first thing i notice about the screen the notice the grainy part at low light. coming from a note 8 it was bothering me like hell the blue tint shifting but now i dont even notice it. i just enjoy the phone and think the screen looks great.

Never had this bluish tint on any phone before. Is there a setting for this? Im gonna wait for more replies to see if this is normal. I have 13 more days to return.
Mine has it but I don't find it to be extreme. I prefer the slight blue hue to some other devices that are slightly pink or yellow at an angle. I have to put my device at an angle I'd rarely (if ever) use to see the blue tint.

Actually is "normal".
All reviewers I read in my country (Italy) said something about blueshing whites with different angles, so I think that it's a common issue with the P-OLED technology ATM, so if it's a problem for you change phone and avoid the Pixel XL2 and the V30.

No, looking at your phone from an angle is not normal. Most people look at their phones head on.
Settings-Display-Screen Color. If it's on Normal you will see more blue hue. I changed mine to Photo and that reduced the blue significantly. There is a custom setting. Don't know if you tried this yet. If you did and still have an issue, then I don't know what to add...

i guess u never had an amoled screen phone. galaxy s6 and s7 suffer from color shifting but samsung has better quality control over their screen since only a few devices has this. LG probably didnt care much about this issue and my guess is that most v30 have this problem. is lg first attempt on oled screen since the flex serious but they really need to work on their panel issue. dont bother exchanging.l since u probably going to get anothe device with same or even worse color shifting. if u cant live with it and want an lg phone, wait for lg g7 and wait for review to pops up.
this issue does not bother me and i already own a s8, s8 plus and note 8. v30 screen might not be good compare to those but to me it still a beautifull screen
on the side note. lg gave us 2 year warranty. maybe a new batch a few month ahead fix this issue and we can do a warranty replacement

hardware limitation. Samsung's have it too just much less. i notice it sitting on a table also, so try to angle it right. aside from that it's a nice clean panel. it's 1 of only 2 complaints i have, this and no led. no big deal over here. nicer than my htc10 display, that's for sure. better phone, too.

Non-issue.
I look at my display straight on, when it's unlocked.
If I'm not actually holding my phone -- if it's on a table or on tilted Qi wireless charging pad -- then the display is LOCKED and the black & white "Always On Display" is showing me notifications. There's NO blue tint on AOD.
But if I'm holding my own phone and looking at it, reading emails, I couldn't care less about OTHER people not being able to read my screen due to some off-angle, slightly blueish tint. It's none of their business.
Maybe someone will yell at me, "Hey, tell LG to get rid of that off-angle blue tint so I can read YOUR emails better!"

Agreed. It can be pretty severe but doesn't affect me at all as there's no need (for me at least) to look at such a small, handheld device from an angle. Would be an issue if it was a TV obviously. I guess some people might disagree if they need to look at their screen from an angle often for whatever reason, but if that's the case they should definitely go with another model.
Don't call a bug/quality issue a feature... that is just too lame. Of course Samsung has the issue, it tints red, but at a way lower rate. IPS is greater in many ways. Of course not in rich blacks.
Does anybody know if there are any display revisions within the V30? Some reports about the pixel (TheVerge) say that newer phones may be less affected.
The blue tint bothers me, but I really like the phone. Just wish there was a litte less tint.

So the Pixels are now equal to the V30? Because theirs was even bluer than the V30.
I don't see it because I don't look sideways at either of my LG V39/V30+. phone. My wife hasn't said a word about hers either.

take 5 pixel2xl and 5 v30, they are all different in screen quality... that is what bothers me.
maybe they come from several production batches, but technically they are the same.
does anybody know if there are any screen hw revisions on either pixel2xl or v30?
I know that different people have different opinion about quality. some use pc monitors with TN panels... not because they are so nice to look at, but because they are gamers and the panels switch fast.
oled is a promising technology, but LCD is way more mature... If you don't see the tint or if it does not bother you, that is ok for me. but I see it alot, and it bothers me. because I use several devices all day long; and if my personal device looks inferior/different, then I don't like that for the price paid...

