[SOLVED] Getting into Recovery on the Mi Pad 2 [Latte] - Xiaomi Mi Pad Questions & Answers

So I've been putting custom ROMs on devices for years and I've never had this problem before.
Problem: I can't get into Recovery (TWRP) after I've flashed it but before MIUI restores stock recovery.
I've tried:
1) Holding Vol Up + Power as I hit "fastboot reboot"<Enter> in fastboot
2) Running the power down while in fastboot, giving it a little charge, and then holding Vol Up + Power
3) Locking the bootloader and trying both 1 & 2 again
Result
- Without locking the bootloader I get the "unlocked bootloader" message, have to hit Vol UP and then it boots into System
- With a locked bootloader it ignores my "Vol Up + Power" altogether and just boots into System
For the fun of it I tried Vol Down + Power (to get into fastboot) and had the same problem. Funny thing is if I flash back to stock, VOL UP + POWER gets me into recovery just fine.
Any ideas?

So I figured it.. reading a post in the MIUI forum (XDA won't let me include the link), I found the following:
Turn off your Mi Pad 2, Press power button to turn on Mipad 2, when MI LOGO appeared, immediately Hold down VOL UP and VOL DOWN until you see the yellow line DNX FASTBOOT MODE appears, release the buttons.

My problem was I was pressing both buttons at the same time as I do with my other devices. Solution is 1) Press power button, 2) wait for MI logo to appear in the center of the screen, 3) Press VOL UP. Voila!

Bootloop!!!!!
Directly from the NB's ICS OP
NOTE: If you get in boot loop during first install, DONT panic.
Remove battery. Hold Vol Down + Home + Power Key. You will enter new recovery mode. Flash the ROM again.
Some users (having Froyo Bootloader) need to press Vol Up Key instead of Home Key to get in Recovery.

should i press the keys after removing and putting the battery again?
Try a few combos. You ultimately want to get back into recovery mode to reflash.
what are the comboos please help me '
Combos to get into recovery:
1. Gingerbread Boot loader: Vol Down + Home + Power Key (That's what neo's OP says) or Volume Down + Power Button (Elsewhere I've heard that combo, so try both. Can't test myself because I have Froyo Boot loader and running MIUI)
2. Froyo Boot loader: Both Volume Keys + Power Button
Ultimately you can enter download mode and use Odin to flash to stock. You can enter download mode using Power+Vol.Up

[Q] [HELP] Boot Loop & Cannot Enter Recovery Nor Download Mode!!

Hi Gurus of this forum, I need your help (again)!
I just did a stupid thing. I flashed MIUI directly over CM10, which now puts me into boot loop (Samsung Vibrant logo ... CM10 logo ... install & fail ... Samsung Vibrant logo ... CM10 logo ... install & fail ...).
I already tried the following tricks with no luck (keeps rebooting):
1. Remove & insert battery, then Vol Up + Vol Dn + Power Btn (recovery mode expected).
2. Vol Up + Vol Dn + plug USB cable (download mode expected).
3. adb reboot recovery (of course it doesn't work - cannot even connect to the phone while it keeps rebooting).
I am not new to flashing & have done Odin before. But right now I have no idea what to do next? Any suggestion?
BTW I would prefer not to format/re-partition my internal SD 'coz I have tons of photos on it!
Thanks for your valuable help in advance!
Try just vol- and power for recovery.

Wow it worked like magic! Why haven't I heard about this combo before?
This combo is used with Gingerbread Bootloaders
For Recovery - Lower Volume Key + Power Button
For Download - Upper Volume Key + Power Button

Entering recovery mode on LGM470 (Stylo 3 Plus)

Hi. I have an LG Stylo 3 Plus (32GB) on Telus, with a locked bootloader and no root.
I am trying to enter recovery mode to clear all the caches, however doing
Code:
adb reboot recovery
just takes me to the screen that says "no command" and has the android on its back.
What key combination do I use to enter recovery? I have tried volume down when plugging in a USB cable, however that just brought up fastboot for unlocking the bootloader.
after you flash a new recovery, take the battery off, an right away press the volume down + power button until you see logo. When you see the logo, just take your finger off the power button and press it again

Need help with password locked unknown tablet

Hi,
My grandfather locked his chinese tablet without knowing how.
Each time we start the tablet we arrive on an input field asking for a password we don't have.
I can't found how to reboot in recovery, however I can boot to fastboot mode with power and vol up keys.
The tablet is branded as a Kliver Klipad KL3889, but there is no other information on the vendor website (klipad DOT fr)
The user manual only says A64 Quad Core CPU and Mali 400MP GPU.
The tablet is running Android 8.1 Go edition, and shows up as "Onda (unverified)" with 1f3a:1006 id according to lsusb command.
When booted in fastboot mode, it shows up with a different id on lsusb :
1f3a:1010 Onda (unverified)
I can not reach the tablet using adb, and when I tried a fastboot
reset using the following commands :
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1f3a erase cache
fastboot -i 0x1f3a erase data
fastboot -i 0x1f3a erase userdata
all I get is the following error :
FAILED (remote: :secure mode, fastboot limited used)

What are my options ? Is there a way to fully reset this device ?
perhaps web search: JTAG + tablet details. Some disassembly required. SuperUser has previously recommended Ort JTag.

As I previously said, I can't access recovery mode. I've tried all keys combinations I could find, and the only one working (Vol Up + power) boot into fastboot mode, not recovery mode.

Hi , try this :
1) Turn off the tablet
2) Hold "Volume +" and turn on the tablet
3) Once you see KLIPAD logo on your display, release the "ON" button (or power) while holding "Volume +"
4) You must arrive on the Android logo, and you will probably get the message "No command"
5) You can let go of "Volume +"
And that's where it becomes interesting:
6) Press "ON" (or power), and while holding the button, a pulse on "Volume +"
7) You finally arrive at the menu of restoration
You navigate through the menu by means of the volume keys, and the "ON" (or power) button acts as validation.
Choose "data / factory reset", confirm
Then "reboot system now" and you're done, if that doesn't work try the same process just with VOl- , also what you can try is :
1. Turn off your device
2. Press and hold Vol - and power button , and once you see Logo , fast release both buttons and see if you are into Recovery mode.

Thanks.
It works like you said until step 4 where I get the android logo, but no "No command" message.
Then when I hold ON button while pressing VOL+ it doesn't do anything.

Recovery Mode when unlocked

I can not boot into recovery mode on my unlocked S7 since I need top press power to get past the warning, but that only works if no other button is pressed, and I then boot to the system not recovery. I've watched multiple youtube videos and read up nothing seems to work as you need to hold Power and Vol+, yet you can not do this with an unlocked boot loader.
ERIC
You need to hold it through that warning.. so soon as screen goes black press and hold power and vol+ until you see recovery screen.. or u can use adb reboot recovery or if rooted theres apps that can reboot to recovery or even from magisk manager
