Strange....the rom is running nicely, except for the Wifi. It remains connected for a few seconds (maybe a minute), then disconnects. I have rebooted, and I have forgot the wifi info and reconnected, both to no avail.

Can you use this for the things you would normally flash back to stock for (ie PRL updates)?

Yes, You can use either VA1 or VA2

Hi @cmdmoto I just stumbled onto this thread and was wondering if you're still supporting this rom. It looks really interesting and wanted to give it a try. I noticed one mention of wifi not staying connected. Have you experienced this as well? Thanks for any info.

My daughter actually uses this ROM and she has not experienced any of the issues that have been mentioned. Also, When an update is available, I will be updating the ROM.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm definitely gonna give it a try in the next few days. I have to update my baseband first. I dropped down to a lollipop baseband to try MOAR again for a bit. I had been on RR Nougat for quite some time prior to that. I'll keep you posted. What are the "extra tidbits"? Can't wait to find out!

That wifi problem night be device specific (mine). Not sure what that's about.

Turns out it was the Magisk file that I was flashing. Started causing all sorts of trouble. Back on this rom with no root, and running properly. I really)y don't need root, so I'm not going to bother with that.

how can I install twrp recovery on marshmallow sprint s5?

i got another rom installed on my s5 but is the same CDQ1 can I still flash this rom???

I believe that is the only one that is debloat. I was using MOAR 7.0, but switched to crdroid, because of not being able to receive MMS. I use. TWRP 3.2.1-0. Just make sure it is the Qualcomm (ktle) version.

Mine is the sprint version of s5! I believe is the one required for installing this rom and i got installed the same 6.0 CQD1 stock firmware specified in the post. But i have to look for the right twrp version for my sprint s5.
How about battery life in this rom ? Is it better than stock roms?

[ROM] 100% Stock 4.2.2 GT-P5210(WiFi) [Deodexed/Rooted build also available]

This is a completely 100% stock rom built from the P5210XXUAMK8 base. It's in flashable zip format, but there is absolutely no tweaking done to this rom; its primary purpose is as a base for anyone wanting to build a mod rom for the P5210 WiFi, as well as being there for anyone who wants to return stock without odin.
As it is 100% stock it's fully bloated, odexed, and non-rooted. You can attain root by flashing root.zip (not included in this post, but it's in the main forum) thus, if you have any complaints, bring them to Samsung, not me. Flashing instructions and download link below.
Edit: I've now also posted a deodexed + rooted build. See download link below. No other changes have been made to this version besides deodex/root.
Flashing instructions:
-Full wipe (factory reset in twrp)
-flash ROM
-reboot, let sit for about 10 minutes
-You're now 100% stock. Enjoy!

These two zips should be helpful for my P5210. There was a zip before, I think from DutchDanny, but it didn't work. I'm going to keep them on my SD card. To anticipate others needs, do you have a thought to repeat the process for the P5200 and P5220? I'm sure those guys would appreciate this also and I'm thinking you have already done more than half the work.

I don't know what the main thread is any more. I assume you mean the Pimpdroid thread? There are ROMs for the other devices but I don't see the stock zip nor the deodexed rooted stock zip for the other devices on the Pimpdroid Thread. I was referring to the stock zips. Can you point me? I might be able to help someone sometime.

Restl3ss, I see that the version of firmware you used, P5210XXUAMK8, is a European version. I am just curious to know if there was a specific reason why that version was used? Would it possibly be due to difference WiFi frequencies available? I think there is some cross compatibilities in frequencies between the US and EUR.
I am sure you are busy, but would there be a future possibility to do the same to the US (Cellular South - XAR) version, P5210UEUAMK1?
Thanks for all you do.

I will not be making another version from the US version as there is no reason for it, the above firmware will work just fine on your device, including all available WiFi frequencies. What frequencies the device supports is defined by hardware, and there's no hardware difference between the US/EUR version. WiFi is a global standard, I assure you

After the battery is discharged, connect the tab to the power supply and I can turn it back on.
I can flash the rom deodexed / rooted with Odin?

Just asked permission to put apk downloads in my thread for ease of access. Also asked if it would be possible to use an automatic modem switcher depending on if you are on stock KK or LP ROM which needs jb modem.
Wow this is fantastic! Really great news! I'm stoked. I can't help with testing but this has to be the best thing I have read all day.
I have a D802 and everything (except for 4.2 roms) uns on the KitKat modem, so I think it would be easier for D802 users due to no modem change.

