building AOSP - Sony Xperia XZ1 Questions & Answers

Has anybody built and installed AOSP on the xz1? I know that unlocking the bootloader loses your DRM keys and it messes up the camera but I'm hoping that the camera isn't affected if the device is running AOSP.
Can anyone please answer this for me? I really want to root and I know I can do that with AOSP but I don't want to sacrifice the camera for it

[REQ] HTC-Camera.apk for nonSesse ROM

Hello,
I have question, or request to developer.
Camera apl. in 2.1ROM is with bugs, unstable, poor setting,...
But camera in 1.5ROM and in VillainROM5x work fine, without bugs.
Is some way to install HTC-Camera from 1,5ROM or from VillainROM5.2?
And same "problem" is with gallery. Simple gallery without 3D.
I try push via adb some files to Androbin, but without result.
- htccamera.apk and com.htc.* jar and apk files from resource.
Can anybody help me, or prepare howto file,...?
Or developer prepare patch for aHero,Androbin,...?
Or I have total stupid request?
What rom are you currently using? if you are using an unstable 2.1 rom from asop sources you may want to try the sprint hero rom or legend port etc? Just by reading the many 2.1 roms feature lists on this forum. This information could of been attained on your own accord.

I know features of custom ROMs.
aHero and Androbin are good ROM, but with "sh.t" gallery and camera.
VillainROM5,2 is stable, gallery and camera work good, camera with more setting optinons. But I want use AOSP contact and callendar,... not HTC.
Is possible port ONLY HTC camera and gallery to AOSP ROM? For ex. from Villain?
How to make this?

"Upgrade" stock 4.1.2 ROM to 4.4.2, possible?

Hi guys,
I just wanted to know if it was possible to upgrade a ROM (for the Huawei Ascend P2) from version 4.1.2 to either 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 or something similar.
As you may know no one has developed any custom ROMs for this phone and at the moment we have nothing more than a P6 ROM running on the P2 (which excludes functionality of getting signal, speaker audio, headphone audio and lacks the functionality of the actual buttons on the phone, the ones below the screen)
If this was possible could someone give me some pointers on how to do it? All I need is like a reference guide or tutorial.. I don't mind doing the work myself as I want to get into android development. I consider this my 1st project.
Thank you.
bump
Most likely Huawei never put out the source code for it meaning unless there is a sister phone to it you can port from then not much else to do.

Lollipop ROM Screencasting

Can anyone tell me if there is a Lollipop ROM where screencastng is working? I have tried a few and none of them seem to do anything. Is this just a Android 5.0 bug?
You just have to wait. Devs are still working to give us the first stable build. After that I'm quiet sure they will think about features like screen mirroring

Aosp+multirom

Hello everyone
My plan was to get dual boot on my z5c using "multirom": the first would be the stock rom (Nougat), the other one was the aosp rom built by Sony itself, in order to unlock some feature like raw capture and long exposures, that seems possible with aosp based roms and "Freedcam" (look for defcomg developer).
Do you think it's possible to mix these two roms with multirom?
What I'm supposed to do is
-Backup the TA partition
-Unlock the bootloader
-Root with dirtycow exploit (does it work with Nougat, doesn't it? Is there a way to get multirom without unlocking the bootloader?)
-Install multirom
-Flash the roms
It this right? Am I missing something, or is there something I must particularly care about? I wouldn't want to brick my phone, and I'm not too experienced, but I think I can follow instructions. Thank for your attention
Got it to work?
I know, this is an old thread, ok.
But ... did you get it to work?

Custom Rom's (Android Oreo)?

hello, somebody owns the information:
1) When will the first build on Android Oreo and at least one of the developers is already taking the first steps in this direction?
2) What are the difficulties to expect from the camera and DRM keys, will the camera properly shoot, and will there be ports of the stock camera for custom firmware?
