[APP] Substratum patched for not requiring TouchWiz addon - Galaxy Note5 Android Development

So, everybody who wants to use substratum on touchwiz is required to buy an addon from the google play store for two dollars. I don't like that. The themers don't benefit from it, nor was samsung support a huge problem to get going. I patched out the requirement for it, and am uploading the apk for it.
This does NOT:
-Remove any piracy checks
-Support piracy
This DOES:
-Allow you to theme your Samsung without the two dollar addon
Now before people get all up in arms about this, I'm legally able to do this. The code is released under GNU GPLv3, and I can make modifications all I'd like as long as I share the source. (Here, for reference)
You'll need to uninstall the default substratum app and replace it with mine, other than that, it's the same app. As Substratum updates, I will too.

APK: Mod edit: link removed

Didn't mean to put in Development, meant to put in apps/themes. If a mod reads this, please move it.

Interesting, so I can change theme in TouchWiz. Didn't know that

NEW RELEASE: Mod edit: link removed
Since Sub's dev said this, I had to patch again to make it look like it has TouchWiz addon installed

Now it looks like this:

Will it work on khongloi final s8 port??
Edit: Working on Khongloi final. Using Swift for Samsung.

Same

It's one thing to take GPL-licensed work and remove the requirement for the add-on app. It's entirely another to make it look like it's an "official" release so as to try and get support from the substratum team, when they specifically said they won't support modified builds.
Thread closed.
Please do not contact the OP regarding the patched version, as he will not be distributing it.

Incompatibility with Appcelerator Titanium

I have had to revert back to a earlier mod due to issues with various apps created with Appcelerator Titanium not working.
Can some of you guys with various mods download "tradui" from the Android market and see if that works for you? Please report back with your findings. The symptom is blank tabs except for "Translating English to Creole", and the app seems to do nothing. A working app can perform a translate function. There are many more apps than this that use the Titanium framework, I just chose one at random.
It works on stock, but not Cyanogen 5.0.2 or 5.0.3.1 for me.
Likely to do with the kernel that the app was compiled for being different than the ones included in CM/Modaco/KingKlick/etc.
I doubt there's a solution for this until the Android SDK gets an update for those kernels and the developer recompiles and redeploys.
I could also be talking out of my ass, as I haven't used Appcelerator to build any apps yet, but I have installed it and poked around a little.

I doubt that it is the kernel. I can run it successfully on both cyanogen's 2.6.29.6 and the stock kernel, also these apps should not make kernel-level calls. More likely it is webkit since these apps make heavy use of web-rendering and javascript on the device, with a javascript to java bridge for the OS/UI interactions. According to Cyanogen's changelog he made the switch to webkit V8 on beta4, which is the latest mod that seems to work with Titanium so perhaps another change snuck in there after B4?
BTW, I have debugged both a working setup and a non-working. Pastebins are in the Cyanogen Mod thread. I wish I could provide URLs but the board won't let me.
Ah yeah, that makes much more sense. I forgot how Appcelerator did its thing.
A little help here please? If you have modded your phone please. It only takes a second.
1. Install "tradui" from android market
2. post to this thread if the app does or doesn't look like this:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
If it doesn't look like this than it means that your mod is incompatible with ALL apps created with the current version of appcelerator titanium (the latest is 0.8.1, 0.9 is still in closed beta).
Thanks!
Apparently appcelerator knows about this but have not had time to dig into it. I have posted an issue to the appcelerator forum as well.
A friend had mentioned it to me awhile back. It seemed to be related to accessing resources via file:///android_asset. I haven't been able to spend time looking at rooted devices.

[Mod][Xposed][Share] XBatteries (Screenshots uploaded)

Hey guys, while browsing through the Note II Themes and Apps section, I found this:
[Xposed Mod] XBatteries - Switch to a different Theme in a Snap
Now, this can change your battery icon very easily (as easy as just selecting the new icon and restarting SystemUI). No apktool needed, no reboot required. No device or firmware limitation
Requirements:
* Xposed Installer
* Root (obviously)
For those of you who don't know about Xposed, it is here
[FRAMEWORK ONLY!] Xposed - ROM modding without modifying APKs
I have personally tested it and can confirm it working well.
Enjoy And, this is not my work, I just posted the link to the original work here, so please press thanks for the guy who posted it originally.

[TWRP Themes] TWRP themes Updated [TWRP v2.7+ v2.8.0.1]

I spent some time puting together a couple of themed TWRP Recovery zips. I am TWRP's biggest fan but I've always hated the stock look.
On pretty much every device I've owned I've put together some TWRP themes and made them available for those that like them.
To start with I've kept these simple..... NeatRom blue and red based but I'm happy to redo with other Rom logo/graphics.
Updated, tested and working on TWRP v2.7+ versions.
***Update**** Added NeatRed v2........ compiled for TWRP V2.8.0.1
Code taken directly from TWRP to avoid bugs.)
I have used another themers zip as inspiration and a working base for these themes so credit goes to Sneakyghost at the HTC One M8 threads. Original thread here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2734308
(thanks again for permissions to use)
Usual try at your own risk stuff applies but I've been running these for a few days with no issues. I hasten to ad......I am not a dev but a keen user.
Let me know what you think........ happy to do requests as and when real life allows it.

}
To install, rename zip file ui.zip.
In your internal storage you should have a file named TWRP.
If its not already inside, create another folder called theme (note this has to be lower case)
Copy/paste the ui.zip file into the TWRP/theme/ folder.
No need to worry about permissions..... Reboot to recovery and enjoy.
Reserved for updates
.........and another......
nice work mate. thank you
This is a great improvement over stock theme, nice work and thanks.

Awesome work @Prof Peach, love the blue
this is sooooooooo Cooool
:victory: thanks
Updated NeatRed-ui v2. (download attachment from OP)
TWRP v2.8.0.1 version. (This will not work with older TWRP versions)
Base code from TWRP to avoid bugs.
Slight change to clock and version layout but otherwise the same look as previous version..
Added MTP control Button
Added Cursor control.
For a full list of updates see DeesTroys thread.

[REQ] Call To All Official Recognized R750T Beta Testers!!!

I'm uploading a rootfs.img based on OA7 update. It isn't rooted for now.
1st extract the tar from the zip package;
2nd flash the tar with odin and check if all is ok;
3rd try to install one of this apps and tell me if them can be installed https://www.mediafire.com/folder/3f...wcbk8v,d6g36huc619gj9b,hqxpch1eph66tcf/shared

Successful odin flash, nothing went wrong, watch was rooted and now it's not rooted again, but I couldn't try sideloading any apk's @Skin1980 requested cause Opera Mini wouldn't load the page correctly.
_
Whoops at my silly newb ass sideloading his preselected apk's from phone to gear fails rn...
Open Invitation to Any Other Gear S T-Mobile Users
See if you can get Skin1980's app's to load, this is based off of OA7 Firmware install as you'd normally install any odin firmware.
Maybe someone in here can help me he needs a app that was installed with Gear Manager and Galaxy App Store, I can't find where those app's are located since they don't show up in the app drawer or app manager on my phone, he needs a pulled one so I can he can compare the installs and see why sideloading apk's are failig rn with unknown sources allowed in Gear Manager, would Gear Tasks work or if anyone has a pulled app from the app store they could upload and send to him that would be great.
