Heyyo, did you create a new Google account or have an existing one that you forgot the password on?
Or did you buy this phone used and it's asking for the previous owner's Google account?

I have a similar question. I have my sister's Le 2 and its binded with her number (not email id) . whenever i try to factory reset it , it asks for a password. i have tried several times but every time there is server error. So should i wipe it via recovery and after it boots will it ask me to enter the binded account id and password again? additionally .. if i flash twrp and another rom will the phone still remain binded ? (will i be able to boot in other rom ? ) thank you in advance

Heyyo, hmm tbh I'm not too sure if it would or not... But the hurdle might be that you'd still need your sister's sim card or number in order to get into the phone and enable bootloader unlocking if it won't disable via fastboot.
Please try following this guide

I am able to use the phone with all apps and everything. I just want to factory reset it, but it wont let me unbind the account , even after entering correct password. Should i completely remove eui and flash custom rom ?

Heyyo, Yeah either a custom version of EUI ROM or any custom Nougat ROM. I would recommend avoiding the Oreo builds (Omni 8, AICP 13 or LineageOS 15) as they are very experimental for now with many bugs that need fixing.
I'm uncertain which custom EUI ROMs are the best as I've never tried them.
For custom Nougat ROMs? For stability and the only custom ROM with Google Certification for SafetyNet? OmniROM 7. It's built on the solid Darkobas kernel and has built in Dolby Atmos support and IR Blaster. All with selinux set as enforcing so your phone is as secure as possible. Imo it's the best custom ROM that andr68rus built for Nougat.
Otherwise? SlimRoms is another solid entry for a balance between stability and performance and it's still under active development. It does require Magisk root and for some even requires a Universal SafetyNet Fix.
There's others that try as many optimization and changes as possible over stability such as Ressurection Remix or BlackX if you want to try and have the fastest performance
So really it's up to you which one you want to try.

Thank you so much for such an detailed reply

You're welcome!
Hope you enjoy custom ROMs as much as I do

Just ruined my brand new tablet thanks to FRP. Can anyone help?

Hello,
I've got myself a tablet the other day. It's a Point of View TAB I847. Android 5.1
I was at a friends house and wanted to try the tablet. So I registered some random account at google because I couldn't remember the password of my own.
Today I resetted the device and wanted to start over with my actual account. Now I'm stuck at the point where I'm supposed to sign in with the account I've previously used with the tablet, and I couldn't remember the login to save my life.
Is there ANYTHING I can do? Even somehow figuring out the gmail account name I used would help me, because I remember the password.
PS: I'm very mad at google for activating this feature without telling me about it before I was resetting the device.
Did you do a factory reset using recovery? That should work if you haven't tried it yet
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA-Developers mobile app
@jantdroid solution would work for sure
Press volume up and power key simultaneously until phone boots and then release the power key. It make take up to 20sec to boot into recovery. Once in recovery, either choose a factory reset option or wipe user data (whatever option you get ).
Do a reboot after that, and it will be as if you're using it for first time
Hmm yeah I did that. I chose "wipe data/factory reset" and it does that. But once the device rebooted and I'm setting it up, Google asks me to log-in with the account that I have previously synched the device with (which I can't remember).
If you've a warranty, get to your retailer to get it fixed (carry your bill there )
If not, head over to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1838435, make sure you've the same device then and then only proceed to below step.
1.flash a custom recovery, reboot into recovery and do a full wipe.
Reboot, this time it should work.
2.thought, you won't require this, if you will, flash any custom rom and don't flash gapps. Boot the rom, setup your device and then reboot to recovery and flash the gapps and reboot. (This time google is out of your way )

This is basically the next step if the factory reset didn't work. I don't think the retailer will consider this problem as under warranty though.
It would be wise yo recover your google account by all means, backup email address, phone recovery pasword, etc.
If you're really out of hand of everything in trying to recover your google account.
Then that's the time you try to flash a custom recovery and/or flash a custom rom to regain access to your phone.

Thank you guys. I've contacted the dealer but they basically said that they can't help me. They don't take back locked devices either. This is the biggest case "not owner of my own device" I've ever experienced personally.
I'm trying to flash it now. Though I'm not sure how I'm going to "Enable debugging on device" without being able to access it
Also pretty sure it's not the same device(?). Mine is by Point Of View and produced in 2016 also known as "Mobii TAB-I847"
If you can't remember the credentials you used you have a problem:
http://www.pcnexus.net/2015/12/what...-google-72-hour-lockout-android-lollipop.html
I don't know this device but if there's a 4.4 rom for it, it could help you.