As you can see here the right picture has slightly "harder" colours. But it seems like the left had more contrast. The yellow lines stay yellow on the left one, on the right it's orange allready.
Left one clearly blue ish shine.
Now as I hold my own phone in the same positions as the picture standpoints, i can see mine is also like the blue-ish one with whole white screens.
Can anybody check this on their phone, as I now am worrying wich one is the one Samsung intended it to be?
Also a little other question, does this "automatic screenpower adapting" also changes the whites more to grey on your phones? When i turned it off it changed alot.
I've also seen those pics on Tweakers and checked my screen but I don't see any blueish hue on my screen. However it's hard to check because I don't know how the "other" screen looks like in real life.
Most people won't be able to notice the blue-ish hint on their screens without having another non blueish screen for reference. But I've had 4 Galaxy S2's pass through my ownership, and all of them have this blue-ish tint.

Yeah i know, wouldn't have noticed it myself. But just by comparing my phone to the blue ish one, i could see mine was like the blue ish one immediatly.
The other one has more of the pink hue like more of the lcd screens is guess...
What causses the difference, is it just some little layer?
Do you think we can talk abouth one of them being broken?

I can tell you that, in real life, mine looks like like the blue-ish one from those angles. However when i look straight on to the phone it's not like that, it's pretty white, like the 3rd picture but without the blue in the left corner.
It's taken with a good camera.
It's not broken. I'm convinced it's a software problem. The colour temperature is set incorrectly, it's too 'cold'.
If you load up a video in the stock video player app, then go into the settings menu, and make a mental note of the white colour of the menu, then go into colour tone, and set it to 'warm', notice the menu now has a much more neutral white and isn't as blue? Unfortunately the colour tone settings set in the video player isn't saved for else where on the phone.

Thanks, but doesn't change much. It's just a sort of coating. When i just turn it to idle, and i reflect in in outdoor light, I can see some sort off the same blue ish hue on it... You can test it like this...

Ah yeah I see.
Well my other theory is that due to the way AMOLED displays work, as we all know they die out over time, getting increasingly dull with age. But with AMOLEDs, blue pixels have a much shorter lifetime than the Red/Green pixels.
SO my theory is that either there is blue 'cast/coating' over the screen or that the blue pixels have simply much boosted 'intensity', so that over time as the blue pixels age quicker than the other pixels over time, this blue cast/coating/boosted intensity will mean that the blues will still match the other pixels as they age much slower.
Didn't Supercurio release a color fix in his Voodoo kernel for SGS ? I guess you'll need to wait for a similar fix for the SGS 2 series .

I tried that personally, changing it from Standard to Movie helped the problem a fair bit, but it's still there. Dynamic didn't seem to make much difference.
Hmm. Could it be a software problem? Have you tried reflashing it? Or maybe its the problem with the Gorilla Glass.

Hmm it seems the difference is there. My phone is with my friend and his phone is less brighter than mine. This maybe because he has used his phone while mine is new.

I hadn't heard about this but my SGS2 is definitely Blue-ish compared to a white screen on my laptop LCD :-(

Well I brought mine back to the store for a refund, it's just too annoying for me.
Especially when you put it to an angle. The screen of my galaxy s 1 is far superior in this respect

No news anymore.
But I am deffinatly sure that my blue tint is not coming from the screen. When i turn my screen off and reflect it in some light and play with it, i can clearly see that it still is blue...

