Auto rotate turning off by itself - LG V30 Questions & Answers

I noticed my auto rotate keeps turning off on its own. Is anyone else seeing this?
Thanks...Brian
EDIT : I couldn't access the volume menu under sound settings either. It would just close right away. I reapplied the LG theme, then the Pixel Dark one I was using and everything is fine now. Not sure what caused it.

[Q] Stuck on rotate vibrant

Hello all.
Not much of a poster but i would like to see if i can get some help with my phone.
I've had it rooted and running Trigger for a couple months now......but recently i came into a problem. The phone will go into landscape mode on its own and sticks there.
It wont rotate back no matter what i do.
Yes i've tried toggling the auto-rotate settings but it still wont rotate back.
The only way i can get it to go back to vertical is by reflashing the rom, but it doesn't take long before it goes back. I've also tried flashing other roms but same problem.
It's really starting to get frustrating and i don't know what to do. Any thoughts?
Have you tried re-calibrating? Go to Settings>Display>Horizontal Calibration and let it do its thing. I ran into this with trigger and later, project v.
You mean anytime in landscape mode it locks that way? Like when using the camera or watching a movie? Or it only locks when using landscape on the home screens?
that sounds like a hardware problem to me but maybe if i knew more about what your doing i could say otherwise. there are sensors inside your phone that tell it when it is sideways, upside down, rightside up. not that i encourage this but...... have you tried bumping it off of a table to see if it flips back? maybe the sensors are acting up???

Auto Rotate always on?

Washing my car I threw my phone on the dash, it was in the sun facedown for about 20min, doors open... Since then the auto rotate doesn't want to turn off, even though its off in the settings, ontop of that it thinks bottom is left when upright...ive cycled auto rotate and power, no luck.. Any ideas?
Did you reboot it?
I've done everything but wipe the phone. Think its a hardware issue, but the g-sensor works fine..
Now when I charge the lockscreen goes horizontal, auto rotate is still off...
Help plz..
are you using a specific app for it or is it a setting in a custom ROM?

[Q] questions about gallery, and a few rom issues...(NOS M7)

Hi all I would post this in the development forums but I don't have 10 posts so...
I'm running Nos M7 rom and LK kernel. Every time i access the vertical quick settings and change any setting, the phone automatically switches to silent mode and the vibrate toggle doesnt do anything. I have to use the volume buttons to correct the profile back to vibrate. edit:: i dont have to change a setting, simply accessing the vertical settings puts the phone in silent. If i change the vibrate slider to on, it says on, but the phone still displays silent. It wil only go between normal and silent unless I use the volume buttons.
Secondly, every time i exit the camera, the screen brightness gets set to 100%. I have to go to quick settings to turn it back down to what it was before (I don't use autobrightness).
Also, I am not a big fan of the HTC gallery so I installed Gallery 3D (found apk on forums somewhere). It works fine however i cannot use gallery 3d to display a picture out of an MMS message unless i save the picture first. If i click view image without saving it loads the gallery and just displays a black screen with the zoom in/out buttons. Is this normal or a bug? HTC gallery displays unsaved MMS attachments properly.
Lastly out of curiosity, is it possible to get an AOSP lockscreen on the M7 rom? I'm imagining not but I coudln't find anything specific on this.
Thanks!

2 annoying bug?

Im using 2 apps Rotation Control to lock on orientation mode and Power Toggles to toggle sleep mode.
Rotation Control:
I use it to lock on landscape mode all the time. But with some apps, it still opens in portrait mode and even set to auto mode. Still it wont turn to landscape mode at all and can only use it on portrait mode! Some apps, it still opens in portrait mode, but after turned on auto mode and turn the tablet to landscape mode and I can lock it to landscape. But still very annoying to do this every time. it happens. I have never such problem in all mine apps in all mine previous tablets. Only on this M5 tablet.
Power Toggle:
I use this widget to toggles between sleep time. Ex set it to 3-10 min and after a while it turns auto back to 30 sec!
Anyone can tell me what the heck is going on? Is it the tablet/EMUI or apps causing this?
Rotation Control works perfectly for me, although I primarily force auto rotation. I'm rooted if it makes a difference (I don't think it does).
If you use a third party app/widget to change screen brightness or timeout, the value resets after you turn the screen off. That's an EMUI thing, I think. There is probably a work around (I would try freezing iAware if rooted) although I have learned to roll with it. Kindisplay does work to keep the screen on where movement is detected.

I managed to solve orientation problem to allow Rotation Control for app overlay. But the annoying Android system shows up in status bar and can't get rid of that message.
I suspected that was EMUI thing, reset to 30 sec. But can't find any solution to this stupid feature.
This will be mine first and last Huawei device. Good quality but crap software.

That's and Android thing I believe, not EMUI. You can get rid of the notification by following these instructions:

screen goes off completely in landscape games.

Whenever I open a game or app that defaults to landscape, the screen goes black. The only way to get out of it is by swiping from the side like the gesture to go home. If I turn my phone off while my screen is black, the only way to get the screen back is to restart the phone. Also, I can only see the game if I go home and go back into the game or app from the recents menu. I'm not sure if anyone else has this issue and any help would be appreciated.
Also, root isn't the issue as I unrooted my phone and the issue still occurred.
Edit: it started working again after msm reset.
Edit2: Cause was setting animation speeds to 0.25x
