as I know at&t and cricket is the same company. so if the phone is locked to at&t it will work with cricket without unlocking, right ?

is this model is DSDA (dual sim dual active) or DSDS (dual sim dual standby) ? after unlocking can I use 2 sims at the same time?

Have you tried asking for the code for free, they gave me mine after a month of owning the phone. It needs to have been connected for at least 30 days.

Unlock code for Vodafone UK
Without waiting 30days for Vodafone to give me the unlock code for my Mate 10 Pro, can anyone recommend a quicker method that works please - it's a UK Vodafone model.

Vodafone only want you to pay for the first 30 days, not necessarily to sit through them. If you've already paid for your first month's usage in advance, ask them to unlock your 'phone - you're already eligible.

Ordered unlock code yesterday for $13 and guess what my phone has a higher level of encryption that costs another $13 so $26 in total!!! Scamming gits, as if they didn't know my phone requires higher level of encryption or not....must be common trick they use to get more money....I'll request a refund and get the code free from Vodafone albeit I'll have to wait 30 days!

I'm in Australia and here Vodafone supply the 'phone already unlocked - they simply refuse to sell you the 'phone unless you sign up for a plan (which you can then cancel during the first month, meaning you'll only be forced to pay for one month's service).
Perhaps ask Vodafone UK directly (the company, not a shop assistant); they may well supply it unlocked too.
I got mine from China through AliExpress so have the genuine (international) stock ROM, but I've heard Vodafone throw on their own bloatware - so you might also want to consider getting it "re-branded" to the stock AL29 (or AL09 if it's a single-SIM version) ROM to get rid of the bloatware.

The crooks are messing me about now saying they've sent my unlock request to the carrier and refusing to refund as requested about 3 times! Bunch of scamming idiots!

Why is it impossible to unlock X10 now?

I got an X10a last week locked to the at&t network and have been trying with 0 sucess to get it unlocked. I've tried everywhere online, no one can do it. Anyone know why the unlock servers are down? Was it a crackdown from SE? I paid $40 to htccode.com and they haven't refunded my money or been much help. I tried MobileInCanada.com for IMEI remote unlock, they said they couldn't do it and refunded my money. I used my friends att account to call them and ask for the code, and they put the IMEI in their system and got a message that the phone is an at&t exclusive and don't have th unlock code for it. I don't get it. This isn't an iPhone, it's an Android phone that's been out for almost a year. The admin on the setool.net forums where the unlock server is held has been very vague about it ever coming back online. He always just says "maybe 1 week, 1 month, maybe never"
What's the deal?

They answered (Nov 12):
> via cable 28 usd not availble at moment as servers blocked for unknown time.

Since your ATT claimed they don't have this code at all, the code can be from manufacturer only that can be more expensive, than $39
I have similar problem, but mine is locked to T-Mobile UK. I am a T-Mobile US customer. TMO UK customer service has standard procedure - they can send unlock code for 15 GPB (around $24), but they provide this service to current TMO UK customers only and send the code by regular mail, so this customer should have street address. So I am stuck too.

Yeah, I know. I get free service from T-Mo because my wife works for them. I like the x10 better then any of their Android phone so I can deal with EDGE+WiFi.
By the way, I wonder if this has anything to do with the recent trouble unlocking...

I like Ericsson and Sony Ericsson - their flagships usually have almost no errors and work pretty long. In addition, Ericsson is one of the main manufacturers of infrastructure equipment for mobile communications, so they can plan better handset design. And ergonomics - interface and no restriction to use third-party programs. I never had any problems with phone book copy from old handset to new one.
I read this article already and posted link in one of threads of this forum. I was almost sure that all unlocking business works through insiders and this article confirms this. It is pretty possible that this is the end of all unlocking business in form that we knew it. Maybe that pushes forward cracking the lock itself.
I paid 5 bucks on ebay, worked fine
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
good thing i bought an unlock code a few months ago when it was on a deal

I work for o2 and as long as it is a contract phone and not pay as you go, you can unlock it anytime by either completing the online form (google o2 'unlockmyiphone') or by calling customer services and requesting them to fill out the form for you. It can take up to 14days for you to receive the code.
Failing that, there are numerous IMEI unlocking websites online who will send the code within 24hours for a small fee.
Regards.

