So my device is recognized when it's turned on but then I go to command prompt and click ADB reboot bootloader (enter). It just says waiting for device. If it's on and I click ADB devices in the command prompt it tells me the serial number and then says device. On the computer management it is recognized as a device it says the name Xperia XA Ultra. I tried to update the Google driver into ADB but that was a failed attempt. I couldn't quite understand what I was supposed to do there or really even follow the instructions because it kept telling me that I was unable to update drivers after I followed the instructions they gave me. I just kept getting an error message. So I'm wondering how do I solve this problem? I really would like to unlock my bootloader and I'm not even sure if it's going into fastboot. I got the notification after turning off the phone hold Volume Plus and plug it in it said of my computer that it was installing the fastboot drivers. I'm assuming it was in fastboot at that time even though I didn't get a blue light it just turned blue for a minute and then it was Green. It said it was installing fastboot drivers so I'm assuming it was in fastboot mode. This is a really tricky process I guess.
What windows do you have?
Also I would recommend you to Google how install fastboot on your Windows type.

Windows 10. Why would I need to install fastboot on Windows? Fastboot is on my Android device. I use ADB. Android debugging bridge is the bridge that goes between your operating system and fastboot the bootloader and Android and all of that in order to be able to communicate with the phone. Why would I need to install Fastboot on my windows? You sound like a customer service representative. I can't even talk to them anymore because they tried to get me to act like Chris Farley.
If you don't install fastboot on your computer you can't unlock bootloader you can't install custom recovery or root the phone!

please note that Windows 10 x64 blocks the installation of unsigned drivers. To be able to install them anyway you have to enter the Windows Test Mode. To do this you just have to run "bcdedit /set testsigning on" in an administrative command line and restart your computer afterwards. You'll see "Test Mode" at the bottom right corner of your desktop. To leave the testmode use "bcdedit /set testsigning off" and restart again.
Done all of this and it doesn't work...
You have to use drivers from Sony for Flashmode and use drivers included in Flashtool (C:\flashtool\drivers) for fastboot and ADB. No problem for me with Windows 10 64bits and don't need to use Test mode.

I boot my Acer Iconia Tab A200 into fastboot mode (robot lying down and RED exclamation mark over it). I plug it into my Windows 7 (64bit) desktop computer with SDK installed, and from the directory with fastboot.exe I type FASTBOOT DEVICES but the device is not being seen, it just goes back to the prompt, like the command executed but didn't do anything. I assume this is because the drivers aren't installed. But I don't know how to install the "adb drivers". How is this done?

This device will not fully boot. It gets stuck at an "encryption unsuccessful" message. I'm trying to flash a rom image from my desktop computer using fastboot, but when my tablet is in fastboot mode, my desktop computer won't recognize it. ie adb devices command doesn't show that there is any device connected, and I think it's because the drivers aren't installed. I think those Acer drivers only work if the tablet can be fully booted.
Installed the Google USB Drivers from the SDK Manager already. Don't know what's wrong.
Alright I figured out how to get fastboot to interface with my Android tablet. The problem was that I wasn't getting the tablet into fastboot mode to recieve commands.
But now it's working. However, I'm trying to unlock the bootloader and it gives me an errors that says:
SetUnlockedMode: Error occured while unlock the device ...
Fastboot: Failed to set unlock mode
I have to unlock the bootloader before I flash an image to the tablet, right ?

I have unlocked the bootloader. I have also installed the adb drivers.
When I connect phone in fastboot mode and write 'fastboot devices' in cmd it doesn't return anything. But when I connect when its on, adb devices returns the device code.
Please help.

Had this issue too.
Try going to Device Manager and check to see if Kedacom USB Device shows up. Under which, Android Bootloader Interface should be present. Install minimalist ADB and fastboot and right click Android Bootloader Interface. Click Update Driver Software, browse computer, and then click the option to list driver files already present on your drive. It should pull up a fastboot driver that's an older version than the one you currently have. Install that and fastboot will work again.

