Hi, in attachmet a screenshot of my son’s phone, it’s a Redmi 3 with last Global Stable .
Some weeks ago battery (or phone…I don’t understand were’s issue) begane crazy, somtimes we charge at 100% after 10-15 min without use and screen off battery down at 70%. Other times battery seems discharge also when phone’s off, we turn it off at 70% and, after 4-5 hours, when turn on battery is at 10%.
I also changed the battery but I didn’t solved.
Anyone have suggestments?

The Same Problem!
Wow, is the same problem, doy fix it now?

which replacement battery did you buy?

It's due Kernel changes in Latest Updates. Unzip and Flash the one I attached. Idle drain is fixed, screen on drain keeps a little high yet.

Thanks for your help, can you help me how I Flash this file?
What is "Idle"?
With this file that you posted, how many hours of battery gives the phone?

Strange battery problem help plz

My phone drains the battery very quickly from 100% to 1% but after reaching 1% it can be used for hours.Last time after the full charge battery dropped from 100-1% in about 2 1/2 hours of use on WiFi but after that it lasted for more than 13 hours on 1% but the Network data, Bluetooth and WiFi was off.
Currently i am running CM7 stable (battery fix is also applied) i was also facing such issues on the stock 2.3.4.
maybe a battery re-calibration can solve this issue?

I bought my Atrix 3 weeks ago. My previous device was also another Motorola, Milestone.
When I first started to use Atrix I found that the battery was draining so quickly even I didn’t install any apps yet. It was becoming 1% in 70 minutes with full display and running default apps.
I tried to full battery several times, did factory resets and finally went back to shop. The shop replaced the battery with another new one.
Still it happened same problem. Then they changed my device with another new one. It was same, too.
I would give it back to shop but last time I decided to discharge it until it turns off.
At this point I found that discharging takes long time after it became 1%. For example by heavy using it becomes 1% in 70 minutes, then it takes at least 200 minutes more even I watch videos via Youtube, play games etc.. It means in total it takes at least 4,5 hours with full display and heavy usage. That’s OK for me as battery life.
But I want my battery meter show correct percentage. Then I can be able to know when it will turn off.
I tried battery calibration several times. I search a lot about this problem but found nothing. Probably people thinks that their battery life is too short.
So cannot find solution.
Summary: My Atrix’s battery meter immediately drop to 1% and then runs 3 times longer than previous 99%. PLEASE HELP ME TO CORRECT MY BATTERY METER DISPLAY.
Do you think that your battery fix way helps me?

I don't know. I bought it, and unlocked it directly, then flash CM7 Rom, but noticed that the battery drain very fast. However, after the indicator becomes 1%, I can still use rather a long time. I thought it was an error on battery meter, but I can't make it display correctly through calibration.
Now if the battery is fully charged, I can still use rather a long time after the indicator becomes 1%. But after the battery drained, it can't be charged completely. It really disappoints me very much.

Ya that's the same problem i have i think its something to do with phone recognizing the mah capacity of the battery if u can see the charge-full-design in sys/class/power-supply/battery/charge-full-design u will notice it showing only 500 which should be 1880 that's why our phone drops and charge quickly according the capacity its getting from charge-full-design.
This value can be changed on other phone but for Motorola i have not found any tutorial or app to do so

And for charging don't take off the phone from charging on 100% bcoz when the phone battery meter is showing 100% its battery mv is less than 3900mv and if u keep it on charge after 100% battery mv value will gradually go up to 4200mv which is the actual capacity of the battery.

Oh, thanks. The value in sys/class/power-supply/battery/charge-full-design is just a result, representing the battery statue. So the key is that the battery capacity can't be recognized correctly by the phone. I just test another battery, and the value 1880!
But the former battery doesn't look like a fake one. Actually, I bought them together. I can't understand.

[Q] Battery issue? Possibly the Costum Kernel?