I wanted to branch out from the other thread and actually do a poll to see how many people are experiencing this problem, and how severely. In the other thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515299), several people claim that their copies are absolutely perfect and show no signs of black crush. If you indeed have a "good" screen, your feedback will be incredibly valuable. Please post pictures of your phone, if you do the test below and the blacks display correctly!
The reason that most of us are seeing "black crush" or ugly blockiness in dark areas in videos and photos is that these artifacts are present in the source material. Blocky patterns are a result of compression, and are most noticeable at the extreme ends of the dynamic range, where there is the least amount of detail. So if these compression artifacts are present in the source material, why do we not see it on other devices? It is because most other displays are properly calibrated to gradually gradate dark tones from dark gray to black. In other words, on a properly calibrated display, the color #000000 (black, or RGB 0,0,0) is virtually in distinguishable from #010101 (RGB 1,1,1). In fact, it is hard to tell a difference until #050505 (RGB 5,5,5). Therefore, most of the clipping that occurs as a result of compression artifacts is hidden. However, with the Note, #010101 is very much distinguishable from #000000. Dark tones are too bright, and we're able to see clearly until #010101. Instead of gradually moving to black, at #000000, it drops off a cliff. This is why we see such a dramatic different between the darkest grays and blacks, and why this black crush issue is so noticeable.
The side effect of having grays that are too bright is that when watching Blu-ray quality HD video, the dark areas look washed out, and the picture lacks "punch". High quality video that is properly encoded very rarely have pure blacks (to avoid clipping). As a result, dark scenes appear too bright on our phones.
The method to test is with a gamma test pattern, which I have attached. Download QuickPic from Market/Play (free). Go to Settings -> Viewer, and check the box for 32-bit render. Then, download the attached .png file, and view it in full screen in QuickPic. Make sure to do this in a DARK room!
Each box with a number has a corresponding RGB value. For example, the box with the number 1 is RGB 1,1,1, and so on. Load it on your Note and report back the smallest number that you are able to see. Also, does it gradually go to black, or does it just abruptly go to black without a smooth transition?
Last week, I went to two AT&T stores, and tested every display model with this method. Even with the bright store lights, it was possible to see box #1 on every phone. Repeated the test on an iPad 2, Galaxy Tab 10.1, and Skyrocket. The iPad was too dark, as the entire left side of the test picture is unreadable. On the Galaxy Tab, I could see box #7 or so. The Skyrocket showed a similar problem to the Note, as it seemed to abruptly transition to black. However, it was still a bit smoother than the Note, and box #4 was the smallest I could see.
Here's a picture of the test on my phone. The right side is the test image itself, so you can see how it is supposed to look like on your computer screen. Compare this with what you see on your phones.

When people watch a video, like starfield 720p and claim that it's "perfect", that can be subjective. But if you're able to clearly see the box with the number 1, and is dramatically different from the black box above it, then you can objectively conclude that the device has a problem. If you go exchange it, and get lucky, report back. One of the things I want to find out is what percentage of Notes (if any) display dark tones correctly.

Thanks. I don't want to return my phone to best buy again for a 5th time. I think I've shopped there for the last time. I had quality control problems with them with the galaxy tab also. Im gonna see if at&t will carry out my exchange this.time

Make sure to test with the attached .png file. Like I said, watching a video can be subjective. If you open up the test image in full screen and can see all the way to the number 1, then the videos may "look" better, but the underlying problem still exists.

Thanks for your input. I am going to show this to ATT and see if they can let me test the note's and hope to find one that is better. There has been some luck with others in the other threads posted. I hope I can get one that is better or Samsung fixes the problems. I saw the clipping problem for the first time on a 2gig 720p copy of Killer Elite and I was so mad that my new phone has this problem.

Test does look quite different depending on how much you turn up the brightness, but either way I can see all the numbers.
Edit: but no way in hell am I returning it for a model that runs hot, is laggy, purple blotches, or whatever other issues people complain about around here.

Are you doing this in a dark room, and viewing the image in full screen using QuickPic as I suggested? The resolution doesn't matter, as these are solid blocks of color. When you display it on full screen, it will stretch to cover your screen.

Yeah, I was in the living room and looked and thought there was no problem, until I went into the bathroom with all the lights off...then it was clear as day.
So what can we do to fix this?
The Pic on my phone looks exactly like the one you show in the 1st post on the left I can clearly see all the way to #1.
So what can we do to fix this if there is anything that can be done or should we send our Notes back to Samsung?
I can see all the way down to 1 and this is my 4 phone. The black clipping issue is almost non existent on my phone. Don't know if this test is accurate.

As of now, there is no known fix. Supercurio has been working on a fix for this since January. I have linked his thread below. The purpose of this thread, like I said, is to create an objective method of checking if black clipping exists on your device. This is a reliable and easy way of reproducing the issue, with the hope that you can easily demonstrate this to an AT&T or Samsung rep.