I apologize if this was already asked.
I own a Symphony H50. I am trying to install windows via change my software but it shows device too slow or protected by manufacturer.
So googled it and found that i need to unlock my boot loader.
So I installed adb,fastboot,drivers including bootloader interface driver. And booted into fastboot mode. And typed "fastboot oem get_unlock_data" and the command prompt shows 3 dots (...) And the cursor keeps flashing. And no confirmation message shows up on my phone.
It only shows "FASTBOOT mode".
Another thing i found out while installing adb drivers that it listed my phone manufacturer as HTC.
So is the problem with my phone?
And how do i fix it?
It may be a problem with driver, uninstall the previous one and install Koush universal adb driver from kaushikdatta.com

Though my adb drivers are working fine. My issue is with fastboot.
When i boot into fastboot mode it shows "FASTBOOT mode" on a black screen.
But i would try with the

Please read the whole guide before proceeding.
You may skip the driver and adb installation part if u have already taken the measures I stated before.
Try this,
Download adb and Koush Universal adb driver and install them on ur pc, always install the driver first and don't install the drivers adb setup asks u to install.
Run command prompt as administrator.
Open the folder in c drive where adb is installed, u can use file explorer for this.
Press Shift+right click and select open command window here.
Enable USB debugging on your phone and connect it to the pc by a USB cord.
Enter command "adb devices" without quotation marks.
If it shows some device connected, only then proceed further.
Enter command " adb reboot bootloader"
Enter command " fastboot devices", if it shows some device to be connected, only then proceed further.
Enter command " fastboot oem unlock".
Ur phone may then ask for final confirmation on the phone screen, select yes.
When procedure completes, type "fastboot reboot" and ur phone will reboot.
U can now use Kingoroot or any other tool for rooting.
I have literally tried everything. Sony's website does NOT have driver for the XA2!!! What gives?
I'm trying to unlock the bootloader through flashtool but I keep getting this message "Device connected in flash mode but driver is too old".
I also tried the 15 Seconds ADB Installer thing, no luck.
I also tried following Sony's guide but get stuck at the bold part:
Turn off your device.
Connect a USB-cable to your computer.
On your device, press the Fastboot key (Volume up for most devices, see Useful key combinations) at the same time as you connect the other end of the USB-cable.
Windows users: When asked for a driver, open the Devices and Printers directory, click on the fastboot driver and press Update. Browse and point towards the location of the new android_winbus.inf file.
When your device is connected, open a command window on your computer and go to the platform-tools folder within the Android SDK folder.
Enter the following command:
fastboot devices
Verify that you get an answer back without any errors.
I don't have the option to open a CMD, but only powershell, and powershell doesn't let me run the "fastboot devices" command properly. Keeps trying to open an application.
What else can I do? I found some driver online and tried to install it through "legacy" mode in device manager but I keep getting some kind of error.
Can someone please help me out? I really want to root this thing

Wow! I came here looking for an answer to the same question and nothing but crickets? Sony does not list a driver for this device and I find it odd. Does it use the XA driver? You would think they would be listed together if it did. Nobody has an answer on this?
I found out you use the XZ2 driver. Worked for me.
Once I reboot to bootloader and connect to PC, the command "fastboot devices" does not recognize the device, so when I try to unlock it. it says "waiting for device". I've enabled both OEM unlocking and USB debugging.
The phone shows "fastboot_unlock_verify ok"
"The device is in fastboot mode which is only for debug Android devices. if you want to exit fastboot mode, please long press volume up nad power buttons simultaneously. "
EDIT: Solved it by using the correct platform-tools
I have the same problem. I actually thought that I installed the right sdk platform tools. Can you upload the platform tools that work for you?

Solved.
I downloaded the platform tools 30.0.5 and reinstall it. Then i reinstall the adb bootloader driver right at the moment when the Nord2 is in the fastboot mode.

I have used the 30.0.5 platform tools as well as the 31.0.3. Installed Oneplus USB drivers and also tried the universal r13 android drivers (Reinstalled the bootloader drivers while in bootloader mode). Also tried Snoop05s 1.43 adb installer. All to no avail. Just can't get my device to show up in the bootloader.
In Phone settings bootloader is open and USB debugging is on.
Edit: I made it work. Used regular CMD and not powershell and it showed up.