Well recently I bought the Beast S3.
Now I installed this first Kernel - CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4
And CM9 rom, was working great though there's one problem the damn battery drain is like being raped evey 5-10 mins if not less I loose 1-2% battery.
Now I though it might be the Kernel so I switched to Siyah-s3-v1.5.3-CWM, no go still the same result.
I changed my Rom to CM10, same result.
Here's a Screenie of my device (In Attachments)
Could you help out a little? I've checked and not sure where is the issue, and I understand that super huge screen consumes allot of power but even if I set brightness to 0-25% I get the same result...
Most battery issues are caused by installed user apps. Install Cpu Spy for cpu deep sleep issues and Better Battery Statts for locating apps that show unusual activity`s and drain the battery.

This battery drain percentage looks normal to me.
Sometimes I lose 5% without doing anything, even if I have a perfectly cleaned rom.

[SGS2][GUIDE] GT-I9100 Phone shut-off at 30%-50% battery issue

Device: Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) T-mobile carrier- unlocked, Rooted ,Running stock rom with a Philz touch recovery
Problem occurred after about a week of purchasing a new battery since the old one got swelled... but i have two brand new batteries now both are not original but good quality (1 Year Warranty) With both batteries I had the Problem
Let me explain the problem :
______________________
Device would go off in at a certain battery level from 30%-50% (as for my experience):fingers-crossed:
To turn the device ON plugging in is compulsory... but then the battery would be Completely drained..
Also if you try to do a restart at a battery level which is closer to the sudden death the after re boot the battery will be at a extremely low level and wont rise...
I searched all of i can to find a cure to this because the last thing u expect in a situation is your phone dying?
Apparently the problem seems to be that the phone is reading the battery wrong? about a 40% so simple do a calibration Nope Nothing not even a change...
Here is what I tried
_________________
Calibration Methods - Apps and manualy
Reset the device
Let the battery chip reset
and all other methods
but finally i decided to reflash another stock rom :silly:
and I Downloaded This file I9100XWLSD_I9100XENLS1_XEN Since it was a Genuine Netherlands version but i decided not to go with T mobile this time:fingers-crossed:
I Wiped all the phone in Recovery then went to download mode and using Odin V1.85 I flashed the stock rom:fingers-crossed:
Turned it on using a Fully charged battery that i charged separately and i used it for some time max brightness max vol radio and gps wifi bluetooth etc. to drain the battery and at 38% phone started to flicker and turned off again:crying: (no Sim or Memory inserted no apps downloaded)
But i decided to go again i plugged it in ( never changed the batt) and let it charge for about 95% and turned all on again and this time i put on my simcard and memory and did all what i did except that i downloaded whats app and instagram. and also when it reached below 55% i Played some music and locked the phone (NO SCREEN LOCK USED) and after some time i checked batt was at 38% :fingers-crossed: immediately i locked it back and left it again....
Viola !!!!!!! last time i checked it was 15% low batt warning came ( haven't seen it in weeks) and then the battery drop was a bit fast and at 12% the screen got a little flicker so i plugged it in.. I think the problem is halfway solved, ill let the battery go some cycles and update soon.. also i will attach some screen shots off the battery level too and take a close look at the time and battery level after 15% on the pics
:victory:

So yesterday I plugged the device until it reached about 85% and unplugged it when I was going to sleep, and at about 8 o'clock this morning i noticed that the battery level has risen to 96% , I think that is because the phone slowly gets to know the battery level correctly.. and right now it 11.08 am and I had turned on Mobile Hotspot and Data from 8 am , battery level is 82%.
I'll update again tonight when the battery drains completely

Can you also share the SoT ? I know it depends on how a person uses the phone but still I want to have an idea. I might also try this to have a better battery life. I also once tried that exact stock rom but without even charging completely, I went on to another ROM. So I am gonna give it another try today . :good:

I have the same problem. when I reboot my device in most of cases the battry level showed is a 10/30% lower than before and also my phone shuts off showing 10% percent or less and the sreen brightness goes a bit crazy for 2 secs before it shuts off. I have the original Samsung battery but I also bought the 2000mAh extended kit but now this issue happens in both of them I've read that I have to callibrate battery so I will try this and post results
1. Turn off your phone.
2. Fully Charge.
3. When getting 100% signal, unplug quickly.
4. Pull off the battery and put it anywhere.
5. Wait for 180 seconds exactly (be careful )
6. Meanwhile, take this opportunity to dust off the internal compartment.
7. Put back the battery on the right side.
8. Turn on the phone.
9. Pray the Battery god