If you can see all the way down to 1, then your phone definitely has the black clipping issue. As I said before, watching a video is subjective. I can download the starfield 720p video with tubemate, and it will look great - but that's because the blacks in the video are pure black. With a real world video, this will not be the case.
When you see the box with RGB values of 1,1,1 and it is dramatically different than the top left box with RGB values of 0,0,0, then your phone exhibits the problem. If you still have doubts, go create your own image, and fill in half with RGB 1,1,1 and the other half with RGB 0,0,0. Put it on your phone and you will see a huge difference. On a properly calibrated display, the difference should not be discernible. Try it on other devices (TV, laptop, monitor, other phones, whatever), and you will see what I mean.

This is an accurate description of what we are all experiencing, and this test simply proves his hypothesis. I don't see how such a simple and objective test can be disputed as inaccurate.
The phone I have shows minimal black crush compared to the others three notes I had. But I just tried this test on my monitor and it barely shows 21 and 22. On my phone it shows to 1 and I thought my phone was almost perfect. Its ok I am very happy with the one I got until if any fix comes.

What does Samsung have to say about this? Are they aware of the issue? Are they working on a fix? Will it be fixed on the new ICS Galaxy suite update? Do we have to wait for AT&T to get fix from samsung and then wait another 4 months for AT&T to send it out us? Is AT&T aware of the issue? Has anyone told PhoneArena, Android Police, or contacted the Press and Media? Should I justt return my Note and never buy Samsung again? This makes me really mad the N7000 was released back in Oct and has this issue and it still has not been addressed? We spend $650 for a phone because of the big display and it has black clipping?
When I open up the test screen using the browser, the resulting image looks pretty good with the gradual black fade to nothing. but using quickpic and gallery, it shows the clipping. What's the difference?

Just read Engadgets full review of the nexus 10, generally sounds good, but light bleed is my one bug bare, and yes its there, and they confirmed it on a second device aswell!

Calm down slick. Even two devices doesn't mean that every product off the line will have it. Unless they had checked 20 devices and every one had the same problem, I'm not writing of the device. There are defects. Some people have Nexus 7's with no light bleed, others have it with some light bleed.

Of the 5 reviews so far only Engadget mentioned leakage, everyone else is highly satisfied with the screen. Cnet mentioned these are presale models being tested, so let's just wait for the final version.
With the new Nexus 10 coming out, I strongly believe Apple is going downhill. I do not want to be cynical but had Steve been still alive, this would have never happened. When I saw the Ipad Mini, I thought "This is going to be my first Apple product, though expensive". Then Google announced Nexus 10. Everything changed dramatically. I want Google, and nothing but the Google, so help me God(if any)!!!
Light bleed is kind of a big deal to me too. I don't care about anything being really much over 1920x1080 (although it has to be at least 300PPI for me with Pentile displays, I can still see it), but light bleed might be the deal breaker here when I see this thing. It is not like I absolutely need a tablet with a good desktop, laptop, and phone. I'd be getting it for media and browsing around the house and workplace where screen quality will be the #1 focus.

+1 Can't stand light bleed.
It seems that the contrast is nothing special either, but that's because it's not as bright as other tablets. The black level looks decent according to the tests.

Does warranty cover light bleeding?
Any LCD with a backlight will suffer from light bleed to some extent even the iPad3 retina (just Google for the pictures). Obviously, something to check for and exchange if it's significant. The pictures on The Verge don't show any signs of it and the pixel level comparison shows the Nexus 10 display to be superior in black level, colors and sharpness against retina.
What is the brightness of the screen, anyway?
There is a firestorm going on over at Engadget over this review. The same reviewer wrote the iPad mini review and fawned over it but nitpicks the Nexus 10. Engadget has been deleting posts that point out the flaws in the review (and back it up with evidence).
I wouldn't put too much stock in this review, but it's always a good idea to be skeptical.

