display always on or not? - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

hi guys , what do you think about always on function? if it used for long time, it shows the information ever in same position of display, do you thinked that the display will degrade?
i know that question is more valid for oled display more than amoled display, oled contains organic component

Allways on function in mate 10 pro?? Where is it in the handy?

Mine will go a bit lower every minute, so it's not in same position

I didnt think the mate 10 had AOD? Techzilla said in his 48hr review it doesnt which was the deciding factor in me not buying it.

Techzilla made a mistake. It is clearly in the menus and I use it all the time. It is really nice to look at on this amoled panel.
There were also rumours for a while claiming that the Mate 10 pro was going to have double tap to wake features too.

The regular mate cannot have because the screen is IPS (not amoled).

Thanks ?

However the LG g6 has an always on display even though it's an IPS panel.
However I don't think the always in display is as effective because the blacks on the screen won't be true blacks.

I didn't make a mistake, the mate 10 doesn't have always on display only the pro does

Well technically both IPS and AMOLED can have Allways On Display. However, implementing it in a IPS panel is a non sense because the battery should discharge a lot faster.
I'm sorry I did not state it clear on the previous post.

Yeah I know. Hence i clarified in the post before this one.

I'm really impressed that is has the always on display feature, I did not know it did and strumbled on a video showing how to turn it on.

It's wank
It used to make my screen freeze on unlock before 128
It doesn't freeze now on 128 but I've turned it back off

I prefer my screen off when not using it

AOD, finally got it....on 137 update...c636...nyc ota

anyone tried using 3rd party apps for AOD?

I have got mine for about a week now. No complaints so far though. My only gripe is that the screen looks very washed out. Or that could be because i am coming from a over saturated samsung screen. Let me know if you need more specific details.:good:
I have a great desire to order meizu pro 5. But I see that there is no Ukrainian language in it and, as for me, Meizu community is very small in whole. So I do not know whether I could expect for good roms and Ukrainian language... That's why probably I will order Xiaomi instead of pro 5...

How's the camera and battery life doing?
Sent from my R7plusf using XDA Free mobile app
I have not done any rigorous battery test on the phone yet. But so far have not seen any battery drains. I am unable to post image links for the screenshot due to xda 10 posts rule. Iam at 86 % after 11h 37 min. 24 % of which is Phone Standby, 19% screen, 13% Android System, 7 % Android OS and the rest other apps. My day included mostly of standy, an hour or two of podcasts, a few email checks and messaging. As for the camera, i had some shots from the night time and they were really bad. Lots of noise. I will try to post some samples in the coming posts for the images and also test the phone on battery intensive games. I have one weird bug though. Once a day the phone gets locked and prompts for the flyme account password
mx5 pro
hi,
i have mine also a week , the battery life is just incredible, really.
my huge complain is this ****ty, terrible, scrap Flyme OS. I can not get used to it. i miss a lot of customization possibilities. no root option, no themes, locked bootloader. it is not laggy, no force close, everything works fine, but i can not get used to it.
the hardware for me is VERY VERY impressive! i would truly recommend this phone BUT 1st take a look at this OS if you like it or not.
hope i could help a bit.
I have my pro 5 rooted and it is extremely easy to do. Just go to settings, create a flyme account then go to system privileges and choose root. Viola!! And you are rooted.
I have Samu Note 4 but now I would like a new phone with 2 sim card slot. I like the One+2 and Meizu MR5 pro. Can you convenience me that the Mx5 pro is better chiose? And what about international support (update) and overheating and other negative property. Now I can buy One about 400€. It is chinese original new model. What do you think? Later, for example 6 month if I would like to sell it how keep it price.

Poco F1 Multitouch Problem Is Probably A Hardware Issue

I was checking out other phones that had this Multitouch issue, it includes Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Zenfone Max Pro M1, etc. Do you know what these all have in common? The IPS display, this is also cited by Beembom and since Xiaomi is not responding to any thread that's created for this issue, I suspect more and more than this is a hardware issue.
Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro still has this issue and it even is present on custom ROM's. The only phone that solved this problem was Max Pro M1, Xiaomi has not got the brains to solve it. MiA1 (my last device) that has a very inferior processor never had this issue, because it has a LTPS LCD.
Start reporting and ask about this before it's too late. Maybe they are waiting to make enough money before telling about this issue.
Since Xiaomi is not saying anything, I have already reached few reviewers and media companies to get Xiaomi's comment on this and have lodged several complaint against Flipkart and Xiaomi for this probable fraud because selling a device showing a point that the latest processor is being used and coupling it with a useless interfacing hardware is less or more a fraud.
I hope Flipkart/Xiaomi fix this issue (if it's a software issue) else refunds me my money.