I am presuming that it will not need unlocking to use a Giffgaff network sim as its part of O2 .
Three O2 shops today no stock and no idea if they will receive stock for launch 1st may .

You could use a Rebel Simcard. It's not the best solution but it definately does the job. I used one on my Dell Streak when they were exclusive to O2.
I take it you're getting it as an upgrade direct from O2?
If not open a contract with O2 through Phones4U and you'll get an unlocked device

It is £399 with O2 but will probably be locked
I also asked a popular online unlocking firm what the chances are of unlocking this handset and this was their reply:
This should be no problem at all. That's because there's one main database for all European Samsung Android handsets. We have unlocked the Samsung Galaxy S from all 6 main UK networks.

I have no previous contract, so just buy o2 payg £399 & unlock £15? (Total=£414)

Because at this stage, nobody is really sure that the 'unlock £15' part of the process will indeed work You could end up with a phone that will not currently work on the sim you may have ( I do understand you have no contract, so if you are happy with O2 payg, fill yer boots).

My Vodafone HD2 came unlocked - that wasn't the problem. The killer was that because it was a Vodafone phone, it could only take updates from Vodafone, and their updates came months after the unbranded ones. Once the Devs got HSPL all sorted out then it wasn't so much of a problem, but that didn't happen overnight.
So be aware - it's not just the network locking that's an issue when you buy a phone from a network.

This was the same with the first batch of O2 HD2's only accepting O2 specific updates which they changed after the second batch went out as were getting too many complaints. Hopefully they've learned from this and will allow standard manufacturer updates from the start. This wasn't due to particular messing around it was due to the serial numbers being registered with the manufacturer as not being generic therefore updates were refused by them. I doubt Samsung are quite as good as HTC with the regular updates but always good to know you can update when it's available.

Here's a response I received from a query I made of an eBay seller in relation to unlocking the SGS2...
"This is GUARANTEE TO WORK because this code is directly from Samsung and it is permanent. After you unlocked it, you can do software update or anything you like and it will still be unlocked."
Sounds promising...
It does but would like to know for sure before buying.

Successful unlock?
Did anyone hear about any successful SGS2 unlock?
I also read in some places that when you buy PNG from O2 it is SIM free. This was the case when I bought an iPhone 4 when it came out. It was SIM free out of the box.
just either get CPW to price match which they are supposedly doing at £399, or waith two weeks as they are goint to that price soon.
This is very stupid from me but as with the SGS, would it be possible to retrieve the bml3.bak file and unlock?
I'm just assuming samsung is using the same method of hiding the Network Control Key.. maybe they're lazy..

Lumia 920 - Unlock Guide

Hi Folks,
Let's concentrate all conversation about 'how to get my Lumia 920 unlocked' to help everyone!
Rogers Lumia 920:
Get locked Lumia in any store, and pay $50 in the store to unlock it.
It took me 2 hours, and the store employee had to talk with 3 different people on the Roger's customer service.
I've paid full price and got a prepaid sim card. To unlock, I had to put $50 in the simcard to able the customer service get it to use on the "unlock fee".
I've try unlock.canadagsm.ca and http://cellunlocker.net/. No success. Only in Rogers store.
[UPDATE] CanadaGSM sent me an email saying that they started to unlock Lumia 920 from Rogers
Lumia 920 bought from Toronto's Microsoft store
Is locked but http://cellunlocker.net/ has the codes to unlock (We read some users using that, but some fail).
Lumia 920 AT&T
So far, no way to unlock them.
[UPDATE] A webpage is saying they can do it: http://cilianunlock.com/codigos-nokia-lumia/nokia-lumia-atat-usa.html
Unlocked Black Lumia 920 from Expansys
http://www.expansys.com/nokia-lumia-920-black-236807/
Unlocked Lumia 920 from GSMNation (all pre orders)
http://www.gsmnation.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=lumia+920
If you have some new information, please share here.
Thanks
Denis
Aren't the Expansys and GSMNations ones the International versions of the phones - i.e. don't have the bands to support LTE in NA?
I think this should get Stickied as this is something a LOT of people are interested in and this is also a good format for One Guide to Unlock them ALL!!.
Just tried to unlock a rogers model bought from the Microsoft store at Yorkdale with cellunlocker.
They couldn't unlock it.
My sister has a Rogers account so I'm going to talk to her tomorrow and see if she can call in and do anything.
Did you try http://unlock.canadagsm.ca ?
welectronics[.]com[/]gsm[/]nokia[.]shtml (i can't post links yet) has unlocked 920s, currently the white one is in stock
i haven't purchased from them before but hear that they're reputable from places like howardforums and they're advertised on gsmarena
for $650

