Install IMX 258 possible ?

Hey,
I've a MI4C unusable at home, his sensor his an IMX 258, do you think it's possible to install it on redmi note 3 pro ?
What will happen camera will not be understand by software ? it's possible for me to add drivers or something on it to make camera working ?
Impossible.
Hey, thanks for your answer, that's sad
@jordandroid64 Well actually that might be possible. First of all check if you can stick Mi4c camera module to the kenzo's motherboard.
If it'll stick then you might need libs and kernel support but don't bother of it now.

Hey go ahead and give it a shot don't worry about the software support
Provided that the new sensor can work with the current hardware, building a kernel that supports it would be fairly easy!
Hey, so I've try, unfortunately that's impossible: sensor is bigger in redmi note 3 pro and has more pins.
I've try with k3 note, same size and same number of pins but opposite sense.
Redmi note 4x have some time an IMX258, and the pins looks like to be at the same number if someone have one, or one camera, maybe we could change with it... IMX 386 from Honor 6X is maybe compatible also.

FCP fingerprint: where can in buy it?

Hi,
I'm looking for a FCP fingerprint (I've a Goodix :crying: ), colour silver
Do you know where I can buy it?
Can you give me any advice or provide me any link?
I've found these one
https://www.parts4repair.com/fingerprint-sensor-flex-cable-for-xiaomi-redmi-note-3-silver/
http://www.dragon-tt.com/xx.aspx?id=6090#
http://www.ogodeal.com/fingerprint-sensor-flex-cable-replacement-for-xiaomi-redmi-note-3-white.html
They seem 3 different fingerprints, do you recognize which one is FCP?
Thanks a lot!!!!
the one from dragon-tt looks like an FPC. However, the problem with those is that they don't promise you an FPC scanner. They only promise you a fingerprint reader compatible with Redmi Note 3. The goodix is technically compatible.
I ordered this one back in February, just got around to installing it now and running Nitrogen OS Oreo which shouldn't support Goodix, and it works perfectly so I'm guessing that I did indeed get an FPC. No guarantee, of course, but I've only ordered once and got the right one.

S9+ as IR remote?

Hi,
my IR receiver blinks all the time because of some front sensor on the phone therefore could it be possible to develop any app and use the model as an IR blaster? What do you think, does anyone know which sensor (maybe the code beamer) does that and would it be possible without any Samsung permission and cooperation? Or does exist any reliably working and tiny 3.5 jack IR blaster with this model?
Thx
M
I dont think there is any ir blaster in s9+
Nope. Last Galaxy S with IR I think was the S5

Funny enough I think it is just detecting the light that the iris scanner uses. That light is not smart enough to function as a remote though so while your phone may trigger the receiver it is not going to send it commands.

This is what I asked about, thank you
But the second question about 3.5 jack IR blaster still needs to be answered. Maybe someone in future will respond.

You can always use a cheap and very good working Broadlink RM Pro.

Even though the S9+ doesn't have an IR blaster you can get a wifi remote control that works.

That one is really promising, thank you!

is it possible to swap the camera module with a differnet IMX 363 on the Poco F1

Since Poco F1 uses the IMX 363, Is it possible to get hold of a different IMX363 module say from the Nokia 8.1 with OIS and swap it with the Poco F1's module.
Good thought we could try this but the kernel should support this
But we can port it from mi 8 so best of luck and will help u whenever possible also u should ask some devs which could help u to port the kernel to support ois

Hi, thanks for your input but I am not a developer but do you think this is possible that there is no limitation in the case that the ribbon cable should fit right??

Yes according to me the ribbon cable should fit fine as its the same sensor but with no ois but we could try this btw u could also try without kernel but most probably we will need custom kernel
Also maybe we both could do something together
Always up for any help that i could provide :good::good: and a big thumbs up for your try
