Unlocking multiple devices using the same mi account - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Recently I bought 2 phones.
I added both to the same account and successfully unlocked the first one.
In order to unlock another one I have to wait 30 days.
I could try to create another mi account to unlock the second device, but I am afraid that it would permanently prevent me from unlocking it.
Please, let me know what do you think. Do I really have to wait that long?

The best way is to write down your current mi account username n' password and remove it from your device, reboot.
Next, make another one and request Xiaomi to get permissions for unlocking. Or you'll have to wait 30 days with the current one as you explained.

Could you confirm that removing the mi account from the device and reapplying for unlock permission with the new one is safe?
I have already tried to unlock my device and I am afraid that it would be blacklisted for the unlock on xiaomi server if used with another account.

Nah. You can make new one and reapply for permissions.

How to remove the mi account from the device?
I tried to reset device to default, but on the first boot it is back to the way it was before.
If anyone has done it, please share your experience.

We have 3 devices which would mean waiting for 15+30+30 days I can create 3 accounts for reducing the complete waiting time to 15 days in parallel. But this seems to require 3 SIM-Cards as well while I only have one. Otherwise the unlock tool says "Your account isn't associated with a phone number." Now that I attached my SIM-Card to the 2nd Mi Account and starting the next 15 days waiting period, the number was removed from the first one and I'm not sure if I can re-migrate the number back to the 1st account later without starting another 15 or 30 days.
This is very annoying, as I can't wait several month before using the devices with our Custom Rom.

Can't use MIUI due to mi account

I'm not able to use MIUI anymore because of the inability to enter my mi account's password.
So a month ago, I created a new mi account by using my phone number cuz i was not able to unlock my bootloader officially. I then did a factory reset but now whenever i start my phone, it asks for Mi account verification password... So even when i enter the password, it shows incorrect password and i cant get past this part so I'm stuck at this startup screen and cant use my phone at all. I even tried resetting my account password but it says "You've exceeded the number of verification attempts allowed within 24 hours." even after waiting for 24 hours before another attempt. It still shows the same error after a month. I think the reason is not verifying the new number after creating mi account.
I would like to add that I've tried contacting Xiaomi customer service quite a few times but they were of no use so I flashed an early MIUI firmware and i was able to access my phone but it was showing no IMEI number so I unofficially unlocked my bootloader and installed CM13. I'm now on LOS14.1 but wanna switch back to MIUI cuz of camera quality. So is there any way that I can use MIUI ever again?
Please help
Try this. Take out your SIM card and don't enable WiFi at the setup screen. It should bypass the account login page.

I tried that as well but it seems that this mi account thing registers itself with the IMEI number so no matter what I do, it asks for the password in the startup.

I really don't know how Xiaomi expect you to login through their system without any SIM/data or WiFi connection.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Don't have Wi-Fi right now so I'll have to wait for few days I guess.
One question though: After flashing with the oldest firmware, I lose IMEI so do I need to update through Wi-Fi and then create a new mi account?

I had that one, too. You need to set your nickname for MIUI forum. Just log in to your account on the forum (http://en.miui.com/forum.php). You will be asked to choose the name. After you do so. Try to ask for unlock again. It should work now.
Actually i was logging in using my old account created before i purchased my device (created using email address) and account crated in my device was using my mobile no. Due to which i was unable to apply but now successfully applied using device account. Thank you for help
I get the same thing. with redirect to chinese page. since i'm using chrome browser, so i use chrome translate feature, so I the two different messages were translated. it keeps switching between the two pages, but managed to see the translated messages. They're currently upgrading system thus request of application is being put on hold/blocked.

haha. found out solution. you need to login with your account to MIUI forum app (search in Play Store) and login with your newly created account, you will need to create a nickname. Please ensure you get to a page in the forum app that says you've earned 4 experiences for your first login. then try again applying for unlocking permission.

