I spent a lot of time on making this rom, so I really hope You guys will like it!
UPDATE: Played with it for a while and WOW. I have to say that this is the smoothest rom I have ever used. On any device ever. 3.2GB free ram vs 1.9GB on stock.

Great work! Just wondering, is there any way to make the pixel 2 live wallpapers work on other roms? i installed the apk and google wallpapers but it crashes every time i open google wallpapers and tap on change wallpaper.

No idea. Wallpapers crash here on all roms that I had. Maybe they don't support Note8 yet. But live wallpapers work fine!

The notification doesn't work. It's showing my notification but it's displaying anything in the shades

And btw is the note 8 still so new that development is so slow?
Excuse me, i just switched back to android after 4 years.

Not here. I've been using Magisk beta with Magisk Manager and no problems. But recently I switched to SuperSU and it's working fine too.

Note8 is too expensive, most Devs got S8 and S8+ instead. That's why rom development is so slow here.
And SD Note8 can be supported but I'd need a device to test roms and we also need TWRP for it and a kernel without encryption, knox etc. And so far SD just got root. Hopefully they will make TWRP for it too.

I'm having another issue is that my gear 3 saying samsung pay isn't supported I need it
nvm: it's working

I lost root all the time until I installed magisk 14.3 and not lost it since I installed that version

Just tried DeX and it only works for screen mirroring. DeX desktop doesn't load because of missing Samsung apps. No idea about GearVR though. It could work since it doesn't rely as heavily on stock Samsung apps that much. But don't forget about Daydream VR! Daydream should work just fine . You can separately install Samsung apps to get DeX to work.
And to everyone, I'm working on getting it to work on S8/+ and soon I will try to add Pixel Animations to make this rom even smoother.

Adding pixel animations across system would be cool

This looks great will definitely try and feedback. Thanks for your efforts.

Yes. That would improve Pixel experience .
So next version will have:
S8/S8+ support.
Pixel Animations (already tried them and they work but need more work).
More AROMA choices.
And for now that's it. But in the meantime I will probably find more features which I can add. Probably also Magisk modules etc . In the second post I will add changelog once second version is out.

I'm still in jail, but want to try this once free. Please leave a no-root option for install. Thanks for all of your work on this.

Can you add flashable Dex and gear VR?

[REQUEST][APPS] App Lock from Grace UX

CALLING ALL THE BEST DEVELOPERS OUT THERE
I've been waiting for a long day hoping someone would port App Lock functionality like on the new Grace UX to our beloved Note 4.
This App Lock can lock apps with PIN,pattern,or fingerprint.
It lays under Setting > privacy & safety
I remember a video on YouTube that it also there on the new Smart Manager
For the fingerprint, i know that there's an xposed module called Fingerlock and it fully working. But it killed the locked apps every time turn it OFF to ON. And you're not always able to use your fingerprint, not to mention the bad finger scanner accuracy.
But that's not the point here. We need a system level protection for locking our apps from curious friends when we lend our phone.
All applock apps out there were just draining our precious battery by watching on polling (i didn't really understand what i'm talking about, lol) to keep them locked.
With this Official Applock from Samsung i think it would make a big difference as it is designed to be used on Grace UX ( and some newest J series and C series).
Please port it to be work on stock launcher MM 6.0.1,and post them here. I know maybe it need to port Grace UX, new Smart Manager, ported Setting app but i don't wanna messed with all of that. I just want to keep it clean and as simple as possible to port App Lock to make it universally support all kind of Note 4 MM stock ROM wether it's modified or not. I'll update OP as soon as it's available.

I tried it on my note 4. But there is no change. I think it's only work in s6 or above. But you can try.
And I think screen shots that you posted here is not from note 4. It must be from s6 note 5.
Yeah, that's the same file i have downloaded.
Never try coz i know it may need S6/S7 systemUI or just the Settings app from S6/S7. I hope there would be a development on it. That's why i made this thread to give a chance for the App Lock to be fully ported.
BTW,have you tried the Note7 S-pen Port ??
I wonder if that brings all the features or just the Gif. My interest is on Translate and Glance.
For the Gif,you could update Smart Select with the one from apkmirror. You'll get the new gif feature. . Enjoy it [emoji4]

I didn't try s-pen port because there is no difference between ported one and our stock. Only smart select is the difference I think. Of you interested in translate and glance flash note 7 ports like aurora or norma. In aurora translate and glance work perfectly.
Yup,they're the same. No one fully port it.
I don't want a custom ROM with all the bugs they have. I was happy with stock MM as it works fast and never disappoint me.

