Pixel Light theme for LG V30? - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Just picked up my LG V30 and I'm not a huge fan of the stock LG theme or the alternative themes LG has made available. There was previously a "Pixel UX Theme" for the LG G6 that was fantastic.
Link to that theme:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lge.theme.pixel.ui&hl=en
Has anyone found a theme like this that works for the V30? I tried installing it on the V30 and it doesn't work.
Markbencze released his new Pixel light theme for the V30. It's exactly what I was looking for.

Mark, the creator of this theme is still waiting to receive his V30 and then he intends to work on themes for it, there's a thread on XDA
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/themes/mark-bencze-theme-designs-one-stop-v20-t3509777

The V30 won't be released until the 20th of Oct in Canada.
Mark will be creating themes for the V30, but will have to wait until then.
The only theme that did "sort of" transfer over from my V20 was his "Dark Nougat" theme.
You can try NNG's themes...some of his are imported over to the V30.
I currently have his Pixel Dark theme installed.

Have you looked at LG SmartWorld for themes?

I did see his themes. If he had a "Pixel Light" theme, I'd be all over it. I tend to prefer light themes over dark.
I've looked at the themes in LG SmartWorld and some are alright but I haven't found one I love. The best one I've found so far is "Blue" under the "Top Free" category within the LG SmartWorld app. It will hold me over until Mark gets an Pixel Light theme put together.

I myself prefer the "darker" themes, especially with the POLED screen.
I like both "Neon Box" & "Universe" for being dark themes...also C_BMW M2 Coupe is nice, but I replace all the wallpapers with my own.
I hope that you will find that "perfect" theme

I decided to give that Pixel Dark theme a go and must say that I'm really liking it so far. This may have just changed my mind about what kind of theme I truly prefer.
Thanks for the recommendation.

I did. I'm fact, I'm using it right now. It's a great theme but I still prefer light themes, personally. So I'll continue using this dark theme until a good light Pixel theme gets released.

So I got my V30 today guys so stuff will start happening soon. Also as a reminder guys even though it was my theme linked in here, we aren't allowed to link paid themes on xda so we should probably try not to do that!
I'll have a nice thread for us to talk about stuff soon too! If anyone of you folks don't know me or aren't familiar with my V20 or G6 threads you should take a quick peak and see how we do things in there. Both are fantastic threads with great people. I'm very excited to make a new thread for this device

Been away from the LG community since the G4 died on me, but happy to be back and excited for your work! The G6/V20 work you've done looks excellent, and I'm really pumped (not to take away from this thread's main theme...heh...) to see how you use the POLED to bring out the rich blacks in some of your new work!

All the LG g6 themes I have work on my v30

markbencze pulled through with a solid light theme. Loving it so far.

DarkTube - Black background on YouTube

Well, this is a module I made for a black YouTube background. It's not a fully black app, but it's something. Maybe I will see about doing more blackening later down the line.
Screenshots
Download.
Needs some work, not as dark as I expected, not like team blackout or experimental eclipse designs, still much white, but I guess it is what it is, for those who prefer it like this then that's good, me personally I prefer a full blackout design, thanks thou, if u do make it FULL black it'll just mean the latest YouTube version in black will be from this module otherwise we'll have to wait donkeys for the team's I've mentioned to black out the tube...

I thought I made it pretty clear on both here and the repo that this only affects the background. The original plan was to make a full blackout, but I fear I sort of underestimated the time to do that, especially having no prior knowledge of the YouTube apps internals. I kind of gave up on that idea due to the fact that there will likely be a YouTube update for Material Design rather soon, meaning that the time spent on doing a full blackout may have been a little wasted. I find this still makes the latest version a little easier on the eyes, so I am content for now.
Dark Twitter will be a bliss.... bcoz the light background pains the eye.... I use this module and loving the dark background of youtube... thanks

I know you specifically said that this is only for the background, but the current YouTube text color makes it extremely hard to read on your black background. Is there any way that I could change YouTube 's text color by messing with the apk file? Thanks in advance for any info!

The idea was pretty good but I think the app should be removed from Xposed since the developer abandoned the project !

@rebar71 That's pretty goodnews, but I also think they will deliver it since even their low end devices are getting the G3 UI and the G2 didnt reached the 18 months yet so there should be an update remaining. It would be even better if LG would give an unlock tool then the G3 UI update will get released. If the UI gets simplified so must be the bootloader just simplify it and allow bootloader unlock :good:
Is there really a need to open a new thread everytime someone finds this on the web?

I like CM a lot as well. I ran it and its variants on my last phone. But on this device, I haven't use it yet because I've decided that I like having everything work. No disrespect meant to the CM team and other AOSP devs. You can only do so much without OEM drivers. And they do a fantastic job with what they have.
If the Nexus 5 had been more competitive in a couple of key areas, I would've bought that phone instead.
Sent from my LG-D801
the only thing i dont like about the AOSP is the camera. I've tried different camera apps and none of them was comparable with the stock one(xcam). The AOSP based roms would otherwise be perfect for me.
I use the play store Google camera, now HDR works it's brilliant, I don't really miss the lg camera as it's a pain to have to keep switching modes for different situations, I much prefer the lg g3 camera though as it's flat, quick and one setting does all.

Yes, we do have a G3 ported ROM. But like I said, I've found that I like having everything working. And there is one pretty cool feature exclusive to T-Mobile devices that does not exist on any custom ROM... WiFi calling.