Can confirm present on my redmi note 5 pro but haven't tried anything outside miui.
Is the display and touch response so bad that's to be real deal-breaker? Or is it common to all IPS display phones under 25k?
My POCO F1 order is in transit, and I was wondering whether I should cancel it before delivery. Please advise.

The only phone with IPS that had the issue fixed via OTA is Zenfone Pro M1.
Few Nokia 7 Plus has it too, but the company fixed those units via some repair.
Poco F1 seems to have this issue out of the box and is not even replying or making any statement regarding this, but it's their common attitude they even did this with mi4i, they launched Mi4i by saying it's a flagship, that time too I bought the phone in the first sale and the device had a major issue related to SD615 heating problem, in the next OTA they said that they have fixed the issue, you know what they did? they permanently disabled 2 cores and when users went mad over this, they reenabled the cores again and in the end the phone got so bad due to their bad optimization that I was getting 1 hour SOT after only 1 years of usage, it's the Mi4i thing all over again.

I used it for week coming from OnePlus 5t I felt screen was to lagging compared to 5t plus the UI has a lot of bug I know they will fix all bugs but if I were you I would pay the extra 200$ and get the OnePlus 6
For me, the intended usage was for 2 years with the phone. And if they have issues with touch and display (the most important and used tangible part of phone) it's not worth buying even if the deal is awesome. I currently use Lenovo P2, having an AMOLED screen, so not sure about IPS display and associated issues. Damn, I was really excited to get my hands on this POCO. Hope they will rectify it soon. But for now..... I have CANCELLED my ORDER.

Used rn5p for 6 months before selling off and buying this phone. Never had any kind of multitouch issue on rn5p, F1 however had the issue, got fixed after I turned off swipe to screenshot. As for lags, this phone HAS some weird problems like frame drops, but that's not related to multitouch issue.

The framedrop is actually the multitouch issue. When you try to aim while moving the screen seems to skip right? that's the multitouch issue and not framedrop. If you are having actual framedrops then that can be easily solved by an update while I am not sure about multitouch because I tried everywhere from Twitter to XDA, none of Xiaomi representative is replying about it.

where to turn off swipe to screenshot ?
You claim the multi-touch is a hardware issue, and blame the IPS display for it?
You DO realize that the IPS display and touch digitizer are two physically different components, right?
This thread doesn't make sense, it's unscientific speculation.

Of course they should have replied. As far as logic goes, I THINK it's a software related bug, also could be a hardware thing, most probably it's not.
Again, I think F1 has very sensitive to touch response, typing on this phone isn't quite ideal, as it detects my finger even 2mm above screen. Overall it's smoother than my usual rate, not quite ideal for ME, need to make the sensitivity lower.

It is the only reason I do not have a M20 Pro, honestly from what I have read I do not think improvements are coming either. I agree that in it's current form the AOD is pretty pointless, it's just an always on clock mostly.
It's garbage on emui. Google nailed it with their pixels. It's absolutely perfect, and huawei should copy it.

I got one from Croma yesterday. Device is good in terms of usability and battery life. Cameras are stellar !!
Only cons I would mention is that the Display isn't as sharp for a flagship device (especially with text on white background) .
Would recommend this only for the camera. If media consumption is more important, I would recommend the Mate 20 Pro over the P30 Pro.
Cheers :good:

I bought the device from Amazon. Earlier i had pixel 3 and s10. I sold S10. Cameras on S10 were not good. However p30 pro cameras are superb. I am liking the battery life especially. Phone looks beautiful.
Auto Call recording is available.
Camera has a dedicated hdr option but its good to let master AI handle things.
Only thing i am not liking is, that huawei has not released latest software yet in India. Latest one is .124....we are still on .118. Huawei is treating Indian customers as secondary.

Is Huawei really serious about its flagship device in India? Its really disappointing. Wonder what their marketing team is doing. Instead of useless ads, they should focus more on Customer experience. Its a premium device not a 10k average phone.

If anyone has 2 SIM card - can you check if your internet stay intact when data is on sim 1 and you receive call on sim 2 or Vice versa.? or it disconnects?

Good question. Even i want to know this. Also want to know if using dual sim standby drains more battery.

Are you sure you added the Watch GT "Sport" version in your cart while purchasing the P30 Pro and not the "Classic" version ?

Is it worth of upgrading from the Mi A2?

Or wait for the Pro model?

There will be no pro version. There will be a CC9 on the global miui
Worth for a lot of reasons, the amoled screen is amazing, the battery life is incredible, the cameras are great. I have no regrets at all.

It will be Mi 9 Lite
Same as natanfranghieru. Battery life is just amazing compared to A2 (2-3 days standby and almost 8-9 hs SOT). The cameras are better and camera2 API comes enabled by default. Headphone Jack. AMOLED is great if you don't care too much about resolution (I think the display is better, but that's my opinion). The size of the phone is more confortable in the hand. Great upgrade for me.