[Oreo] Universal PixelMod

This is a Universal Pixel Mod that will give you Pixel's rounded icon as a default system wide icon, and Blue accent color as well. This mod works as an overlay that will not modifying your framework-res.apk or any other apk, so you can use your ROM's unmodified stuffs.
Features:
Default pixel rounded icon (use pixel launcher, lawnchair, or any other launcher that support this)
Blue accent color on system wide UI
Blue Settings icon
Works along side with substratum
V2 changelogs:
Cleanup unnecessary codes from the original Pixel's overlay. All side effects of this mod should be fixed (HW button vibration, VOLTE, etc)
V3 changelogs:
Re-made from Pixel 2 XL 8.1 original files
Use this for 8.1 ROMs
Instructions:
Flash it from TWRP and clear data of your launcher (it is recommended to clean flash the ROM on the first install)
Re-flash after every ROM update (just dirty flash)
Tested on Kenzo with xyyx's Nitrogen OS 8.0.0
Should work on any other 8.0.0 ROMs as well
Credits:
@xyyx for a very good and stable ROM i'm using now with this mod

Of what?? lol??
I have discovered this before you sending this post. I grabbed the files in the download from a Pixel factory image, then copied them onto my Nexus 9's system partition, and it worked very well. I got round icons, blue accent color, and even the "Turn on Wi-Fi automatically" option in Wi-Fi preferences in Settings, which is an option that requires an ADB command to activate if you don't have the files.
So, this does work on all AOSP-based Android 8.0 ROMs. However, whether or not this works on arm devices (instead of arm64) is still an uncertainty.

Nos 8.0.0, 2nd October build if I right, just flashed it through TWRP and vibration set on minimum, hardware buttons almost without vibro, and idk how to set vibro on default. Flashed 7 Oct build and want to flash it again.
How do i get it working perfect?
Looks not good as pixel Rom from 7.1.2
Using Nitrogen 20171007 and a gapps with this mod.
And installed the O Launcher from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/backport-pixel-launcher-omr1-4113793-t3646787

Explain "Perfect"
What do you want? A full pixel experience? You will need to install all google APKs like Google Dialer, google contacts, google message, google chrome, google clock, google calculator, google Photos, Gmail, Google calendar, Google Camera, etc. All of them except Google Dialer are available in playstore. For Dialer you can download the latest one from APKMirror.
Remember to change the default apps in settings after installing them all, especially the phone dialer app, otherwise you will get problems with incoming calls.
After that you can disable all AOSP apps you no longer need like AOSP dialer, AOSP message, AOSP calculator, calendar, etc.
You also need to change UI sounds, bootanimation, and splash screen, to have a better pixel experience

Really? Well, this overlay was taken originally from pixel. There are many codes inside there that I didn't touch. I only changed few things that related to my personal use. Since I don't use VOLTE and HW button vibration, i didn't notice that they are broken.

This one also enables Device theme in Display settings and also some "Gesture" settings, like Double tap to check notifications, but they don't work as of now (it would've been awesome, but that's what it is).
And in the Storage settings, the shared internal storage is still in the teal color.

You're using it with substratum, right?
Actually, device theme option in display settings will automatically enabled if you have at least 2 overlay installed. That option will let you choose between them.
Even if you're not using this mod, if you have installed at least 2 overlay from susbtratum, that device themes option will be enabled as well

If You have any bugs then just report them to my Telegram group chat. I only own Note8 and the only tester I have for S8 is my friend. So if we didn't fix some bug then just tell me and send logcat, screens etc if possible. And I'll be mostly active on Note8 thread and my Telegram chat so I would prefer if You would post bugs to the Telegram chat for the quickest help

