Hi, how is this project going? I would love to try 7.1.1 on my J3 when possible!
So far so good! Im still having tiny bootup problems though... The wifi and data don't work yet.. I'll probably have to create a custom kernel to get this working....
Do you need testers?

Hi guys, I managed to succesfuly port A5 2015 6.0.1 firmware and its AWESOME. It has a hybrid lollipop-kitkat UI, and alot of kitkat apps, even the old Camera! Also private mode is there. Here are some 4K pictures that i took:

Even the a5ux is fast with kraken kernel and some tweaks in Kernel aduitor app

Probably when LineageOS 15 is up, the other ROMs based on LineageOS will be at 8.0
Now to the other roms, they have to update themselves to 8.0 (for example CAF or AOSP)
Anyways, don't expect this soon

Just because other devices run Oreo doesn't mean other devices will get it quick.
let us all appreciate all the work bruno martins (bgcmgm) has done for our device...
lineageos 14 works amazingly well and lineageos15 is in works and will be ready ......
atleast we will get updates for los14 until a usable version of los15 is released...
But how are AOSP roms doing?
Looks like mi5s and plus have got Oreo too even though their user base is smaller ...

Sir, Tell me how to get Nougat to boot? Im a GrandPrime (MSM8916 chip itself) user and ive build the zip (which is about 700mb) using our 7.1.1 AOSP N kernel from LOS 14.1 but the ROM's (J500FN 7.1.1 ROM from SAMMobile) stuck at the splash screen. Could you help me with it? Thanks!
[And ive used all the other files required for port from my stock 5.0.2 (unfortunately thats our final official Samsung Firmware) from the /system folder.]

LineageOS is made by volunteer maintainers & developers & nobody including them can predict how long it will take to fix bugs & technical difficulties of making a modern Oreo firmware for a 2012 S3 phone made to support Samsung's Android 4.0.4 and with the last Samsung officially supported 4.3.
Check LineageOS Oreo Device Support Requirements "This document enumerates the requirements that must be met in order for devices to be deemed ship ready for LineageOS releases, beginning with Android Oreo" to get an idea of how big that task is.

Well, to be honest, no device tree for the latest Samsung devices are present only TWRP can be seen ... So will take a long enough for device specific development however you can still flash GSI's Including android q beta gsi I am kinda busy today so don't expect this guide to be ready today

Hi sahil.. i got 2 questions. When do you expect device specific devt for the samsung a70?
I assume we could flash beta q gsi on the samsung a70. But youre saying its not specific for this phone buf a port... is that right bro?
Would love to see Android Q beta on our M30, hope you have a guide ready!