Oh well, I tried the stuff he shows in the video, but it seems they have fixed the "share" exploit. I managed to use the camera app from the lockscreen though! so that's a huge step forward
Purchasing a OTG now, might come in handy.
Also purchased a new tablet now because I've already spent too much time and energy on this. Might come back to it later though. GOOD GAME GOOGLE! Next time please ask if I want your silly protection feature, k?

Well that is one feature used in LL 5.1 and looks like it's just a mimic of iOS lockdown feature too. Flashing a ROM less than 5.1 just like KK will remove that lockdown. Goodluck on unlocking it again in the future. [emoji1]

How would I got about doing this though? I don't see a way to flash anything on to it without getting past the FRP first...
Also I can't seem to find a custom rom for this model. Or are there like generic ones? Sorry, I'm a noob in this field...
Sorry to say but your device is different so don't flash it.
Until something new to recover it, is found out you can go to mobile specialist to get your device qflash(ed). (This is same method by which a factory system is installed )

Thank you! This is interesting. I'm talking to the support of the company at the moment and they asked for the steps to reproduce it. Maybe there's a chance they can do something.

I will literally pay any of you to help me install a ROM system on my Le Max 2.

Add me on skype or email me - [email protected]
I'll pay you via paypall.
Instruct me step by step on what to do to open a bootloader and install the system like Miui9 or newest android - i have been struggling with it for like 5 hours.

Hello. Most of the things can be done for free. That's why community is for. Let us know where you got stuck, what you succeed and where you feel you can't go further.
In the beginning the version of your LeMax2, find it in About phone, then the ROM version (016s, 019s, or something like that).

I managed to bootload it once but now everytime it says that it can't find the device (i checked if i allowed everything).
You can try to follow this guide. If you don't want Lineageos just put a different ROM zip on your phone and flash it in step d.
Edit: I linked to guide for Lineage os 15. It's not yet a stable version. Best not install 15.
Heyyo, I'd recommend this guide here on XDA for the Le Max 2. It's what I used and it works amazing

As for custom ROM? I'd recommend OmniROM since it's the only one with Google certification for SafetyNet without the need of Magisk root and mods like Universal SafetyNet Fix. Imo it's the best ROM that andr68rus made for Nougat.
Otherwise? SlimRoms is still in active develop for Nougat and strikes a good balance of performance and stability.
There's also BlackX for optimization over stability if that's more your thing.

twrp for the cc9 wont work ?
Hello, I'm also waiting for twrp in order to root the phone. Is there any news about the release? The twrp of cc9e (if it's available) can work for mi a3?
Hello!
Well, it's possible to root without TWRP. I've done it already using Magisk manager to patch boot.img mannualy. There's a guide on Magisk XDA forum that explains how to do it.
But I had problems by doing this. First, after flashing the patched boot image, while rebooting, the phone went to Recovery and forced me to clear all user data. On second attempt, instead of "fastboot reboot" I've, instead, used "fastboot continue". The phone booted and Magisk was alive. But I've run to my second problem...lost my WiFi Mac Address and, without it, the phone lost the ability to connect to WiFi.
So I've reverted everything again by changing slot on fastboot to force the phone to boot on slot a (instead of b that was the one active by the time I've decided to try this method).
Since I was not in the mood for more trial and error, I've stopped my attempts here. The phone is now ok again, but without root.
If anyone is willing to try this method again, feel free to try yourselves if you want to. Here's a GitHub link to laurel_sprout_dump (where you'll get your hands on a stock boot.img / remove the spaces on the link):
h t t p s://github.com/AndroidDumps/xia omi_laurel_sprout_dump/tree/laurel_sprout-user-9-PKQ1.190416.001-V10.3.5.0.PFQEUXM-release-keys
But you've been warned. I run into the issues I've stated. It doesn't mean you'll run into those too but...still, you should only try this if you really know what you're doing. I've tried with boot.img from 10.3.4.0 branch. At the time there was only other branch (10.3.3.0). Now we have 10.3.5.0 as you may notice on the link. So I guess that one is good and legit (since it matches current version on my phone).
Oh, BTW, the phone boot time was increased when Magisk was active....
Good luck.
Cheers!

1st time ever Android owner gets a Redmi K30 Ultra and wants to install Magisk. Help!