Great would love to try it out
Nice ! Will try ASAP.
Thank you.
I can try it in a separate partition in multiboot ... What do you want me to check for ???
BTW S8+
What a brilliant idea! I'd love to see it even closer to stock! Great work, OP!
OK i found some bugs in making and receiving calls .... If i make a call i get no UI screen .... Also when receiving calls i get no notification on screen only sound.
first bugs i found are on the setup screen were it won't let me click continue after adding fingerprint and safetynet isn't on the table either fortunately there's titanium backup for snapchat, i'll check for more and update. if you need any logs let me know

Oh. When the navbar becomes all dark etc? That's a bug caused by the custom Status Bar. But soon I will theme SystemUI to look like Oreo without the need for the separate app . And I will try to find a snapchat solution in a second cause it worked for me before. So I'll let You know on Telegram .
Nice rom, it's good to see a fresh option for this wonderful device. Waiting for your system theming. It will be great.
Only important bug I've noticed so far is the Call UI problem, when you make a call, the call is made, but there isn't call UI, or any way to cancel teh call or anything.
Thanks for this nice Rom.

This one is closer to AOSP and gives You Oreo experience instead of Nougat experience + it's a Pixel 2XL Hybrid.

I've been using it for almost a week and so far no bugs. If You need Samsung stuff just edit build prop and change Pixel 2 XL to SM-G950F and the model name to dreamlte .

Google Pixel_2_Experience Mod [FLASHABLE][ZIP]

THIS IS A PIXEL² MOD FOR ASUS ZENFONE 2 LASER/SELFIE RUNNING WITH LINEAGE OS 15(OREO)I am VERY excited to introduce to you some new Pixel 2 features, thanks to the developers releasing Pixel 2 apks on XDA!! This begins the era of Pixel 2 mods. While much work remains to be done on Android Oreo, this is an exciting development. Check out those screenshots
Here's my PIXEL² MOD built for Android Oreo! The current status of this mod is still a work in progress. Actually i am working to bring a whole PIXEL² ROM with all PIXEL² FEATURES. But as you know that LineageOs 15 for Our device is still a work in progress so there have some bugs. But as soon as a stable build (BugLess) of LineageOs 15 release for our device, I will Give you a Complete PIXEL² ROM. For now use this..:silly:
Important piece here. Anything flashed is flashed at your own risk. I have not and will not release anything that I have not flashed myself. However, I only release that after testing the mod on my Asus Zenfone 2 Laser running with LineageOs 15. Regardless, you should always backup before flashing anything. Better safe than sorry. To everyone who has asked questions, tested, and contributed I give you a huge thanks.
If you intend on using Substratum, don't flash Pixel Blue Accent Color Mod. I'm working on a simple work around for this.
So as always, make a backup before flashing. I do not have an uninstaller zip made. The best way to uninstall is to backup your system.img in TWRP and restore if to remove the mod.

Common Questions/Issues & Answers/Solutions
Pixel Nav Bar Animation?
-Not yet, still roadblocked on that one.
Pixel Launcher is crashing repeatedly after flashing this mod!
-Go into settings from your quick settings and grant Pixel Launcher notification access.
Not all icons are round?
The problem seems to be in the versions of those apps.
Substratum?
-If you flash the Pixel Blue Accent Color Mod For LineageOS 15 then it may break Substratum. If you want to use Substratum don't flash Pixel Blue Accent Color Mod mod. If you have, then just reflash your system.img to return to stock. But you can still use the Google Pixel 2 Mod.
Notification Dots aren't working?!
-Make sure to enable the Notification Dots too. Go into the Pixel Launcher Settings (tap and hold like if you were adding a widget or changing a wallpaper). In the settings there is a category "Notification Dots". Even if it says "On" tap on it. Make sure "Allow Notification Dots" is on.
Weather is not showing!
-Make sure to grant Pixel Launcher location access. Then give it some time. If you don't want to wait, swiping into Google Now and clicking on the weather seems to force refresh the weather widget on your homescreen.