When the spread of the backlight is uneven, so parts of the screen are brighter than others.
I always thought light bleed was the presence of light when there shouldn't be any. Like when you're watching a movie in portrait view, and the black bars on top and bottom show light. That's why I haven't wasted much time with IPS in the last couple years ever since discovering Samsung's AMOLEDs. Uneven backlighting is a different and even worse artifact, and again it only affects non-AMOLED screens.

Seems like they both have pros and cons. Amoled displays have high risk of tint, I experienced this in my s2 for about a year until I finally got a replacement. This one portrays whites much better, or at least now it does. Aside from that you have all benefits, thin capacitive touch layer, vibrant colors (I don't give a **** if they're over saturated, they look great and that's what matters), no risk of light bleed, and huge potential battery savings. In my personal opinion I would take an amoled panel any day. I mean, displays like the super lcd2 in the one x are brilliant, but come on,, have you seen the note 2 on dynamic settings ?

The technology is not there yet, nor is the economy. They simply can't produce a 2560x1680 OLED panel, 10" or otherwise, at a price anyone would be willing to pay.
Look at the PenTile "tricks" they have to pull on Galaxy phones as an indicator of how they're struggling with the tech, look at the very high cost of the Tab 7.7 to see how expensive it gets when you increase size, and to further reinforce that look at the ludicrous price of their big screen SAMOLED televisions compared to LCD and plasma.
Give it a few more years, it'll be feasible, and Samsung is surely working very hard on the problem, since they have a lot invested in pretty much owning the OLED market.
You're right. This is going to be the best 10" screen for the next 6-12 months. Yes it won't look as good as the screen on my S3 but I will be more than happy with it.

Hi everyone, I had a rather odd issue (if you can call it that) and would love to see if a few of you could maybe try to replicate it.
It's on my recently obtained Galaxy S6 Edge. Whenever I tilt the phone up, down, left, or right, I get this blue tint that appears, it's most noticeable when displaying a white screen.
Also, do the whites on anyone's GS6 or GS6E look a tad yellowish? I upgraded from a One M8 so maybe it's just me still adjusting to 'truer' and less blue whites compared to LCD, but they definitely look a little 'dingy' compared to my M8
Anyways, does anyone else experience either of these things? Should I get a replacement, or am I just nitpicking? (It's probably the last one)
I would recommend downloading a burn in/stuck pixel checker from the play store, and put it on a solid white to check.

But I'm sure we'll get used to it. You're right though, for the time being it is a little annoying.
I could live with it if I didn't see how crystal white it can be when not looking at it from dead on. I may try to swap for a unit that doesn't suffer from the color shifting so badly.

My thoughts exactly.
I've asked a few people what they thought, and they all seemed to think that the color shift had a more discolored grey/blue color compared to how it looked straight on, and that it looked better straight ahead.
I have minor colorblindness so to me, it looks like a more pure white from a bit of an angle, and more dingy straight on.
Idk, I'll go in to my carrier and compare against the display units when I can.
I will say though, I was in best buy the other day and the display units they had there had the same issue.
Well I got mine at best buy and I don't seem to remember the display units having that but to be fair when I first saw their display units all was thinking was "DAMN!!!!!" it was so beautiful.

To be honest, I'm wondering if the display on the standard S6 may be better.
Mine has the same exact effect. T-mobile, 32gb, black edge- Display shows warm, yellowish-white straight on and shifts to cooler blueish-white (preferred) at the slightest of tilts. Love the phone despite some of its quirks but I found this issue to be quite annoying- enough to return it today. My configuration is now on back order via phone support. I'll take that as a sign and keep monitoring if the new batch presents the same issue.
Yeah, I think I decided after a few minutes of pondering in the shower, that I'm going to return my S6 Edge tomorrow, and go for it's standard sibling. it's just to much money to spend for something that not exactly the way I want it, and from what I've heard, the standard S6 has the most well calibrated, accurate display there is.

Yeah they probably will, cheap bastards, I'm gonna try exchanging for a new one in two weeks. Hopefully by then there will be all new batches without any issues that exist in the current ones. If not then oh well, I like the wrap around display too much to consider the regular s6

On your phone are the top and bottom cooler in tone than the middle. I could easily live with it if it stayed the same tone from top to bottom but mine really only send warmer in the middle area.