Hello very friendly helping people!
Im a 10 year iPhone user, but over time i came to hate all the restrictions and so i got myself a K30 Ultra and later today it should finally arrive!
Unfortunately i found out that it doesnt check the Google SafetyNet thingy and i can't use Google Pay with it. That kinda sucks, I never thought about stuff like this on iOS, but I'm confident there is a solution for it.
I found out about rooting my device, but it somehow isn't possible because of the Mediatek chip. But then I also found out that apperenty there IS a way to use the program/thingy that makes the phone pass SafetyNet (Magisk) without the need of a custom ROM.
I'm sorry if im confusing words like rooting im very noobish about all this.
So here are my questions in short form:
1. Can I make Google Pay Work in any way on my Redmi K30 Ultra?
2. Does this also affect my banking apps (I'm using DKB and Kontist) and can this be solved, too?
3. Could you link me some guides how to do it?
4. Is there any danger doing it (like deleting my phone if it doesnt work) and is there a possibility to safe my device on the PC or something like this to be safe?
5. Are their any safety concerns doing "it" (not sure what the solution will be) and should I install an anti virus program on the device? I just read about the cerberus trojan and its kinda scary. I think iOS systems were always pretty safe against those.
6. Anything else i need to know?
Thank you so much! I appreciate it a lot that there is a place where i can go to get help on those things! <3
Google Pay and any other banking apps refuse to work when a rooted Android gets detected by them. BTW: SafetyNet API doesn't purely check whether the device's Android is rooted, as the API is designed to check the overall integrity of device's Android.

Hey, thanks for your post!
Are you implying that there is no way around that and its doomed to forever not work on my device?
To clarify things: SafetyNet is run by an app that has implemented this API, it's not run by Android OS itself. Yes, Magisk allows you to lever out this test by manipulating device's fingerprint so you will possibly be able to use Google Pay etc.pp
FYI: Any app not having SafetyNet API implemented easily can check whether Android got rooted / tampered or not. The app simply runs functions like
Code:
isRootNative
isDetectedDevKeys
isDetectedTestKeys
isFoundBusyboxBinary
isFoundDangerousProps
isFoundHooks
isFoundResetprop
isFoundSuBinary
isFoundWrongPathPermission
isFoundXposed
isNotFoundReleaseKeys
isPermissiveSelinux
isSuExists
isMagiskSUExists
isFoundMagisk
isFoundRootCloakingApps
what can't get prevented by Magisk.

How to install Magisk without a Custom ROM is explained here.
If a Custom ROM like TWRP isn't officially made public for your device then you have to compile TWRP at your own.
This is TWRP and Magisk for the latest firmware on the K30 Ultra. https://mifirm.net/downloadtwrp/166
---------- Post added at 07:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:37 PM ----------
Google Pay on a rooted device with Magisk installed /is/ possible, my Galaxy Note 9 with Dr. Ketan's ROM works with Google Pay and I believe it's due to the CTS Profile fix which is available in its ROM Tool app. So there's going to be some way to make it work with the K30 Ultra.

And do I install that with the guide linked above or do I need some certain skill and experience to do that. It says it isn't tested yet. If I do a mirror of my phone before nothing really bad can happen right?

Yeah the only think that failed SafetyNet Test is the "CTS profile match". But I can't use those roms for my K30 ultra, right, so I just do it with Magisk?
Thanks so much!!
You need to unlock your bootloader with the Mi Unlock tool then flash TWRP over fastboot, and in TWRP make the appropriate backups and flash Magisk. There's many guides and it's relatively straight forward.
K30 Ultra is basically a brand new phone, it's like a month old. It'll be a while but keep an eye on XDA Forums, on the internet, and on YouTube. Somebody will eventually describe or figure out how to fix the CTS Profile.
I think I'm not gonna modify mine and I'll just wear my Apple Watch to use it for contactless payments.

Alright, so I read 12384 guides and had a very tiny sense of it. The Mi Unlock tool stopped me, though, and now I'll have to wait another 6 days.
As I understood it, my data will be erased, but can be just be restored by MIUI if backed up before. I'm gonna let you know how it worked after I'll do it in about a week.
Probably I won't have to patience to wait. Google Pay is a really nice to have, but neither voLTE, nor voWifi works on my device, so I for sure have do hack that some weird way, because i have no mobile network at all at home and absolutely need voWifi.
Thank you very much for your kind help! <3
No problem at all.
I'm not sure if Wifi-Calling (voWifi) works with my carrier as I've turned it on with the carrier and in the phone, and it doesn't seem to be making calls over wifi. Not a big deal for me though as I've got Unlimited calls with my carrier.
Please let us know if and when you do flash the TWRP as I'd like feedback before flashing it myself.
Do your banking apps refuse to work or is it only google pay that fails due to the safetynet fail?