It's really crazy to see almost no Development at all anymore... After doing that so many Years and after trying to create something new with My Patches, since back in the Nexus 6 Days am i hoping this one here will lasts for a long Time! We will see how the future of Android will look like...
One Thing You could Me support with: Google Camera! Thats what a Pixel like Projects needs to be complete...
Fixed the main Issue in the Alpha Stage. Beta will come soon
I like the idea of this. Been waiting for custom Roms to come to the Xperia 5. Just the stock Xperia 5 right now grosses me out. I ended up going back to my xz premium on los volte 9 because of this. Also the 21:9 ratio is hard for me to switch over.
I can't wait!
Finally a custom ROM, I've had one on every Sony smartphone I've had since the original XZ and my Xperia 5 feels a bit boring on the stock ROM. The new Sony home screen is kinda QBASIC and it's a slightly dumbed down version of the one from the XZ2 and they removed the Sony email app. Lololol... As soon as this is released I'll give it a try. :cyclops: :good: :good:
My GSI Experiments are stunning today. I can get VoLTE, and many other things to work. Also optimized the Cameras and Audio overall quality... Think my New Goals is the optimization of our Vendor Partitions... The results are amwesome! Publishing something New this weekend!
BETA1 uploading...
https://youtu.be/sFTvncOpHDk
BETA2 coming. Fixed all Bugs on Stock. Optimized a lot under the hood. Added Audio functions such as Monitor Rotation (Channels change on base of the actual rotation state), Google Pixel UI with Black Dark Mode, Audio Recorder, Pixel Launcher, Theme Manager and so on. Hope You will enjoy it! A Video Preview is also incoming!
(PS: Please avoid using the Gesture Navigation since it's broken with the Pixel Launcher. QuickSwitch for Magisk may fix that, or you can try to install a third Launcher from the Play Store. Sorry for that!)
Mindbreaking. I managed to get Google Play System Updates like on the Pixel or Devices with updateable Apex. Device booted Up fine after applying it... What a Finding...

It would have been a pleasure to be your tester but currently im pre occupied with my field of study which is cybersecurity. Please keep up the good work and it will be fruitful in the end.
Sir, you just got yourself another tester. I couldn't figure out how the hell root this device, but after one hour with your guide and careful reading, I've managed to install Magisk on this Xperia! Now I'm just waiting for your ROM to download. I'll post an update after installing.
EDIT:
I've got a lot of FC's in the beginning, but it seems like it had calmed down after about 10-15 minutes. The ROM looks really like a mix of a Pixel and Xperia. As far as I can see:
- Phone does not want to connect to PC, says it's connected but does not charge/connect storage
- Theme engine does work, but pixel theme app keeps crashing when choosing wallpaper.
- Mic working, but badly (only third party apps and only somewhat)
I'll see if there's more. Waiting for beta 3!

Thanks for the Feedback! Can't wait for more. It will stay everything Beta for the next Versions, but i'll try to fix actual Bugs first before releasing BETA3.
About USB. Try to enable/disable adb under Developer Options in the System Settings... I'll Take a look on this too!

Day 2:
There is absolutely no battery drain, which is amazing. I left it at 98% for the night, and it was still at 98% in the morning.
There is a big issue though, which is setting this automatic Google wallpaper, which changes everyday or so. IF you put it as your homescreen and locksreen wallpaper, it actually softbricks your phone and it won't boot up after rebooting (which will be needed, since the screen will start flashing like mad). Sooo, back to square one, flashing the official software again! I'll do it after work today.

Ouh thats crazy. Thanks for letting me know! You can try to hold the Volume Button + or - with Power Button to Go in save Mode/b Slot to manage Magisk or do a factory reset. You can also do this by using "fastboot -w" which will also do a factory reset
Sorry for that! Hope i can fix it quickly...
It's okay, it's not my daily driver anyway. Fastboot -w doesn't seem to help, all I get is mke2fs failed with status 1. I guess I should keep the wallpaper stock for now hahah
It'll be up and working soon, and I'll do some testing again.
EDIT:
So I've redone everything and the device is up and running. I wanted to make a video of this issue with the wallpaper, but I can't reproduce this error.
To be honest, I'd try to repair the issue with Pixel 19 wallpapers app crashing, since it's probably it FC:ing causing the issue. Otherwise, it's got the same issues as mentioned.
BETA3 released and i am sorry for the missing BETA2! A XZ3 User told me that the uploaded Version on My Website still was BETA1. I fixed that with BETA3 and BETA4 will be coming soon! Enjoy