Really? It has to do with getting the G3 UI and having everything working as it should. I thought I made that clear already. Considering that pretty much all custom ROMs are built around the D802 variant, the rest of us invariably have stuff that doesn't work with those ROMs. Some of those things are important to some of us.
getting a new ui doesn't get you new apps and stability... it's just the looks of the user interface and i doubt that has anything to do with system apps update... (although, it would be nice to see an update to this as well)
it's just like you change the theme in the rom that supports themes...
what i see here is that LG will update the UI only - if we get both UI update and new android version, that would be nice though

How?
The thing is, while we might get the UI look, I'm sure as hell we won't get split sceen, hide front touch buttons and other cool stuff. That's LG, folks - and it's somewhat understandable since they want your money.
that's why ported g3 roms exist... with a bit of help from xposed here and there

Xposed modules take care of the tweaks I need. Hell, I would think you guys would be stoked about this. With the OEM delivering it, you wouldn't need to use a ported hack - and everything would work. We wouldn't need a semi-stable port. Maybe they throw in the split screen, maybe they don't. Who cares. It's just software. You can add it later just like we do now.
I seriously don't understand the hate on display here. If I was an LG rep and came across this thread, I might be inclined to say, "screw those guys. I guess they don't want it." But the fact that a lot of you are running the G3 port says you do want it.
Sent from my LG-D801
no hate, but knowing LG so far, we'll likely get just an UI update while Android L will remain for their newer devices only...
sure, developers will do their best to port L to G2... but official LG Android L - i doubt...
i hope i'm wrong and LG surprises us all for the 1st time

[WIP] Z3 Compact Bootanimation

Hey guys,
I've been messing around with AE over the weekend and have started work on a boot animation for our Z3Cs.
Have a look at the preview here:

If you guys are interested, let me know and I'll finish it off.
Cheers!
Mod Edit:
Thread closed as no download link is available so far.
OP can PM me if he's wants to continue this project.
I'm very interested! It looks nice and professional! I don't know what other plans you have (in order to finish it)
But if you're lacking some proper ideas why not just lengthen what you already have, making the animation a bit slower by adding more layers.

What ^ said ... It looks very good IMO. Might be good to have the Xperia bit pulse maybe, not really sure whether it would work in the order it is now but just my 2 cents ... I used to have one a few years ago that I got from here that was the Walkman logo and it pulsed from dim to bright, looked very good, at least I thought so lol
Delay the explosion and lengthen entire concept/slow down frame rate. Looks awesome

[REQ] Dark/Black Material Design Lollipop Theme

Does anyone know of a dark or black material design style theme for Lollipop? Could some kind soul port one from another device like the Nexus 5?
I messaged the guy who designed the one for the nexus 5 about this, he asked for the frameworks, I gave him them and he never got back to me. Might be worth asking him again, show it's more than just me who wants this
Xposed now has a Lollipop themer, but it's pretty basic. It doesn't make all of the menus and screens dark / black, but it does a good job for now. I'm sure with more updates it will get better.
If we can find someone that knows what they are doing this guy has a great thread that shows how to make a theme.

[OOS] [P Beta] - Accent color HEX picker

Ey OnePlus 6 users
As you may know, in OnePlus 6 Android P developer preview 2, you can choose your accent color in RGB using their HEX code
Since I discovered this feature, I'm literally playing with it, changing accents every day, or few days !
I'm currently using #b71c1c which is a Material red tint.
I'm using two websites to pick cool hex colors :
https://www.materialpalette.com/colors which is a Material colors picker
I'm using this website as well, using pastel colors from their palettes :
http://www.color-hex.com/color-palette/5361
Feel free to share screenshots with your accent color
My attached screenshot is with accent #b71c1c
Cheers

Actually you are both wrong. You're posting in a themes and apps section. Is there anyone on this thread offering a theme to download or an app to download? Sharing your experience with a feature built into software doesn't count. Maybe it would make sense if it was in the Guides News and Discussion section.
this feature must be in Android OS from day one !!
Google keeps way too many employees with broken hands as well as way too high number of designers with complete absence of any style sense !!
Huge shame on Google !!
and huge shame on Oneplus for not fixing it on their phone !!

It definitely relies in theming. Themes and apps section doesn't require a download link to an app. At least for me, Themes and apps are for customization, and I think it makes perfectly sense for this thread to be here, but of course it's fine if mods think it should reside elsewhere. But well, the thread makes sense and that all that matters.

For one I'm entitled to an opinion and it's annoying and misleading seeing threads that is just pure reading material that most OnePlus 6 users are already aware of. I guess I'll keep quiet and let the mods take of it in future.

Opinions are fine. No issues with them. But the op didn't just talk about something random, he did bring something useful for people if they want to be able to find hex codes for colors in the beta builds. So it's not pure reading and misleading. And not to mention, we will all be getting that color thing in the future Android P release so all will benefit knowing where to find color hex codes.

thanks OP. I've been using this site, I like sticking with the google's material design color template
https://www.materialui.co/colors
I personally like the teal and cyan accents, just choosing whichever shade I want for the day :8

I used that website as well for a few days. Pastel and material design tints do a very good job on OxygenOS

yep! so glad they added the accent color HEX picker. The stock options I didn't really like (stuck with blue) but was glad to apply the material design teal to my theme!
I for one think this thread is very useful as I was trying to find a good place to find hex codes. And this is exactly where I would expect to find this kind of thread... In the themes section. Thanks OP! ?
