below process and success to get root my device.
- download "Z5C_AndroPlusKernel_v34.zip" file below URL
https://kernel.andro.plus/kitakami_r2.html
- unzip that file and use "fastboot flash boot boot.img" command.
Then, I can boot my device.
But, that process couldn't get root yet.
So...
- install "SuperSU-v2.78-201609011115.zip" file in TWRP mode
Then, getting root in my device was success!
Yes but since then encryption doesnt work any more!

PRFCreator for pre rooting firmware

Hi all,
unfortunately I cannot post this message on the sony cross device dev thread since I am a relative new member and cannot post in the dev threads. My question actually is related to the following thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-prfcreator-easily-create-pre-t2859904
I want to flash a pre rooted lollipop with latest firmware from Sony on my Sony Xperia Z Ultra. For that reason I used the PRFCreator.
I did the following:
I downloaded with Xperifirm the latest firmware for my Sony Xperia Z Ultra. I downloaded the following version: C6833_Customized CE1_1276-2235_14.6.A.1.236_R4D
I created the ftf file according to the steps outlined here: http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/
The last step was to use the PRFCreator as outlined here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-prfcreator-easily-create-pre-t2859904
I used the following sources
- For SuperSU: SuperSU-v2.46.zip
- For Recovery: ZU-lockeddualrecovery2.8.26-RELEASE.combined.zip
I rebooted the phone into TWRP, made a wipe and installed the zip file which was created before with PRFCreator. Unfortunately the phone does not boot after the flash. No LED is lighting, screen is black and no boot logo to see.
My bootloader is unlocked.
When I flash the self created ftf file with the flashtool (without SuperSU and without recovery) the phone boots. Can anybody help me whats going wrong and how I can created a pre rooted firmware with latest sony firmware for my Sony Xperia U Ultra?
With TWRP Log
Here is the TWRP Log: https://pastebin.com/FJcpyT3p
What seems strange to me:
Code:
Couldn't find partition with matching uuid
run_program: child exited with status 1
about to run program [/tmp/sinflash] with 6 args
Kernel flashed.
Before I flashed the prerooted ftf file I did the following:
I flashed C6833_14.1.B.1.532_NUT.ftf
I rooted the device with the following method: Bin4ry's "Root MANY ANDROID"
I installed ZU-lockeddualrecovery2.8.26-RELEASE.combined.zip
Hey have you tried kingroot then removing it with super su method?

I figured out that the problem was due to an older twrp build. After I used TWRP Version 3.0.2 for togari it worked. Unfortunately I can not use dual recovery but that is not a big issue. I followed the following guide to install TWRP 3.0.2:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...ent/twrp-recovery-2-8-7-0-2016-02-03-t3307043
With this version I could install the image made by the PRFCreator.

Bootloop after reflashing stock kernel (32.2.A.0.253_1298-1220_R2C kernel)

Hello to the community,
I need to revert to stock kernel on my Sony Xperia Z5 compact ("formfactor" E5823). So I thought flashing the stock kernel which I extracted from the corresponding ".tft"-file will do that. So I flashed the extracted ".elf"-file with flashtool. But after restart I get stuck with the boot logo of Android "Marshmallow".
To avoid further questions I'll describe what I've done to root my device after unlocking the bootloader:
ROOTING:
- I downloaded a ".tft"-file containing Android 6 (32.2.A.0.253 build 1298-1220 R2C) and saved it to my hard disk
- I installed this ".tft" on my Sony Xperia Z5 compact using Flashtool (version 0.9.22.3)
- I opened the ".tft" from my hard disk and extracted the "kernel.sin"
- With Flashtool (version 0.9.22.3) I extracted "kernel.elf" from the ".sin" file
- I rooted the ".elf" using rootkernel (version 5 RC4), using the Options Sony RIC disabled, dm verity disabled, installing SuperSU 2.79, TWRP and DRM-Fix and saved the result to "kernel_rooted.elf"
- I flashed that rooted kernel using Flashtool (version 0.9.22.3) without error
- After rebooting the system was running rooted and without stucking in a boot loop
UNROOTING:
- I flashed the unrooted kernel "kernel.elf" using Flashtool (version 0.9.23.1)
- After rebooting the system get stuck in a bootloop showing the Marshmallow boot logo
And this is what I don't understand:
I use an unmodified stock kernel and get stuck in a boot loop. Another strange thing is that when flashing other rooted kernels (using updated tools rootkernel (version 5.23) and Flashtool (version 0.9.32.1)); for example just with TWRP installed) I get stuck in boot loops, too. The only working kernel is that one I described above.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for help and greetings from Germany
Not sure if this will help, but did you wipe the cache and dalvik cache?

Sony Xperia X Bootloop after flashing TWRP 3.1.1 Suzu

Good Day, I tried rooting my phone in order to solve battery drain issues.
Phone specs: Sony Xperia X F5121 32gb, Androind N 7.1
I am quite new to this.
The steps I followed was as below.
1. Unlock Bootloader. (Did not back up DRM Keys)
2. Loaded fastboot drivers.
3. Flashed TWRP 3.1.1 Suzu 2017.07.16.
I tried putting on my phone but it gets stuck at the Sony Logo. I can access TWRP but that is about it.
Please advise if there are any possible solutions.
1.Will installing supersu and a rom fix the problem?
2. Can I perhaps remove TWRP?
3. Is there a way I can revert the phone back to normal.
Kindly assist.
