Pixel flicker when turning on screen ? Video Below. Return? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Questions & Answers

Wondering if any of you have a flickering of your screen when you press the power button or turn on the device. I notice in the top left of the device some pixels light up before an image is shown when turning on the screen. I'm still within the return window so I wouldn't want the device to have display issues down the line.

I have the S1 and have never see one part of the display light up before the rest, have you tested the screen,
Download a screen test app and go though the colors in a dark room, you can normally increase/decrease the brightness just by dragging your finger up and down the screen, check for any inconsistencies in the screen, a low brightness light gray shows up a lot of problems.

I returned that unit to Costco and bought another. Didn't want to risk it going bad later.

Screen problems on 4month old S2

I have noticed some horizontal lines running through the screen on my S2 when light images are displayed. (Also shows on green test screen quite clearly)
They are light bands about 1mm wide and running across my screen at various points.
There is also slight burn in of my status bar, you can see battery and clock if you look hard.
Just wondering if this is a normal occurrence and something to put up with or if it's worth me getting it replaced under warranty.
If I return it and then in 4 months time the same happens it's pointless. Also I would hate to return the phone for screen replacement and then get another screen with maybe a dead pixel or something.
Any help is very much appreciated.
Thank you
can no one help......?

Send it to repair centre, it's definitely a faulty unit.
Your repaired/replaced phone will not have repeated issues.
My phone is a year already, and everything is still prefect

Screen flickering issue?

My friend has a desire x and has the screen flickering issue. Is this software related? should she update her desire x ?
Always better to check with service center...
Settings, development options, turn off strict mode and show screen updates...

I had similar problem with the screen that when I touched anywhere on the screen a shadow appeared on the center of screen similar when someone press a TFT LCD screen with a finger.
I have returned it back and got a new one without similar problem.
Although I have seen the same problem (but with the shadow at one of the edges) on a demo DX device.
Hi or so that you have the DX screen by pressing a finger to the screen as he swam like a laptop screen ??????
I have another flickering issue...
I've never mentioned anything wrong when touching the screen, but I've noticed that when the brightness is at low levels, the screen will flicker (like that) if the background is set at (light) dark colors.
I had never seen this happening with any of previous smartphones, so I'm gonna sent it back to htc (for this and the hiss issue) after finishing my exams and I'll report back.
Exactly, but I had this in the middle of the screen not matter where I pressed on the screen. And it was of course more obvious on dark or grey backgrounds.

[Q] Green screen after digitizer and screen replacement

I just replaced an oled screen and digitizer for a Samsung Galaxy S3. Everything seemed to go ok except when I turn the phone on the Samsung logo is green. The entire screen also has a green color to it (more than just a tint). Is it possible I just received a faulty screen? Or did I do something wrong? What could be causing this? I am fixing this phone for my friend's wife and would appreciate any help I could get.
possibly a bad connection
I did try the lcd connection again and that didn't change anything. How else can I check the connection?
Could it be anything else?
If not the connection, faulty screen

WTF??? Screen burn in??

I was trying out a compass app on my LGV10. The app has white lettering, etc and a black back ground. The phone needed to be charged so I just plugged it in and set it down. I didn't pick it up again till the morning. I killed the app and then noticed very lightly I could still see the image. You you can see a very, very faint image of the compass app. I tried turning it off for a couple hrs but it is still there.
I"ve never heard of LCD screen burn in; but there it is.
Anyone dealt with this before??

yes, with time the screen get "ghost images" but they dissapear if you turn off the screen for 5/10 minuts. Mine is getting that kind of "ghost images" from apps i opened and mine is on the sides they get a yellowish tint in both sides and some in the top of screen, nothing to be scared of...isnt burn in...but overheating of the screen.
Use BLUE LIGHT FILTER app (on play store has icon with a phone with blue screen) and set "filter opacity 15%" and "screen dimmer 50%" on color BLACK. I read that in 3d v10 of my model (h962) and ghost images never happen again with min o max brightness in every use.

Reply; thanks for the info guys.
Day 2 and I cannot see the latent image from the compass app anymore.
Not exploring the woods or anything, but I need to install a TV antenna on the house and have to aim it dead on 115* from true north.
That you cannot truly ascertain without a compass. From standing in my yard, what seemed like true north to me was actually NNE.

Wow that worked. Thank you. The trick seems to be to use black color. Been trying with red filters but did not work. I only need to set black filter to 5% only and all ghosting is gone. This keeps brightness high. I had some pretty horrible yellow permanent ghosting on edges of screen that appeared very fast. Now not at all.

I will have to try this. I cracked my screen on my V10 and picked up a bootloop one on eBay that still had a perfect screen. Did the swap of my motherboard to the new screen housing. All went fine except I noticed excessive ghosting on the bootlooped display.

Please report back if it works for you too.
I used this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.ne.hardyinfinity.bluelightfilter.free
All my screen needs is a black filter set to 3% (might even less, have not tried lower) opacity and I never see the heavy yellow ghosting that came after minutes on edges and top of screen before in the same places. As a result my whole display is now cooler and cleaner most of the time because the ghosting was pretty severe when the phone was used for a while.

Screen Overlay

Is anyone else noticing that you can see ghost images behind every screen?
Is there a fix for this?
TIA

It is called screen burn, there is a thread dedicated to this problem. Search for screen burn on this forum!
I'll check that out but how could it happen and this is the 3rd one I've had and they all did it. That's why i assumed it had something to do with the screen overlay.

life is this with V10, all have the same issue...mine only have 9 months since i buy it and have ghost images since 2 months from today and no solution...the only solution is send it to LG Repair Center and they change it, but mine lose the guarantee when i unlocked the bootloader so...i will not buy the screen since this is a known problem with V10 display.
better keep it going cool and avoid high levels of brightness only when is needed and avoid playing games since that warm up the phone and the screen will show ghost images. Then when it happens lock your phone, shut down the screen for 3/4 minutes and the ghost is gone...you need to do it everytime you see a ghost image and have trouble with them.
i dont bother with that...i love the phone anyway, when the screen die by itself i change it for another, but now let it rock even with ghost images.
Sofwtare side has nothing (mod or app) that can fix your problem...its the display problem (hardware).
Mine has heavy permanent ghosting that appears after minutes of use when the phone has rested overnight. Though I can prevent any ghosting from becoming visible by installing "Bluelight Filter for Eye Care" and set the filter to the black color with an opacity of just 3% (hardly even affects the maximum brightness). Stopping the display from showing the whitest of colors prevents the ghosting to apperar no matter how high brightness you have or for how long. At least on my unit. So now my screen is permanently perfect instead.

Thank you. I'll give that a try. Mine isn't that bad and sometimes doesn't show at all.

I had just did a factory reset and it's actually gone this time. I'm sure it will come back though.
I've been using v10 for a year now this image retention/ ghosting is really annoying but there's actually a solution to it by using screen filter.
if you apply the filter as soon as you turn on your phone after a while, when there are no temporary burns on screen. They won't come back if you keep the filter on.
I use blue light filter but I'm sure every filter will work even if you keep the filter at low opacity for example at 20%, it'll still work.
Give it a try.
and one more thing if the filter is on you might get an error while giving permissions to apps. so you have to turn off the filter when you get "screen overlay detected" error.