Just turned on Adaptive Display which seems to make the whole screen more uniform in tone temperature however angles are still a bit of a..... well..... bi*** because they remind me of the pure white coloring I've grown to know so well. But I suppose this is far more livable than before which was almost unbearable (thanks OCD).
May still try to swap for a new unit in a week or so just to see if anything has changed.

Yeah, I just ran by my carrier (at&t unfortunately ) to compare against the display units there, all of them (including the standard s6) had it just as bad if not worse than mine.
To be totally honest, the whites look most accurate from dead on the more I use the phone. At different angles they look to washed out with blue and unrealistic.
Personally, if I were you, I would just keep your phone, maybe go in to a carrier to see for yourself if you spot any difference in the display models.
No two AMOLED panels are alike, but at least in my case, the one I got is just as good, if not better, than the in store units I saw.

At least your edge's screen looks uniform in tone from top to bottom. I have to use Amoled photo mode for get rid of the difference at the top and bottom and even then there is still some. Plus in this mode colors aren't quite as vibrant.

From what I've read, the S6 and S6 Edge have the most accurate white balance on a mobile display to date based on an sRBG color gamut.
Could it be that the iphone white balance is simply set much higher (less accurate, but what people are used to)?

But if it's a purely white image (that is to say, an image solely comprised of the hex code #FFFFFF), should it not display as close to a true white as possible, rather than a blue/yellow tinged colour?

I'm saying that from a sRGB perspective, true white is a little warmer than what the iphone (or most LCDs) show.
If I recall correctly, I think the iPhone is set at a white color temperature of around 7800k, whereas the galaxy S6 is set at 6450k (with basic screen setting). 6500 is perfect white on an sRGB gamut.

Sounds about right, although I'm actually starting to think my particular display might be a bit off. Definitely getting reddish hues on my whites, whereas I'd imagine a warmer white would be yellow. Way too much variance between each unit.

ring against the display units.
I did that today and found that they were all pretty similar in appearance, but if yours is defective you'll definitely know from comparison.
I figured I'd create this thread to discuss the build quality if the Nexus 6p and have it all in one thread instead of every issue having its own thread.
I got mine on Wed and noticed a pink hue right away. I know this is common with amoled but I have seen cases of it where it's worse than others so I chat in today to get a replacement but I just noticed something else on my unit. The back is creaking when I press it. It makes a very audible sound and I can feel it give a little bit. I made a video showing it. Another thing I noticed is when my hand was along the seem where the display meets the body and I would press, I would feel the display dip down a little bit. Like there was a little give. Anyway, I'm glad I have a replacement coming

My screen is really good. I was worried about that because it can be a total crapshoot and I wasn't going to accept a piss yellow screen. My whites are very white. I might tweak it every so slightly but overall my screen is excellent.
My body is perfect as well. No clicks, noises or anything when pressed and my screen is properly flush around the entire device. Pushing on the corners does nothing, there is no screen movement. The back camera glass is also perfect.
Really my only beef with the device physically is design not quality issue. I wish the volume and power were higher and preferably on different sides. They are too low and where my hands go for holding the device. I'm not having issues with them, just something I'g change if I were king at Gtown.
Overall I'm very happy with my unit. I would certainly of filed for exchange if there was something that bugged me.
how is the vibrator? quiet? rattling like nexus 6?
As Aridon said no issues here,I have the Pinky blue hue if you turn the phone Flat looking down it ,but that's just amoled,using at it should be no screen issues