3 devices per account maximum. Maybe you exeded your limit.
Well, I didnt know that about 3 devices limit per 1 account. I've unlocked 3 devices till now so that is the issue. THank you!
1st download miunlock tool, then extract and run it..,sign in .
2nd when it is shown that you r device is not supported by mi unlock, click go..and click mi unlock, and sign in there too
3rd the page will redirect to some page, that will ask you for a username,if you choose suitable username, the, sad emoji will not appear again, then you will be redirected to miui forum, which is in chineese,u have to manulayy make it in english,by clicking at top left corner, englisg forum, and then when english forum comes, click sign in and you r all set,
finally when you click go from mi unlock tool, and then miui unlock from official page...you will be redirected to your requet intended page......chilll bro

I saw this thread was brought back from the dead, and I just saw this post. Are you serious???
I thought it was 1 unlock for 1 device per month... and even that's pushing it. It's hard enough to get an unlock as it is and they just went and made it 5 times harder with this nonsense. The Note 4 may be my first and last Xiaomi phone...

Apply for unlock
So i saw a lot of videos of people applying to unlock the bootloarder of thier Xiaomi phones by going to the unlock page click the blue unlock button and then they get redirected to put their account with phone number so they can receive one SMS from xiaomi when the unlock approval is done, i have a Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus from Mexico and when i try to go to this so called page to put my phone number and apply for unlocking i always go redirected to download the Mi Unlock Tool first.... i cant find any page now to put my number and wait for Xiaomi to send me that so called SMS.
My question is if i download the Unlock Tool and connect the phone in fastboot to try to unlock it just as the web page is telling me right now, am i going to have the phone plugged in until the process of unlocking finishes, the whole 15 days? (I know it sounds stupid but i am new to this)

First, applied for bootloader unlock successfully?
OK, now wait for their approval, ok.
Approved?
Then, DL MI_Unlock tool, try to unlock your device by signing in your mi account, you might get error or some hours of time to unlock your device, that means, you've to wait until few days to unlock, until then you just enjoy MIUI ??

Couldn't unlock. After 72 hours of trying to unlock

After 72 hours required by the Xiaomi tool. It is still not possible to unlock the bootloader of my Pocophone F1. I'm with find device enabled, sync enabled, OEM unlock enabled, USB debugging enabled and Mi account connected. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please tell me.
PS: My ROM is MIUI 10 Global Beta v8.12.7
That's weird. Have you tried unlocking when the 72 hours weren't over yet? Because if you try to it should show the amount of hours remaining. If it never showed that while trying to unlock within the 72h period it might be another problem. Maybe you can run the chinese text trough google translate, with a tool that converts an image to text (don't know of any but they probably exist).

Register your device phone number first from developer options. That might solve it.
In the new version of Mi Unlock says in English that I need to use my device for a few more days to be able to unlock the bootloader. But it does not say exactly how long, slowly I'm trying.

Try rebooting a few times. Add a fingerprint if you haven't already. Sync with Mi Cloud every time after you reboot. These things could add to your "usage score".

You are supposed to use the phone normally after making the request for bootloader unlock. Please also note that you should be logged into your mi account in your phone all the time. If you do that and also do a few syncs as suggested by another member, you are sure to get approved. There is no other way, you have to wait.

I reverted to my old phone after I made the unlock bootloader request and I was not logged in to my Mi account the whole time. I switched on the Poco about 2 weeks later and was able to unlock the bootloader with no problems. The trick for the OP is to not only register your email with your Mi account but also your phone number through settings.
I think that's what he is missing.

I'm pretty sure that's what he is missing. Solid advice.
If the above methods don't work, then just factory reset your device and repeat the steps! I'm sure it'll work
Had the same problem.
Unbounded my account and loged in again on the phone.
Now the tool works and i'm unlocked...
Try toggling off the OEM Unlock setting then toggle it on again.
I'm facing the same problem, I requested for unlock last weekend, tried yesterday to unlock (as well over the 72 hours) & was notified that I need to try again in 1 day. I also tried the various suggestions here, but nothing helped/worked.

If it is asking you to wait for a day? I suggest to wait for a day, bottomline is there is no alternate to it, as far as I saw, go step by step, shall wait and see, should work fine
Best to insert the sim card to poco phone and using it for there days after bootloader unlock applied.

