From unzipping I see the BL is unchanged (03.75) new radio (03.85). Haven't installed yet. I'll wait for someone else to report on the security patch level.

Nah the Google Now Launcher is still there, but the rest of the UI actually looks sort of like the Pixel 2 now, and it's a lot faster and smoother. I installed it yesterday, and I have to say, coming from SuperXE ROM, I am very, very impressed with it!

battery life compared to 8.0?

Is 8.1 Beta going out yet via OTA - or just available now through download? I've been having real issues with Bluetooth on 8.0.0 with my car stereo - constantly reconnecting then, after about 40 seconds - losing connection. This goes on and on and on and never stops. I'm hoping the 8.1 install fixes this.

Android 8.0 introduced new control over BT devices and it's likely your car's head unit doesn't get along with the default audio codec- SBC. Look under Developer Options for a half dozen new BT settings. I would start by changing the BT audio codec first. Best of luck.

I apologize for the stupid question, do all of the notification curtains gray or should it be white? installed 8.1 without mods

I've tried playing with this setting before and, whenever I try changing the Bluetooth Audio Codec in the Developer Options my changes don't seem to "stick." Whenever I go back in its still showing streaming SBC and the setting shows as "Use System Selection (Default)". It doesn't seem to want to allow you to modify the setting.
I had Bluetooth issues galore in 8.0 Beta versions, which seemed to miraculously all go away when the final 8.0 was installed. But now, with monthly patches, I'm now experiencing new issues.

Yep, got it. Thanks a lot.
Love the OTA feature...should make getting future updates a breeze, yeah?
Initial experience...quite smooth and fast...will test battery life and other functionality next...what are your update plans for this seeing as CM12's updates are almost daily?

I installed the ROM and it will be my daily driver for sure. I am very satisfied with the stability. Battery life is under testing in the next days.
One bug: on the power menu the icon for the Profile menu is white on white.
I would really appreciate the following developments in the future:
- adding LGQpair
- addig QRemote
- adding multiwindow
- center clock
- full size extended status bar (navigation panel)
- horizontal quick settings (this would be the dream for me, I can help to theme the rubber)
- advanced reboot menu (recovery, bootloader)
Thanks in advance!
I am really amazed by the design of your website and work. Very mature work.
This looks interesting, going to have a look.
Thank you for bringing some more diversity to the gpad.

Hello! This looks like an interesting rom. I have an unofficial CM12 build installed which has the following issues and I was wondering if they are also present in this rom:
1) Is bluetooth working? On my rom, when I turn bluetooth on, it seems to search etc. but I can see no devices nor can other devices see me.
2) Is approximate/coarse location working properly? Currently, in order to get any kind of location awereness, I have to enable the High Accuracy mode, then coarse location works too (when indoors), apart from GPS. On battery save mode, no location can be acquired at all.
Anyone else experiencing problems with the auto-rotate function? Mine isn't working at all... Screen won't rotate from portrait

Cannot change network type from 2G to 3G or LTE
Hello Guys,
I am unable to change network type from 2G to 3G or LTE. I've tried everything I can think of like changing sim slots, reboot, etc.
Please suggest, is it a bug or is there a trick.
Thanks in advance
I am fully stock running OOS 3.0.2 and everything is much faster but I have one issue. Internet is working strange when I am connected to wifi. It has normal download speed but it is still "working" slow. I don't know how to describe that. When I go to Youtube for example and tap one video it will "load" video for long time before it starts but when video really start it will go normally without buffering and problems. Same thing with Instagram or any other app. When I go to instagram it will refresh posts for long time but once it has refreshed I could do everything else with normal speed.

This is a ViPER4Android 2.5.0.5 TWRP recovery Installation zip designed specifically for the Honor 8 device.
The ViPER4Android 2.5.0.5 apk will be installed to /system/priv-app/ViPER4Android and the driver will be preinstalled via the /system/lib/soundfx library and the appropriate entries into both audio_effects.conf files in /system/etc and /system/vendor/etc.
This is labeled "for Honor 8" because of the stock Honor 8 audio_effects.conf files being used in this recovery Installation zip so that I could have control of ViPER4Android in the effects chain.
Enforcing Selinux functionality requires SuperSU as the root management app for the /system/su.d/soundserver script to execute.
Simply flash and reboot. :good:

I try ARISE but I prefere stock Huawei music player. How to unistall It? I try with Solid browser but the app still appear in app string and the icon is in my home screen.
The problem is that the New music player rename Viper4Android to Viper4arise and stock player don't sound anymore.
Try to unistall the player and Viper4arise folder don't work. I had to restored a backup to have a working music player.
Another solution for futures issues??
Anyway, viper4android works great, makes honor 8 sound wonderful

No bugs so far!
The only reason why I changed from Adrian's Nougat ROMs (Lineage, AOSP), because wireless screen cast did not work in those with my PaPa 02 projector (actually, he has a CM 14.1 ROM, screencast works in that!). MoKee's screencast also works smoothly. (Actually, I like Mokee's ROMs, I tested his ROMs for both Alcatel OT 995 & Motorola Droid 4, found them pretty amazing.)

In the Release ROM there is the phenomenon of disconnecting the audio
when switching the mode of the handset to the speaker of the device.
This effect does not occur when playing system sounds in settings (Settings-> Sound-> Phone rington -> [media]).
There is only a short break.
This clearly indicates the error in the media server.
----edit----
The same error (feature) is in MoKee for Nexus 4.

You explain exactly what the problem is.
Caller id is not available in the Phone system application settings.
When the phone receives a call with the screen off, a normal view appears with a presentation of the caller's number.
is it only me who doesn't have hotplug option in kernel adiutor (same as lineage 14.1)? unfortunately ROM is incompatible with helium kernel so both cores are always on which means battery drain
Caller id Fade in during an incoming call and you must open the password for accessto caller id.

I've already found solution. I had to long press "Theme" button -> text style then I've chosed "Huawei font style" and bingo! Everything is fine. I'm just wondering, why EMUI lost original font...
Thanks guys. Just wondering, how's the battery holding?

Better than 180/185 !
Screen dimming in apps still not been sorted in Oreo, if anything it seems worst than what it was on B185 Nougat :/

Yep , they are not fixing it on purpose ! Will never get Huawei phone again with these bugs !
It's one annoying bug was hoping that Oreo would finally fix, but it seems to have gotten worst not better.
If Huawei don't sort this out soonish then i may consider getting rid of this phone & picking up a Nokia 8.
