Here's a thread to help p2 users know which substratum themes are working on our pixel xl 2's with andromeda. Post your pics and setup combos.
Im am using swift dark for everything with icon accents enabled, except I used sprite to move the clock to the left. So far the few oreo compatible themes i have tried worked no problem. Just make sure you don't try an out of date theme for system ui mods.
I did the system stuff like toggles and settings. Found that apps update too often and with overlays they often crash on open. Can't have it be that unreliable.
In particular N Navbar Pro dark gray should cut back on burn in concerns.
Swift dark or black seems pretty good though, lots of maintenance and covers a lot of apps.

November update fixes the Navbar burn in. Grays out when an app is opened.
I just loaded Swift dark on my rooted Pixel 2xl. Looking pretty flawless so far.

They didn't. I tried a couple of them, and there is that outer circle around the home button. recent and back are fine!

Mono/art. Icon theme is Viral
So I installed flux dark theme from the play store and my system ui crashed and the phone give me an error saying. Can not boot please try again or do a factory reset. And I had to do a factory reset. Just a heads up be careful! I'm on 8.1 beta.

You definitely mentioned that in the other response. Sorry about that... Anyway, how did you apply it? In the app I don't see Oreo or pixel launcher when it asks which. Or did you apply it in substratum? Sorry, a little new with some of this.

Lol no worries man. I use Nova launcher. I applied it through there.
swift black works pretty well, and covers many apps

Ah, gotcha. I guess it probably doesn't work with the stock launcher since it's not listed. Bummer. Thanks anyway!

Do any of you know of good CM7 themes (besides HoneyBread, which I already have installed) which have the right screen size assets for the NC? All the ones on the market are for lower density screens and look like crap on the NC.
gingerblurr is what i use and its sexy, i dont know if its just me but i have to reboot after applyin a theme in the theme manager to be able to fully see all items

You always have to reboot after applying a new theme. Most apk's in the market mention that in the description section.
Where can I find gingerblur? it's not in the market as far as i can tell..

They will all work. Some may have blurry icons and such but each one will work on the nook color. I am rocking the "Steel Blue" Theme and I am loving it.

This is a known issue with the theme changer. You can download an app in the market, "Notification Restart", that will allow you to restart the notification bar and reset the power widget. This saves you a reboot.
Edit: Forgot you can download the apk directly from the previously linked theme chooser post too.

I've been having an issue lately with applying themes (phiremod 6.2). I've tried a bunch, and they're all sexy... but anytime I apply a theme I find that the sizing for the softkeys in notification bar is off. It resizes the bar fine, but when I go to touch the "button" I have to hit really high on the area its in in order to get a response. If I push right over it, there's no action/response.
I've tried rebooting after applying, no luck. Screen calibration can't be off because everything else touch related works fine. Any ideas? Anythinig I can tweak in the theme to have it stretch/function properly?

Blue Bionic is cool on the Nook. It has the Honeycomb styled soft TabletTweeks buttons, that are specific to the Nook w/CM7 but in a brighter blue so they contrast nicely for visibility.
for those of you who dont wanna reboot your device after applying a theme from theme chooser then get notification restart from the android market it restarts your status bar so the new changes will take effect without rebooting your device and for the icons to change just restart your launcher

In case you hated the settings menu, and wanted it black! Well here you go. This method will require root access as well as xposed framework.
Steps
1. Search in xposed for holo themer and install it and enable it.
2. Open the holo themer app and scroll all the way down to settings.
3. Tap settings and chose holo dark and hit save.
4. Open settings menu and it should be black now!
Note:
1. This may as work with any app you choose.
2. May require paid version of app in play store.
3. I am not responsible for breaking your device as this is an xposed module.

Yeah I tried to make the bubble gum colors gone but it didnt work. I will try to find a way to do so.
This is real neat, hated that stupid samsung color, thanks!
Only issue I've encountered is the "Adapt display" popup menu which bugs out.

I have Andromeda, Sungstratum, all that stuff installed.
Yes but it took a while to find out how it worked. I'm rooted BTW so I don't need Andromeda.
Compile & activate the theme.
Reboot.
Go to substratum - manager
Activate all overlays again
Reboot

How do you root CRA1?
Just recently got the manual Oreo CRA1 update coming from Nougat on T-Mobile S8+. It is incredibly quicker and much more fluid.
On Substratum I'm on Swift Black Complete Edition, along with Material Black from Samsung Themes. On Nougat that worked buy using the "Sungstratum" add on from the Play Store. When I upgrade to Oreo 8.0, I was no longer able to see Sungstratum in the Play Store. Instead, Substratum asked for another plug-in to allow it to run fully, Andromeda. So of course, had to buy that too.
But anyway, it's working nice. Visually that is. After finally being able to set it up to where I need it. Although, I am only still trying to figure out how to get a dark overlay for the notification card. Haven't figured that out yet.
You will have installation issues of overlays if you upgrade to Oreo CRA1 because of the new different plug-in used to activate Substratum. In my case, here is what I had to do when I installed a new overlay from a new theme. The symptom is, I install an overlay, but it doesn't show in under the "Manager" tab. Only under the theme and in the orange color, so it's saying that it's disabled. No matter however many times I select the overlay and choose options and re-enable overlay OR change overlay status, nothing happens.
What I had to do was simply restart the phone, run the Andromeda client from my computer and then go back to the overlay in Substratum and enable it, only then does it enable and turn green. The overlay actually installls this time.
I hate that part. Sucks for when trying and messing with new overlays just to try them out, makes the whole process just a freaking hassle.
Now, to the real question. You know how to get dark notification cards? Maybe dark notification tiles for the lock screen ?? that would be awesome.