[Solved]China K20 Pro - Relocked - 30 Days Limit - India Rom - System destroyed

PLEASE ANSWER THE QUESTION AT THE END
Hello everyone.
Following is the list of events:
1. Got the China K20 Pro with China Rom.
2. Unlocked the bootloader the normal way.
3. Flashed Indian Rom but accidentally left "Clean and lock" checked.
4. Phone was not booting because it said "This version of MIUI cant be used etc".
5. Tried to recover with MIAssist .
6. Now phone says "System has been destroyed" .
Now when I try to unlock it again it Mi Unlock tool says ""Wait 30 days"
I just want to ask the community.
QUESTION : Will I be able to unlock this phone again after 30 days using the same account I used the first time?
DID MY ACCOUNT REMAIN BINDED TO THE PHONE AFTER THE UNLOCK?
I want to unlock it and flash it with Mi Flash tool.
Thank you for reading.

In theory you should be OK to unlock the phone, otherwise at this point, you would get that error now and not see the wait 30 days to unlock message.
However those people that have done the same as you and posted on here have used the test point method to boot into EDL mode and then flash via an authorised account. I'm not aware that anyway has had the patience to wait the 30 days to see if they can unlock.

I have exactly the same experience with your device last 2 months ago. I just got lucky because it was last days of the month 29th day. Tried to unlock again the on the 1st day of the the next month and unlocking bootloader was successful.
You can still unlock it using the same mi account.
Flashed again indian ROM thru fastboot but just choose clean all.

YES!
1. It was already binded with the mi account the first time i flashed it and experience bricked. No option to boot the system.
2. Unlock again same account. Successfully unlocked bootloader.
3. Flashed again (clean all only) with indian ROM, phone successfully booted normally.

That message is just because you can only unlock one phone a month with a standard MIUI account.
Because you've already unlocked a phone this month you'll see that message for any phone you try and unlock before 1st November

If you flashed it and bricked it this October then By November try to unlock it again and hopefully unlocking will be successfull. Then flash again with your preferred rom.

And I realllllllyyy dont want to disassemble my new phone . So im gonna take the chance
Ok.. so this is what happened to me some days ago..
•Use old miUnlock tool(to bypass 30days timer)
• Use "MiFlash tool pro" to flash firmware. (you don't need to go in EDL mode because it flashes from fastboot mode.)
Keep in mind do not select 'Clean and lock again' xD

Question Unlock Bootloader

Hello Everyone,
I bough this Redmi Note 10 with screen broken, so I replaced the screen for an OLED new one, I wiped out the data and now I`m getting this Mi Account Lock screen.
The guy who sold the phone to me has deleted this account a long time ago, so I don`t have more access to this. I tried out a lot of methods to bypass and/or remove this lock screen but none of them worked.
So I`m thinking the best solution for this is to Unlock the bootloader and flash a Custom ROM like Pixel Experience for example.
What do you think about it ? Is it possible to unlock it using EDL mode or something like that ?
I think the best course of action for you will be to unlock the bootloader
Ok, So I'm gonna try it. Do you have any idea of how to do it within the EDL mode in this phone ?
Cause I've tried to search for it, and I found it, but only for other xiaomi phones.
There is only one way to unlock bootlader for all Xiaomi phones and it requires MI Unlock software (there is an unofficial alternative for Linux but it requires a bit more of work).
As far as I know to unlock bootloader the phone needs to be previuosly associated to your Mi account, so I'm not sure how you are going to do that.

I'm a Linux user so I think I can go ahead with this tool. What tool is this ?
It's just an unofficial version that runs on Linux, you still need the phone to be associated to a Mi account.
This is the one I used

That protection is there for a reason, even if you claim you're the legit owner.
No, you can't unlock if you can't boot to the system.
Best and legit way is to reset the password first in the Mi Account from i.mi.com, use any email/phone number that was used to register the account. Then remove the device from that account. Connect the device to wifi and use the new password to unlock the phone.
I don't think even local Xiaomi service center would agree to reset the phone unless you bring the legit invoice from the first purchase.
I agree with x3r0.13urn. Just in other words: If the previous owner doesn't give you access to unlock the bootloader, you can only use the phone for spare parts (Mi bill or proof of purchase with IMEI marked).

The guy who sold the phone to me has deleted this account a long time ago

If what the guy said is true, should not the phone be automatically removed from that account?
I don't really know since I never tried.
I don't think so. Deleting the entire account is not that easy, if he has a registered device, it's not even possible.
He does not remember his login details or is no longer willing to do anything about it.
Hi,
Here is a great way to do it. Worked very well for me!