Yeah, me too, but I have a very bad connection in my flat so I do need voWifi anyway. I will let you know and hope I won't brick my device. But as I understand it, bricking the device just by flashing twrp is very unlikely, right?

Only Google Pay, both of my banking apps work perfectly. I couldnt scan the security bar code though, some internal google app wouldn't allow it. So i had to put in both the (very long) idendification and security numbers in manually.
Alright thanks. Another thing im interested in is if Snapchat works when safetynet fails. Did you do any tests regarding that?

Not using Snapchat, but I just installed it and it starts without problems. Didn't made an account though.
So I'm gonna be able to flash twrp and Magisk in exactly 14 hours and have some questions i would really appreciate an answer to <3
Using this: https://mifirm.net/downloadtwrp/166
1. The thing i want to flash first is twrp and it is the file called "recovery.img" in the downloaded folder, is that correct?
2. Just flashing twrp is "relatively" safe and if I do a backup and the device bricks by installing Magsik after, i can recover it through twrp, correct?
3. Should I not install todays new security update to MIUI or does that not matter at all?
edit: 4. Do I need/want to have "USB debugging", "Install via USB" and "USBebugging (Security Settings)" enabled or just "OEM unlocking"?
Thank you so much! I'm very nervous since i didn't read any experiences of rooting the K30 Ultra before and I'm scared of killing it.
Hey Mirardt, good luck. Let us know how you get on!
1. Yeah, you'll use fastboot to flash the recovery.img for TWRP.
2. Do a full backup with TWRP and you should be safe.
3. Doesn't matter, it's just the September Android security update.
4. Yeah turn on USB Debugging and connect your phone to your computer - it will ask you if you want to allow this computer to debug your phone, choose accept and always (or something similar to those words.) Do this before flashing TWRP.

I'm VERY sorry for the noobish questions.
I'm going to quickly use this thread to ask how to actually unlock the K30 Ultra Bootloader. I did everything the guides said, but Mi Unlock still doesn't recognize the phone when it's plugged in. Any Advice?
Hey guys (especially JaboJG). quick update: Flashing twrp and Magsik both just worked perfectly. no brick. Thanks for your help!!
The only issue is that it didnt help in passing Google Safety Check. I tried almost everything there is and will post my logs of MagiskHide Props in their thread soon.
Also, now some apps don't work anymore because they detect the root. I hope we will find a fix.

Question Protect the recovery with a password [TWRP / OrangeFox] - disavle or protect the factory reset

Good morning,
I allow myself to write this message because I have several questions, after having rooted my phone.
1) I would like to know how to protect the recovery with a password. Currently I have TWRP but I couldn't find anywhere how to put a password.
I heard about OrangeFox but I couldn't find any version compatible with the Xiaomi 12T Pro.
2) I would like to know how to disable or password protect the factory reset of the phone or how to have a personalized factory reset.
3) I heard about "EliteROM", what does it add to the phone?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Just put a pin code on the lock screen (for example).
TWRP.

Thank you for your feedback, how to do this? How to put a pin code on the lock screen of TWRP, I did not succeed.
Not on the TWRP but on the phone's lock screen (this will encrypt your data and you will be asked for the code on the TWRP).
Settings/passwords and security
Use the latest version of TWRP.

Not on the TWRP but on the phone's lock screen (this will encrypt your data and you will be asked for the code on the TWRP).
Settings/passwords and security
Use the latest version of TWRP.

Ok but I want to have a different code than the phone itself.
Otherwise how to have a factory reset with a custom configuration and applications already installed?

It's not possible to create some sort of custom ROM that would become the new factory format with a set configuration?

There is backup with TWRP but not 100% guaranteed.
1) there is no point in protecting recovery with password.
2) not possible to prevent factory reset. everyone with physical access can flash anything.

Ok it's just a matter of security so you can't do a factory reset without a pc. So there is no solution?

Why doesn't TWRP have password protection?
I’ve had people ask enough for a protected TWRP that I’m creating this page as a response so I don’t have to retype. If you’re seeing this page, you’re proba...

In short: It doesn't make sense because TWRP can be substituted by another custom recovery without a password protection. And then your protection is deactivated.
for privacy security consider encryption
Some Samsung phones won't start recovery until an USB connection is established. This can be a cable connection to a desktop PC, notebook, TV etc. or some certain usb devices. But it's unique for Samsung devices. Any other Android device only needs the key combo to boot into recovery.