I did it and my results were this. My phone shuts off at 5%, slightly less than other times. I rebooted it once while 80% percent and remained the same. Battery lasted 2h and 40 mins with medium/high usage
I would say it fixed something for me but not a lot. Now im going to try it with the 2000mAh samsung battery
Edit1: now after another full cycle the battery lasted for more or less 3 hours with medium usage and shutted off at 8% now im going to try on my 2000mAh battery that had an 8% and it shutted of normally with the shutting off screen and without weird screen brightness tweaks

Well I think it worked for you because you had a Original Samsung Battery Right?
In SL a Original batt would only come with the phone :crying: Fakes have invaded,,
So i read some where that fakes dont have the original capacity? so if it is then it would match perfectly !
so now im in hunt of a original hopefully this is not a phone problem
No its not definetly a phone problem and it isn't a big deal to find an original samsung battery for sgs2 however the Samsung 2000 mAh battery kit its waay harder to find and the ones that I found are more expensive than when it came out
Yeah, I definitely think the problem is with your battery, so you just need to replace it.
Btw guys, what is your general Screen on Time with your standard 1650mah battery (not extended)? I'm running CM13 and I barely get 2h on a single charge, but then I read reviews from the early days of S2 and for instance here they have 4h24 browsing time (with screen at 50% brightness) or 8h video playback.
Is it all related to being a different ROM, or my battery just needs a retirement? Being a different ROM would impact so much on the Screen on Time? Also, I have auto-brightness always enabled, would that have such a significant impact?
Greetings
EDIT: Since I generally use the phone indoors I don't think that would be the difference in such a different Screen on Time

With 1650 mAh and on CM13 nightlies, my best so far is 2h and 28 mins with brightness at between %0 and %25 and only wifi is on.
That 4 hour SoT is probably on gingerbread though.

battery level drop is natural? ?

Battery drain and overheating.

Hey
Does anyone else have serious issues with this in every Oreo ROM? My battery will drain %1 per minute while playing even the most basic games, and the phone will get so hot it becomes uncomfortable to hold, it's top left of the phone so I presume CPU heat and not battery heat.
I have read about fixes for this after Oreo updates, but they're for other phones, but things like flashing older baseband, modems, and things like that.
I'm definitly not a noob when it comes to modding android, but I'm also not an expert.
Is it possible I could have some baseband or modem miss match? Would it be safe to flash an older version, and where would I find it?
Also is newer firmware included in ROMs? As I have seen some that say a certain version firmware is required or recommended, and I've never that I remember, flashed anything to do with firmware specifically...could I maybe have an older firmware? And could that even affect the battery in this way?
The battery isn't just bad, it is really bad, I took it off charge last night, slept 6 hours and woke up to %85 battery, with less than 1 minute SOT, every single battery savings feature is enabled, performance is set to battery and all that stuff.
Is this a problem that just I am having, or is this the same for everyone on every Oreo ROM? If it is just me, I hope someone can help me solve it.

Hello, you probably have the same problem as me, keep charging the phone until it says Charged in the Configuration > battery (not the lock screen!) takes about 1 extra hour for me, because the phones takes about 2500mah as the 100% (you can search my post history for more information) or download accubattery to see the charge current and when its 0 or -1 it means that the battery its fully charged
test battery life after doing that

I don't think that is my issue as my phone is left charging for 3 hours + after it says %100 until I actually go out.
It also wouldn't account for the overheating.
Thanks for your reply though

JoyUI 12 ? If yes, same problem here. Report the problem for black shark and wait for fix.
i kinda found a work around. but i had to factory reset my phone. then went to settings searched for battery optimization then optimized the apps i can optimize. then selected a few apps to disable background running. now it's 7%-8% drain for 11hrs. still not that good but way better than 30% drain on idle for 5hrs. i even remember when it was new. i guess it was na os version. i only get 1%-2% drain on idle/overnight. but i guess we'll just have to wait for future updates. i hope this will be fixed soon.
Same issue for me, Android system is killing my battery, 40% drain each day without any use...
Please could someone offer a solution?