Yeah exactly. Dual booting lollipop and a stable stock rom with great camera and stability would be the ideal scenario. I just don't quite have the time to test it out (well it's mostly if something goes sour) but I'll be waiting for feedback from other people before jumping into it. But once again it's great you found and tried this.
No problems at all with the slim ROM that he provided through the automatic apk patcher. Or the gapps. All installed correctly to the correct spots /system/dual/ and /data/dual/ going to be testing lollipop though. I tried doing it myself lol. See how it goes.
Is this dual boot only avaliable for D800? I don't see the option for a D802

Can you be a little more clear to your question please?
Why can't I use other ROM?
Nice this dualbooting although we can replace it with multirom if LG finally unlocks the bootloader or if somebody hacks the bootloader. This reminds me of the lg optimus 2x dualboot method also using a dualboot app switcher.
It's a nice alpha thing but I wont be using it cause 16gb and a full system/internal storage isnt so nice with dualbooting but maybe I will look into the script/app later to add more support or update it a bit :]

Because any other ROM that isn't SLIMRom isn't directly supported in the apk version of the patcher. It would have to be patched manually. Refer to original Dev thread at top of Op

G900T unlocked using on AT&T.. Which version of ROM to use?

so I got this galaxy s5 (free) to replace the S4 I had.. I'm on AT&T and the S5 is a T-Mobile device.. I unlocked and am currently using on AT&T without any issues.. I tried Cyanogenmod 12 on it.. had way too many Bluetooth music issues.. so I switched back to a rooted t-mobile stock.. which is terrible.. bluetooth music works great but everything is is painfully slow.. so I want to find a good fast custom rom (that also has proper bluetooth music support).. With so many device versions and so many custom roms I'm just a bit perplexed.. I found some that are debloated stock roms which seem like that would be good. but I'm just a bit confused on what parts I need to have as "t-mobile g900t" and which parts I don't have to have that way? so yeah this is a bit of a newbie question (even though I have run 4 or 5 custom roms in the past (original galaxy s and my s4 both had custom roms). .but those were always at&t devices on at&t network.. so was an easier choice..
at any rate.. looking for some tips on how to best find the right rom.. Would love to do this today/tomorrow.. avoid messing with the phone during the work week..
Thanks in advance!!
Gary
Try the latest stock ROM for the phone. Many of us were having issues with lag with prior 5.1.1 ROMS. The latest ROM has fixed all these issues. Very snappy.
i feel like i remember seeing bluetooth/audio fixes & updates in the CM13 nightly changelogs, you also didnt specify which CM 12 you installed... the last 12.1 snapshot from october or the last nightly from december?
You can run whatever rom you want. If it works with KLTE it works on your phone. Check the S5 unified development. Cyanogen has always been crap on this phone, probably always will be. Try an AOSP based one like Tesla or TipsyOS (probably won't find them on this site, they post all of their roms on their Google+ page)
Unfortunately the only Marshmallow available for this phone so far is CM-13 based so it's also crap and full of bugs...
To be honest, no ROM you find will be perfect. The most stable thing I've found is to just use a rooted stock ROM and debloat the hell out of it then run Google Now launcher or Nova and forget that you have a Samsung device for a while, until the next OTA comes out and you have to do the process over again.

much improved deep sleep battery means crap & full of bugs? i'm over a week behind on nightlies & there arent that many bugs... http://www.cmxlog.com/13/klte/ things are improving all the time, only CM 12.1 is stuck... but the last december nightly isnt buggy either
Sort of forgot about this thread. first Thanks for the replies.. So I have been using CM13 since I posted this.. and this has great for speed.. but BlueTooth continues to suck.. no matter what bluetooth device I use with this Rom it skips and stutters. I've finally had enough.. it's been quite a long time with this issue so time for me to switch.. I will try one of the rooted stock roms and debloat it with one of those tools.. thanks again everyone!

Go to the international s5 site look at Tamirda's phoenix rom . It's 6.0.1 mm very snappy very few bugs. Very moddable. Just load a stock mm rom from here first than so you have the proper bootloader and modem. After installing you feel like you got a mini s7. Good good.

If you have the mm bootloader and modem installed just wipe and flash. But I believe cm 13 could be ran on the lp bootloader. I odined the stock tar first that way you know all the partitions are proper. Than Odin Twrp 3 0.0 . Make sure you back up your data from internal storage because when you Odin factory package it wipes phone storage. I learned this the hard way lost a bunch of pictures lol anyway I found this to be the best way. Hoping this helps....

