Searching for a little help with my BQ U lite. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, hello everyone. i'm new here.
This is the first time i post something and it's because i don't find any solution to my problem.
I have a BQ U lite with android 7.1.1, security patch august 2017, stock recovery, locked bootloader, and can't acces to development options to enable usb debugging or oem unlock.
The thing is that a friend bought this mobile phone and when he turned on it was blocked by the FRP google lock. He doesn't have any document of the buying procces or anything like that. I've been trying to do everymethod i know to unlock this. The first method i used of the one that uses quick shortcut maker right after i got into google chrome navigator. That method goes like this:
-Install Google Account Manager acording to your android version (mine is 7.1.1)
-Install and open QuickShortcutMaker
-Search Google Account Manager section
-press the option where should be the "enter email and password" text
I can't because there is only written "Error"
After that i tryed the test dpc method which ended in a message saying that it was blocked and that i couldnt change the user or something like that.
I thought about using ADB methods like the one envolving commands like "fastboot oem unlock" but i can't because my device is TOTALLY locked and idk what to do with it.
I tryed to downgrade android or the google account manager to earlier versions but i just can't do anything.
I would like to know if i should throw this mobile phone by the window or if there is any hope for me. Thanks for the help and i hope this post is not eliminated.

[Q] Is there an alternative to the Asus UnLock Device App?

I was just given a tf201 in excellent condition, running stock Jelly Bean 4.1.1.
I have it rooted; but, also want to unlock the bootloader, so I can put a better ROM on it.
Every video or forum thread I have found says to use the Asus UnLock Device App v6.
A few threads say that it now only supports ICS; and, that may be the root of my problem:
Despite following every recommended step for installation and unlock, the Unlock Device App will not recognize my Google Password (a requirement). I do not use 2-step authentication, I went into Google Settings, and changed "Allow less secure apps" to 'ON'. I even changed my password, deleted/recreated my account in the tablet. Despite all of this, the Unlock Device App will not accept my Google Password...and, won't unlock the Transformer Prime.
Does anyone know of an alternative method to unlock the tablet; or, or a 'fix' for my Google Password issue?
Thanks, in advance!

EDIT: Everything I've read says the unlock tool is the only option. The serial number on the device apparently gets checked against a database in the Asus China servers, which unlocks encryption so the bootloader can be unlocked.
I had a similar experience when I unlocked my Prime last weekend. I can't remember exactly what I did to get it to work, but it finally did work for me after I tried different things. The device is on firmware 4.1.1 JB/ 10.4.2.18.... so it definitely does work on JellyBean.
I didn't have 2 step verification activated either, but if I recall I had the issue where Google was not allowing less secure apps. Since you allowed that.... I'm not sure why it's not completing the process for you. I think I had received some sort of notification on the Tablet after typing in my Google password... and I had to confirm the notification to allow the app to have full account access.... but I honestly can't remember. I do remember looking through all the troubleshooting tips here: ( https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255?hl=en ) and here ( https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6009563 ).
I also remember using ES File explorer to see if there were any leftover files from the unlocking attempt, and I remember seeing a text file named "Unlock" or something like that, which I believe the app had created. (I've got to head out the door to get to work in a moment, so don't have time to look for it again right now)... but see if you can find that file and delete it... then try wiping data and cache in the Manage App settings, reboot the phone, and try to run it again.
The process was a pain in the butt for me too, but it finally worked, so hopefully you can get it to work for you too.
Thanks! Was given a really simple solution at another forum: Factory Reset/DO NOT register any Google account/use the UnLock Device App v6.
Worked like a charm.

You seriously rock for this one. They oughta include this info in the KatKiss ROM update doc for the TF201. Thanks! -- Chuck
Options for not Unlocked device
Hi,
I tried multiple times to unlock the bootloader in the last 2 years (unsuccessfully), then few days ago I contacted Asus and they replied to me that "The unlock tool has been discontinued since 2014", so no way to unlock.
What are my options now? No way to install new roms, but there is any known method for at least rooting the device (with the latest firmware)?
Thing is, that I really liked the transfomer (especially the keyboard) but it's always been too slow to browse the internet, and actually there is no replacement I can buy (asus make some similar products but are all windows based and most of them have a quite cheap look).
Thanks a lot for the help!

I rooted with motochopper, so now I have root access. I installed and used fstrim, seems like there was a small performance improvement. Not sure if I have anything else I can do to speed it up with root but no custom rom.
Hi i used the unlock tool last night, and it was a pain, as it wouldn't accept my google password! I found a solution on here, after reading what seemed like have the board posts for the TF201. So basically what I did was -
1. Go to the tablet settings, and set a pin code as the unlock method.
2. In Google, set the less secure apps permission.
3. Load the unlock app again, and accept the warnings.
4. When it asks for verification, use the unlock code option.
5. Wait for it to do its thing, and Tablet will reboot.
6. Once finished, restart the Tablet, in top left hand corner during boot it will say this device is unlocked.
Hopefully this will help.
Regards Bill
Thanks Bill,
I tried again today, following your steps, but this didn't worked. My problem is that the unlocker just fails, it never prompted me for the google account password. It saves a file with the unlock date.
I think I need to try again with the factory reset (that I tried in the past actually, and didn't worked).