I've unlocked mine in Royal Plaza Rogers Store (close the union station, Toronto Downtown).
The store employees there know how to do it now.
It takes some time, but they did.
Good Luck!
Have any of you guys ask GSM Nation about the phone? It said 3G/4G: 1700/2100, but according to Nokia global, the international does not contain the AWS band. As you can see from Welectronics and Expansys, they don't list that AWS band. I think there is a mistake here. Anyway, make sure you contact them first before purchasing the phone as we have different model with different active frequencies.

I don't have Rogers account, I've bought the device paying the full price, bought there a prepaid simcard (same Rogers store), added $50 (plus taxes) in the prepaid account and the employee of the store called the customer service and got the unlock code. It took 2 hours to do that, because some employees from the customer service said that I couldn't unlock. After 2 calls, the guy (3rd) told us the instructions.
I've done this on the Rogers Store at the union Station (PATH) in downtown Toronto.
The employees there said that never done this before. I've insisted because someone here told me that is possible. And now I can confirm.
I got in touch with the over on This Link, and told it can be done in 24 hours or 7 days, but they guarantee it works.

The majority of the companies guarantee. They also guarantee you'll get your money back when it doesn't work. I've tried three different companies for unlock, two of which are unsuccessful and still waiting on the third. Most likely if you caught the newer batch it will be at least a week before we can get our hands on codes.
As of Nov 19, I can confirm that the following unlock sites are a no go for the 45/2012 batch:
cellunlocker.net
mobile-phone-unlock.com
mobileincanada.com
How do i find out what batch number my 920 is from ?

It'll be on the box next to the bar codes. It will say XX/2012.

Anyone tried the below (cilianunlock) - seems sketchy to me....

Huawei Honor 9 Sim Unlock Code

(mod edit)
Contract honor first, that's the weirdest thing, since this is should only unlocked, how it got locked?!
Try contacting them before proceeding with anything
You would have to contact AT&T if they provided you with your device. As they will have the SIM unlock code and not Honor. If your device is branded by AT&T.

The thing that is absolutely weird is, honor 9 isn't available in the US, secondly it is an unlocked device (not sold locked by any carrier)

Unless AT&T managed to get the rights for the device to be sold by them.

Not any career in the us is selling the honor 9, he should contact honor first, they claim it is unlocked, so it should be unlocked

Honor 9 is carrier unlocked so the problem is really with your carrier.

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but have you got a 5G SIM tarrif? If you don't, maybe the option won't show up. I don't have the 5G device so can't replicate

Yes I have a 5g tarrif definitely. I can't get 5g because I think it's locked to Swisscom. The device was purchased from Switzerland. 4g is unlocked tho so it's strange.

It might be a simple £10 unlock or more complicated. I wouldn't like to think your paying for a tarrif you can't use.
Let me know how you get on. Use Webchat on Vodafone website to get advice

I tried man. I spoke to vodafone first. they had no idea why is was not working. I spoke to oppo and they did not know. I spoke to swisscom who said that the 5g is locked to thier service only. I dont think its a case of unlocking that. When i had android 9, there was no 5g option. There was just a Smart 5G toggle. I have no upgraded to android 10 and i have lost that. I cant even see 5g as on the options.
Baffling

Will Swisscom not help to unlock at all?

I bought it (used) from ebay who also provided the receipt showing it was bought from the swisscom store. I actually remember speaking to swisscom on whatsapp and i think they said that the 5G will work providing the frequencies match. As far as i know this phone has the frequency for vodafone 5G service so i am confused why its never worked.
I have given up on this. I just assumed if the phone is 5G and has the correct frequency there should be no issuue if the phone was not purchased in the UK. It is unlocked because i have used o2 and voda on it and it works fine. JUST NOT FOR 5G.