Get any phone info app and check and see if your bootloader ends in pe1 if it don't you don't have mm bootloader. Teamwin is twrp just make sure it's version 3.0.0 that version seems to do best with the phoenix rom.

thanks for sticking with me on the all the newbie questions.. bootloader version reported as G900TUV1FOG6.. later in the list it shows Latest Firmware: G900TUVUGPE1/G900TTMBGPE1/G900TUVU1GPE1.. so at first I was thinking I was ok.. but that second entry had me wondering.. (dang.. just noticed this was never submitted (from 6/28).. oh well)..
ok.. So I assumed I'm good to go.. installed the latest TWRP (3.0.2).. wiped the data area and tried to flash Phoenix.. It starts installing Aroma.. and within a couple of seconds the phone reboots back into TWRP.. did this a few times.. rebooting into the OS gets me a new Cyanagenomod not Phoenix.. figure I must be missing a step somewhere (or have something that is preventing Phoenix from installing).. thoughts?
thanks again!!

I think you still don't have the correct bootloader . The firmware is mm because your using CM13. The easiest way to get it done for sure is to odin the official MM firmware. Than install Twrp 3.0.0 flash superuser to have root . Reboot in recovery and flash phoenix rom v12.0 than the 12.6 update. This may take extra time this way but all the partitions will be correct. Or odin bootloader in BL slot and modem in cp slot . Don't set for auto reboot pull battery back into download mode Odin Twrp pull battery. Reboot into recovery than flash superuser. Than flash phoenix. Good luck

OK.. you may be right.. I downgraded TWRP to 3.0.0 and the install started working fine.. but now the reboot into Phoenix has been going for about 35 mins.. I know it can take some time but that seems extreme.. will wait a bit longer and if it doesn't work I'll try the steps you listed above..
thanks again

Gary look in this general section for the post that instructs you how to install factory mm. Follow the guide. Google to see how to install factory tar files using Lunix . I'm guessing my instructional writing skills leave something to be desired lol . Once you have the factory mm up and running install Twrp flash superuser reboot. Than reboot into recovery flash phoenix rom. Good good

i9100 - Damaged USB port. Can i still root/TWRP?

Just got given an i9100 today with a faulty USB port. A new one is coming in the mail, but ebay is slow.
It charges fine so it can be used, just no data connection over USB (connects and disconnects, cleaning the port did not help)
Currently on 4.1.2, i9100XXLS9
I can get files to it via SD card, is there any methods to root it or get TWRP on it that can be done before i fix the USB port?

looks like its working, its loaded a stock rom and has its many options. How do i add a custom recovery with it? I'm fuzzy on the S2, since it combined kernel + recovery.

You could use any kernel in .tar format to load a custom recovery. Philz or siyah kernel are normally used to root the s2, but I think any will work.
Alternatively you could download philz kernel in .zip format. You just need to find the correct kernel for your firmware HERE.
This guide is one of many for basic info on rooting etc
i figured it out, got philz on there for now.
Thanks for the idea of mobile ODIN, i tried flashify. TWRP manager, Rash, and terminal commands and none of them worked... mobile ODIN did however.
Now i get to read up on the custom roms available for the S2
Any recommendations?

Marshmallow is quite stable now on the S2, so is Lollipop. Any of the recent MM roms are pretty good. I've been running AICP, Oct M, and AOKP recently(MM) and no real major bugs. On lollipop, Oct OS is good and Mokee is still releasing new builds. There are others that are good as well; too many to list...
On kitkat I love Slimsaber by fusionjack(and GreekDragon has released newer builds). Kitkat is a bit more battery friendly than LP or MM.
Many many options

due to messing around with recoveries and getting into a no-boot situation, i've used the recovery i had to flash dirty unicorns android 6.0.1
hopefully that works, and all is well. So frustrating when recovery + kernel are paired.
edit: DU included the latest TWRP. Bliss.