Does anyone have a working download link for the unlock tool? It seems to no longer be available on ASUS's website.

Just tried this tonight and it worked. No Google account activation but I did set a screen lock. I setup the wifi in the beginning setup screens. and Used the Unlocker from the Asus Tf201 Download
Installed unlocker and opened the program and asked for asus tf201 pin code. System accepted settings and rebooted.

Not sure how to get around this...

Long time since i've posted here but can't figure out a way around new Android security "feature"...
I gave my GF a Moto G 3rd gen for christmas. She really liked it but didn't complete the initial setup so never linked her gmail to the device.
She had a run in with her ex boyfriend who stole her phone and held it for ransom for a few weeks before giving it back. In that time though he had been using it with his own sim card and had setup his gmail on the device. He is gone from the country now and we know of no way to contact him. He had also put a number lock on the phone.
No problem, I thought, i'll just reset the device. So I did a reset and wiped all info.
Upon startup it says:
"Verifying your account"
"This Device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on the device"
This is not possible as the only Google account ever on the device was the ex boyfriend's and he's gone.
So I checked online and figured "Okay well I'll just re-flash the ROM"...
So I found the base ROM for the phone in Canada and successfully flash it using ADB fastboot.
Turns out that even with the cache and accounts on the device cleared the restart still has the same request.
So I thought. "Well Maybe I can load a custom ROM"...
So I went to work trying to unlock the bootloader to root the device.
I got the code from Motorola and tried to unlock and got the message: "<bootloader> Check 'Allow OEM Unlock' in Developer Options FAILED
Which I cannot do because I cannot see a way into the device to unlock the dev options now.
Not sure what I can do now. This seems like a remarkably flawed security feature...
Never-mind was able to solve via:

SM-S327VL Galaxy J3 Luna Pro Frp Bypass?

I got this phone from a friend who also got it from a friend and its FRP locked. I have ODIN and I have not been able to find any firmware for this device. I seen some paid for but it looks risky. Any details on that? I would take it to stores but they will do nothing except a select few that I'm not trying to venture to. Obviously this is newer OS and stuff so I think it may require a bit more than just firmware, I keep hearing about some bootfile that looks different than the .md5 file or whatever it was... any help? Ive been able to get a quick settings app on it and i can get into settings but not developer options, I can't seem to disable google play services to bypass it, no successful root apps, running android marshmallow ?????

Hi bro.
Sorry to hear about the problem. I know the hassles of getting phones from someone else. You're not to clear on your problem. I assume you cant get into settings and therefor you had to download a 3rd party quick settings app. If possible go to settings and then "About". Look for "Software Info". There tap on the build number until you see a notification stating you are now a developer. Go back to main settings screen and developer options should be listed at the bottom. In developer options there should be an option for "OEM Unlock", turn it on and tr flashing again. If this is not possible try searching the settings for "Re-Activation Lock" and turn it off. Insert your password when promted and try again. If all this is not possible or fails then try Samsung Tool Pro. I cant post the link but just google D3X Samsung Tool Pro with loader. This tool is helpful for unlocking and bypassing FRP as well as flashing firmware, recovery's etc.
Feel free to ask for help
I used Nova for a forced launched homescreen and got into the settings that isn't the hard part. The hard part is the OEM Unlock. Been trying that build number a million times hoping something would do different and no sucess. I already have ODIN and Pro Tools but even they don't have the SM-S327VL firmware to fix this. I was thinking about re-partitioning it with odin... I know it's risky but if I brick it I would have to wait for the firmware anyway?. I cant flash a thing without any firmware. So far I haven't been able to find it on the samsung website or any others. I seen some that wanted money for them but I don't trust it. Can anyone confirm any? HhEeLlPp???
Finally disabled all google apps but I can't get rid of Knox
Frp bypass
I unlocked my phone on my own. I used an app called Test DCP and it became a device owner and then I restarted my phone and it was done. Good app????

How to unlock bootloader on Huawei MediPad M6 10.8"?

Hi,
I've recently bought a Huawei M6 10.8". Unfortunately, it doesn't have Google Play (and the rest of the services). I'm trying to install it to it, tried to ask how to do it without unlocking the bootloader, didn't get an answer (probably because it's not possible). I've been reading and got mixed answers if the bootloader is unlocked I lose the warranty. I've read through the policy, didn't seem to find anything about that, so I assuming it's not the case. Either way without Google Play (and co.) the tablet is quite useless, I'll have to open the bootloader, get TWRP on and flash OpenGapps or similar.
I've been trying to follow this guide, but after issuing:
Code:
fastboot OEM unlock
...I get permission denied with Factory Reset Protection (FRP) locked. When I go the developer options, there is a grayed out "Enable OEM unlock" option, but it doesn't allow me to switch it on. I know the password and everything, but how can I disable that FRP Lock? The internet is full with options when I don't know the password (none I tried seem to work). Please help, thanks!