I'm using the Coffee theme that crayonyes has in the forums for my blacked out settings and notifications. Then using Andromeda for middle clock, nav bar, blacked out apps, etc. Working great so far.

Yep. Search Coffee in the forums and install it. It will then be in your Samsung themes to apply. It will black out your settings, phone, contacts and notifications. The QS Tile color comes from the coffee theme. The actual icons are from a Substratum theme.

I've had no problems. I would disable your overlays before you apply coffee. Apply coffee and see if the notifications are blacked out. If they are Grey change the resolution on your display back and forth and see of that fixes it. If that doesn't rebooting should fix it. The only minor drawback to this theme is that Samsung wants to kill it after it's been applied for 10 minutes. To stop that from happening once you get the theme working properly go in to developer options and stop the themes app. Then go in to settings-Apps-Enable system apps and clear cache and data for the Samsung themes app and the themes app. It seems like a lot of work but once you've done it a few times it only takes a minute or 2. Any time you reboot your phone you will have to redo that process. Hope it works out for you. Reach out with any other questions.

Please guide me I am using S8 exynos variant with orea ota but hand'nt had any luck in installing substratum on this phone. I have both substratum and andromeda installed and bought via playstore.

This method worked for me. I agree this is annoying to have to restart the phone connect to the pc and run the andromeda application then go back in substratum and enable the overlays just to see the changes. But if you want it you'll do it

I'm on oreo an substratum wont work with out andromeda. If your not on oreo then you probably don't need andromeda

You mean change the icons? There are pixel/aosp themes just Google them... Also dark themes available... Emui8 themes work just fine with emui9. Also you can edit those icons with the EMUI theme editor from the play store

Looking forward to your themes, mark. The LG themes, especially the G7 ones, were amazing.
Basically the whole phone go "dark" after we enabled dark mode in battery settings.
And yes, including the toggles.
However, for messaging app. You will need to switch it to dark mode manually in the top right setting icon.
Don't think we will need a dark theme for this one.
Tried the dark mode. However, anyone still getting a white 'light' navigation bar even when using dark mode? Especially when using apps, etc.
Yup, just waiting for a decent dark theme like everyone else.
I wake in the early hours, so need a theme that doesn't burn my retinas.

Tried Navbar Apps. However, I'm guessing the task manager keeps killing the app.
Did realise for some apps, after an update, the task bar stays dark. So it might be individual apps having to update.

Is anyone currently using a theme besides the in house dark mode right now? Specifically not one that just does icons. Before I start tinkering I wouldn't mind trying something out to tide me over. And I guess I want to get confirmation that themes even work and that Huawei didn't block them or something ridiculous.
Themes do work and Theme Editor for EMUI works, too, kind off, doesn't support EMUI 9 yet, you have to make do with 8.
I'm just using Theme Editor for Icons and Fonts and KLWP to get my Homescreen to look like I want it.

Hmmm I hadn't been able to get any full themes to work at all. But I'm thinking maybe it's because I had a crappy themes app installed by default. Once I installed app gallery it updated the themes app and it has way more options now. That might be why. But the ones I tried last night from Google Play prior to this only changed the icons. They were for emui8 which I understand likely won't work in everything but none of them did anything. May have to try again with new themes app
Ok so for fun I did try a couple emui 8 themes and it looks we can theme everything. Mind you none of them worked well. So I'm hoping to start making something. But first I gotta figure out why I can't decompile any system apps. Everything errors out so that's a bit of an issue

Hey bud, haven't seen ya in a while. Guess I'll post mine next week.... Yep... I pulled the trigger on this last week after I returned my mate 20 pro. Guess that also means I'm gonna have to make something!

Stopped rooting after the G6 so haven't been around.. Cracked the G6 screen and got stuck with it for a while too. Then went to the V30 for a couple of months until this dropped. I love this phone. Will definitely need some of your themes for it.

Ok so I've got something working that's pretty cool I think!
Here's a few pics of it. I'll let you guess what it is! Had to do a separate version for V40 because all the other versions crash on it.
And separately here's an icon pack I've been working on that I may or may not add to a theme. Haven't decided yet. But for now they're a standalone pack for lg home with adaptive options and also additional adaptive icon shapes unlocked!