Well good news on that front. @Lanchon has done some very nice work for the S2 community and come up with a solution to the bundled recovery/kernel. Read up on "isorec" HERE. Basically on the newer MM roms and some later LP roms, the kernel supports this isolated recovery. Just flash the isorec recovery and you have a seperated recovery and kernel

My first recommendation is if you need a 6.0.1 rom, then wait until your usb port is fixed.
If you don't want to wait for that, then take your time and read the link I gave you over on the DU thread for Lanchons re-pit tool. There is a link near the start of that thread to github where you will find downloads for the tool and a more detailed guide. In the xda thread(the one I linked), there are posts from users that will make clear how to use the tool. Basically you need to rename the file to re-partition how you want your layout
If you are not too worried about android version, then maybe try LP or KK. You don't need to re-partition for these roms as long as you use a pico/minimal gapps package and you will get better battery performance.

What i've ran into as a hurdle, is the following:
The latest TWRP doesnt work with that tool, there are no older links on the TWRP website.
The Isolated recovery is now merged with TWRP, so there are no older links there either.
If i can find the recommended 2.8.7.0 i guess it would work.

Edit: That link i posted above was correct and worked to repartition.

[ROM]T550/555 Deodexed, rooted, debloated, deknoxed, Xposed

What's this?:
It's basically a rom for the SM-T555 I created for myself to use Xposed.
UPDATE: SM-T550 version added
Supersu v2.56
Xposed v75
Features:
XXU1AOJ1 Base_update 8.10.15
Deodexed
Deknoxed
Lightly debloated so as not to lose functionality.
Rooted with latest Supersu v2.56 binaries.
Xposed framework.
Install:
Install via TWRP recovery.
No need to wipe, but if you want a minimal system then its advisable to wipe DATA in recovery.
First boot will take around 10 mins.
Disclaimer:
As ever you flash this at your own risk, its up to you to ensure you have a backup with TWRP and/or the stock firmware to hand just in case the Hells Angels decide to ride into to town and kill your device
NOTE: I'm not really going to support this ROM with updates and such. It is what it is, and its up to you to modify it as you wish, more debloat e.t.c., take it or leave it, just leave out the whinging and whining.[emoji14]
UPDATE : New firmware base uploaded. Xposed updated to latest version v75.
Minimum requirement is to be running the same stock build XXU1AOJ1 before install.

Your links seem to be down - they're both status 404 for me.
Also, while I'm at it, do you by any chance have any *.pit files available for SM-T555? I've been wanting to try out the 6.0.1 MM version for it but I can't flash any of the 5.0.2 (that have received the update to 6.0.2) or 6.0.1 ROMs because my T555 is for SEB region and there for any of the ROMs that are 6.0.1 ready, can't be flashed because of invalid EXT4 errors.

Links fixed. I have the pit file but not sure that's your issue.
Have had no such issues flashing other region firmware.
Using the Russian version on UK model no problem.
Thanks for the quick response, I'll check out your ROM when I get back. Also, I'll give different region ROMs a try again... maybe the images I've been flashing were corrupt(I tried flashing VOD region firmwares for 5.0.2 & 6.0.1 and Odin failed to flash both), since it complained about mismatching sizes, I just wrote it off as certaint different regions having different partition sizes.

You can't flash carrier specific firmware as it will be different as you have found.
Just flash whatever is the latest.

Been using this since mid-August, so I thought I'd leave a bit of feedback .... I have had no problems whatsoever with the ROM - works great. Back when I last posted here I initially wanted to get MM on it because I've gotten used to it on my Nexus, but with Xposed already bundled in, this was just a one up in comparison to a MM ROM.
@ashyx - I have a stock rooted XXU1A0J1 build (the one you reference as necessary), on a T550.
I tried the T550 ROM, wiped cache/dalvik/data after flashing it.
Touchscreen works fine, but no joy on wifi. I can see networks, but not connect. I reset my hotspot AP to open (no encryption) temporarily, still no success. The wifi just shows "connecting" for an extended period of time, then "connecting" disappears briefly, then it reattempts connecting. Eventually I get a "Failed to obtain IP address" message.
I booted a Nexus 7 2013, it instantly connected to the hotspot, had web access.
I restored my backup from TWRP, network came up immediately (hotspot set back to encrypted).
Any ideas? Something broken in the t550 rom I downloaded?
Thanks!
is there a way to remove the "loud audio" pop-up screen that you have to comfirm every time you turn up the volume? this is the worst part of thr sm-t550 because i adjust the audio alot.
i heard its part of the asop but is there a way to hide popup and auto comfirm it so you can turn audio up without the spam?

There's an xposed module by pyler available in the repository.
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.pyler.nosafevolumewarning
I've used it before, should do the trick.
Any chance one of these will be developed for the SM-P355? There does not seem to be a single ROM out there for it