The official bootloader unlocking method for Huawei device was stopped by the company pretexting they wanted to guarantee a bug-free experience and that ROM-flashing and other modification ruined the experience : https://www.xda-developers.com/xda-huawei-decision-stop-bootloader-unlocking/
That was back in 2018, there are still unofficial methods to unlock bootloader, but I won't because they're all paid methods by some shady apps.
So if guess that's why OEM Unlock is greyed out, and even if it isn't, when you'll try to unlock the bootloader, it'll request a code that you don't have...
Sorry man, the moment Huawei stopped allowing users to mod their Android device was the moment I started to hate them. What is this, Apple ?
Wow sorry, I got carried away, please don't ever get me started on that lol.
Hope you'll still have a good day
Both my wifey and me have a Huawei phone in use. We use the phone as it is meant to be used by OEM. We aren't interested in modifying anything on them because they have all the features we wanted to have. We don't want to transform them to another one because we don't see any advantage in doing so. Those Huaweis for us are a tool, not a toy.
We knew what we buy.
Thanks for the info Raiz. You mention some "shady apps". Which is the most trusted out of them? Thanks
@antivirtel
To install Google Play on devices where it is missing it's not required that device's Android got rooted or device's bootloader got unlocked. If people say it has to be like this, they're idiots.
The Google Play package consists of at least 4 APKs that install as user-app:
1. Google Account Manager APK
2. Google Services Framework APK
3. Google Play Services APK
4. Google Play Store APK
Knowing this you've to download the 4 APKs matching your phone's Android version and OEM and install them . APKMirror is probably your best bet for trusted Google Play Store APKs.
After you reboot, you’ll find the Play Store and Google Settings shortcuts on your home screen. Tap “Play Store” and you’ll be able to sign in with an existing Google account or create a new Google account.
It may not appear to work normally after you sign in, but just give it some time. The Google Play Store and Google Play Services will automatically update themselves in the background. This may take as much as ten minutes.

Hi,
Actually none of them, because they're all paid method. Don't try that please. You can try what jwoegerbauer suggested and see if it works, but please don't pay something to root your phone, it is very unsafe and may be a scam (most of the time it is).
Have good day

recover locked LG G6?

Hi there!
I found an LG G6 with cracked screen in the trash. There was no SIM-Card and no SD-Card in there, but it still seems to work. It has encrypted userdata so I couldn't boot it to see if there's any contact info displayed.
I found I could factory reset the phone by getting into the stock recovery and switching to yes two times.
Now it boots but it will not allow me to enter the phone without giving it an internet connection and logging in with a previously used google account. Since I found this phone and was not able to find out who the previous owner was I of course do not have a google account that was used on the phone previously.
I also booted into fastboot but can't do anything because the bootloader is locked, and it of course was not left by the previous owner with the developer option to allow for unlocking set.
Is there some way to get this phone operational again so it can be used for something more than spare parts (minus the main-board)?
Thank you!
Why dont you flash kdz file? From lg-firware. Com . Oh wait if you cant see imei if you cant get inside phone...
Ah, that's an idea, I will try that. Thank you for the tip. Unsure if a stock ROM flash will reset that google account lock, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

Does it work?
Sadly, no. I tried a few of the LG Tools.
"LG Mobile Support Tool" could connect and told me there is an update available and I should use "LG Bridge" to install that.
"LG Bridge" won't connect because it tells me it requires an MTP connection and I need to allow acccess to "telefon data" if Android 6 or later is installed (which quite certainly is).
Since the phone doesn't let me in (only shows me the first setup wizard which I can't pass without the google account of the previous owner) I can't enable file sharing or accept any requested permissions.
UPDATE: Ah, now I found an "correct update problems" button in "LG Bridge", with this he started downloading 3.28GB worth of firmware, let's see whether he will manage to flash that after downloading it and if so if that does remove the google account lock.
UPDATE2: So I've researched a bit more and found that what my problem is (phone locked to previous google account) is called "FRP Lock" = Factory Reset Protection.
There are a few guides that show how you can use the accesibility feature talkback to get to youtube which allows you to open chrome which allows you to open the phone app. This allowed me to get my IMEI using the *#06# code.
But so far I could not find a phone app code that opens a service menu on this LG G6 H870 which would be required to follow the FRP guides further.
UPDATE3: haha yes the "correct update problems" procedure from "LG Bridge" updated to a newer firmware while leaving my wifi config I've entered during the UPDATE2 step but removing the "FRP Lock".

The "correct update problems" button in "LG Bridge" did the trick.
The stuff I've described in the "UPDATE2" block was just what I was trying while waiting for the huge download to finish, but it didn't lead to anything. Though it did allow me to get the IMEI by giving me access to youtube, chrome & the phone app.

yes, it seems XDA's best days lie behind it sadly. They seem to make it deliberately hard to actually reach the device specific forums instead of their curated blog stuff nowadays.
