Call recording - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Hi,
Is there a built-in appllication for call recording in our v30?
Searched for it & didn't find one. Maybe needs to be enabled(?) somewhere as it's not legal in every country (legal where I am).
Thanks,

Not the US version by default.
So much corruption in the USA, they don't allow recording because people will be able to prove others lie such as politicians......... ?
Tweaksbox on the g3 and g4 enabled it though.

Is there a different app that can be used on v30 that auto records all calls? I don't want to have to think about pressing a button since I most likely won't remember. I used to use true caller but the recording feature seems to not work anymore. I tried call recording that has the magisk module in the app but that one did not record either. Not sure if I'm just missing a permission or those apps just don't work...

This is what I use:

Yes, follow the instruction from post #1 to install the mod and give it permissions. You need root of course.
You can also set it to auto-record all phone calls if you wish, but that's another set of instructions.

How to Disable Mobile Data Notification?

Everytime I disable or enable my mobile data I am given an annoying popup. It's getting on my last nerve and from what I can tell there is no way to disable it. Has anyone figured out a way to disable the popup?
+100000 to this. it's frigging annoying and I am pretty surprised it hasn't been added to G3 tweakbox
This is how I do it:
I use this widget to turn the data on/off and the popup doesn't come up when I use it.
Has anyone figured out how to turn this off? It's seriously annoying.
I just tried the DataOnOff widget IndianaBond recommended and it works great. I used to turn on airplane mode then re-enable WiFi, but this is better.

You have to buy the unlocked for g3tweaksbox from the playstore to get the greyed out options to work. Its only a couple of bucks and I can say it's totally worth it, and it works with every update that comes from him.

You're welcome. I'm not sure what you're saying re: compatible version/link but maybe you should look or ask in the G3TweaksBox thread for the KitKat version. The screenshot is from the Lollipop/Marshmallow version.

TV Boot (Reboot and Shutdown App)

One of the things that I found lacking with my Nexus Player was the ability to reboot straight from within Android. As such, I decided to write a small app which allows me to do just this. I have also added some other small features, such as Reboot to recovery, Reboot to bootloader and Shutdown. I hope that you find my app useful and I look forward to any feedback.

I'm assuming that this App Requires Root?

Yes, sadly that is the only way I found to reboot.
It'll be nice to add icons on buttons.
Anyway I'll give it 5 stars :good:

Didn't know that as I am yet to flash 5.1. However the added features such as reboot to recovery as well as the fact that it's faster than going through the settings should set it apart.

No doubt this is a more elegant solution. I installed the app and will be using it, thank you! It was rather fyi.
It would nice if there was kinda "Sleep" button (not sure if it's actually possible, but I think it should be).
And, also, how about "kill all background tasks"?
+1 for the sleep part. I don't think mine ever goes to sleep

I'll look into it however I doubt that I will add an option to kill background tasks as I believe that Android does a good job by itself and closing the apps manually does more harm than good.
task kill is not necessary since Android 4.0, but I will echo the request for Sleep. It would be nice to make it Sleep just like any other Android phone.

Yeah I had the same issue, I made my house and my pebble watch trusted in smart lock, so it keeps the lock screen off most of the time. But honestly, it always seems when in deep sleep it takes a few taps to wake it up, so I usually end up hitting the power button anyway.
well its not a secret any more
It was just left over code from other devices.
DT2W is not a secret, and it's been known about for a while now. You don't need an app, or a kernel to activate it. You can just simply run a script to activate it, and have it survive a reboot...that's what I do.
Also, as someone mentioned, it does not work that great (it's almost frustrating at times if you ever owned a G2, G3, or G4). It was implemented a lot better on the LG G2, G3, and G4...I'm assuming DT2W wasn't activated as an option, at least partially, on the N6P because it doesn't function all that well.

The reason why it works so well on lg devices is because the code is built into the touch firmware of their devices.

I'm sorry to hear your having issues. When I installed the referenced busy box, I installed it to /su/bin, I'm not sure why yours did not. If you look at the screen shot from the link, it shows /system/ but that can be changed. My Pay works with no issue. I would try reflashing your rom if custom or system.img if not to clean up the issue. good luck.

Awesome! Thanks mate for your help.
This is an excellent phone. Note that Android auto will not work, there's no VoLTE (that could be fixed by a rom update, everyone's complaining) and you cannot change default launcher.
However the Oppo's Android 11 Color OS is very stable.
Noted. I don't use Android Auto. No VoLTE is a bummer but I can live with it. For the launcher, I just remain to use the default launcher. Thanks again.

French is one of the base language offered out of the box with Oxygen OS.
The only ADB actions you might want it to remove some useless additional Chinese applications installed by default (they are a few, not a big deal neither)

Question SIM Manager Restricted Selections

My apologies if this is posted somewhere else. I’ve searched and could not find it, but I may be using the wrong words!
In the SIM Manager, some phones (International, maybe?) there is the option to assign services to each SIM. In mine there is not. It’s one SIM or the other at a time for everything. It’s a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra configured for Spectrum (CHA).
Is this function disabling coming from Samsung’s programming? Spectrum’s? (I've gotten an inkling from what I've found so far it has to do with the CSC.) And of course the big question- Is there any way to change it without risking a phone’s stability? I just want to be able to use my home SIM to be available for calls/texts to my home number and a separate eSIM for data simultaneously while traveling in Europe. Is that too much to ask?
I’ve no experience flashing phone firmware and it’s a brand new phone, so I’m terrified of bricking it.
Unfortunately the US models don't have that feature and you can't flash foreign firmware to it either.

Thanks for the rec. It looks like a great app for taking band selection into your own hands. But it does not give you the SIM Manager functionality to select services per SIM, unless I'm missing something?
I know if you have 2 e-sims you can not do this

Thank you! That worked!
It's definitely glitched. It doesn't show the names of the networks on the eSIMs. Tapping on the one that said Active though and then tapping the SMS preference and choosing the option with a blank label worked.
Now when I send SMS messages I won't have to remember to flip the stupid toggle to avoid texting from my Boost number.
Too bad it didn't also change the RCS number from Boost to Tello but I can live without RCS.

The workaround works. Are you sure you hit the more network settings button? I successfully was able to select defaults for my pSIM and eSIM.
