Google Camera for Honor 5X - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

Will the Google camera app ever work for our device?
If yes, how would it because i have constantly tried many versions of Google camera but none either including the latest HDR+ mods.
(I get the message App close-Open app again everytime)
Used the Camera2API enabler. Even then it didn't work. Is there a way?

I have the same problem, works only on version 4.1,and that without hdr+,if someone is porting the latest version of Google Camera on our device,it will work, but without hdr+,because our smartphone does not support camera2api. ROM:LOS 14.1

Does it work on srock rom

I've tried also only old versions work pre-Android M.

They are also working on SD 62X series too.
Most probably all of the 620+ series

As far as I know, SD62X processors don't have a codec or something (I don't remember exactly), it's hard to port it.

Managed to install Gcam 5.1 from BSG,hdr+ does not work, app crashes when choosing a model for the hdr+

[Guide][LOS,AOSP,STOCK] Enable Camera2 API

Hello guys,
today I´m going to show you how to enable Camera2 API for our Axon 7. Because ZTE did´nt want us to know, that our camera is capable of this function, they kept it a secret, but actually it´s pretty easy to enable this. Requirements: Not sure yet, but definitely works on Vertex.
1.) Open build.prop with an working editor. (system/build.prop)
2.) Add the following line in the build.prop: "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1"
3.) Save the edited file and reboot.
That was pretty easy, wasn´t it? Now you have full control of your focus, expsure, raw, etc.
On the stock rom, this has to be tested. Hope you enjoy.
Edit: Seems like it isn't the full control though
I'm pretty sure this has been tried already and doesn't work.

No it doesn't. I tried the Google Camera port on Vertex and it didn't work.
It's "enabled" by default on AEX but google camera crashes. It's a hardware problem.

You sure? The default google camera port doesn´t work with our device, if it´s not moddified. You need to grab it from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/modded-google-camera-hdr-60fps-video-t3658552
I personally have this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByQSZtXbeaVpUnJBQ2twWW1ucnM/view
The next time, you say that something is not working, just try once more. If you followed what I wrote, then you should have working camera2api.
The last pic, contains Footej Camera, where you can see that Camera2 API is correctly working. Other apps as FV-Cinema, Open Camera, etc can acces manual focus, exposure, .. too. Without problems

It doesn't work. If Camera2API was working HDR+ would work. If you go into the settings of the camera port you posted it shows "no hdr+" and if you to try to change it the camera app gives an error and crashes. So no, it doesn't work.

Maybe you don't know what camera2api is, or you messed something up on your device. Camera2api isn't about the HDR function on an ported Google camera. With the method I posted, I have full control of focus, iso, exposure and shutter speed. These settings work only if camera2api is enabled. Your "doesn't work" is unnecessary. I showed you more than once with proof, that this is working.

I installed the modded camera from your post #6. When I start it without the prop added, the app crashes. After adding the prop and restarting, the app starts and I can switch to Nexus6 HdrPlusAuto. But then when I try to take a picture, the app crashes. I erased all app data and just tried to take a picture, and the app crashes.
I am on unofficial Resurrection Remix, August 11 build.
EDIT: after uninstall & reinstall, I can take pictures without HDR+. Once I activate HDR+, it crashes again.

Not working for me either on rooted stock. Although the api shows as active, all Camera2 Api apps crash.

After some trial and errors I can confirm v36 with Magisk slow motion plugin is working.
Still some hick ups here and there but it is really working.
Thank you very much for your guide!

Google Camera HDR+

I installed the following file for the Google Camera HDR+ and it worked. I'm using the H-ROM G6 Port, idk if that is a must.
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817906626617934890
Works for the Lineage-based ROM I'm using (Resurrection Remix) so I'm hopeful this will work for any ROM. HDR+ isn't making any difference for me at the moment though, what settings do we use?

Entering and exiting the settings make the app crash, also the hdr+ doesn't really work as the photos look exactly the same on forced, auto and off mode
doesnt work for me.
shows a black screen as if the camera would not work. when i switch to camera it will display everything correctly, switching back to photo mode will freeze the app.
so its kinda unusable

Doesn't matter what you choose, even opening settings and closing them without touching anything makes the app crash. The hdr+ switch is just a dummy, the photo quality and everything is just the same as stock google camera.
Try Google Camera for Marshmallow (on LG G6 it works) - more info there: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74117121&postcount=408
Did anybody manage to make HDR+ work on our G4?
I've spent 4 hours testing lots of different versions and lots of different settings but still either app crashes or there's no difference between HDR+ on and off...
If you guys have the solution please let us know

Hello,
I'm planning on buying the xperia xz1 compact. Can someone tell me if it's possible to use the google camera app on this device on stock rom ? I'm not asking about the hdr+ functionallity, i'd like to know if it's possible to take photospheres, etc. Is it available from the play store ? On some devices you can't see it on the play store and it's incompatible for some reason.

Yes, you need to download an older version, not the newest with HDR+. I think one of the last working was of April. I've tried myself and it works fine. Download from Apkmirror!

It's a good option for non root users. Quality of pics taken with front camera is better than that of stock cam. Portrait mode doesn't work as of now. One plus camera is also a good option but Nokia camera has some extra features which makes it supports over the op camera app.

after going through multiple apps, I would say MWP and other gcam mods are best option.

Hi there, recently the Gcam was updated to 8.7 version with some new options but as you may know the last update the Pixel 3 has is the 8.3. I've been looking for a mod of the 8.7 that works with the office but no luck at all. Every APK from the modders team closes instantly after opening the app. Is there any version that you have tried that actually works?