My build came pretty good, screen is flush, haven't noticed any pink or blue or yellow hue, no rattling, the only small thing is the bottom back antenna cover isn't very flush only on one side though, not too big of a deal I guess. Probably wouldn't have noticed it if I wasn't looking for it. Kind of off topic but I've only been getting about 3 1/2 hours of screen on time. Kinda curious how other people get more...
I've already had 2 devices.
Both came with imperfections on the ali, the raised plastic bit at the bottom on the back like almost everyone seems to have, "wobbles" on the screen where its not flush all the way round, screen is crap compared to my HTC one m7, its yellow and pink/blue when you tilt it any angle, I've only had them a few days....
I waited a long time for this device and I'm seriously disappointed and don't know what to do now, I expected a perfect solid phone, I can get over things as they are I think but I'm worried that over a month or two it'll have more issues due to the soft ali etc. Yes I will buy a case but after 6months I'll want to use it naked. My m7 didn't get any scratches on the metal but this will 100%
Build quality seems good to me, no rattling buttons, scratches, raised screen etc, the aluminium to plastic join at the bottom seems fairly smooth, you can feel there is a change but it's not bigger on one side. Personally though the screen is a bit weird. Face on its great but even tilting the device a few degrees you can see whites change to pink or blue depending on the angle. It's whiter than my Nexus 6 head on but the colours change at less of an angle.

Seems like you got real lucky having none of the issues posted around (of which the 2 devices i've received have all!)

I don't know if i can be bothered trying a 3rd time, its back in stock on GPS i could order another one and return this RMA (if they let me). Chances are they will be exactly the same, my 2nd one even turned up with finger prints on the plastic cover, call it petty but it says a lot about the factory to me.
Build quality on my unit seems nearly perfect. No clicking or rattling. Rear lower plastic cap isn't raised. Out of the box there was some very slight smudging just below the rear visor glass. I was afraid it was scratched aluminum but a little moisture and friction rubbed it out.
My display however does seem to shift colors at angles. And it's also a muddy yellow compared to the One M8 LCD panel. Could just be that that's true white and I'm used to a cooler blueish white but when comparing side to side the LCD panel is actually preferable to my eyes. Shifting the screen seems to make a pinkish cast, on the nexus 6 I previously owned I would see a sort of greenish cast.
It seems this is just a property of oled panels.
Am I right in thinking that the only problematic units have been those shipped to the UK?
My build was good, but my screen is yellowish and my phone keeps random rebooting. I have an idea RMA coming, and I ordered an aluminium 6p coming as well. I've already scratched some of the paint off the graphite

This is what is troubling me switching from a Oneplus One. The 6p is my first AMOLED phone and the color shift at different angles and the off white color has me worried. This is normal for OLED?

Edit: I did notice that the power button is pretty loose, as others have mentioned. I have it in a case so it isn't a huge deal, but I don't feel comfortable using the double tap camera shortcut a lot on it

Plinkous, compared to the one which I'm gathering has a more cool (blue) tone, is the color that much worse... I have the one also and have become accustom to the whiter whites.... I have had the g2 and the galaxy nexus... The nexus was an amoled screen and i can say that screen had a more warm tone... Whites seemed warmer (less blue, more yellow if you will) than the one.. A note to point out is i was at my friends house and he has a galaxy s6.. I looked at his phone which is bone stock and thought, wow this screen is super white and bright... Then i put the one next to it and was blown away.. The One was brighter at full brightness and also way more whiter than the s6.. So im not sure with the "yellow tint" if that is a product of amoled screens, a better color calibration or what... One note as everyone sees and may be a way of perspective...... The sun is a kelvin rating of 5900... This in itself has a slight yellow tone when compared to say 7500 when comparing whites

No issues here. Everything is just perfectly assembled on my Aluminium 64. The screen is neutral, the back panels are flush, the screen and aluminum unibody do not have any gaps, there are no creaks that I have notices, and I haven't forced it to, but does not bend. I know Huawei is being called out as having bad QC around here, but I am satisfied. Much more so than I was with the old LG Nexus 5, which while a beast of a phone, has developed stress cracks in the black plastic frame over time, and nexus and LG letters have all fallen out. I stayed away from Nexus 5X, partly because these durability issues.
Must be lucky. I have no issues with my phone. It is perfect.

From the several nexus 6 units I went through yes the color shift is normal but to varying degrees. Each unit I had showed a different behavior interestingly, and I went through 4-5 (long story).
I did use a custom kernel and color calibrator to make the nexus 6 'true' white which I believe is 6500k (?) and compared to the LCD one m8 it was still a little yellow. However I know the m8 isn't tuned to be completely true to life, the colors have a bit more pop and were on the cooler side which I preferred.
